I went in with extreme shoulder pain to the point where my arm could not move. With just a short 30 min appointment the RMT, Shem Sharifi, resolved my locked shoulder issue and sent me on my way. I woke up the next day with NO pain after a long time. I was extremely happy with Shem's work and knowledge on the overall issue. I have already booked my next appoint! :)

As an orchestral musician who sits in an unnatural position for around 6 hours a day, massage therapy is extremely important for me. Shem is excellent at listening to a problem and finding the origin of the pain, and he has always been able to make me feel better during periods of high stress and tension. He has also given me many great suggestions of stretches/techniques that I can use at home. I would highly recommend him to anyone! The clinic itself is very well run too - it's easy to book online and there are helpful e-mail reminders leading up to appointments. Very grateful to Shem and BMT!

Her massages are delightful and she remembers details such as which trouble areas you might have. As for Burrard Health Centre Massage Therapy on a whole, I love how they run their business. Easy to book online appointments, clean and quiet atmosphere. They had a small "Free massage" booth at CityChase this year, which is how I heard about it and I was excited to try their services! Also great prices for great service. Highly recommend!

Best RMT place I've been to so far! Definitely coming again :) Barbara was very friendly, thorough and informative. She also gave extra advice on what to do to alleviate my back pain (e.g. Posture). I feel better after my appointment. Kiri was also very good. I've been back here a couple more times after my initial visit; basically it has become my go-to for massage therapy. All RMTs I have tried at this location have been great, including Fei. Online booking is very convenient. I find the negative reviews here are the opposite of what I experienced. Rooms have always been clean and they always ask you to say so immediately if the force is too much for you. Keep up the great work!

Was thrilled find the Massage Therapy clinic open on a Sunday. I had an appointment with Kevin Burger, which may have been one of the best massages of my life. Not only did he diagnose exactly why I was having problems but he focused his time on those areas using a variety of different massage techniques. After having really terrible service at another downtown physio and health clinic I moved to Burrard Therapy to continue my treatments. Seok Woon changed my life! He is a very talented RMT: detailed, thoughtful, strong, knowledgeable, professional, and kind. I highly recommend Woon if you need deep tissue work, he is amazing. His massages helped me recover from a neck injury and he also gave me lots of catered advice for long term strengthening and care. I had an upper shoulder pain that persisted for almost a year. I have gone to a couple of massage therapists in town and have had a few massage therapy sessions but my shoulder pain was not getting better. I decided to give Burrard Massage Therapy Clinic a try and saw DANIEL FARKAS. Initially, I was very impressed with Daniel’s knowledge and professionalism, but what impresses me more is that after only four sessions with him, I was completely healed of my shoulder pain. One of the therapists was unfortunately too rough and stretched my body beyond the natural limit, resulting in an injury. I ended the massage early as I no longer felt comfortable. I was disappointed that a health professional would force my body into a shape without consulting me first. The clinic did not ask that I pay for my appointment, apologized, and offered a free treatment for the future. They were courteous but I would not return again after this experience. I would hope that if you visit this clinic you make sure you tell the RMT exactly how much pressure to apply and that you would like to be eased into each stretch or pose to avoid similar injuries.

Chaarvi Bhatia is my preferred RMT, and I have been going to her for the past 2 years. What I like about Chaarvi is that she takes detailed notes, and writes down my conditions, and history in order to come up with a therapy plan and make use of the patient care time effectively. She is excellent and methodical in her approach to therapy. I had been challenged with a series of sport injuries, and she has been instrumental in shortening my recovery time, and promoting overall awareness of muscle tissue and skeletal conditioning. I would recommend Chaarvi to anyone looking for that right RMT. I won't go to anyone else unless I absolutely had no other choice. Even then, I would think twice!

Other therapists at different clinics had tried to help, but nothing seemed to work. I had almost given up - thought I would just need to get used to living with the pain - but then I decided to give it one more try, and saw Barbara for a session. She listened carefully to my explanation, recognized its cause, and gave me a deep tissue massage that provided much relief. Barbara used a very good amount of pressure, and we established right away that I let her know if I wanted more or less. I'm very thankful for the relief she gave me and recommend her highly to anyone who is suffering.

The clinic was clean and very accessible. The price is very competitive. Although they provide a receipt especially if you wish to reimburse your expenses/bill from your insurance company, I think it would be more convenient if they can do direct billing already.

Had a pinched nerve in my neck/shoulder and was in constant pain, at times almost unbearable. Came to see Shem after being highly recommended to me by both my mom and sister. Felt a great improvement and increased mobility immediately after my first visit and even better after my second visit. I will definitely continue to see Shem as my regular therapist. I live on Vancouver Island and would gladly make the trip over to Vancouver to see him. He is very skilled and knowledgeable, professional and genuine. He was able to quickly identify and address my injury as well as determine other underlying issues that contributed to my acute shoulder/neck injury. Customer service is great as well, most places don't offer direct billing for Desjardins Insurance since they are one of the extended health insurance companies that reimburse the policy holder after submitting the claim rather than paying the service provider directly but BMT takes care of submitting for you so you don't have to remember to submit the claim yourself afterwards. That's a huge bonus for me because I always procrastinate with submitting my claims. It's nice to have one less thing to worry about. I would not hesitate to recommend Shem to anyone looking for a great RMT!

I received treatment from Shem for stiff neck, shoulder pain and lower back pain. The latter was of particular concern. I've had back pain for ages and before Shem went through several physiotherapy sessions with only marginal success. At that point I began to think that this was it and I'll just have to live with it. When I walked into Shem's office, I, quite frankly, didn't have high hopes and certainly no expectations of any miracles. Boy was I wrong! Shem immediately identified the problem areas and got on them with all his might. Throughout the session I had tears in my eyes from pain. Towards the end of the session, after my hip and sit bone made a strange scary sound, I felt something that I could describe as being reborn again. The back pain was gone! I could finally hold my back, sit and walk straight and do all sorts of things that I couldn't do for a while without grimacing from pain. I can't thank Shem enough, his healing power was truly miraculous! I will certainly be coming back.

In agony was I, when I first met Daniel. It had taken me a long time to actually admit that I couldn't get rid of this terrible nerve pain in my shoulder, arm and neck by doing my own usual 'doctoring'. I hesitated to go to a therapist because I didn't know what kind of therapist to go to, and I had had quite a few disappointing experiences with other therapists in the past. But I had to get help; I'm not fond of using pain killers. Daniel just felt good; good energy. So I decided to try once again, trust someone with my sensitive body. Scary. I am happy I did though. Daniel turned out to be a thorough and passionate professional who knows what he is doing. I can feel that he's focussed and that I can trust him. He cares. My pain was a cumulation; decades of non corrected posture, ignored little aches and bad experiences in the medical field resulted in countless trigger points, tough fascia and blockages I don't know the name of. Daniel helps me to free myself from the causes of the pain so I can move freely again. He applies his care, I do my home care. I went to this Massage Place based on the high reviews I have seen at Yelp and also other media site!! It's the worst Massage I had in my life! Not sure who rated this high. Probably the people who works there! Other thing I want to add, I paid $105 for one hour of massage and they ask me to pay TIPS!!! Excuse me!! This is professional service it's not minimum wage service!! Will never go back again and I don't recommend it for anyone .
