This Mall corresponds to the category of Shopping mall.
Free 2 hour parking - variety of stores and services available.
Very relaxing place to shop with both a fresh veggies store, and a really good Asian food store (Sungiven)… This is a mall that has been constructed from to existing heritage buildings.. Take your food to go and sit in the park across the road at City Hall ????
City Square mostly contains offices, however also has some great coffee places and Dollarama, along with other stores. Great for buying some quality glasses or for socialising. Location is ideal, with easy wheelchair accessible entry. Usually not crowded, and there is plenty of space to maintain social distancing. Well connected with multiple bus routes such as 33 (5-7 minute walk) or 15 (2 minute walk).
This mall has the weirdest selection of stores. The atmosphere is very unpleasant. It’s like as if they’re waiting to be demolished and turned into a condo...
Everything is closed too early but rather than thats its beautiful mall
Very cute and well taken care of. I like the atmosphere in here! This place is a mix of heritage and new designs with a very relaxing vibe. There aren't many shops, but it's very popular for the food court where you have quite a few choices . Also, it hosts a Starbucks and second coffe shop.
great, if I want to know more the contact info is there.
DO NOT GO IF YOU HAVE A BABY. Not family friendly at all. Zero changing tables in the bathroom. Was forced to change me daughter on a table in the food court, after which someone had the audacity to scold me for doing so because "people eat here". Would not have had to do that if the mall was more family friendly. Edit: a change table in the ladies bathroom doesn't help dads, and there is no long counter in the men's room.
Not much there
Went to east tower where my employer bayshore home health is. Also has Monarch Dental for children. Mall is simple with a food court, post office, grocery store, etc.
I assure you an elevator is broken. And likely an escalator too.
Even if you shop inside the mall (grocery etc) parking ticket CANNOT be validated for motorcycle users. We tried to park at a spot for cars to get a validate-able ticket but a staff came to prevent us from doing so. Total BS. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU USE MOTORCYCLE.
Nice.building and open bright areas with several key stores to anchor such as Safeway and.Starbucks. Food fair is typical with more Asian heavy skew. Pretty easy to access parking although its very overpriced and validation doesnt seem to make a dent in the price. Wifi is poor and hard to access, better to use Starbucks or more shop specific wifi if needed. I like that the mall doesnt appear too busy and the public piano is a neat feature, especially when someone is playing.
Very nice looking mall, but nothing of actual use inside other then grocery stores. Expensive parking, but an hour free if you validate ticket at Starbucks etc .
Very neat mall with a square feel. Mostly boutique shops, and a little food court.
Just a quick walk through. Didn't stop at any shops.
Convinient place to shop since they validate parking
It's a small and quiet mall but it has a food court, Kin's farm and Safeway.
Lots of parking underground. Has a variety of stores.
Not a big mall but has the essentials plus free underground parking if you get your ticket validated in store
don't know when the centre is closing or open anymore.
It's not an amazing Mall, but it's not bad.
I love the vietnamese restaurant, not issue with the parking cuz when you consume there , they stamp your ticket.
It is a very empty and quiet mall.
Good foodcourt, but no free parking, it says that it is free for 90 minutes but it is not true
The parking is outrageously expensive, and unfair. I go into this mall often, mostly to take my granddaughter to her dental appointments, and I usually buy something in the food court (which is quite good) and sometimes shop in the other places. Today I drove in and as I got out of the car, couldn't find the parking ticket. I searched through everything thoroughly 3 times, and finally went to the entry and pushed the assistance button. I felt like a hostage when I was told I could not get out without paying a $30 fee for my lost ticket. I saw 2 other people with the same problem while I was there, wandering around searching for their lost ticket and furious that there was no reasonable option. This is an outrageous fee, especially when you're held captive until you pay it. That could be seriously troublesome when you've got a time to pick someone up who needs assistance and can't be left alone. They have cameras on the cars entering and on the ticket kiosk - surely it is possible to confirm that a particular car has already passed through the gate and obtained a ticket - they could even see exactly what time that was. If that's too much trouble, I say someone is making too much profit from this parking racket.
Great little mall with a sweet atmosphere.
Nice mall. Although its small mall but it has some of the brands. Food court majorly has asian foods.
Very relaxing atmosphere, eating delicious congee . Like it
Always a pleasant place to shop. Not tons of stores here but Dollarama is great and we always go to Parker's Alteration Shop. He does a top notch job on everything.
Free parking within 2hrs with purchase
Decent quality Asian cuisine.
Modern, pleasant mall and very clean
Home of the world’s slowest elevator. ???? If it works at all. ???? And if it doesn’t, then there’s apparently no other way to reach some floors if you happen to have a pram with you or are sitting in a wheelchair. ????????♂️
Pretty good spot
Beautiful small centre with many food options and shops. Very clean and easy to access
Parked here for under 2 hours, and their machine failed to valid my ticket, and the parking staff wants me to pay 9 dollars, then if not 100 dollar if I don't pay up...Doesn't make any sense, if your machine fails, why force you customers to pay! These parking attends care only about money, and will force you to pay if there wrong.
Pretty decent food court and neat little market.
I went there to go to Safeway but it's no longer there. Cute little mall, fresh veggie market is nice.
(Translated) A good business center, mainly eating. (Original) 不错的商业中心,主要以吃为主。
Went to City Square to see the new Sun Given Foods location.
Great
Lovely layout but a little confusing the first few times you go. Has a bit of everything in an easy to find location.
Prepare to get lost because the elevators don’t work and the staff has no idea where the stairs are and no signs. I absolutely hate coming to this mall and avoid it if I can.
Well maintained neighborhood shopping & healthcare centre.
It is a nice little mall, good food court ????
Terrible mall
It's a quiet place to grab a coffee and sit in the food court for hours talking with friends.
Why on Earth would someone want to pay $4.25 for the first hour of parking in this tiny mall.
Safeway closed recently and weird vibe to place...
This is a pretty small mall with a few independent clothing retailers, a Dollarama, a Safeway and a small food court. I visit City Square regularly, and I enjoy how quiet it is. The history of the building is quite interesting and definitely worth a read, it started off as two schools if you can believe it! The shops aren't anything special, but the location is convient to me and it is never busy.
I have been coming here for several years now. I would recommend it to anyone.
Just came here to poo and was pleasantly surprised the facilities were great very clean almost floor to ceiling doors felt comfortable and at peace on the toilet. Would poo here again highly recommend
Mostly service oriented.small food court.
The mall is across the street from Vancouver city hall, probably 2 floors and has a lot of stuff. For example Steve Nash fitness club, Safeway, Starbucks and a food court with a seating area Parking also is available you can access to it from Cambie street. It get’s a little bit busy around lunch time, cause it’s probably a go to place from the businesses around. Over all good location for a quick shopping if you live or work close by, also you can have a good lunch here as the food court has multiple options.
Small mall. Has a bit of everything, food court , grocery store . Underground parking, free if you make a purchase in most stores. The elevator to the Kirin restaurant is a bit annoying as it is both slow and the only one that goes between 5 different floors. At lunch time can be a pain to go up.....though now during pandemic time, was less an issue. Sungiven is a great alternative to T&T when it comes to Asian groceries. There are not too many places like that in this area so it does meet that need.
The best mall in the world ❤️.
Two of my favorite stores at City Square - Sungiven Foods and Dollarama. Very convenient location at Cambie and 12th Avenue junction.
Aggressive Steve Nash reps pushing free 1 week tryouts on short expiration to heavily pregnant women. Because working out with sore feet & back is the first thing on my list. Cool it, I get that your trying to be motivation, etc, but your scaring the patrons away from the mall. P-s Same one who gave me the "passes" proceeded to spam call/text my friend to go when they already said they were not interested.
Small mall located near broadway/city hall skytrain offers lots of room, clothing, food and specialty shops and a large food court. The upper level gives it a unique charm and it is one of the few places where the music not ridiculously loud. A quiet shopping and coffee experience where you van actually relax with a coffee from Cultured Coffee and Tea or Starbucks. Parade is on either side and the Broadway,/City Hall sky train station is close by.
It's ok, not very big and looking a little dated now. Not a massive choice of shops, if I didn't have an appointment there I wouldn't go to visit. There are far better malls to go to.
This is Review on Parking. Not the stores inside City Square. I’m very disappointed in how this company and how they have handled this current matter. I spoke to an employee with the parking company who hung up the phone in me when I went to the parking stall to see if there was any indication of the signage she has sent me that states not motorcycle/ scooter parking as I drive a vespa. . 1)I got my parking ticket at the meter 2)I parked in the first parking stall number 8. 3) Went to SunGiven for 10 minutes and came downstairs to a ticket. When I walked through the parkade with the employee on the phone to see if I could find this signage that indicates scooters should park on Ash Street I could not find this signage. I asked a man who just parked there if I was missing something and if there is anything that states I can’t park in this spot. He stayed with me and we were on speaker so he could say he didn’t see anything either as well. The employee stated as a “ parker” it is my job to find valid parking. I have disputed this parking ticket and it was denied as I apparently didn’t do my due diligence as a “ parker”. I’ve e-mailed a couple times back waiting for the 10-15 day period for them to return my e-mail and I received nothing back. It’s not the fact about paying the parking ticket but that I feel it’s not right to ticket a vehicle if there isn’t visible signage making it easy for the “parker” to avoid getting a ticket. This is also frustrating as I live across the street at Cambie and 12th and this is happening within the community. I understand that City Square has hired a private parking company to monitor their parking but I really feel that this is not right in any shape or form and this matter ( even though it’s small in the grand scheme of things) should be fixed. As a “ parker” the employee clearly indicated there is nothing I can do other than pay the parking ticket. Unfortunately this doesn’t change the fact that the issue I experienced while parking is happening to many other individuals. Just a little warning especially if you live in the community and would like to grab items from the fantastic stores upstairs. Normally I walk but that day I was on my way home from work and cost me a little more than my $15 quick grocery shop.
It's got little specific businesses like dental clinics. It isn't somewhere I'd go for a complete mall shopping experience. I do like the massive Dollarama and the sungiven foods grocery store. Helps me get the little things without having to run around too much. Parking is pretty expensive.
Beautiful example of how heritage buildings can be preserved and incorporated in a new development. Trivia: Jean Claude van Damme filmed Timecop (1994) here.
It's a heritage building, looks pretty neat inside. Don't expect too much shopping or eating, small food court, not many shops.
Good
Grocery shopping
Decent place to shop. Few small joints and fast food restaurants, a liquor shop, a couple of ATMs, barber and a convenience store. Would recommend it for the basic needs of life. Jii
(Translated) I like to have lunch in the food court. (Original) 喜歡美食廊吃午餐,價廉味美,不用排隊。
In 2017 I went here to get fruit smoothies for someone who was in the hospital at VGH for months. They had to be on a liquid diet and were sick of the disgusting hospital food. Idk if the "Charlotte" bakery is still there but it was extremely helpful.
Nice place for a walk and rest.
Are you serious this is rated 4 stars? Not worth the visit unless you live somewhere very close and plan to use it as a collection of neighborhood convenience stores.
Great stop for coffee...not a lot to choose from but it dies have Dollarama!
Bright and airy feels like Hawaii shopping, nice stores, also food court is open and still keeps good social distancing
Horrible parking system. We were charged $10 for parking 1.5 hour even though we were validated for 2 hrs free. There was no attendant on site to resolve the problem.
Free 2-hour parking with validation from one of their stores. It now has a larger variety of stores and food court selection. They recently also replaced the Safeway with a Sungiven food.
(Translated) convenient (Original) 方便
The barber shop upstairs is my go to, and Sungiven foods is pretty nice if you think t&t is too far away. Been going to the Chinese food guy in the food court for years and the food's never failed me yet
I would like to give the mall 4 stars for a nice, clean, well kept facility with decent store options in the city center depending on what you're looking for, but the caveats are that parking is expensive & some of the stores are more easily accessed from outside even after having parked in the underground, so it's a better place to walk to than drive to. If you're going to the courier and have to carry a heavy package, there's an outside driveway that you can pick up/drop off that's more convenient than underground parking. Great for anyone working at City Hall or vicinity.
Nothing great for shopping
Attendants who are responsible for the parking lot are rude and has no sympathy. Will never come back to this mall again
Awesome little mall. Food court is Great.. good Food I highly recommend it
Great dentist
THIS IS WERE THEY FILMED THE MOVIE TIME COP WITH JEAN CLAUDE VAN DAMME
Bad management.
Decent selection for stores with fantastic architecture. Worth a visit and free one hour parking with purchase.
To know before you go, parking is free for the first 90 minutes. But once you in , you have to pay $4:25 per hour and they ignore the free 90 minutes. Bad experience
One good market. a dollar store and a grocery store. but that's about it. not a whole lot here to enjoy
By far the worst experience ever. I never write reviews but I’m thoroughly upset. I go to school at this mall so I often park my car here for 8 hours and today when I was paying for my ticket which was $21. I put in a $20 and then I tried to put in coins after and the kiosk froze. I had $0.55 left to pay and the kiosk wouldn’t allow me to pay at all so I clicked on the button to ask for assistance. The lady on the speaker asked if my ticket was inside the kiosk and I told her it was and it froze when I only had $0.55 left to pay. She told me to cancel the transaction but the kiosk was frozen so it wouldn’t even allow me to do so. Then she told me to drive my car to an exit and they will help me there. So I drove to an exit and I explained what happened to the parking attendant and she claims that none of the staff members talked to me on the ticket kiosk. She said all the kiosk were perfect and would never freeze. Well, it did for me and what’s worst is that she told me I had to pay $30 because I “lost my ticket” but I told her I already paid $20.45 but the kiosk froze and wouldn’t allow me to pay the rest and YOUR staff told me to come here. Overall, I paid $50 for this ridiculous parking lot and I always come here because I go to Blanche Macdonald. I would like to get my $30 back. I’ve never been more angry and upset especially since I park my car here 3 times a week. Please teach your staff on how to care for their customers.
It has a good variety of food stores in the food court and grocery stores. Washrooms are clean. Other areas are clean and not crowded. Good for shopping and spending your lunchtime there.
It’s a good place for shopping
Just not a good place to park.
Good
(Translated) The building has a unique style. You can stroll around and shop. There are restaurants and drinks and food, which is enough for a long time! (Original) 建築別具風格,閒來逛逛,可購物,有食肆有飲有食,足以消閒半天!
Good volume and close to everything.
This review is regarding the PARKADE only, not a reflection of the mall itself or the stores within. You MUST validate your parking at Sungiven Foods for 2-hour free parking, all other stores only validate for 1.5 hours – and I learned this the hard way. It was my first time driving to City Square, and I saw the sign in the parkade that read “Enjoy 2 hours free parking with purchase”. I went to Dollarama first, and had my ticket validated there. I shopped around, and Sungiven Foods was one of my last stops before returning to my car. As I was driving out of the parkade, I was surprised that there was an overdue balance of $4.25 at the gate, even though I was in City Square for less than 2 hours (I had a timer on my phone). I called parking assistance and they sent Chandani to deal with the issue. She did not want to listen to my situation and was very rude and unhelpful. She kept insisting I pay for the ticket or go back upstairs to revalidate, and then walked away. I understand she may not have any authority to authorize anything or override the ticket, but she did not bother to listen or try to get help. I checked my timer, and saw that I was cutting it very close to 2 hours, so if I had re-parked my car and went back upstairs to revalidate, I would definitely go over the 2-hour limit. I paid the ticket and checked the website when I got home, and I understand that the City Square regulations states: -90 minutes FREE parking with a minimum $5.00 purchase from City Square retailers. -One retailer stamp per parking ticket allowed. Please bring your parking ticket along with you to the retailer for validation. I am upset because there was no indication (either on the website on signage posted in the mall or parkade) that the retailer stamp HAD to be from Sungiven Foods specifically (and be validated there first) in order to qualify for 2-hour free parking (instead of 90 min). Chandani also gave me the wrong information, and I would not have been able to re-validate at Sungiven foods anyways if I went back upstairs, as only one retailer stamp per parking ticket is allowed (as per the website). I did email the admin at City Square as well with my concerns over the signage, and asked for a possible refund. Chasity from Reception & Administration directed me to Precise Parklink in regards to the ticket refund. I didn’t bother contacting Precise Parklink because on paper, I did exceed the 1.5 hour parking limit, but the reason for this is because of the misleading and unclear signage in my opinion.
During a pandemic they have continued to not at all enforce the mask mandate. Most customers still unmasked. Very disappointing and not respectful of the businesses and their staff, who were mostly masked of course.
Had sungiven goods and kins farm. A decent food court. I went on the weekends and the parking situation was good and they do validate parking. Depending on the time an situation the elevators are busy and it's a hassle to go up or down. It's nice to see the architecture. The independent retail stores seem forgettable.
I normally won't go here because the parking is expensive. But today I had to because I got a package I have to pickup at the Purolator branch in the City Square Mall. I could have just biked here but I know the package is big and heavy so I have no choice but to drive there. Purolator did give me free parking for picking up packages so thats very nice of them props to Purolator, but somehow when I get to the parking and sticked the ticket into the machine it saids I need to pay $3.50. I am guessing because I chose to take the elevator because the package is heavy so I opted for elevator instead of taking the escalator near Safeway and waiting for the elevator took too long and that costed me $3.50. At least thats my theory. And extrapolating this to other customers, grocery shoppers with a lot of groceries would have to take the elevator as well and would risk being too late and have to pay parking just because of that, even when the shop intends to reimburse the parking cost. I think the time allowance for you to go from the shop to the parking booth is just too short it's ridiculous.
Great food court, lots of options
Couldn't find Saturday parking. In time was 13:10. Out time was 13:16. Impark charged me $3.50 with no exception. Absolutely ridiculous. I'll be going to a different Safeway now.
Love the Asian market and fresh produce market. ..great stuff
Historic old buildings combined into mall and offices. A pleasant visit, not to busy, reasonable food court. A nice walk.
I actually like City Square Mall. It has a different feel to most malls, lots of clothing stores, Asian grocery, great $ store, barber, eye glasses, vitamin & health specialty store, convenience, fruit & veg, food fair and strangely I think there was only one or two store locations that were closed. If you have a half hour & find yourself in the area but worth a look on both levels.
It shouldn't be called a mall ! practically empty and crazy charge for parking !!
Great shops and food
I went into the “free parking” the mall had, I assumed there would be some sort of fee for parking and went in anyway. I went in for less than 30 minutes, when I went to the pay station it said 6.50$ for less than 30 mins! Then when I left there was another pay station and it proceeded to charge me 4$. I paid that because I was angry and knew I wasn’t going to return ever, and it malfunctioned and wanted me to pay ANOTHER 4$!!! Luckily a man was at one of the pay stations and I called him over and he reprogrammed it and let me out. Never returning, that was absolutely ridiculous.
good place to go
We went to this place for halloween lucky we won the ticket for the prize we so happy and excited turn out when we came claim the prize they said sorry you are late the prize gave to someone else we all sad, mad about the way they did so disappointed. I also contact the general manager he just said sorry and hung up the phone. They gave us the form with name, address, phone number and email for us to fill out for nothing because at the end you won the ticket they just garbage because they not contact you pick up the prize because they give to someone else what a wasting time fill out the form for nothing not professional at all bad experience with them :(
October 26 halloween event at this mall 12-3pm we collected all the stamps got tickets from them for the prize. We won the ticket but they gave our prize for some one else when we came claim the prize they give telling us sorry you are late so disappointed. The way they do I am not happy at all they should keep the won ticket contact owner come pick it up because they gave us the form name, address, phone number and email those information go to junk garbage because they ignore those information what a wasting time to fill out at the end you won they never contact you claim the prize because they put your winning ticket in garbage they just call someone else what a shame first time bad experience with them so so disappointing:( is there the way I can speak to their boss or manager about this matter happened to me please let me know thank you!
A quaint mall with the most beautiful architecture from reusing a courtyard of older buildings and encompassing this creation in glass. Nicely executed fusion!
wonderful place to shop - beautiful Mall
Very expensive parking. I was there for less than 30 minutes (I really think it was less than 20) and i got charged $3.5. It’s just ridiculous. No way I am going back there.
Saw a sign for free 2 hour parking with purchase and no further instruction. Bought a bunch of stuff at the dollar store and tried to exit only to be rejected. Called the attendant who was extremely rude and hung up on me. The attendant should be fired. No basic customer service at all. Perhaps a job panhandling would be best. The attendant just barked “you have to validate the ticket” and that was it. There are no visible signs indicating that you have to validate the ticket when you drive in. What a scam mall
Parking fees are outrageous!!
Parking attendant was abrupt and rude when asked about parking issues and I don't think I'll ever go there again because of this. My experience as a customer with the staff of Starbucks was good and the staff of the post office store was not what expected to solve my parcel shipping due to their knowledge or rather lack of it due to the fact the clerk did not want to look into Canada Posts site to check a postal code for an address in BC due to not wanting to go a little further to help a customer. There's other places with better customer service such as the other malls nearby.
i love this mall and the sungiven foods is really great. i dont appreciate the mall maintenance people or whoever it is, always hanging around the front entrance and smoking and spitting around people right when people go in though. has happened multiple times now.
Cool little gem in the city. Small little food court, big taste
Interesting asian supermarket, limited food court, coffee shop. Produce store.
Small but nice Safeway I believe is the anchor store liquor store small food court walking distance from Broadway and cambie station
I found an awsome little backpack with a great price and a Frappuccino next door....perfect....
It's a mall. Usually dead
This little cute mall is just located by the train station across the street up the hill before 12th Ave. This mall has free parking and you can come catch a little snack at the food court, there is a couple of grocery stores , flower shop, and a convenience store and sit down and just admire a cute little Christmas decorations. I enjoy my time here its very lovely. 2 years ago: They just opened up a brand new grocery store called Sungiven foods! Love this new place!! High quality Chinese grocery store with so many organic foods to choose from ! Free 1 hr parking too! You will love this place!
Convenience mall, good for locally shopping.
This place has a calm relaxed vibe, good food and lots of light.
Come here on occasion when in the area. Friendly shops.
EASILY ACCESSIBLE, RIGHT IN THE CENTER OF THE CITY. GO THERE WHENEVER I'M ABLE TO GO. LOVE TO EAT AT HYBAR SALAD FOOD STALL, THO' THE VIETNAMESE, CHINESE, JAPANESE FOOD STALLS HAVE GOOD SELECTIONS TOO.
Limited shop selections. The elevator always "gets fixed" and after the elevator is worse than before. Going up it shuddered as it rised and at the very top it stopped and shuddered again before reaching the top. Then once it reaches the top it shakes and then the doors open. Now after this experience I've been using the movator instead of the elevator.
Nice and warm place
Its keeping me sober
Don't know much about the mall, only go here for Steve Nash and Body Energy.
I like sungiven foods as their produce is clean and looks fresh. Also they are not constantly misted every so often. I find that clean dry produce lasts much longer than wet. Ever buy a box of prewashed salad that had moisture inside and it starts turning into sludge after a few days? Although their selection is not as thorough as T&T, to be fair, it's a much smaller space. I'm happy this grocery store is nearby.
Great place to be to soak up the AC and free wifi.
Unlike other malls, this small unique and beautiful mall is an inimitable mix of modern and heritage architecture that makes me feel like I am in 80s. It has a food court, small stores, offices and few huge departments such as Dollarama, Safeway and Kin's Farm Market. Alas, the parking is expensive.
Quiet and most shops offer parking rebates
