Exceeded expectations. Lovely place with great staff and incredibly relaxing services. There appears to be a gym above and in the lobby you can hear it but I couldn't during my spa treatments. 10/10 would go again and with friends! Also very accommodating! I waited last minute before my gift card expired and they were able to accommodate both a massage and a facial at one days notice. Outstanding service.

I go for massages with Dominic and he is excellent. I always ask for upper body massage only as I have acute pain and knots in my shoulders and he follows my request every time and focuses on my problematic pain areas. He is respectful and extremely professional! I have gotten facials here too and the customer service is wonderful.. The front desk staff is very nice and friendly as well. My husband and I come to only hand and stone for our massages even though we have lots of massage therapists close to where we live because of the quality of service offered here! I highly recommend this place to everyone who is looking for a wonderful massage therapist, facials!

My Husband and I had a massage on the same day, it was his bday and he has many back issues , I wanted him to feel relaxed and make sure some of his problem area's could be treated. We usually go to more Spa like places , as this place was OK but not as relaxing or what we are use to in our usual places..to me it's like a No Frills place.. more for insurance injuries and assembly line. I had a very good RMT(Daniel) who massaged me very well and He did get to my problem areas. I was pleased with his service and thought he did a great job on me. Unfortunately My husband experience was not the same He had (Ester) he said she did not do a good job and was not satisfied with his massage and she did not concentrate on the problem area's .ie neck and upper back, no pressure . Also his room was very noisy and not relaxing, it was behind the reception desk.. So disappointing as I really wanted him to start his day off well .He said he will not return. I actually liked my massage by Daniel but as for the ambiance its just ok, nothing fancy.

First time experience and enjoyed it immensely. Waxing was quick and painless (the esthetician was lovely and personable and I feel bad I forget her name). This was followed by a couple's hot stone massage therapy treatment with Bonnie and Ari(?). I have been curious about this type of massage for ages and the experience was very relaxing and well paced. The added on cold stone facial treatment was really lovely too. I enjoyed not having to make small talk and just immerse myself in the massage treatment. Beautiful tables for tall individuals like myself and the massage therapists had fantastic instincts for what areas needed extra care.

I've been here 3 times now, and every time it seems the staff is completely new. I typically don't see this from regular massage centers. Not sure if that has anything to do with the overall quality of this business, but it's frustrating that you can never build a rapport with a masseuse. The quality of the massages here has never been an issue, but I find it difficult to justify the increase in price over a regular massage when you are basically just paying for a hot towel and brief face massage. That being said, the bottle of water afterwards is very much appreciated, and is probably the first thing you want after a massage. I'll definitely go back again, but only when my regular massage place is booked up.

I have the monthly massage membership and it's great value. The staff and massage therapists are excellent! UPDATE: Still my favourite place for a massage. Some people find having the gym noise from above a deterrent....but it's never an issue for me because I'm so relaxed!

I've had two facials done by Paulina and I'm beyond impressed! I find them even more relaxing than the massages I have received at hand and stone (not that they aren't phenomenal as well). Paulina made sure I had no allergies, was comfortable, explained what she was doing, and reccomended great products for my skin as well as what kind of facials I should get moving forward.

My first time at the spa was with Bonnie. I've tried out various other spas that offer RMT massages in the area, so when I say Bonnie is a wizard, it's legit. The kind of massage that hurts so good, and afterwards you feel like a new person. I immediately booked my next appointment with her when the appointment was finished. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting great massage. My only warning is the unit next door is SO LOUD, so it can take a bit to tune it out and get relaxed.

My husband and I made an appointment for a couples massage at the Burlington, Appleby Line location as the finale to our vacation. The appointment was confirmed for 8:30pm in the evening and we were looking forward to our massages and hopefully a good experience so that we may return again and again. Unfortunately that was not to be the case. We were contacted 3 hours in advance of our massage by Elizabeth telling us that there had been a scheduling error and that they would have to cancel our massages. This is not acceptable for a business that schedules appointments every single day. We were offered an upgrade on their standard massage if we had booked another date with them, however we declined as we were left with very little confidence that they would not cancel on us on short notice again. We have since booked with one of the more reliable Spas in Burlington and suggest that you do the same.

Place is Okay. An Okay massage. Went there because I got carpal tunnel however I still felt a little pain after the massage. Usually after a hand massage I don't feel pain at all. I was also late by 5 minutes however they still cut the massage short by 5 minutes which is kind of understandable however other places always make a 10 - 15 minute space just in case clients are late. So in the end I paid for a 50 minute message in which I only got 45 minutes. I just won't be going back, not worth it.

Great massage and loved the use of warm towels throughout the hour. Intro price was a little low but regular price too high ( about a $30 difference). I liked the massage so much though that I'm debating continuing even with the higher price.

Over the last couple years that I've visited Hand & Stone Burlington, I've had a great experience with both RMTs who have provided me treatment. With the COVID-19 pandemic, I was apprehensive to return, but after observing the safety protocols, my mind is at ease. Keshav is amazing, and has made major improvements to my wellbeing over the last couple of months -- I highly recommend booking some time to see for yourself. He is very conscientious and professional and ensures that you are feeling comfortable and that the pressure is always appropriate. I've also had great experience with Evan in the past, and would recommend him as well. Check out the Lifestyle Program, which gives you better rates and some other great perks.

Aesthetician Hasna gives one of the best facials I have ever had and is highly recommended to those seeking a great experience. Kudos to Mary as well for the great massages! Every time I have gone for a massage, I leave feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and super relaxed. I’ve had different RMT’s massage me, and each of them are incredibly skilled and thorough with their massages, and each are different in their techniques. I would definitely recommend this location as the staff - from reception to massage therapists know how to take care of their clients. The only downside is there is a Women’s Fitness club above the salon, and you can hear the occasional thudding from weights. This may bother some individuals who are particularly sensitive to noise, but if you’re like me who can find the relaxation in the service, I would 100% recommend!

I had an appointment for today and forgot because I was preparing for a very important interview. Reception (Katie) called me and I was immediately very apologetic and asked if I could come in a half hour later. She said they were booked solid. She was insistent on my paying %50 for the appointment, and requested my credit card. I had a fully paid massage on my file and she would not take the funds from that (I guess this is policy). She spoke to me like I was a child, very rude and insistent on payment. Very upsetting for me on the day of an interview. The whole point in my interview today is the need for a job!! I do not have money to throw out the window. Totally unimpressed with the service, will never return or recommend. So there you go Hand and Stone, you just made $75 off of me for nothing.

I was very satisfied with this place until my last visit on Friday. I was stuck in a traffic on the highway because of an accident and I called to inform them I'll be 15min late. On my way I almost hit a pediatrician who decided to cross the street in the red light. Anyhow I still made my way to come for my massage. I arrived there shaking and I asked the therapist to give me a few min to calm down. I am 7months pregnant. I just went through a sudden shocking incident. The therapist show no sympathy after When I told her what happened she just said that's crazy. Ill wait insideifoe you ehen you are ready. we arrive in the room first thing she tells is unfortunately you were late and the massage for today will be short. I understand if she had another client after me. But after my massage she was done with her shift. I think this is very rude.

I was really looking forward to my prenatal massage and having the chance to relax but unfortunately that was not the case. I arrived about 7 minutes late (totally my fault and I understand the policy about the time being taken off my massage and had no issues with a 50 minute massage turning into 40 minutes); however those 40 minutes didn't do anything for my body. I specifically told the therapist my legs and feet hurt the most so naturally she should've spent the most time there but in the end she said "next time come on time so I can focus on your feet". Why not focus on my feet first since that was my problematic area and not spend half the time on a head massage? Even the other parts of my body felt like they were just barely touched. Overall, I didn't leave feeling relaxed and just felt nothing was done for my body.

Loved my massage. Nice and quite room. Staff was professional. My only concern was it was very very busy. At one point there were 9 people in the waiting area including the reception staff. 4 of those people were behind the reception counter which seemed like a lot. One client was so uncomfortable she had to wait in a treatment room as she did not want to be in contact with so many. I think there must be a better way to manage this to also keep everyone safe and comfortable during such a stressful time.

Massage was decent and they have good prices but man are the walls thin. I unfortunately had my massage at the same time as an elderly lady who clearly liked to talk and sounded like a regular. I heard her talking the whole time making it impossible to relax. Obviously it's each person's preference whether they want to talk during the service or not, but maybe some better sound proofing could improve this experience.

I had my first massage here in November and it was pretty good. I booked my second appointment Three months in advance. About 4 days before the appointment I received a call stating that there was a scheduling error and was asked to reschedule, luckily I was able to get another time slot on the same day. On the day of the appointment, I received another call asking to reschedule again as the other person had called in sick. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise because Rhonda was a magician and worked wonders on my neck! She was very informative and knowledgable and provided me with suggestions to help with my neck pain in the future. She took the time to get to the root of the neck pain and explained exactly what she was doing! I'll be booking my next appointment with her! Update: February 5/18 I have since had two more appointments cancelled/rescheduled since my original review. This last appointment (today) was a 38week prenatal massage and I made it very clear to them that I was trying to sneak in an appointment before my baby arrives. They once again called to reschedule, I was quite upset and told them that I would be looking elsewhere as they are constantly changing my appoiuntments. The girl on the phone did not care at all that she was about to lose a customer and just said "okay thanks". I will not book here again!

I've been to Hand & Stone a few times now, and it is a very clean and pleasant spa. Dominic was the most recent massage therapist I had, and he was the best! Note that you should arrive a few minutes early... We recently picked a different Hand & Stone location, but we were not informed that our client information did not carry over. So we were asked to fill out the new client forms all over again and it took a few minutes off from our massage time.

It is apparent that she is diligently trying to resolve this issue and cares deeply about each clients' experience at the spa. The staff are very polite and professional and the spa is very clean. I had Bonnie for the massage service and it was fantastic! The only negative part of my experience, which is ultimately why I wouldn't return to this location, is that there is a women's gym above this spa. No more than half way in to my massage (and during my entire facial), I heard what can best be described as loud thuds and banging on the ceiling (almost as if weights, etc are being dropped on the floor above). It was startling and I found it hard to ignore, especially since you are there to relax! I wasn't aware there is a gym on the 2nd floor, so I thought it was maybe some maintenance being done to the building, but after learning it is a gym, I will not be back! I'm aware this definitely would not bother some people as much or even at all, but it was not enjoyable from a relaxing perspective, as it went on for more than half of my time spent there. If they moved locations, this would be a front runner for me in terms of the service I received.

I am deeply concerned with the care I received on Friday. My masseuse has left me with a constant pain in the neck that is still present days later. I went in there with lower back pain and left feeling worse than I did when I arrived. Seeing as it was my first massage session in a few years, the masseuse never should have done any form of deep tissue work. At the same time pressing on my neck muscles to show me how it affects migraines and triggering one to prove a point was reckless and not warranted. I now have swollen lymph nodes in my neck and cant even hold a phone to my should with my chin. The muscles in my neck and shoulders are very painful. I DID NOT have this issue when I arrived. All they had to do and all I asked them to do was focus on my lower back. For anyone thinking of going here with some sort of back injury. DONT! This is a spa, these are not RMT's. Great for relaxing with a soft gentle massage or facial or whatever else they do.

My experience at Hand and Stone has been like no other, everyone is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I recently had two treatments of laser hair removal done on my legs and I am amazed by the results. After only one treatment I began to see the benefits of the laser, after the first week, the hair growth slowed down and I would go an extra day without shaving, which I could not believe was possible given the thickness and amount of hair that I have. I am also on certain medications that can irritate my skin and Maria my amazing esthetician went above and beyond to make sure I was safe and I got all my questions answered. I highly recommend this spa.

However, I have had the privilege of having 2 great massage therapist Dominic and "Ali" these guys are the best, they go out of their way to help you get to the root of the problem, very informative and ready to ensure the follow up visit becomes one step closer to helping you solve the issue/pain. Edit: The manager, Annette, reached out to me and I have to say, the way the situation was handled completely changed my mood about Hand & Stone. Excellent management and excellent dispute resolution. Thank you Anette. This review is regarding hand & stone and not my masseuse himself - Ali was great and helped a ton. My biggest complaint is that the room I was in during my massage must've backed onto the lunch room/social room or something because all I could hear during my massage was people chatting (not very relaxing). The beds were solid hard, felt like I was laying on a plastic covered table (especially with the very poor quality sheets). It especially bothers me when I don't get the full time for a massage - if the massage is claimed to be 50 minutes long, please ensure that it is. At $95/50 minutes (this price is for initial visit so regularly it's more expensive), I'm paying $2 a minute. My massage began at 1:05 and Ali was washing his hands to leave the room at 1:48. I hate to be a stickler but I lost almost 10 minutes of my 50 minute massage. Hand & Stone, you've got some work to do. Your prices are above industry average and thus I would expect an above average experience. I don't have insurance so I saved up to pay for this massage and left feeling disappointed.

I went there once for a massage and it was alright. I woke up the following day with an incredible kink in my neck and wasn't able to achieve full mobility when looking left or right. I also tried to book a facial using their online booking system but no one ever returned my inquiry. They have certainly lost any future business of mine.

Sent in a request for an appointment online for a deep tissue massage, received a call from the receptionist shortly after with available times. I was lucky to find an opening that same day that worked for me. The receptionist was super nice and helpful with the questions i had. Got there a little early as instructed to fill out some intake forms regarding covid and my general health for the masseuse (Evan). Evan was very nice and helpful, asked me about my bodly issues that i'm currently having problems with, i mentioned my shoulder issues and i could tell he definitely gave that area a little more attention. He was very polite and made sure that the amount of pressure he was using was okay and to speak up if i'd like more or less pressure. At the end of my hour session I felt more relaxed than I have in a very long time, and my shoulder felt worlds better too. An awesome experience all around and I'd be glad to return again to try a different service.

I got my first appointment at the Burlington location in May. My most recent and possibly the last appointment was on July 7. Let me start by saying that I am sharing this review in hopes that your level of customer service improves. I had massages with two RMT, Daniel and Ali. They were both excellent! Very professional and respectful. I also had a facial done by Andrea. She custom designed a treatment to suit my skin's condition. I can certainly say that the three of them were fantastic. In terms of the salon itself, I experienced a couple of issues: . I had to request a fabric cover to be replaced before my massage started. It had makeup stains. . The room used for my recent massage seemed to back onto an office area. The walls are so thin that I could hear a very animated conversation that lasted for the entire duration of my massage. . There is no comfortable seating area to wait between appointments. . The salon would benefit from aromatherapy. I understand that some people may be allergic but a soft scent such as vanilla or lavender is always welcome. . I was denied a receipt for my massage therapy because I paid by gift card. I got a receipt the first time but not the second one. What kind of silly excuse is that? A gift card is equivalent to cash, funds that I could have used for other services or products. I have massage therapy covered through my medical benefits but I won't be reimbursed without a proper receipt. By the way, my insurance company reimbursed me for the first massage I had at the spa. To sum up, it is unfortunate that poor customer service practices have made me decide to stop using this salon in the future.

Massage was generally fair to good. I asked for a firm massage and received maybe a medium pressure. I asked for specific spots to be addressed and two of the three were touched. I may go back again after trying other places to see if they provide a better service.

I went to at least six spas in the Burlington area and this one offered the best massage. There are no orchid-strewn footbaths but the place lavishly decorated which creates a relaxing environment and the massages are rigorous. I like my massages to be hard/firm and at the other places I always found the massage therapists to work too softly, or if they started out firm they would get tired quickly and end up too light and gentle to get deep into the muscles. If you like or need deep-tissue massages, this is the place to go! Brandon

My hand and stone experience started with a hiccup. I had booked and appointment a few days prior and spoke to a very friendly woman on the phone, who took my information and made me a profile with them and confirmed my appointment. Somewhere something went wrong cause when I showed up for my appointment but it had been dropped in the system. The gentleman behind the desk (didn’t get his name but maybe the manager?) was quick to get a solution for me and asked if the next day worked for me. He provided me with complementary aromatherapy which was a lovely addition to my massage today. Small hiccup was dealt with well and professionally. The RMT Daniel worked wonders on my tweaked shoulder. Very friendly and professional. He checked in on my previous injuries and adjusted the pressure for me upon my request. I highly recommend Hand and Stone and I will be back for more massages and to check out the other services for sure!

My experience with facials has been excellent. Mandy, in particular, has been the person, not only for facials, but for advice on which products are suitable for me. There is absolutely no over-sell. I've been to a few different massage therapists at this location, simple due to my schedule and their availability, and I've had very positive experiences with each of them. The interesting aspect is that each one has his/her own style of massage therapy. My experience prior to Hand and Stone has been that every massage therapist just does the same routine. These therapists are much more professional, in my opinion. The staff, in general, is very friendly and helpful.

Over the phone or in person they answer all your questions and find the right massage therapist or esthetician for you. My last visit like all the others was perfect. I had Esther as my massage therapist and Hasnaa as my esthetician for my facial. Esther gave me a great massage...deep tissue massage. Hasnaa and her ability to make me relax is spectacular. Overall Hand and Stone is the place to go...been going here for years and will continue.

Went for massage which was ok. While I was paying my therapist came out at front desk and started asking me how am I feeling and discussing my issues at front desk. Then he started showing stretches and told me to do it. I was in tank top and had to stretch in front of everyone. It was so embarrassing for me. I also don’t think he should have discussed my issues in front of everyone. I want to repost this.

PROs : Very nice reception staff. Bonnie did a good job with the relaxation massage, duration was also sufficient. CONs : During the massage, whenever you try to relax there is a loud thud sound probably because of shutting the door again and again which spoils the entire experience. A massage center should be operated at a location which is free from outside disturbances. ## A promt call from the director of this spa to ensure my concerns are addressed is another positive thing about this place ##

The massages at this Burlington "spa" are not unlike massage anywhere: some are great; some are just "meh". Hand & Stone is a franchise, so the decor is the same at every store, with the recycling water fall in the front lobby and the canned flute music playing in the background.

The price is quite good if you get a subscription (3 month or more). Most massages are actually only 50 minutes long and not an hour, so keep that in mind. I've tried several RMTs here and some are much better than others. I've had several appointments changed/postponed by Hand and Stone due to the RMT calling in "sick" or being in a "accident"...due to this, I do not plan on returning.

Had one of the best massage from Keshav Uppal recently. This guy knows what he is doing. Due to stress and sitting job always used to have headaches, tightness is chest jaw back shoulders. Started feeling way better after first treatment from him. I can breathe and sleep better. My neck and chest feels better. Highly recommended!

So i scheduled an appointment for a Brazilian wax on Sunday Jan 5th 2020 and this is not my first time receiving one. This was my first time coming to Hand and Stone for waxing and it will be my last. My appointment was at 7 and everything was going fine, the esthetician was nice and asked me what wax I would prefer. I said hard wax as soft wax is too much for a sensitive area especially that particular area. She informed me she would use soft wax for certain areas and hot wax for others (nothing wrong with that) but she basically used soft wax for almost every area and then when using the hard wax it seemed as though she couldn't properly rip it off as the wax was still all over me. I left with wax still on me, it was very uncomfortable as well as there was still many visible hairs. She tried wiping it off with water or something for almost a good 10 minutes and it was just pulling on my skin. lets just say i laid there, silent, nice and understanding for an hour. AN HOUR. I also have a huggggeee bruise on my private area because she should not have waxed over bone. I am not happy and I don't believe I should have paid for any of that service. I am a esthetician myself and it was just embarrassing... Do not get waxed here.
