We'll folk's this is far more then just a store there the BEST in the city for hundreds of kms around the Frist I bot this PC and bloody nice at that but when I got it I didn't test it on the spot battery was low and in a hurry so I got and as the day whet on plugged in and it's charging so i thot it was so fun I didn't realize that it was not taking a charge so I called then they talked to me like a person so i take it in thay chqed it and it was true not charging so asked me what like do well to make Short and Sweet thay gave me every cent back no hassle needless to when got a PC from gold&pawn & power cord and ???? wires thay what do you what it's used yes but if have something like thay talked me a dirtbag on fixed income and like to treated like a true customer true the HOCKSHOP in fmall bath Rd you will be talked to like a human thay r the ???? meaw chow.

I went there today to buy a piece of jewelry. I browsed the store 1st. I found the prices in the tools section to be very high for used items. The lap tops were also over priced.......but I did however find several good deals in the jewlery department. The lady who helped me was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful.

These guys and ladies are amazing! My last trip in was to pick up a set of tablets and Brandon and Adam were great. Have only been a buyer here and had nothing but positive experiences although have had friends sell item's and always had a fair if not above average return on their products. Buyer or seller they always make you feel welcome and no pressure sales. You know you will be seeing us in there again.

Very friendly staff, and accommodating if you need a few extra days to buy back your items. Different prices are offered depending on whether you plan to retrieve your item or sell it outright - both of these are low, so if selling outright, try other options first. One staff member in particular, Adam, was very patient and helpful when I brought in a large number of DVDs to sell, which he had to check individually for scratches. Give him kudos if you meet him!

Not Recommended. The guitars Hock Shop has for sale are worn, damaged and cracked, but priced as guitars in mint condition. You would get a better deal for a guitar off of any online website or any yard sale for that matter. I have also noticed other items for sale at Hock Shop that are in terrible condition, yet priced as if they are in mint condition. You would be better off to shop at any yard sale or thrift store.

Oh my goodness where do I begin, we pawned put TV because we needed extra cash the hock shop staff was always very kind and good about always appreciated it. Recently retrieved our tv took home plugged in to our shock screen was damaged and pushed in. We made our way back to advise them of the damage now keep in mind they were always good to us except for this time when we had thus issue the staff member yelled at us and said do you think I'm bleep bleep stupid? Anyone can break it and bring it back except I had just picked it up 10 min prior to finding the damage and re activated Netflix so why would I have done that if I had no intention of using the TV? The staff member lost his cool saying your a real trouble maker aren't you, I'm reminding him we weren't blaming any specific parties we know accidents can happen we are just trying to figure out how this could have happened. So I reminded him we are the customers and your swearing and cursing at us is poor service. He refused to help us do I contacted head office who replaced our TV, Thank you much appreciated. Returned today to pick up replacement manager says I have severe all business ties with you we have done one to many favors. ???? hmm favors meaning us buying back our tv 3x paid the extra fee and always said thank you interesting how this became our fault and now we have to suffer the consequences of another person's actions and behaviour is beyond me. Very confusing as they have always been kind and helpful truly disheartening. I'm not saying don't ever go there I just don't get it

Bought a Xbox One game here recently. It would freeze about 1 hour into playing at the same spot every time and I was unable to continue playing the game. Out 20 bucks. Nice people work here so I gave this a 2 star.

Went in there to try and sell some electronics and everything is in good working condition just a few scratches nothing bad at all. The man hooking it up didnt even know how to do it correctly so he comes back and says sorry it's got a few problems gonna have to pass even though I checked everything and I know they all work. And when he was dealing with me he stopped and took probabily 5 min talking to other co workers about random personal stuff like rapping or something just terrible service too. Will never go back there and also very very bad prices i know it's a pawn shop but like wow terrible.

Was dealt with in a rude manner, just went to pick up a piece of jewelry on pawn, and was given a very rude attitude throughout. Pro tip, when giving a customer his merchandise back don't just say "here" and pass it to me quickly . Here is your item, is there anything else i could help you with, thank you, would be easier on the ears. If i was rude to you i would expect the same energy back, that goes without saying, however i was pleasant and kind the whole time . If you do not like your job don't do it.

Hey y'all i got a new amplifier for Christmas and was trying to sell my old amp to off set the cost of the new one so i tryed here and when i asked what would they pay for my old amplifier they said $35 buck's lol i reply why so little it cost $550 new and its like new near mint and work's GREAT i think its worth way more i said nicely at this point the guy starts being rude and runs it down which is fine but be nice about it. I said it should be a $250 $300 amp used so he said its on eBay for $75 in the USA so i looked it up and they compared mine to a broken one without remote which i have and mine work's so i called the guy back and he again was even more rude after i pointed theses points out and he laughs and gives a $40 dollar offer so if your going to sell anything your going to be ripped off good! I was only looking for a fair sale to pass along to someone else to enjoy so save your time sell your own things on kijiji or Craigs list to get what is fair i feel if your not hard up for money this is not the place for you because they are used to taking advantage of people in need but i think if your not hurting for money take what you have and make a video of yourself destroying it and put it on YouTube and get payed that way merry Christmas

Pawn shops are what they are..sell trade buy used things.. but, why everything in the hock shop is as, or more expensive than buying new, is beyond me.. EVERY other pawn shop I've been too has same or similar things for a fraction of new prices (how they're supposed to be). How the hock shop is still a running business blows my mind

Arguably my favorite second hand goods store in Kingston. Inventory is perusable online through their website (although I always wish they offered more photos), and they always entertain my negotiations and offers for products. Reasonably priced at market value they have saved me plenty of money on a wide variety of Pro quality DJ gear and my other electronics I buy there. Very happy.

Chris from Hock Shop Kingston was being aggressive and very rude. He gave 3 evaluations on the same set of products and when asked why he just said "because that’s how much it is". We had to correct him on his counting multiple times before he decided to say that the price was final. He even misplaced one of our items before giving us the money for the items being sold. The guy was just lost and i am extremely disappointed as a customer and a loyal citizen of Kingston. Almost seemed like he was having an off day at home and brought it into the workplace. Would highly recommend a retraining of staff etiquette and how to treat customers.

I've shopped at the kingston location for nearly a decade and seen the store growing over time. i've witnessed them gracefully handle some very belligerent customers, I highly recommend them for their selection of Blu-rays, video games and electronics. if they don't have the item you need they are quick to make suggestions of similar items that would work in place, that they do have on hand or how to obtain the specfic item in question. i will always shop at Hock Shop Canada. Read the positive and negative reviews and decided to go check them out. I was greeted promptly as I entered the store , I then began to browse within 2 minutes was asked if i needed a hand with anything. The staff is great !! Wide variety of items I was interested in a guitar. Huge variety from a throw away Strat copy to a mint condition Gibson Standard. Then the fun began I started to negotiate a deal on a guitar and amp I honestly didn't think I was going to get much of a deal as I have never been in the store before but I was wrong. With some very friendly back and forth I was able to get the deal I wanted. Thank you to the staff of Hock Shop. Tip ask for a deal !!!
