I have only positive things to say about my recent visit. The facility was clean and the staff was friendly. I saw Jolene and she displayed excellent bedside manners. I appreciate how she asked questions as well as explained certain things as she was massaging. She also gave me some things to do at home to look after some self care. I highly recommend Massage Athletica and specifically Jolene.

I was out of town for a race and I needed to get some bodywork done after my travel and before my race and they fit me in as a walk in (which is huge). Denis is the best!! You can buy massages in groups and save 20%, it gets applied as credit to your account and will go down as you use their services. Ample parking, and close to St Vital mall.

Yes, the decor is simple, but it's not a spa. I have received the best massages by Vaughn and now Mike. I use to be a high level athlete. Now, I am just over worked and Mike fixes me up every time. I have found my massage home and won't be going anywhere else. To the person who suggested the sheets weren't changed isn't being truthful. My sheets are always clean! I bought gift certificates for family members this Christmas. I know they will love it here too.

To the person who claimed that they use dirty bed sheets, that is complete hogwash. I have been a client here for many years and I have personally witnessed them changing the bed sheets between clients. The product they use is hypoallergenic whereas most massage oils contain fragrances that can cause a reaction in people with sensitive skin (like me). If you wanted them to use an oil on you I'm sure you could have just asked. Shame on you for writing a such a negative review with blatant lies.

My husband and I have been seeing Mike at Massage Athletica for a few years now, and he is so fantastic. His bedside manner is great, and he is truly a magician when it comes to healing all those hurts (Tom's a former gymnast and I just have "stuff"). This week Mike was booked so I saw Romy at St Mary's Road location. I could barely walk when I went in (old leg injury flaring up) and left feeling much better. Romy did a phenomenal job, just as good as Mike, which tells me Mike makes sure he has the best of the best in all his centers. Know that this is real therapeutic massage, so if you're looking for candles, relaxation and funky smelling oils, hit a spa. But if you want to actually resolve issues, and leave feeling good long term, go to Massage Athletica. You will not be disappointed. Oh, and I've personally witnessed therapists changing linens and washing hands, so I have no idea where the hygiene comment comes from. Not my experience at Waverley or St Mary's. PS - Mike, you're still our fave though!

After the first session with Denis it was clear he really knew what he was doing. We did some diagnostic movements to see what was wrong, then he performed a range of effective massage points combined with movements. I was given some exercises and stretches to do at home and now my arm is much better!

I absolutely love massage athletica. I book all my massages at the waverley location but decided to give this one a second go as it’s close to my home. Received a massage a few days ago and it was a little more uncomfortable then normal but I figured they knew what they were doing so I said it was fine to continue on. Totally regret it. My whole back felt bruised I couldn’t sleep well at all for the next few days till it settled. Just this morning though my lower back and hip area feels so unbelievably tight and locked up I can’t move a certain way or bend over as there’s so much pain :(

Jolene is one heckuva RMT! She's not only very excellent at massages but if you tell her any injuries you may have, she'll go to great lengths to try find out as much information for you about it afterwards and you can take that to your PT or fam dr.

Massage was nice, however Vaughn was on his phone for over half the massage. I could hear the tapping of the screen right next to my head. Really took away from the experience. I think I will try my hand at going somewhere else next time.

Adam Walsh was awesome. I went in there with a shoulder injury that I suffered 9 months ago. I have had Chiropractic treatments and physiotherapy, but nothing solved the problem. I even have an MRI scheduled for June because the doctors thought there could be some tears or other injury. I wasn't able to reach behind me just to put a shirt on. I lost sleep every night because the area was so tender and painful. After one treatment from Adam, I can move again! I feel human again, for the first time since before the injury last June. I can put my arm behind me to put on a shirt, or to do whatever else I need to do. So thankful I went.

I really appreciate the professionalism and the skill of the Massage Athletica staff. I have mostly visited the Waverley location but have been to the St Mary's location as well. I had been referred to Massage Athletica by a sports doctor. I had suffered with chronic back problem most of my adult life. I was a bit skeptical having tried massage in the past and I'm anything but an athlete. All I have to say is WOW! These aren't your ordinary therapists. I would recommend this clinic to anyone with a soft tissue injury!

Hello Mike, you’re wondering why I commented together for two of your locations. Let me clarify. I commented at the same time because that’s when I got the reviewing time. One was for the physiotherapy; I visited Paul for about 15 times about my back injury. He couldn’t figure out if it’s a disc issue or muscle strain. After about a month he changed exercises thinking it’s something else. Felt like he was experimenting. Massage therapy at St Mary’s told me that I used a different name for the massage treatment. Although my friend visited the same location for a massage treatment on my recommendation paid with the same credit card I used.

Initially was seeing Aaron who was great but has since moved on. I now see Manav on a monthly basis and he is absolutely phenomenal. Great personality, knows what he is doing. He has helped me a lot with chronic strain from work, and helped me identify areas needing improvement. From there has taught me stretches and movements to incorporate to help decrease the pain from coming back so soon. Sometimes the massages aren’t relaxing due to how tight some of the muscles are but I always leave feeling loosened up and it helps me SO MUCH for the following weeks. I highly recommend massage athletica. Manav is especially wonderful when it comes to neck stiffness and strain. I love the mind body app and that I can schedule appointments through there as well! Highly recommend.

I could hardly move when I went in, but he tried some new massage techniques and showed me stretches that really benefitted me in the long run. I Had a massage from Andrew Laird and just wasted my money and time. He dealt me in a very unprofessional way. Half of the time he was just twisting me. Then start rubbing my back with oil with out any pressure and make me very uncomfortable. I was not there to get oil on my back I was there for massage. Will not recommend to see Andre Laird at all unless you want just oil on your back. In addition, I don’t think so he used the clean sheets to cover me.

I went to Massage Athletica to see Howie Eugenio for a deep tissue massage to work on some impingement in my shoulder and general back soreness. Not did Howie do a great job, but he also spent time after to show me how and why I am suffering from impingement. He broke down the shoulder joint and explained thoroughly what I could do to improve mobility again. This is just one of the reasons why I will always see him for a massage! He does fantastic work and is even a better person!

Good therapist but not a hyginic place. Using cream based oil instead of massage oil. Should have used massage oil with essential oil. Uses filthy bed sheets. Most likely one for all day.
