We've got the feddbacks of real people who are buying the products of Shelbourne Plaza - Fairway Market (Mall) in the territory of Oak Bay (Canada).
At present the business has a score of 4 over 5 and this score has been calculated on 127 reviews.
As you can see the average of ratings is positive, and it is founded on a very large number of opinions, so we can say that the rating is quite credible. If many people have bothered to leave their score when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to set scores when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Mall belongs to the category of Grocery store.
They don't really offer a wide range of fresh veges, otherwise staff is very friendly and great service
Great selection, fresh food. Some items are pricy, but overall best groceries store in a 30 block radius.
Wish they had a bathroom. Nearly peed myself
Great place to grocery shop. Good selection of ethnic brands and exotic fruits and veggies. The fresh produce can hit or miss. Biggest drawback are the poor quality foreign meats (ie. Beef from Australia)
Not sure if I want to give it 1 star, but afew months back cought one of their staff preparing the salad bar after his fingers went into his nose. Past the info.to his manager nothing happened this worker still work there?!
Great selection of Asian foods. I had not been here before and was pleasantly surprised by the selection.
I always find stuff too expensive here. But if you need some Asian food, it beats any other grocery stores for selection
I miss living closer to the Quadra Fairway Market, it's a great balance between cheap prices and good quality. For Asian produce, especially, it can't be beat for variety. If you are looking for fresh udon noodles, lemongrass, shimeji mushrooms, and offal.. or olive oil, parsnips, multigrain cheerios and apple juice: this is the best one-stop market in Victoria for the price!
From my point of view, Fairway Market has the best prices for meat (i.e., chicken, beef, and fish). Quality is also fair. However, if you want to buy baby stuffs (e.g., food, formula, etc.) I suggest to go to another super market. Finally, what I love from Fairway, is the food zone that they have!! Chinese food!. Also, near Fairway you can find Fujija which is my favorite place to buy sushi.
Be sure to check the dates on EVERYTHING you buy there. Out of my 10 items I bought today, 3 of them expired over 6 months ago. Discusting!!!!
This store got a lot better after its upgrades. Now the checkouts are understaffed and the lineups are very long and slow moving.
I really like shopping at the Fairways. They have good selection. Cobbs and M&M Foods are favourites as well.
I'd usually rate this Fairway location a 4 or so, but I've been really frustrated with some of the employees lately, and today pushed me over the edge. Never buy their deli or over-the-counter "hot food". Not the 1st time feeling uneasy …
I like that they carry ethnic foods. Reasonably priced grocery store
Their customer service is seriously lacking. And the food in the deli hot case was questionable. When i watched the grocer scrape the potato wedges from the dish, i should've declined. And the food was lukewarm at best.
Newly updates to parts of the store, salad bar added, large selection of Asian and other ethnic foods. Lots of free parking and fairly good prices.
Fairways always has a great international section to pick up those odd ingredients or delicious snacks that I crave. It's like a grocer plus a specialty store all in one. Also, the baking section often gets me super excited with sesame buns or BBQ pork buns or something equally delicious!
the cashiers are really clever and witty. sometimes i like to throw a curve ball at the till and the cashiers always stay sharp and hit it right out of the park. love it.
Good selection of groceries and reasonable price
Handy little plaza. Fairways is what you expect, decent selection. Great selection of Asian foods especially.
Very good prices and specials. Lots of Asian foods, plus a new hot food section. Staff goes out of their way to help. Parking can be a handful on busy days
Great selection of Asian foods. Hot food bar with lots of options and deli. Good sale prices on meat. Would definitely recommend their international selection. Lots of European delights.
Great store. Good location. Excellent selection of items for Asian cooking.
Ok selection etc. but very mediocre floor management of tills, line ups etc. resulting in longer lines than other places. Doesn't seem to be anyone with a broader picture managing things, just focused on immediate task with heads down. Price alone doesn't do it all
Best prices in Victoria for a medium-sized grocery store. Excellent variety featuring an international section. Produce is always fresh and beats competitor prices.
Parking is usually not an issue. Convenient location. Great selection of Asian foods.
We found this market to be very expensive. Staff are good and the checkout area is cleaned almost on a minute by minute basis.
They sell various asian instant noodls, cookies, meats, fishes. Reasonable pricing and quick stocking for new products.
Good strip mall with a couple of angles; the parking lot. Good grocery and liquor stores with pharmacy, bakery, nail salon and assorted eateries. Bike store as well as Starbucks and laundry services.
Great. You can buy anything here even Asia stuff. Foods and vegetables fresh. First time to Canada and dont know how to buy cigarette but staff very helpful. Shoppers nice. I like western chicken broth and mozzarella. I begin additing to the western cheeses like dictator Kim Jong Un and I gained weight significantly when i in Canada. Poor me, may I blame Fairway ? In short you should go there and forget other brands especially you from overseas
I love the variety of foods from around the world. As well, I enjoy the convenience of hot chinese food and salad bar for meals on the go days,
My favourite fairway by far. Not too big not too small but always well stocked with my favourites. Staff are very friendly and helpful
I have shopped at Fairways for many years and I personally feel they are 10% less than the competition. As a result it is a No Frills shopping experience.
Dirtiest store everrrr....never shopping there again!!..And they must be family there cause their always yelling at each other ..scaring people like myself..knives in hand chop chop!!
They have a lot of Asian food and snacks that are otherwise hard to find. Very friendly staffs too. Now I go there all the time to get grocery.
It's a grocery store that will do in a pinch but unfortunately the staff are always a little cranky or just not pleasant. They always seem like they hate working there, which is a sad work environment. I recommend going to save on foods down the road.
Good produce and service. Great area in the produce and deli section as you can get many different treats. I like to go here for my Chinese produce as it is way closer then having to go to China Town to get the same things. Just carries that little bit of better Ethnic Products that make this a nice place to shop.
They are starting to sell more Mexican food (traditional spices and stuff we use to cook traditional meals). I really appreciate that!! I don't have to go to the crammed fairway on quadra anymore! Besides the fact that this one is closer to home!
For their deli Chinese food skip it and go to the quadra. st one. At Shelbourne, it has generally been sitting for a while and their portions suck. Every time I go here I look forward to the experience I get at quadra st and I am gut …
not sure if/how they are monitoring the number of people in the store, but it all seems to be running all right
Had everything I needed in one spot.....laundry supplies, laundromat, liquor store and lunch. Grocery store line up all the way down the Aisle because cashier had overcharged a customer. ???? Sorry.....no photos!!
Good international food selection and decent produce section. Meat section has great deals too.
Only two cashiers open and 20 people lined up at each one. This was the mornimg of April 7, about 10:30
My favorite place to shop no gimmicks cards etc just good prices. Its my place for most things especially the meats sections
Got some chinese take out from here. Nine bucks for a thing full of rice and like 8 pieces of ginger beef. Enough with the rice, give me some meat. I won't be back - big rip off.
a clean store, with employees who actively sanitize stations between each shopper. No masks required, but are recommended. They don't have directional arrows like other stores, but they are smaller than most. …
Decent selections, a bit pricey, but what really bugged me was the meat. My friends, and I buy meat at other grocery stores now because the meat at Fairway always left us sick, and seemed past it's expiry date but left on the shelf.
Great selection of Asian/foreign foods but tends to have a smaller selection of goods/produce compared to other supermarkets.
Busy grocery store with lots of interesting foods from around the globe and local. Lineup moves quickly plus I believe it is locally owned
Best grocery store for blocks. Huge selection of Asian food makings
Good price on fruits and veggies. Varied options of ethnic products. Sometimes long lines at check out.
Excellent selection of Asian goods.
I like Fairways, unfortunately the produce and deli is located in a different part of the building from the rest of the store.
So many Fairways in town however this one is located in the Shelbourne stretch. Parking lot has always vacant spots any time of the day. Stocks a wide variety of Asian products. Produce is …
It’s got a retro feel to it. Friendly and helpful staff with a good selection of ethnic foods.
Tons of variety and full of culturally diverse foods as well as regular staples. Relatively cheaply priced compared to other grocery stores.
Love this fairway, amazing international isle ( ╹▽╹ )
A favourite stop to stock up on vegetables and Asian condiments. The new deli is great and good meat selection. Check it out!
Staff wearing masks, lots of cleaning going on and wiping conveyor between customers is very much appreciated by this customer with a high risk household!
Been going there for over 20 years. They have the vegetables I love that other grocery stores do not carry. As an immigrant, that's amazing!
Rude staff and expensive prices, find somewhere cheaper and less annoying to shop at.
Added in 2021 Again… got scones with mildewed… ------- …
It has great selection of Asian foods. The staff is always friendly. It can be very busy though at certain times of the day like 4 to 5 and at lunch time
There are T&t s in Vancouver. We have fairways here in Victoria. It has more Chinese food selections then the grocery store in China Town. Many Chinese restaurants get supplies from there.
Clean covid friendly store.. lots of great products.. good prices and never too busy So great place to shop especially if you're pressed for time
They sold me 6 boneless chicken breasts that expires in two days (next time I will look better but even then I dont think that shoild have been up for sale) but other than that it was good.
Not much selections and I found it to be expensive. But the meat products were good
Produce 1/10 - 4, never ripe enough to my liking so it sits on my countertop until it's too old an ends up in my garbage Staff 1/10 - 5, meh, never knows where anything is,they all wreak of highschool …
Dont come here for the hot kitchen food. Its a rip off. They give u like 50% less than the one on Quadra. Not very generous portions at all. If they werent so cheap i would come here a hell of a lot more. Management please train your staff to be more generous with the portions and i guarantee youll sell 500% more food.
You have 2 banks, grocery store, cobs bread, M&M meats, Starbucks, A&W, Booster juice, Oregano's pizza, little Thai place, frontrunners, Mac's cycle centre, liquor store, and marijuana dispensary. Perfect place to stop (for me anyway) on the way home from work.
Great Chinese food! The ginger beef is probably the best I have had. Great friendly staff, too. Next time I feel like take out Chinese food, I'm going to the 3651 Shelbourne St Fairway Market instead of a restaurant.
They have the best fairway grocery store of all time
Shelbourne more like Shel-boring. Sure I can buy a sandwich, radishes and a loaf, bread or otherwise. But what else can I really do here? I recommend the plaza get a laser tag facility
Best general supermarket on Vancouver island with great selection of ethnic food ingredients. The bigger locations are best.
Great prices, not super busy and a solid selection of food stuffs
Great international shelves and a solid Canadian grocery to back it up
Janelle is the worst cashier and handles customers poorly, stereotypical wouldn't even believe me that the Tide laundry soap was 17.99 I even ran back and had to double check still she didn't believe me. She wanted another stock boy to do it and found out it was also 17.99. I thanked him in Spanish.
Very expensive. Hardly any good deals. Meat and produce second quality at high prices. Chinese people won't buy Chinese food here anymore.
Where is the security guard to prevent overcrowding? Cheap take out Chinese food is good.
Typical Fairway store, decent prices a large selection of Asian products but nothing to special.
Good selection of international foods. Prices are a bit higher but still reasonable. Service is mostly friendly.
There is no service of quality from cashier who worked in the No.7 checking out desk this afternoon at all. I am understanding about the staff shortage during the COVID-19, but please training the cashier properly for serving in polite way!
Product mislabeling. Usually, this wouldn't be an issue, but the way in which it was mislabeled is insensitive and completely disrespectful to Taiwanese. If you can put "product of" for all the other produce, why can't you keep doing that for Taiwanese cabbage as well? There was nothing wrong with how it was before. Saying that customers should obviously know that "China sweet Taiwan cabbage" means "Taiwanese cabbage, produced in China," is either lazy and ignorant, or intentionally condescending. Also, for what reason do you have to put there secondary information (country of production) before the actual product name itself? On a different subject, I've found them selling 3 packets of moldy noodles.
I have been to the customer service desk twice in the last few weeks and both times the employee (different person each time) has been really snarky in their attitude. I have not seen either of these female employees before in all my months …
Do not expect the cheerful, helpful staff that you will find at other locations like McKenzie or Quadra. It gives the rest of the establishments a worse name.
Unfortunately, I can promote this place as there have been numerous occasions where I find mold on the food here. Produce and meats..... It's a little gross when u see some nice green fuzzy on your juicy steak. Prices are OK with Save on …
It's okay as a smaller grocery store. They have a good deli section. The staff has a workable grasp of the language, but with a mask on, they cannot understand what you may want and my order had to be repeated numerous times. I found the …
They have a great international food section, and tons of instant ramen noodles.
Very possibly the worst hummus I've ever tasted in my life. I spent the next eight hours hoping I didn't have food poisoning. Fortunately, I didn't, but I don't think that merits a second star.
I had a very bad shopping experience in this supermarket. When I checked out, the cashier told me impatiently and asked me to put things down. And when I put my briefcase on the table of the last payment, she was very unfriendly to let me put it down. Recommend not to buy here, don’t check out at window 5.
