I got the 02 facial here and it was amazing! Frank was very knowledgable about products and knows the pure value of professional products. He spent some time talking with me about my current skin care routine and gave me some tips to improve it! I really appreciated that because it shows that he genuinely wants his clients to leave not only with better skin, but an education! He got me hooked on a hyaluronic serum that leaves my skin very hydrated without the oily residue that some hydrators leave on my skin. I will definitely come back!

I managed to book last minute and went in with a minor injury. I had my massage done by Erica and she was able to take a lot of the pain away from the injury . Quite honestly, it may have been the best massage I ever had.

Drove 2 hours so that my mom could get a nice, relaxing, massage and was told that only she was allowed to go in. There was no mention of this on the website or their auto emails. Not impressed! There's not even a bench to sit on outside while we wait for her 1.5 hour appointment. DO NOT RECCOMEND, NOT CONSIDERATE, OR PROFESSIONAL. Will not be booking again!!!!

Amanda Pigeon gave a wonderful massage. She is petit but she was able to massage out many of my trouble areas. The receptionist was very friendly and answered all my questions. She squeezed me in the same day. I'll return the next time I'm in Halifax!

Very clean, beautifully decorated space. I booked a 90 Minute treatment and it was fantastic, the therapist had great pressure and finished off with a hot towel at the end on my neck. Would definitely go back.

Erin is the best massage therapist in Halifax! I have been seeing her for almost a year now and always left with a huge smile on my face. Thanks to her amazing deep tissue skills my pain goes away right after the treatment. Also, the staff is very kind and friendly and the place is very clean. One of the best in the city. I have tried different places in HRM and by far Urban Retreat was one of a kind experience. Very welcoming and friendly front desk staff. Clean and no hygiene concerns. Amanda is something else! An expert by definition, quite, respectful and is definitely recommended. Time & money well spent and well deserved 5 stars rating.

Wow! I will say this was the best massage of my life. I was traveling Novia Scotia from the states on my motorcycle and needed a rest day. Erin was great at balancing relaxing and therapeutic massage to rejuvenate and energize me and my muscles, can’t recommend her enough. Thanks for a great experience, would love to come back again!

I recently has a massage here, based on the recommendation of a friend and was pleasantly surprised. Jess was my masseuse and was wonderful. They respected my comfort level and communicated gentle but clearly about the process. It has a small business feel so I can definitely understand the no guests in the waiting room rule. The hot towel and heated beds were great. Many places can feel quite clinical, whereas urban retreat truly feels like a spa experience. I will be back. (Also the person at reception was very sweet and they both checked in on my experience to make sure I was satisfied)

I have been here a few times and it is definitely top notch! I had the best massage of my life. Thank you Amanda! Its a true spa experience and it smells so nice in there. It was quiet and the music was really peaceful. The choice of essential oils and the hot towels make the experience that much better. Highly recommend!!!

Came 2 hours away so my wife could get a massage and apparently only she can go in. I would have to wait out on the sidewalk where there’s no bench to sit for the 1.5 hour appointment. The website makes no mention of this not did their auto emails. Not happy!! Waste of our time and day!

Amazing spot! The ladies here were so polite, professional and lovely. The room was very relaxing and quiet and the entire building was clean and bright. Both masseuses for my mate and I were lovely, and were great at their job! The prices are great and they offer a wide variety of services. Definite thumbs up!

My partner and I had a couples massage here, it was so incredible we booked in for another! Really friendly staff & full of knowledge. My only complaint was that you could hear people talking through the wall so that was slightly distracting!

I went to see Amanda this past weekend. She was only my second massage. After being unimpressed by my first massage at another business I was recommended to try Urban Retreat. The difference was unbelievable! This is a long one, but i'm so impressed I wanted to try to share everything I loved about it and why I will 100% be back. 1. The massage rooms are in a basement, which means 0 traffic noise. This makes a huge difference. 2. There was a heating pad to keep my feet warm. 3. She worked on my legs, hips and feet ... and while she did she moved the heating pad to my back. 4. Hot towels! 5. Delicious smelling essential oils. She even gave me my choice of what scent I wanted. 6. Professional and very friendly/approachable. She provided recommendations without being pushy. 7. She did not partake in small talk, kept it strictly about my treatment. I realize if you ask, most RMTs will not talk but it was nice to no have to have that awkward conversation. 8. I was a couple of minutes late and she still gave me my full appt. which I did not expect. (I mean it was my fault I couldn't find parking as quickly as planned) 9. The massage ended with a hot towel and reassurance to take my time getting ready and she would be waiting at the front desk for me. 10. She was waiting for me with a glass of cold water at the desk. These all seem like small things but together this made for a great experience. I will be recommending them and returning. Thank you Amanda!

Best Massages in Halifax, I’ve tried many places but always get a good treatment here. Helped a lot with my neck pain. Therapists are very knowledgeable and I feel well taken care of. Would highly recommend this place.

I always end up booking here out of pure convenience (location & last minute booking availability) but every time I get a service I remember why I don't like going there; the rooms are not sound proof, and the reception talks to off duty therapists the whole service, and at my most recent service the therapist wore gloves. I am sensitive to the chemicals on disposable gloves (and the noise it makes) and it completely ruined the experience.
