Beautiful life size bronze of a moose at brewery, but my pic didn't turn out ! *Bring a light jacket or sweater* Today was a heat wave but not in the fog belt!

A charming destination in old Victoria with many funky shops and restaurants. Whistle Buoy Brewery and the Drake Eatery serve excellent beer and take up much of the courtyard space. They alone are worth the trip but there is so much more here. Most places are wheelchair accessible, but you might need to ask for directions. Some places offer a ramp and others have a back entrance for chair riders.

Not the biggest, but a whole lot of charm. The design of this area was so whimsical and fun. The public library and New Brunswick Museum are located inside as well as several restaurants, offices and a couple of shops. A great place to relax inside, take a few photos and then have some fun learning something new.

Nice place, good food court. Security guards always misinterpreting actions of young people and mishandling situations. My daughter banned from there for no reason years ago when she was a teen, its like the security guards have nothing to do so to justify their pay they think they gotta stir up trouble then fix a so called problem just to try to look like a hero or something. The market square has plenty of food places to try. Also explore the area to get a feel for the culture of New Brunswick. When we went, there was a lot of restrictions to where we could go because of renovations and the stage set up for performances. I encourage you to check it out if you are visiting St John to get a feel for one of the hearts of the city.

Library is here. Some shops and food court. Free wifi, but it blocks a lot of legitimate and even local sites and you may get kicked out if you are hanging around after 6pm even if you are just using wifi and keeping an eye out to make sure the roving kids don't vandalize stuff. The owners are very receptive though and really do want to make real improvements.

Market Square, as pure shopping destination, is thin, in terms of retail. There are a couple of long term tenants however, it is home to some great eateries including the Saint John Ale house and others. Connected inside to the Saint John Hilton, the Saint John Tade & Convention centre, underground parking, Harbour Station, The Market Square Boardwalk, the Saint John Aquatic Centre and Brunswick Square, it truly is in many ways the center of the city. One of the best facets of Market Square is the incorporation of history from the original buildings into the new, completed in the 80s.

It is plagued by being a tourist attraction so there are a ton of vendors selling the same Canadian memorabilia but there are some gems like the fresh seafood and the home made foods and treats at some of the stalls. also the fruit and veggies don’t seem to be farm fresh but you can take that as you wish.

Market Square had always been a fun place to visit, especially with out-of-towners. Due to COVID many of the shops have closed their doors, but Avalon is still there, plus there's still great food to be had - and now there's at least one beer garden! If you are doing a tour of downtown - whether as a visitor, a pub crawl, or just a normal walk to or from your car - make Market Square a stop on your list.

Covid Public health necessary rules are having a dire economic effect here as well as Brunswick Square Mall. Walking from and to the Parking Garage five days per week is depressing with so.many small businesses now closed. If I had to limit Market Square to only 1 great thing, that amazing thing would be Green Cuisine! We wish we could go there every day. There are actually a wide array of merchants and services at Market Square. There is a great spot to get diverse art and craft supplies; an impressive camera store that buys and sells!; a public beer house that samples amazing craft drinks; there is occassional live music in the square; places to lock a bike (if you bike around) and public washrooms (during certain points in the day. There are also grooming services for humans (hair removal places); a college; vintage clothing merchants and more. The physical features of the courtyard offer respite from the busy streets and peopled on-goings of busy downtown Victoria. Fixtures, placards, info bits, architecture and the famous fountain also grant insight into Victoria's history and growth. There is so much to see and do at Market Square. Go there. Everyday, if you can.
