First time at GMT. I gifted my husband a 1-hour massage with Julie. It was very easy to communicate with her by text. She was very accommodating to our schedule. I had a great massage with GMT's newest therapist, Kari, last week. Kari is a very positive person with kind, happy energy about her. She was very communicative throughout the massage, double checking that I was happy with the techniques and pressure she used and asking if she needed to change anything for me. Kari worked on my upper back, shoulders and neck and I got a lot of relief from it. She also did some reflexology on my feet which felt very nice and I would ask for again. I'm also extremely ticklish and Kari was very careful to make sure she didn't tickle me, which I appreciated! For clients who need deep tissue work, Kari has the ability to use very strong pressure, but she can also be light and gentle if that it was you prefer.

What sets her apart is that she has some physical therapy background and has an understanding of muscle function and how ergonomics cause tension and pain. She has givem me great tips on exercises and movements for healthier, more fluid muscles. I also like the location of this place. Easy to get to, out of the traffic, easy parking. Or biking. I have been getting massages at Gainesville Massage Therapy for over a year now (I have had over 30 massages at this practice and highly recommend them) and have been worked on by two of their masseuses. Both were personable and professional and worked extensively on my problem areas. In addition, they were able to come up with an alternate diagnosis for what I thought was sciatica pain. I believe that this practice has helped keep me going as I have delved into the world of physical fitness (all of my massages would fall into the sports/therapeutic massage category). I find it easy to schedule an appointment through their online scheduler but also they are very responsive to phone calls or texts. The office is comfortable, cozy, relaxing, and clean.

I have had back pain for many years and this has been one of the best places in town to help ease the tension in my lower back. I went here for this first time because I had a horrible migraine that wouldn't go away and I figured I might as well try and sure enough the therapist got rid of my migraine. I have since tried to go at least once a month and seen multiple therapist and all of them are great and very nice. I also love that I can book online.

Julie was awesome. I do CrossFit 5-6 days/week and have a few specific areas that consistently get tight and knotted up. She was able to make me feel new again, and she offered great advice for rehabbing on my own at home using a foam roller, lacrosse ball, etc. She demonstrated an excellent understanding of the body. Highly recommended for athletes!

Julie is great. Booking is easy (online), there are text reminders as well. I've visited Julie several times before for general relaxation massage and it's been wonderful. This time I booked her for some particular issues I've been having - and she did a great job of explaining things, giving me tips for my own stretching, and focusing with care and intensity on the problem areas. She even followed up with me later to see how I was feeling. She really cares about her clients!

Julie is a true professional skilled in her craft of bodywork. Not only did she relieve chronic pain I was experiencing for at least 9 months prior in ONE session... but she was also able to fit myself & my partner in her schedule last minute on a typical busy Saturday. Her shop is clean, homey, and adorably decorated.???? I felt very safe with all of Julie’s Covid-19 safety precautions. I would recommend my family and friends to try her (or her fellow colleagues) for bodywork. Awesome LMT and business in the Gainesville area! I’ll be back soon!!!!

TL;DR - easy to work with, great prices, and very friendly/personable personnel. I gifted 6 massages to my girlfriend. I don't live anywhere near Florida, so I faced challenges in finding a place I could 1) trust, 2) reasonably priced, and 3) can handle the transaction remotely. I looked (online) at a number of places in Gainesville to build a comparison of pricing, then contacted those places to determine if I could handle the transaction remotely and whether I felt I could trust them. Julie was very professional and one of the most knowledgeable massage therapists I have met to date. She was very familiar with the names, actions, and nerve innervations of the muscles and was able to release deep-rooted trigger points and tension. I participate in high-intensity interval workouts and thus frequently experience delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS). After receiving a massage from Julie 12 hours after a very intense workout I am happy to say I was not sore at all! I attribute this to her deep tissue work and I will certainly go back and send my friends to her.

Julie was phenomenal. I had severe lower back pain after working out too hard without proper cool down, and one massage with her and I was feeling back to normal the rest of the night! Not gonna lie and say it cured me, but definitely pointed me to the right direction. My fiancé is a cross fit instructor, and any time he is tight from his workouts and comes to town he sees Julie for a great massage. She is truly talented and well educated on sports massage.

I went to Apolo for a massage, and specifically for help with a low back injury. I am a woman and originally scheduled with a female, but she needed to reschedule so suggested Apolo. He was fantastic. Very skilled at finding my injury and massaging in and around the muscle to help it relax. I asked for some help with how to stretch given the injury so as part of my time with Apolo He showed me some exercises - gentle stretches and core strengthening - and watched me do them. I think he is very knowledgeable about the body and has a great gentle manner. Highly recommend.

GMT is one of those places that remind me why I fell in love with Gainesville. I don't know whether to credit her with intuition or experience or both, but Julie made me feel welcome and addressed each of my problem areas with skill. I felt immediately that I was in the presence of someone who was dedicated to their craft. The room was cozy (loved the heated table) with a view of a little garden outside where we enjoyed the sounds of rain. Aromatherapy is highly recommended—neroli and pine added much to the experience. My first massage I thought it was all being quite and listen to the smooth music, but she made it to where it was a comfortable conversation. The massages were great and she has good deals. I have 26 years of experience in strength training, 18 years of competition at a world level and 6 world titles. I can say without a doubt Becky belongs with a pro sports team caring for million dollar athletes. I had resigned myself to chronic pain and loss of mobility which she eliminated in two visits. And to top it off her deep tissue massage feels good! I had only experienced an hour of torturers pain in the past.
