Ray is amazing! He is the owner, has so much experience, I'm always happy and satisfied when I leave his salon. He's got a nice team, but I always go with him. He understands what I want, he makes feel comfortable and gives knowledgeable advise. He speaks Spanish and when I'm there he plays Spanish music. He knows his clientele and how to make you feel good. I've been going to him for more than 5 years, and I'm not going anywhere else.

First time in this location and overall experience was good. I had my hair cut with Nikki in their Eglinton location and it was good, this time time I went with Sami and he was really good at what he was doing. I showed him a picture and we were discussing it for a while before he started his work and the end result was great!! Obviously your experience here mostly depends on your hair stylist and I have no experience with the rest of them. The only (weird) thing I noticed which I think they should improve is that there is no sitting area if you wanna wait for your turn!!! final notes: you do get a hair wash before the trim. You can walk in but they can get really busy, so better call them to book an appointment

I have gone to this place a couple times now and wasn't disappointed until today... The person cutting my hair seemed like they had absolutely no idea what they were doing. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and told him I really did not want it too short and specifically told him that I wanted to be able to flick my hair backwards. I ended up with a short haircut with way too much gel slapped mostly on my forehead. Here's the story: While he was cleaning my hair, water was dripping in my eye, he then dried my hair as if I was a dog. During the haircut, he kept hitting me with his scissors or pulling my hair way too hard. Again, I felt like this was the first time he was cutting hair. Something unrelated to his technique but he had extremely bad body odor and smelt like sweat, which made the experience even worst. At the end when I asked him if he could gel the hair back a little, he slapped on way too much and got most of it on my forehead and then said "I hope you're happy with your haircut"... They try and act nice by giving you tea (they get mad if you don't drink it), but this is just to cover the incompetence. The worst part is that the haircut costs 29$... I would love to give this one star, but I'm putting two because my previous three experiences were good. I don't know who hired this guy, but he definitely learned how to cut hair on youtube last night...

Do not go here. The hairdresser cut my hair terribly and when she washed my hair the water's so hot then the blower too, poor service! and they will charge you 45$ and even ask for a tip. lol. poor customer communication. I'm so mad and I have regrets going in this salon. It's not worth the penny, I SWEAR. Never ever go here.

Ask for prices before you head in. They charged me $30 even though the website says $26. I asked and they said those were old prices. Also make sure to mention that you don't want product, they applied some nasty stuff on my hair that smelled like a grandpa...I had to wash my hair several times for the smell to come off. The guy also wanted to take before and after pictures to post it on his instagram, which is a little awkward if you just want a haircut, I don't need to be part of anyone's social media. I will not go again, too bad since they are so close by.

Have you ever walked into a salon looking cute and walked out a mess? That's probably one of the top 5 most annoying situations ine can endure. I went in just to get my bangs trimmed. I asked if they were comfortable and knowledgeable working with curly hair. They insisted they were. As soon as i sat down she took my perfectly defined curls and took a fine tooth comb to them to stretch them down to the length i said i wanted my bangs to be WHEN CURLY. I mean, technically the story shouldve ended here. But the way my social anxiety is set up....it was hard for me to peel myself off that chair. She proceeded to cut bluntly across my nose bridge. Another no-no when cutting curly hair. I spoke up and said i don't want it cut bluntly...she didnt understand. At first she jist jist a one layer fringe. I had to push her to cut a full bang. She was insisting that wouldnt look good....but i had the style several times before and even showed her a picture of exactly what i wanted. She said "okok" and contijued cutting my hair bluntly across taking off more and more length. I said i dont want it cut straight. She mustve heard i want it cut straight across because thats what she started to do instead of framing my face with the bangs. I stopped her. She said she thought i wanted it straight across. I said no, and tried to again explain to her that i wanted the opposite of a blunt edge. It was futile. She then blow dryed my hair straight to show my bangs to me. My hair is CURLY!! I WANTED TO WEAR THE BANGS CURLYYYYYYY!!!! I asked her to wet my bangs so they can be dried with a defusser attachment. She asked if i wanted product, I said yes please, a curl cream. She said ahe didnt have curl cream, only mousse. I said i hate mousse, my hair doesnt like it, either. She insisted it was a "light mousse" and that id be returning to sing its praises and she continued slathering my hair with it. Sure enough my hair dried into a crispy, stringy mess as I had feared it would. At this point I just wanted to escape. I paid and left. I really shouldn't have even paid. My bangs are now too short and my hair looks dry and gross. Maybe if youre Iranian and speak the language and hair the hair theyd be a good place for you. If you dont fit into that category, dont bother.

VERY VERY disappointed in the straightening treatment. It has now been just over a month since I had the treatment and was promised smooth silky hair. Instead, my hair is now extremely dry, coarse and more difficult to manage. Also, I have subsequently had a lot of my hair fall out. I have had to spend money on additional conditioning treatments to try and remedy this mess! Unfortunately I am going to have to wait for my hair to grow out. I did call to express my happiness and asked for a refund – but this was refused. I will not go to this salon again. They have ruined my hair. I had to give 1 star in order to post this review - my preference was to give no stars.

I recently seen a special at this place for $25 for a WASH, CUT & DRY. I was leaving for vacation in a week and need a coif. I inquired and made an appointment. My appointment was scheduled for 9:30am and on the day of the appointment I showed about 15 minutes earlier just to be sure. No one showed up until 9:35am. Late already, no of the stylist or service reps were able to open the door. I waited for 30 minutes and had to leave for work. I rescheduled for the next day same time. I arrive the next day and they had no record of my appointment, not a big deal as they took me in right away. I confirmed the special that I had walked in for and they said they it is only a cut, wash and no dry. I advised to them that I inquired twice and the answers I received were it included all three services. They "owner" said they would not give it to me. I had to leave as they obviously needed the business to put the special and in addition to that, I was not going to pay any more than that for a first time visit. The ladies were rude, irresponsible, unreliable and bad enough for me to take the time to write this review. Do not go here!

Got my nails done here with Shellac, it was a pleasant experience. It's been 2 weeks and I really haven't had any chipping or anything. Lady did a great job and at $25, how can you go wrong? Only wish is that they get more colours of shellac nailpolish, their selection wasn't bad, but it could have been better. It would be nice if they started a binder with pictures of their work on others. There were no examples of nailpolish styles/patterns to choose from.

I'm an appliance technician who came to fix RaysR dryer for the second time. The problem was electrical that I'm not supposed to deal with FOR THE SECOND TIME. And my dispatcher told him, that if it will be electrical problem, he will have to pay the service call again. He refused to pay when he realized it was the electrical problems and told me " I won't pay anything, you can call me to court, I don't care" and I left without anything after wasting my time and money for him. I hope you can guess what kind of a person he is, I wouldn't trust doing business with this hair salon.

Disaster, first and last visit. Went for a haircut and my stylist recommended a highlight refresh. I chose the shades I wanted and after the towel came of I had lots of Dark Brown low lights. I asked why she had not used the colors I chose and she said her boss thought these would be better. Just spent a pile of cash to get back to where I started, first and last visit, very unskilled colorist. AND very expensive! To placate me they gave me a bottle of cheap shampoo, never again.

What ever you asked the hairdressers they didn't listen and changed it to something of their liking as opposed to the customer's preference. Worst Experience Ever. Do no be Fooled. I decided to have my Bridal makeover by Ray Daniels. Supposedly the make up artist had 7 years experience. From the start she brought in a small make up bag. I should have left at that point. She brought me into an isolated room where no one from my bridal party could see me. She showed she was not experienced at all, repeatedly asking to see a picture of what i wanted over and over. While placing artificial eye lashes she dropped the liquid into BOTH my eyes. When i saw my face after a while, i was horrified. She painted my eye brows red'brown misaligned it and i have Dark Black hair not to mention she completely wrecked my eye brows.. My face was painted completely white, whiter than my dress. I asked her to stop and i want to leave but she insisted she was not done and stood in front of the door not letting me open and go through. She did not let my mother in law into the room and was completely rude. They did not let my photographer take any pictures of the process. The hair dresses were horrible as well. After the entire disaster having trolled hair bridal party with horrible makeup and wasted two hours with not one person completely i still had to PAY! My day was almost Ruined. I strongly suggest who ever decides to go here stop! CROSS THE STREET and head to FIORIO They are professionals very experienced and well worth the money. They saved my once in a life time experience.

Do Not Go Here! I walked in to remove my shellac nail polish and was told it would be $10 however when I went to pay they told me the lady who removed it is new and could not speak English and the cost is not $10 ( even though it said so in the pamphlet). Also to add she butchered my nails when removing the shellac, she shaved off my actual nails, did not buffer or file my nails after. This place is unprofessional and I will never return and recommend anyone.

Arrived at the hair salon at 5:50 PM ish, closing was at 6:30 PM. Ended up getting a haircut that was comparable to the 5 dollar haircuts at Chinatown. I wanted some fix ups but they wouldn't close one minute later than 6:30 so I was told that it would be a "second cut" and I would have to come back again and pay extra. Ended up paying around 30 dollars for a brutal haircut. Do not try this location - you have been warned.

I have received a gift card for Ray Daniel salon and spa for the holidays from my boyfriend. I looked at their voucher as they had variety of options. I was interested in getting a facial and maybe to add some massage to this package. I have booked an appointment with Lilian on the phone for Dec. 28 at 12:00pm while asking her few questions on the packages they offer, with very little knowledge she mentioned that once ill get to the spa the facial lady will explain more. I had arrived to my appointment waited about 10-15 minutes as Lilian approached me and apologized saying that someone did a mistake and changed my appointment to Dec. 29 at 12:00pm instead . i was very disappointment as it was complete waste of my time. She took my number and promised to give me a call later that day and mentioned a discount. Since no-one called, to confirm whether I have the appointment or not at 12 I called at 11am on the 29th. Lilian picked up the phone and once again asked for my number and promised to call me back within this hour. Its currently 12:30pm and still haven't heard a thing. Does anyone know how can i get my money back? as for now with this poor service I would NOT recommend this place. On Dec 30 I called all the locations in the voucher, seems as I spoke to the owner in center point as she was extremely mad, she explained that her business had changed to a different name. she also mentioned that she requested from the owner, Ray to remove her number from the voucher, and she even sent him lawyers with no success as her number is still there. I continue calling the other locations asking to find out the head office number which Woodbine centre finally provided it tome. I left a message and still heard nothing. Called again to the original location, Empress walk the owner Ray, picked up the phone. Very politely I asked to address my concerns, he mentioned he is with a client and asked for my name and number, which I provided. Patiently, I waited for his call but heard nothing. All I wanted is to get pampered a little just before New Years , must say the most frustrating experience ever. If I could I would give them 0 stars. Highly not recommend.

My experience was horrible after getting my haircut from there. The hairdresser did cut my hair too much short. Moreover it was not uniform, one side was longer than the other. Even after showing her a sample picture she could not follow this. My hairstyle like a nightmare to me now. In terms of recommending this salon to others, it is 100% NO.

Have availed service from Ray Daniel Salon (RDS) for over a year now and still continue to do so. The Salon is very good and the stylists are very professional. They offer options like Jr, Sr, Director Stylist haircuts, with reasonable prices. They do hair wash both before and after. They are courteous, understand your need before they start working on you, and do a great job. Mr.Ray, if you get to meet him, offers you great advise on hair-do based on your facial structure. The man is very pleasing while at his work. RDS also has some great products for hair style, hair fall and different needs. I recommend RDS anytime for a great experience.

I asked the price and they explained it was $45 for long hair but only $35 for short hair. Mine was tied up so I guess she couldn't tell. I went there as it is close to my work. I asked why the price difference. The receptionist said "It's like that at all salons." I said "No it's not." She was still arguing her point as I walked away. Very rude and dumb pricing. I would not recommend it, seeing as that is their idea of customer service!

Horrible experience. Went in to get my eyebrows waxed. Told the stylist right away that my hair is light and sparse and to be very careful to only wax strays as if she waxed the actual hair it will not grow back. She said ok but she didn’t listen and ended up waxing a hole in my eyebrow! I called the owner Ray who apologized and said he would make it up to me by refunding me and giving a free service, he told me to email him photos, and he would call me back. He never did and refused to answer the phone when I tried to reach him. I went in person to get my refund and he refused! He went from being so nice promising a refund to dodging my calls and refusing to honour his word, after he told me he’d call back. Why? My experience with him is that he is dishonest, greedy, dishonourable, and does not care about customers at all. The other reviews say the same thing about him- he comes across as slimy. I don’t understand how he is still in business with this behaviour, esp in such a high rent area. And I still have a hole in my eyebrow to this day.

I suggest, DO NOT GO!!! This salon and spa is not worth it! Went for a shellac pedicure and its totally a disaster. The lady doesn’t know how to do it! I told the hairdresser twice that I would like my hair not to be shorter than my chin and not too short near the neck because I didn't like it, I showed her a pic of what I wanted (I always show the same picture) and she replied that she knew better. I've never had shorter hair in my life! I wanted her to only dry them quickly (I live close to the salon and didn't want to pay for something I could do at home), she insisted (and didn't give me a choice) and started to blow dry my hair. I hate my haircut and it's not what I wanted and of course won't come back here. I thought the reviews were a bit harsh but it isn't. She made me pay 10$ for the blow dry which is nice (I didn't have much hair left anyway). Plus, my hairdresser gave her notice for December 9 and you can feel that nobody gets along here.. EDIT : Thanks for your reply but she left Dec. 2018 as said in the previous comments. Thanks for your (very late) proposal but I moved back to France since then. Good luck with your business!

This review is for another branch of the same salon! Avoid there seriousely! It was the most horrible experience I have ever had with a hairdresser. I walked in asked them if they can do gray-purple-blue color on my darkish brown hair, and they said: "For Sure." Then I made an appointment, and I emphasized I do not want any yellow or brownish color in my highlights and they reassured me that wouldn't be the case. Long story short, my fancy Gray- Blue-Purple color turned out to become white (like an old woman's hair), a nasty yellow, and brown and all burnt out!(see the photos). During the highlight process, the hairdresser suggested why don't you let me dye all of your hair in Ash-Brown? I had some gray hair, and I accepted that offer. The process was so long and stressful(about 4 hours), and the hairdresser wasn't sure how to make it work! They even couldn't do a simple dying on my hair, and I still have all my white hairs (as you can see in the picture)! I was so unsatisfied and sad that I was about bursting into tear, I walked up t the salon manager and asked her "Please look at my hair and tell me what is fair to do?" she said your hair had been over processed and you have to pay!!! We can only fix it for you a t a later time & she charged me $100 and didn't even apologized or any kind of care about my satisfaction. She was just focused on getting that money! In a few days, I walked back in and asked for a refund! Although they admitted my hair was a disaster, they refused to refund me and insisted on fixing it. I told them I Do Not trust you anymore (neither your skill level nor your customer service), and they said there is no way we can refund you!!!! When my friends/colleagues saw me they all asked if I was suffering from a serious disease which was turning all my hair into white. I am going to sue them for this and will publish the result as broad as possible. The moral of the story, if you do not care about your hair, want them burnt and ugly, if you want to deal with a management attitude of " I only care about my money and customer satisfaction is not even bother me" then make it there! I promise you wouldn't be disappointed!

The worst haircut i have in my life charged me $220 did not follow the color and instruction i told her...not coming back....crying out loud????????????my friends are laughing at my haircut nobody liked it....im using extentions to hide my ugly hair cut....also my neck got an allery for the color sat on my neck for too long...nobstars for this salon...pls follow customer instructions...i will be wearing this ugly haircut for months.....???????????? no stars for this ????????????????

There was a middle age man there who ripped me off (I believe his name was Reza) . I told him do my highlights for 80$ and in the middle of his work with my hair , he said ' I added toner for you so it will be extra charge' . at the end , they charged me with 140$ and he completely damaged my hair . After his "excellent highlights" I had to do hair extension in order to cover the damage up. I do not recommend this place to anyone .

It's been years now that not only me but also my family and friends are going to Ray Daniel in both locations "Empress Walk" and " Eglinton" (Mostly I go To Eglinton Location with my Father )for hair cut, color, etc and we all always have been happy with service and the job they have done for us. I personally Always have my hair and eyebrows done by "SAM" (Saman) and never been happier with the outcome of either one. I don't even dare to change to try someone else. Always been very satisfied and impressed with his job wither for hair or for my eyebrows. He is always very welcoming with a very good spirit and attitude and above all he always care a lot about you and his job and makes sure that he met all your expectations and job is done very carefully and delicately. He is passionate about his job and never rushes and takes time to have his customers happy when leaving the Salon. He even goes beyond sometimes to show care to his customers. The whole staff at Eglinton location are super friendly and feels like home and family when we visit them. Highly Recommend both Sam and Eglinton Location/Staff.
