You have the information of people who are consuming the services of Midtown Mall (Mall) near Oshawa (Canada).
At the present this firm has a rating of 3.2 stars out of 5 and that rating has been based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that the average of ratings is average, neither too high nor too low, and it's based on a very large number of scores, so we may think that the valuation is very faithful. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to place feddbacks when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Mall is included in the category of Shopping mall.
Not the greatest place to go for Drive test right now due to covid. The staff do try but when I had to go in they had 3 lines going no social distancing., people were not wearing masks. One lady that worked there wad extremely rude yelling at people with no mask and getting in people's faces. I ended up leaving and contacting bylaw enforcement who did ho out, and reported back to me that they did see many violations and they would be keeping a close eye on the location.
Small weird mall. Does not have any real shopping stores just government stuff and i think a dollar store.
Midtown mall is ok, there are a few good stores. The OW office and resource centre are both located there. The resource centre is a great place. The mall has really hard benches that aren't great for sitting though.
I'm just visiting from out of town for the first time and this mall is kind of a weird little shanty strip mall that you would find far in the east or west of Toronto. More or less abandoned and you're never sure if it's even open, certain stores inside close at different times and pretty much the only worthwhile thing that I see is Dollarama. There's a Café here that serves lackluster food not worth the price and the mall itself is pretty out of the way. I think a grocery store here would make a lot more sense rather than a triOS college and a ReStore furniture depot
This mall is only hanging in by haveing the drive test center in Oshawa. Slowly falling apart from its old glory days when there was a Canadian tire.
????
Midtown is a joke as a shopping mall. The only thing it's good for is the convenient Service Canada location and the dollar store
A discount store that's well organized mostly. They have a 5 day return policy if you don't want or need I your purchase.
A little treasure ok for a mini mall, something I would expect in a smaller community, a few more vacancies currently, but we will see what happens next time I go.
The mall itself is a bit rough. I don't recommend spending time. Just grab and go! There are good stores like Factory Direct, Treasure Hunt and Dollarama. There is also Service Canada and Service Ontario together.
Bought my son a Christmas gift, opened it Christmas morning and it didn't work. They have a strong no return policy.???? It was the only present I got for my son and it didn't work.
This place is sketchy. Its a dead mall, very few people come here. Would advise not to go there alone.
Good place to buy daily stuff. It also have Drive Test center, Service Ontario, Dollarama
I only go there for shoppers drug Mart it's very busy
The only thing keeping the small relevant is the driver's testing center. Due to the amount of people on Ontario Works, the public mall bathrooms are always locked.
You can get better prices on clothes elsewhere for better quality just by looking around. As the name suggests perhaps if you have the time you may find something you're looking for but I didn't have the time. First time there though.
Obviously one of the sketchiest lookin places around here, ironically has the most important buildings in there with the drivers test, service Canada and Ontario.
It's hard to rate this mall as it's rather service oriented. Social services is in the building. It's nice and cool inside, but it's a small mall consisting of mostly liquidation places. There is a Habitat for Humanity Re-Store, along with some flea market type shops, in terms of random stuff to be bought. This mall also has a Factory Direct which is a pretty good location here. However they have one of the best Dollarama's around town here in Oshawa, so try not to overlook this location. I rate it four stars for the unique places it contains, however it pretty much feels as if tumbleweeds will roll past you any minute as it's not a busy place. Hopefully some more actual stores will come into this mall at some point.
Nice mall. It wasn't as crowded due to th pandemic. It also has a service Ontario, places to eat, washrooms are clean.
Very quiet neighborhood, lots of business on site with free ample parking available. Not crowded too
They need to add in stores if it’s called midtown mall
Old as dirt and very run down. Many of "Oshawa's Finest" tend to hang out in the area. Stay away unless you need the government office or taking your driving test.
Some good stores The area was a little run-down but with some fixing up this could be a nice mall. Decent dollar store location too, But sadly it is only open till 5pm
This place is on life support. It either needs a complete overhaul or just shut down entirely. Unless youre specifically going there for one of the 2 unique businesses there, youre better off just going up the street to the Oshawa Centre.
It's pretty dirty and overly unkept. The only good shop in that mall is LA Nails. They do beautiful work.
Basically the malls dying but there's still a few gems if you dig deep enough not sure if it's worth it but depends on the person
Just visit this place to either go to Service Canada or Service Ontario Wait times are minimum at this location
This mall has got almost everything you need, including service Canada! Clean and spacious (there are some vacancies) and good food available. The area itself however is full of drug addicts and less than desirable people that seem to hang around its outside. Do yourself a favor and avoid this area at night time!
Dirty place needs repair desperately half the stores your clothes and be nice have a grocery store back especially for the two senior buildings up on the corner only place where they can go shop bad management
The 70's called they want their mall back. Nothing but a service Canada and very strange parking lot (IMO)
Staff was very friendly and helpful, everyone was attending to the customers.
Small strip, not alot of stores. Only reason I went is because I had to wait at the drive test center.
I went to Service Ontario to get my car sticker and was in and out in under 4 minutes. The lady was very friendly and very professional. Great experience.
Mall is dingy. Of it's not for government offices there would be nothing there. No coffee shop inside, or something to eat
I went to get my haircut. Exterior door had to be unlocked for me because everything else was closed.
There are mostly few government offices. There is a dollarama and few independent owner businesses.
Very helpful little place, and you can do quite a bit of different shopping it's very nice.
It's been kind of a ghost town since the Metro closed but there are still good stores there. The little deli/lunch restaurant on the south side is exceptionally good AND CHEAP. Custodian is cranky. Don't walk on his wet floors. He WILL yell at you.
Little bit ghetto but has some good things there like Double Double Pizza.
The place was very busy
Treasure hunt it is...just random things placed on shelfs so you will need to really get in there and move stuff around to see what they have as they get all sorts of things week to week. I found some really nice house decor there at a great price. They have vacuums, kitchen appliances, gym equipment, lots of toys, shoes, clothing and much more but I highly recommend you use the testing station before you leave as some I tested did not work. You have a 5 day return on all electronic purchases if it does not work. But the prices are good and staff was friendly.
Ontario works, service Ontario, Durham community legal clinic, all in one place? very handy for a temporarily homeless guy like me, who needs a break. ???? there's also the drivetest centre here, as well as the ReStore and another in the north end like value village (Mmmm thrifty assorted goods) ooooh and a factory direct store: good stuff there too! also a good number of little shops for Tshirts, glass smokeware and accessories, and delicious food! the Dollarama is pretty big here too. kind of a thrifty budget mall for people like me who can't afford much if anything lately. thanks for resisting gentrification, midtown mall! ????
Most people wearing masks but not everyone. Really long lines at service Ontario.
Think it's time to Reno seriously government rents there and the bathroom is gross let's get work done here make Oshawa look more presentable l
It's kind of the way I imagine a mall would look like in Yakutsk, circa 1950's
Great security and maintenance, kept clean, can find many well priced items in varied stores, including important resources for government, and free sources and phones to use for any public to utilize. This place can get you I.D., dress you, provide multiple home decor items, license you A-Z, find you a job and home, and even provide a great meal afterwards.
Mall needs facelift. Needs better vendors. Better change to a condo complex.
I usually go to Midtown Mall for one thing. Treasure Hunt. They’ve always got great deals there, but most importantly their staff displays the most excellent service when compared to anywhere else in the GTA. Unfortunately they are closing down. ????
It's a pretty poor mall. Very few stores open and nothing worth visiting. You only come here when you have to, like if you have to go to Service Canada... That being said, I'm sure it holds a special spot in the heart of many Oshawa locals like myself. It's not a terrible place, unfortunately it's just dying out.
I like to see what habitat for humanity has and I came out with a ice breaker shovel and some tile spacers for $10.50. Got small 3$ piece of dry wall her too ,the week before.
The service Canada here was actually quite fast and not so depressing a much better experience then when it was on king Street
Best place to get the G Test, just be nice with the staff. They are human too.
Parking lot is an accident waiting to happen. Mall is old and would serve better as a plaza rather than listed as a mall.
Pulling up I was a little skeptical that I was going to make it - but I needed to get all the Service Ontario things done. Once inside it felt a bit better - and I have to say the SO ladies were very nice, fast and made it worth the wait! (Minus all the fees of course). In the heart of Oshawa is an interesting place but overall an ok experience!
Midtown mall is ok.Its not a very busy place. Most ppl use the dollar store there. They now have the welfare office there. They also have the birth certificate office.
Unless you need to go there, don't. Too many homeless people roaming about.
This place need to be brought up to date and maybe change from loud hand dryers to ones that are quieter or paper towels instead. I had my nephew into the washroom and he doesn't like loud sounds and all this washroom had were things that made loud sounds. They need to be more considerate of people that have special needs plus getting into the washroom was hard without any handicapped buttons to hold the door open
Big and spacious mall. Lots of parking space. Many people come to this place because Service Canada and Oshawa Drivetest Centre are here. There are some stores with good deals inside the mall too.
It's okay. Not a lot of stores.
I have known this place all my life. When I was growing up in late 80's and early 90's it was the place to be. Santa went there for pictures. So many shops. Fast forward to late 2000's and it was an empty rotting shell. With a fee good stores and the government. I will say for a while you had to deal with riff Raff kind of people and criminals. Now with added security it is a lot safer and the inside is all cleaned up. There are a hand full of good stores setup inside. And service Ontario moved in here not to long ago. The mall is getting better and finally looking towards the future. Pizza, convenience store, electronic store, bargain hunting store (old grocery store), dollar store, government of Canada and Ontario, nail salon, hair dressing and lotto booth and much more. Congratulations to the mall on cleaning and renovating the building and getting good business to move in. I expect in next ten years it will look like a completely different mall.
The drive test centre has huge lines and not the nicest staff.
Went to Service Ontario to replace plates. Service was very good.
Was here yday. Small n silent mall... has a service canada and drive test centres inside. Not a big happening mall.
The stores are decent for whats left in this abondoned looking mall . parking lot is horrible. No baby change station in the washroom.
LOCK YOUR CARS!!! WAS APPROACHED 3 TIMES FOR CHANGE JUST WALKING INTO THE STORE.
A run down mall. Lots of homeless traffic . Good center for unemployed . Nice cafe and that's about it. There's an Ontario works program there.
I was excited to see the Treasure Hunt after hearing positive feedback; however, I wasn't too thrilled. Everything seemed used, opened and highly overpriced. I will stick with Dollarama or Value Village for thrift shopping thanks.????????
As always the push buttons at the northwest door weren't working
Lines too long for drivers Course
Service Ontario has the worst customer service ever! They were already upset and sharp at 9am. I know it's a tough job, but can we please put some "service" back in to Ontario service. Just wanted to change my address after moving and I felt like I was bothering the clerks.
Best place to find your drugs. Ask anyone. Especially the people who zombie walk
Very friendly staff!
Went to armed forces, nice people. Lots of parking.
This mall really has great potential for the area it serves, it's pretty much completely dead there.
Just sat on the bench closest to the creek and pondered life. Hiw there was life in this once over crowded mall now nothing only the Dollerama that seems to keep it going.
good place to buy stuff. the variety store is great, cheap prices. and if I had kids, I wouldn't shelter them! people that are homeless are everywhere. Im from Toronto, Oshawa is Nothing compared to there. people who have money are druggies and drunks too! etc. just be aware of your surroundings. if you're living life, you will see many things!!
Better as a bar.
Midtown mall needs a makeover its badly kept but on the bright side many stores have good bargains for a quarter of the price.
I can't stand this "mall". It's more of an eyesore in Oshawa than it is a shopping mall. No variety of stores at all and it's showing its age horribly.
Visited to get vehicle transfer and registration done. Staff is quite helpful and courteous in dealings. However a single Q is made for all kind of jobs seekers, which can be made more efficient by making Q by category of type of work like MTO, Health card etc.
Not what it use to be but the shops are pretty good
Its okay but outdated and only has factory direct, Dollarama, The Beer Store, treasure hunt and a nail salon a jewelry story and cafe. Service Canada too!
Visted Service Canada for information. There was no line up and only three staff working, with a security guard at the door.
You don't want to be there after 4:30pm If you have IBS as they lock the restroom doors and pretend they are cleaning them. They put a bucket and mop outside the door and leave it there til mall closes.
Went habitat for humanity store...but really the area is very unsecure
What was once a great place to shop, it had all your needs, is now a wasteland. If it was not for the government offices it would make a great parking lot.
Last time I was there at night they locked me out of half of the mall so I had to walk outside the mall around their poorly lit parking lot to get to my car. A dangerous position to force people into at night. Why would they lock up their mall in a way that results people being unable to get to their cars while customers are still in the stores doesn’t make any sense at all.
Outstanding pricing but 99% of the products don't work, and when they're returned (5 day policy) they're often put back on the shelf. Out of 6 purchases, we had one work well.
Still a few great stores and gov't offices, but this mall is a mere shadow of what it used to be 25+ years ago.
Had my G test here today and Audrey was a chilled out instructor. Finished the whole test under 18 mins. No parallel parking or front parking. Even though it was snowing heavily the test was smooth with no hiccups. Just be confident and your good.
The three stores they have are great.
Used to be a very nice Mall with high end stores. Now, bargain shops and government offices mostly. The new owners are not very friendly nor helpful. Would recommend that you visit the Oshawa Center instead.
If you've been here before, then you already know. If not, it's eh. Not the best of places, and nothing I'd really call a mall, but if they've got what you are looking for, it'll do in a pinch.
Crazy busy MTO location. Long lines due to Covid but staff outside trying to move things along quicker.
Sadly, this mall is falling apart. Stores are always closing, the bathrooms in the mall have always been filthy when I have visited, and the employees here do little more than what they have to in order to remain employed. This mall used to be a nice place to visit, but it hasn't been properly maintained for a long time.
Very low number of shoppers at this time, only a few businesses are opened
Lots of parking as well as ample spots for vehicles with disability permit, wheelchair access and a washroom for the public too. It is always clean on the inside with friendly staff. It's a no hassle grab and go if that is what you'd like...lol.
If you like abandoned malls with a functioning Dollarama and enlistment office this is the mall for you. Pop by the crappy restaurant on the side for their daily special of Chicken Curry and Rice, for like $5 you get a whole quarter chicken that is marinated in a "has sat out in curry for a week and been cooked twice" kinda way, then pop by Dollarama where all of life's worst decisions originate, you can top off your day by joining the Army, or going to TriOS. As you can see, this mall has it all, none of those fancy store that think they are better than you. So come on down, stay a while, and enjoy Midtown "Mall".
Lots of good quality merchandise to be found there at the Midtown mall
Not much here now. The walkways are not even done in winter. 2 of the important one's never touched. I plowed this place for 5 years, it was always perfect. Now it's treacherous
It has great potential, there are many services Gov't and more ,the Restore is my favorite Store aThe Salvatio Army on King street in Oshawa is a great resource for those in need, they show no shame upon u or anyone else that is in need and at the end of the day you will be proud and no doubt Honored to give it back as I have been.....homeless and alone ,my tears have now become tears of Joy to know that out there ,there are others that really do care and actually do something that shows that their Love is Genuine and their commitment is unquestionable,we are Truly Blessed EAB!
Run down. Not much in the mall anymore. You can almost always find addicts doing their drugs in the bathrooms.
The gov't building here has had a huge line up. No where for disabled people to seat to wait thier turn. I have been here 3 times to renew my health card and had to leave because of long line up and very slow service. Other then that I love Habitat Canada, lots of doors, antique tables, couches. No tax!!! Yah! Great little mall to discover! Cannot compare it to Oshawa Centre. Because the Oshawa Centre is Hugh!
Visited to donate to the restore. Parking lot is very full of people lined up outside due to covid.
Basically all stores closed except for drivers licensing, health cards a bit of line up but fast service and onthe other side you get your passport
Not good selection to shop. Stores are often closed just as quickly as they come. It just doesn't have the popularity that the oshawa center does.
It has Service Ontario & Service Canada across the hall from one another, and has a few shops to buy stuff at. And I found Boston Cream donuts with the original creme inside. Not like Timmy's, very good find. And tasty.
Dollar store rocks! I buy something because I need it now. If it keeps doing what it was meant to more then that job then it is a bonus and most times it does .
If you're going to Service Canada or Service Ontario make sure you bring something to read or keep yourself busy because the lineup can be long but the service is great once you get to the front of the line
A little bit quiet and not a lot going on I guess because of Covid-19. I enjoyed my visit at the Habitat for Humanity store. If lucky you can get quality items for a fraction of the price.
Very empty and alot of it is almost like a flea market. Feels very scarce at all times and only reason to go there really is for the electronics store and Ontario Service Center.
The first time I came here was for my driving test, which I passed. YAY!! There are so many stores inside, such as Dollarama, Treasure Hunt, Service Ontario and many more!
The treasure liquidation store is a miserable place with an horrible business policy. If you buy something and it does not work you are screwed as they have your money (no refund/no exchange/no luck). They wont be around for long so they do not care. Avoid at all cost.
A nearly abandoned former "mall". There are hardly any stores left and even those that are left probably won't stay for a long period of time. It's empty and eery. The only customers to this "mall" visit the pizza location, the bargain store or are there for their drivers license test on the far side. Gut instinct tells me this mall will be sold for development soon.
Love it, I go there often. Now for a smaller mall it's got some great store's and rumor is that the old metro is going to be a food basics which is totally awesome I can't wait. Did I already say how much I love this mail.
Had what I was looking for and friendly service and security clean nice atmosphere
Whats there to really say about this place? Its nothing special, you can easily see what stores are located here. If it has a store you want to go then I'd suggest this place, other than that I dont think its really a mall you would go to just to walk around and browse.
It is a flea market with vendors from Pickering. It will be great once all the spaces are rented out. I shpped at the Newfoundland store for chow and cookies.
Place has a deserted, run down feel to it. No shops of interest for me to go back. I was there only to go to Service Ontario to renew accessibility permit.
The new Treasure whatever store is just a bunch of broken things or hideous clothes. There's not much going on here other than the Drivers place and Dollarama.
BIGGEST AND BEST SELECTION IN OSHAWA FOR BONGS AND ALL ASSESORYSAND MORE..... DEALS ARE SO GOOD , I WONDER HOW THEY MAKE MONEY SOMETIMES...... SERIOUSLY. ITS A COVENIENCE STORE , THATS BETTER THEN MOST BONG SHOPS LOL HAHAHA. LOVE GOING THERE TO SEE NEW WEEKLY PRODUCTS.
Great old style mall, expect extra long waits at the DriveTest and Service Canada.. it is in a good location unfortunately a lot of central Oshawa "characters" like to hang out and about this mall. Not a very comfortable place to be, especially after hours
Needs a big Reno and to have quite a few stores put in. It would benefit with a food court and possibly a larger store as a main attraction such as old navy
The smoke store here is remarkable... Great prices and guy is so friendly and despite viewing the lady being very rude to others perhaps it's warranted because she is awesome with me :)
You can buy drugs there
I wasn't to impressed with the caretaker. Given it's the Midtown mall and is in a terrible part of town I should have expected the treatment I received from the guy. But I was very offended to be judged by him. Not everyone is a vagrant or crackhead. I was a shopper. Other than that the customer service throughout the mall is 100% awesome. I especially like the people at treasure hunt. You guys are awesome help. I lost my phone twice there and was found and returned both times. Thanks guys
I mean... I only went because Servuce Ontario is there... this mall is in need if a huge makeover.... a good cleaning as well. Don't use the public washroom ????????
I didn't actually go in to any stores. I waited in car while my daughter did. Very glad I had my dog in car with me as there was a large group of what I assume are homeless people at the edge of the parking lot. One of which came across the parking lot right up to my car. He stopped about a foot away when my dog stuck his head out the window. The man who appeared to be under the influence of something then stood there for about 5 minutes with his hands on his hips starring down my dog. When he tried to reach out his hand for my drivers door my dog growled and barked causing the man to leave. First time I felt unsafe in Oshawa.
Drive test at Oshawa very busy, staff too many but not enough room for others and require social distances. See the pictures no social distances at all. Big line up but no shade at all. Please bring your umbrella, water bottles, chair. Better go to peterborough for all test. 40 minutes drive but it is worth.
Great neighbourhood mall Needs a grocery store in it and it would be even more better There needs to a no frills or something in that mall
Service was a lot quicker then other locations . Looked like a long line but did it moved fast
Good place to visit. I managed to hunt down a brand new Hamilton Beach Microwave and Bread Maker and purchased them 50% less than retail price. Lots of appliances. You might find some good toys too. Be sure to open the packaging and check at testing station before you buy.
This mall is always full of either homeless folks or welfare recipients hanging around outside asking for spare change, security is of no help as they are to soft. We are always worried about parking our luxury vehicle out front as you never know. Clean up the outside and basic upkeep you would have a great mall.
Stores like Factory Direct and Treasure Hunt make for good deals. More of a discount mall.
Some very nice items at discount prices. Found very good designer jeans for only $12.50, KitKat Chunky bars at $2/4.
Good place to park and enjoy the Oshawa Creek path to Lake Ontario. The 401 Simcoe bus will bring you back if the return trip is too much.
Not much here but a dollar store and the odd street person asking for loose change or a smoke
Enough custl alot of nice shops that have come there only to move or close,it's the high rent that keeps going up, not shoplifting, there's not a
A scary ghost Mall full of Druggies and sketchbags. The only useful things here are the government offices. The mall would be best improved by using a bulldozer and knocking it over.
It is very lacking. Not much there and homeless people are all over its really sad
It's disgusting here. The homeless sleep under the bridge on the far side of the parking lot. Don't come here at night
Not very clean. Many shops closed or gone. Would be nice to see a large chain food/grocery store.
Not much happening at this mall, if that's what you can call it. Pretty much the only reason why people go there is to go to service Canada or service Ontario. I went to get plates and transfer a car to my name. There are stores in there and I cannot imagine them doing that well. But there was one clothing store that had some interesting items and was very reasonable. Hoodies with various graphics on it, leggings, accessories. The guy running the store was very nice and helpful.
Old mall not handicapped accessible in all parts of the two buildings which needs a major face lift. Service Canada and Durham works in this building. Federal and provincial governments need to smarten up and offer all their services together in one building.
This is the home to Service Canada as well as Service Ontario. The mall has Dollarama and other small businesses.
Just love the daller store and the great staff there....plus beer acrooss the road ...good combo
Nice and peaceful place for shopping and dealing matters in Service Ontario and Service Canada.
I really enjoyed a nice home-cooked style breakfast and or Burger here and reasonably priced
It's an ok mall... not as busy as in its heyday, but you still have choices... among them is Service Ontario to get your license and renewed, Factory Direct is in there as well
Looks old and scarry
Very cheap...I went to get some shoes one time...found a pair but didn't feel right. Under closer inspection I realized they were different sizes, I asked about it but they were the only two of that type in the store...I obviously didn't buy them however as I left they put them right back on the shelf, lol.
Its got all the legal building inside it sevice canada passport place drt all thou's also the chip truck there makes good fries be carefull outside is riddeled with bums and other unsavory people.
Best thing about this mall is that it has Service Canada, Drive Test Center, Security Guard License examination center, Dollarama etc. You visit once and find everything easily!
Service Ontario and service Canada office are here. These are the only reasons to really go here. Has a factory direct as well if you're into discount electronics.
Older mall but still alot of life in it and in a good location. Service Ontario, Service Canada and Drive test are all located here. During my visit there was a long line up of about 30 people for the drive test centre and about 7 people in line at service Ontario on a Tuesday around noon. Service Canada was closed, however it does look like it's setup for social distancing. Theres a Dollarama and a few restaurants and shops and a barber from what I could see, all open. Another thing of note that was closed is the Durham office located in the mall, however that looks more like a long term closure.
Loved that Service Canada and Service Ontario is in one place. Renewing your drivers licence and health card is super easy here
Bathrooms are disgusting, parking is not too bad at times. The government offices are easy to get to but for shopping there's nothing really there except the Treasure Hunt...every other store either has very poor service or nothing in it.
Great place to hang out with the homeless and junkies
Not good for shopping Very little stores left mostly government offices
Parking lot is in rough shape. Be careful driving through because other drivers don't tend to follow traffic rules. Lock your doors.
When I first heard about this place, I was thinking of a store similar to Goodwill but it ended up being opened/damaged products and expensive shoes and kitchen appliances. Some clothes seemed to be reasonably priced but overall I will not be returning to this store. It was dirty and I found the store name misleading.
The Mall is dead. If not for health card and plate renewals, there is tenant that draws you to the place
It's got some good stores in there the convenience store is cheap but owner is shady he complaints about using interac cause he has to wait 2 days for his money if you can't wait for interac to pay you maybe you shouldn't have a store
It midtown mall. Building needs to be demolished. Sorry. Barely a "mall" Service Ontario, Army recruiting, Service Canada, a dollar store. Sketchiest mall in Durham.
This place is very bad and there are people who do not respect customers and also the people who test people are very, very racist. Beware, I took the test with a very, very racist person
Very clean inside and shops are easily accessible. The exterior however, is in a continuous state of disrepair and clutter can be seen across the entirety of the parking lot at various times of day. It is currently under new management and the staff seem tense. It is no longer the friendly place it used to be.
A few anchor stores/services. Mostly vacant, but worth a visit if ony for the Habitat for Humanity Restore. Definitely check it out for upcycled or unused extra building materials for you next project!
This mall is almost dead.
The mall is old and run down with poor lighting. The only reason I was there is because this is the location of service Canada. There is a Canadian Forces recruiting office her as well.
Manager ?? of Treasure Hunt made me feel unwelcome in the mall since I showed up in my vehicle at 8 am intending to shop at 8 am. Flipp app said Factory Direct open at 8 am OR I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A POTENTIAL UNWANTED VISITOR TO THE MALL BEFORE MOST OF THE BUSINESSES OPENED. BTW the coffee shop was open and I did not enter the mall until 8:05. I used to frequent this mall in the 70’s - early eighties, when growing up in Oshawa. You just lost a potential customer thanks to suspicious and unwelcoming ?owner/manager/employee of Treasure Hunt. I do understand that security of mall is key, however go about it in a friendly way please. I am disappointed too, because mall is conveniently on my way home from GO TRAIN where I frequently drop my husband off in the morning.
Bad location for this mall
Very quiet mall with a few treasures, there are funs stores where you can find a variety of things at great prices.
Some qwik pick ups fast friendly service in and out sorry I couldn't shop properly
Very dirty, I understand there are ppl homeless. But cone on clean up your mess please
I gotta give this mall credit. It's never really been a great or even a good mall. The one good thing it had was Canadian Tire that left. Then that restaurant in side the one that sold thoes roast beef sandwiches Oh my god they were so freaking good . Back to my point the mall has survived this long cause it's got some good stuff still
Large parking lot which is nice however the fact that they don't turn on 3/4 of the street lights at night when this is a constant walking path all night is terrible. The lights exist however that lot is dark. Give your head a shake management.
Pretty clear the only reason this mall is still open is because of the Service Canada Passport Office located in the building. Seriously DEAD MALL.
Was a good little strip mall back in the day but it's fell down hill hard.its to bad to see it lose alot of stores it has alot to offer for the area but nothing seems to stay open now in their
Clean mall P part owner of one store well run.. Ill
Everything is closed, majority of the business moved out. Feel sorry for the local busines folks.
Went to renew ohip card mall basicly is just a government office building now
Been in here recently for the restore. Friendly, helpful staff overall. Good prices. Love to see a lot of stuff that a high potential of being installed/useful again.
There are a lot of merchandise to choose from. The price is anywhere between 50% to 80% off. Since these products are reclaimed. 50% off regular price is not worth it in my opinion.
Mall is basically empty although I was at Service Canada. Very quick service and no line up.
The only good thing about this mall now, is that they put all the gov't offices together. (Per say) I'm not sure why they took away the 'Metro' grocery store. It was really the only close grocery story in mid Oshawa. Especially for the elder folks in the apt bldgs on John St
Nothing inside or out full ghost town. Run for your lives if a zpmbie apocalypse came itd hit here first
A lot of useful places inside, such as Service Canada, Service Ontario, Dollarama(dollar store), Drive test (get drivers licenses), Treasure Hunt, is a good store to get discount items, and Beer store near by! Just don't talk to anyone outside.. ahaha
This Review Is For The Treasure Hunt Store. Google changed it after the review was published. This place is definitely the place to go if you want to sort through thousands and thousands of tonnes of broken things, to hopefully, finally, find the pen you came in for at a drastically reduced price. There is so much junk here, I don't even know where to start. Legend has it that a 27 year old man wondered in here, some time in the 90's. His wife and the locals searched for weeks, but it was too much. Even the authorities and their search dogs could not penetrate the accumulation of trinkets and broken toys. The search was called off, and the wife moved on. The kids call Uncle Dave "daddy" now. They are adjusting well, but fleeting memories of a different father come and go. They are young though, they will make it through. The memories of "search party daddy" will fade, and Dave will continue to bang their mother unopposed. Luckily, after my ill-advised excursion to this store, I managed to make it out alive. I went to buy my son a toy. I was walking through the aisles, wondering if I had mistakenly slipped through a portal to an auto-wreckers, when I spotted a totally sweet toy that my son would love. It was a remote controlled flying Batwing, the awesome plane that Batman flies. This is a $160 toy. At Treasure Hunt, it is a $30 toy. Alas, my friends, there is an unsurprisingly good reason for this reduction in price. I grabbed that Batwing faster than Caitlyn Jenner can ductape her penis, and I headed for the door. Men with grey beards and outdated fashion choices sprung from either side, begging me for assistance, begging for news of the outside world, but I soldiered on. Eventually, after hurdling over pink haired feminists having a misogynistic shoe fight or something, I reached the checkout lane. I placed the Batwing on the counter and asked the cashier to quickly take my money. I could still hear the groans of men, lost men, begging for direction and complaining about "that bastard Dave." The cashier, after congratulating me on making it out, asked me a question I was not expecting. She looked me in the eyes, and said, "Does it work?" I was confused. The store was asking me if the product, that I was buying from them, worked. That is not the way this works, usually. She pointed to a table and directed me to take the Batwing to the table, open it, and make sure it was working. I was told to secure numerous Batwings and create one, mighty working Batwing. I was to do this. I was. The customer. The one buying it. Confused, and scared of change, I walked to the "testing table." It was a nightmare. There was a smoking coffee grinder. Beside that, there was a talking pony making death threats in Spanish. There was a desk fan, slowing running backwards and an MP3 player that only played Nicki Minaj songs, over and over again. Really sick stuff. When I saw Wall-E throw up gang signs, and heard the Pixar lamp yelp in pain, I got the hell out of there. My son never got Batwing. Cashier was friendly, good selection of Tupperware, cheap phone cases. A--
Such terrible place I ever seen. The security guard is the worse person in the mall. I would give a bad rating for hire such security guard!
Not much activity but Service Ontario, service Canada and driving test centre are main attractions!
Intresting place for old stock of clothing, toys and lots of other stuff. Got a great deal on Gap sweaters for my grandkids.
This little Mall in a Centre of Oshawa has been here for a very very long time every once in awhile I always find we stopped at 2 here to not only live old times but to see what's new there's been a lot of transition over the years with a small and it has gone through quite a bit. This is a great little Mall in the Centre of Oshawa that has great parking it has a good variety of stores with a major food store restaurants and a licensed Bar and Grill
This place should really just be torn down. What a dump. The only reason anyone that is not a junky goes there, is to use service canada or service Ontario. When you hear someone refer to Oshawa as "The Dirty Shwa", the midtown mall is what they are talking about. It's just a waste of real estate.
Be careful! Prices are amazing yes but sometimes things don't work..this happened a few times with toys. One was for my son's bestfriend birthday and it wasn't a cheap toy..it.never worked. Some things you can return and some you cannot so if your worried..i would ask to try it out before buying.
Got my toes done great service
Dollar rama where everything costs more than a dollar it should be called 3 dollar rama
Sometimes come here with my bestie....Did today he needed some stuff for building hobby he does...I just grabbed some seamless hair ties and gummy candy ????
Service Canada's reception person was rude and obnoxious. Would not listen to instructions i was given by main office with regards to intra office mail delivery. He was rude and sneered at my explanation of other directions I was given. And his wages are from tax funds.!!!!
Midtown Centre is a very outdated and quite empty mall. If it's not because of Service Canada for Canadian passport purposes, wouldn't even think of coming to this mall. However, people who are working at different stores in this mall are all very friendly and helpful and because of this, I have given a 3 stars.
Looks like there cleaning it up or trying too
Bit of a junk store but if you are afyer something specific, you may find it here at a good price. Aleays chevk out your elevyronics before you buy. They do have a place for you to do that.
When people wanna destroy a 8 year old memory by have homelessness and empty outlet creates avoidances to experience what was a love mall
Not as busy and organized settings for customers to come in and shop or do whatever they had planned.
Mall is almost empty. Barely any store fronts. Great for service Ontario and other stuff like that but if you're there to shop you're out of luck.
Large parking lot. Clean mall Ministry of transportation is at the front of the mall. Service Ontario is at the back.
They are getting more organized, you need time to search through stuff but the staff is very kind and helpful.
The Dollar Store is a quick and very friendly shop. The ReStore also very helpful and friendly service.
It was deserted the only thing open were the government offices and the Dollar Store.
It is a good place. Specially service ontario and service canada in front of each other and even with less people ????
The place to go for health card and driver's license renewal
