Back story: Early in November of 2021, my fiancé ordered two Christmas stockings, for us to the tune of $67.80 including all taxes! Fairly pricey, but for locally crafted small-town business…it is what it is!
The store ensured “1 week” turn-around…and that they would “call us” when they came in! THEY DID….the stockings were on-time, well-made and beautiful!
Skip ahead 5 weeks….we decide to order 2 additional stockings, on December 21,2021 (4 days before Christmas) FULLY AWARE that they wouldn’t be ready for “at least” a week.
The store advised “we could pick them up, around January 4, 2022” when they would be completed, and that they would ….”call us, if there were to be any delays in production”.
Having heard nothing, we went to collect them on the 6th of January 2022, (two days AFTER we were told they would be in-store).
The young lady working (not the lady we ordered from before Christmas) was nice enough but told us…”I don’t know anything about the order, but I can have the owner call you this week!”
We left our phone number (again, as we had left it at the time of order, with full payment back in December)
A week goes by, we hear nothing!(Crickets)
We revisit at the beginning of last week around the 18th of January 2022. The owner is there and tells us….”she is sorry, she forgot about us, and would speak to the crafter, and that they would be in by Friday, and we could come collect them”
We returned Friday, January 21, 2022 and much to our surprise….STILL “no stockings”.
We present our receipt and ask for a refund, and they swear up and down that they will be in “the next day”, so we go back….AGAIN!!!! (Yeah, we trust people too much) on Saturday at around 10AM.
Guess what?!?!?….still NO STOCKINGS!
*BUT , they tell us to “come back in 45 minutes and the owner will have them here”….So we do some grocery shopping and come back!
FINALLY….they are there, but the owner left it up to the poor girl working the counter to give us our product. The lady who identified herself as the owner, was in the store, we saw her….but she didn’t have the “stones” to “fess” up to her mistakes, offer explanation for their AWFUL customer service, or offer a partial refund!
Their products are nice, and generally expensive….BUT we would NEVER return! Save your money, buy elsewhere!!!!
*We have ALL of the phone interactions and face to face transactions recorded or on video, except the initial one, on 21-December, because we did not anticipate this place being such a disaster! We would be glad to share them with anyone who asks!
