REVIEWS OF City Centre IN Ottawa

Sarah Brillinger

Makerspace would be a great music venue but they don't have a liquor license so you can't even have a beer but it looks cool.

Laurie S

This place desperately needs proper signage!

Juliana Gomes

Great place to check out if you crave some uniqueness. From fitness to food, you'll find it here.

Peter Riehm

Let's face it, the city centre is a dump

Niki Mintenko

KineMedics was very helpful in helping me to choose a knee brace. I had to make an appointment.

Emily Roy

My favourite place to visit here is a co-workspace called Makerspace North. It's an amazing space with offices and workshops where various business work out of. The benefit is the connection everyone has, the ability to support and be supported by others. The connections are huge for assisting each other in growth and referrals plus the discounts are amazing.

Daniel DuPont

Off the beaten path, only for those that know where to go. A place with eclectic businesses, including the popular Art-is-in Bakery. Parking is free for the 1st 90 minutes .

Nick Wang

Sports, beer, billiards, art, food. This is a great spot! Gymnastics, martial arts, bars, art displays, bike shops, a bunch of really cool things in the area!

Stewart Spiers

It's an okay mall. Parking is free for 30 mins. You now need an app to park though which is disappointing. They will ticket you right away if you even think about leaving car there without registering which is weird because it's not a highly sought after area for cars to park...

Tia vom Scheidt

Went to Art is In and loved the coffee and vibes! Kitchen is currently under reno so no hot food (was mildly disappointed) but that was made up by the best Schnitzel sandwich I've ever had! Fantastic food and accomdating staff!Coming back again to try some of their hot plates! (Kitchen is closed Jan. 15-26)

Brother Ollie

Great selection of businesses. Ample parking.

Pamela Eastwood

Love it here! Amazing place for events, lots of food choices, great park. Lots of variety for places to eat so its good for many budgets.

Brian Eng doing his Theng!

Great space and neat shops and things to see but the paid parking after 90 minutes screams of cash grab. Why make patrons feel anxious about their parking when they can be relaxing with a beer or playing games? At least make it 3 hours free. There's so much wasted space and no one wants to go there anymore because of the parking.

Bryce Dymond

A number of niche stores and a fun brew pub. Also one of the best bakeries in Eastern Ontario.

Pascal Talbot

I've been to a wonderful place call "art is in it". They wonderful bakeries, plates, sandwichs, soup and all the food is wonderful. It worth the detour.

Pierre Tremblay

Great industrial mall in the centre of town ... Houses Art is In and Capital Rehearsal Studios and many other great businesses.

Matt Crooker

The have a snooker / pool hall , an axe throwing place and more. Also an Indoor skate/bike park across the street.

Alex Seaver

Parking lot is a little wonky but worth it to grab something delicious from ArtIsIn Bakery.

Eko Bachtiar

first 90 minutes parking is free, come here often for walking. local bakery Art Is In is nearby, definitely a must visit!!! very popar and the line might be very long even for breakfast ...

Terry Colpitts

Good location, good food, lots of outdoor dining under a dome, free parking, fresh brewed craft beers, desserts, breads and more. Lots of free parking.

Paul Gomes

While the area has been upgraded from the dump it was 10 years ago, the parking is still a mess...particularly in finding access to the upper level and parking there.

Eric

Such good treats! The croissants, the bread... All so tasty! Well worth the wait on a Sunday morning

Gladys Galay

The best bread in town. Well worth the trip. And the avocado toast is to die for.

Colin Noden

Art Is In bakery and Beyond the Pale brewing. The Tool Library. Makers Space. And a variety of other shops make this an interesting destination for lunch.

Julie Gonçalves

I wouldn't label it as a shopping mall ... But if you're looking for a trendy place to have brunch, lunch, a local craft beer or a group activity you've come to the right place. I grew up in the area and it's amazing what this has transformed into. Very happy to see it doing well and not get turned into a condo building.

Richard Gagnon

They have interesting shops. The only thing is that the area is oudated. It needs some big Reno's because the aesthetics are not particularly great.

Denis Morin

I went there to throw some axes with some of my colleagues and I was greatly surprised and enjoyed it a lot.

Yacine Bouzid

We went to Art Is In Bakery on Sunday! Overall, I will say "ok" but I'm not seeing myself driving again there! The food wasn't worth the price we paid as well, the layout of the bakery wasn't great too.

Elizabeth “Liz” Breton

Definitely worth checking out the restaurants, brewery and pool hall! Such unique offerings in a unique location. Breakfast, lunch or dinner this strip has you covered.

Jean-Gabriel D'Amours

Only attend to go to the bakery. Weird parking policy, it is odd to follow if its your first time attending or if its cold outside. (Have to run back and forth to the pay station)

Daniel Laprise

This place has best bakery, best beer, best pool hall and best cross fit spots, what more can you ask for?

Sam Wong

the best place i visit all the time is art is in and mikasa hom furniture. amazing places here.

Brett Adam Capwell

Cool little industrial park. Beer, a world class bakery, an art gallery... What's not to love

Father Naomi

Beyond the Pale and Smoque Shack are my go-to.

Grace D

Visited Kinemedics and Art is in Bakery, found everything I needed and topped it off with a tasty!

Jean-Philippe Bousquet

I visited the place to try out Beyond the Pale brewery, which was great, but was disappointed that it cost money to park there, especially after 5pm This is a shopping centre.

Jennifer Kazimer

Great little area with Artisin Bakery. Orange Galleries and a pool hall. Parking is free if you go to the machine and entre your licence plate number.

Maxim Zakurdaev

Place is disorganized, it is not clear what businesses are open

will billingham

Visited kinematics if you have a need for any medical braces

Nina Nguyen

Post-industrialized area a bit off the city centre, with a new offering of gentrifying commerces: an innovative bakery (Art-is-In), a famous local microbrewery (Beyond the Pale), a specialty endurance sports shop (Euro-Sports). Also has art galleries nearby.

Kristy Ready

Great little hidden gem. This place is really picking up steam. Super cool.

Keith Hanlan

Interesting and eclectic bunch of places including an awesome bakery/restaurant and the Odawa Friendship Centre. Good location on transit way and close to Little Italy and Chinatown.

Patrick Dean

Giant parking spot. First 90 minutes free but don't forget to get ticket.

James Poortinga

Only went here for Beyond the Pale brewery, amazing beer. Love the Pink Fuzz...plus they have a tasting area...cool industrial feel

David Vance

Have worked there one day a week for a few years now , (capital city rehearsal studio)

Jean-Sylvain Sormany

Overall, city center is a crappy place... not judging the stores, but parking is hard, it's an eclectic place, a lot of junk. Just go there if you have a specific shop you already know you want to visit.

Peter Blouin

Nice selection of interesting business. Home to Beyond The Pale Brewery.

Bunny the little crapper

It is a growing mini-mall area. The place was about to be condemned several years ago and now there are little businesses paying to lease the bays. It is improving. Artisin is a great little bakery. There are businesses on the second level, you take the ramp at the end of the road and drive up. The area was never designed for retail so its kinda awkward the first time you are there.

Chris King

Lost of excellent local businesses and startups. Amazing to see how an old abandoned factory can become a thriving hub of activity. Can't wait to see what happens next!

Ken Halin McKay

Great place to go to. Some great businesses. Hard to find but worth a visit. Food, Billiards and great speciality shopping.

Tim Inglis

Beyond the pale brewing makes epic ribs.

Chris

Nice location, very convenient

Rebecca Bowling

I love the brace place! They have great customers service! If they don't have the items you need they will order them and make sure your comfortable. The place is super clean and everything is professional!

Erik Lindemann

And she said city centre used to be the centre of our scene. Now city center's over. No one really goes there. And then we used to drink beneath the railroad bridge. Some nights the bus wouldn't even stop, there was just too many kids. -The Hold Steady But seriously it is a perfectly cromulant shopping centre with neat shops and a pretty rad brewery.

Glenn

Free parking for the first hour and a half, a few good places to visit (Beyond the Pale, Art-Is-In, Ottawa Tool Library, to name a few.) Gentrified and trendy if that's your thing.

Emmett “Wolf's Bane” Hill

Fantastic hidden gem, you can get desserts, beer, play some billiards and check out some local art all in the same compound.

Scott Watson

Was at hi Tronics to drop off amp and reel to reel for repairs. Have a short wait because of being short staffed but that's ok

Claude Guay

Love what they have done with this old truck warehouse! Lots of small businesses and parking. Theirs a brewery and a great restaurant. Have to check it out.

Mr. David Vance

It's easy to find and there is a great many small businesses including beyond the pail brewery

Ronald Dean Taylor

Great place, one of Ottawa's best kept secrets.

Taylor Hui

It's quite run down and if it were not for Art-Is-In Bakery moving in years ago, I don't think sane business would move in. The whole place remains an eyesore.

Dan Rethier

Did some work in that area for the new pedestrian path

Allison Burton

Totally awesome mix of food and fitness and other spaces. The parking lot needs to be fixed though!

Steve Morrier

This is not a shopping mall. Still lots of interesting stores and restaurants. Even a good brewery.

Diane Ashby

I love City Centre. I love the ruff industrial park feeling. But it offers refined products. Artizin is an excellent bakery and eatery. The owners of the Orange gallery, know how to take advantage of the quality of the historical building and the art it harbours by renting the space for special events: opening parties, weddings, art classes, etc.

Greg Francoeur

Great all in one place

Sally Thomas

This place has a relaxed vibe, good accessibility and a good menu. It would earn 5/5 if they developed a 'near beers' list for guests who don't drink. It's a brewery. They need to brew a few!

Mark Brougham

Interesting spot with lots of shops and businesses.

S Dubs

Went to Beyond the Pale for some beers. Hands down best craft beer I have tasted. The Pink Fuzz is amazing and the Aromatherapy knocked my socks off! Just be careful as these are strong beers with higher ABV.

Yve Schram

Too expensive to justify sitting in a glorified parking lot. You have to love hoppy ales to enjoy Beyond the Pale, overpriced breads to enjoy Artisin, etc, etc. The only business worth it's spit is the Axe throwing Bar and thats just hearsay from a friend.

Roger Barrette

That is where one of the best sandwich bar, bakery reside. Art Is In is a must place to stop by if you are in Ottawa

Kyle McCulloch

Beyond the Pale, Art is In bakery and a funky little furniture store? What's not to love?

Poutine Master

Little hidden spot with lots of great shops and bars I find it weird that you need to pay for parking but if it goes to good use why not. Beyond the pale is there great food great beer classic summer get away.

Justin Cranford

Dark, dank, and dated. They area is old and could use a lot of improvement.

Jay Themusicman

No offense to any of the businesses here, a couple of which I frequent, but the property management are freaking terrible. My car literally fell into a crater and had to be TOWED out. Their response? "Send us the bill, see if we pay it". Months later, no surprise that they haven't. Unparralleled negligence

Steve

Very strange old building with lots of cool places. Parking is a pain though since it costs money.

RP

There is a fantastic Bakery at this location, Art-Is-In, from breads to baked goods to great gourmet sandwiches, soups and entrees. The prices are averaged for these types of gourmet eat in or take out restaurants. The lunch wait time is worth it.

David Bruce Scott

Lots of parking and easy to get to. Great selection of shops - especially Art-is-in Bakery!

Jesse B

There are some rrally cool hidden gems here. I go for the Art is In bakery mostly but here's a cool microbrewery, a wood working ship and a pretty hardcore looking gym that might be fun to try. I also get my massage therapy done at the physio clinic in the tall building and hey are great there.

JF Clark

Beautiful place and awesome people and the draught was delicious. Keep up the good work guys.
