REVIEWS OF The Centre on Barton IN Hamilton

JasonJ Brown

Very good assortment of big box stores and services. Way too much free parking, stores are quite far apart.

Cristie Geroux (CrissyGee)

Has some nice stores but the walking distance between stores is atrocious. This is not a mall for the elderly, nor disabled!!!

Vee H.

This place needs an HSR bus terminal (or at least a couple of bus stops) so it is easier to connect to the #41 bus from the #2 bus. Also, it would mean less walking for customers visiting the plaza.

Gino Cavicchioli

The Centre on Barton is an outdoor shopping centre in the Lower City of Hamilton, on Barton Street East. It was formerly known as the Centre Mall. It was a "plaza" for many years before being closed in as a "mall" They closed it all in sometime in the 1970s. In 2008, the mall had been turned into an outdoor shopping centre.

Neil J Schwab

Great one-stop shopping center.. the food court is bomb

Steve Formoso

Nice shopping outlet all redone

Scott Shappit

While not the old mall, she has everything i normally need

it's hamilton

Line ups are always long

Audaciously Me !

I miss the old centre mall, but having this plaza works okay as well. Although, You have to drive to most the shops individually, they have everything you need in one area.

Ross Mould

This js a good area for shopping. It features plenty of parking space, a good selection of shops and food options and a LCBO if the mood sways you. I travel out here a few times a week for shopping typically and never really struggle to park or find a store.

tadtotheflippingworl

Good covid19 best practices

D.C. Mahoney

A diverse range of top retailers to satisfy most shopping requirements

Alvin Zabella

Park anywhere you want, shop anywhere you want hassle free. Even the Walmart is not that overwhelmingly crowded. Get all your shopping done in less than a hr!

Jawad Chaudhry

Pretty solid mix of retail tenants consisting of Walmart, Canadian tire, dollarama and tim Hortons to name a few. Mostly national retail chains. Serves the needs of the surrounding communities. Helped to gentrify the area, whether that's good or bad is up to you..

Trav Marshall

Was at Fit 4 Less, and it was good... Didnt really visit any where else. But stay away from Boston Pizza, unless you like horrible service....

Jeff Hallatt

Ok store a fair size

Alice Cooper

About the only thing I don't like about this mall setting is that everything is disconnected. In the winter it makes it very hard to get around from store to store, if you don't have a car or your an elderly with a walker or a wheel chair.

Shantelle Daisley

Friendly grea5 customer service

Kim le

The Centre on Barton has a variety of stores to suit most people. The layout of the mall is spread out and you will need to walk around to different stores. Most of the stores are decent and satisfies almost every one. There is a Tim Hortons, Marshall and Walmart at is location.

Sharon Grover

About the only reason I even come here is for Marshall's and Michael's. Stores seen to close as fast as they open. Without a car this mall would be impossible. Definitely not the location for a big box mall.

Bob Ayers

It was my wife and she spent too much money. Lol!

Pynk Haze

I gave it an ok because it needs things, a movie theater or some type of entertainment maybe a bowling alley, it needs a once upon a child or value village because you either have to go to Stoney creek or up the mountain and most of the low income families are in this area.

Kayla Kovacs

Getting around the mall need to improve for people in wheelchairs or mobility scooters I wish the mall was the way it used to be it's so cold out and going in one store and out back in to the cold is to much especially when everything spread into different parts and some places are so far away

Chris Vagg

Clean place, good selection, friendly staff.

Matthew Neggers

Huge shopping centre but I feel like it has alot of places that not alot of people need to go to and has alot of empty space with massive parking lots... Might be better if it had more stores to go to but the only main places I think would be the giant tiger, the Dollarama, the Walmart and the Canadian tire. But if your looking to go to Walmart or Dollarama there are better selections at other locations.

Robert Ryan “Guilty” Kielty

Cant believe they did that to centèr mall. Used to be a mall to stroll around and shop all year round despite the weather. Now it's another generic box store power center. Need to drive store to store.

Yves-D Poulin

Very good store. Make self check out machine software less complicated.

David Coutts

Lots of stores.

Suzanne Maye

Don't like Kenilworth cause Steel factorys and I lived there 30 yrs. Lost everything I ever had. Stores have bars. The st. Needs a BIA like Otrawa St to improve it. Also too many bars

Monica, Michelle. Marie Wachznuik

Big signs allow easy navigation and being outdoors most are visible and that reminds u what's around and spurs u on to go shopping..just because!

Kay

Poorly designed for drivers and pedestrians it is quite unsafe how busy it gets. The stores are decent for the area but without a vehicle it would not be pleasant to go to multiple stores so far apart, especially in yucky weather conditions. I only come here for Wal-Mart and because the food court is pretty great

Sean Hurley

The mall is a suburban retail "power centre" plunked down in a urban environment. Along the main thoroughfare, Barton, all the businesses turn their back to the street. There are no entrances nor integration with the street nor the huge residential community on the south side of Barton. The same attention to detail applies inside the mall. It is not served by transit. Pedestrians and cyclists risk their lives. The main mall road is used for cut through traffic at rush hour due to poorly considered left turn restrictions on the public roads. Road rage is not uncommon. Cyclists should expect to have bikes stolen. Bike racks are placed, mostly, out of site and are preyed upon by thieves. There is security, but I'm not sure what they do. There are few trees but acres of unused parking lot including behind the mall which is used by illegal trash dumpers. There is a residential community immediately to the north of the mall, separated by railroad tracks, and no pedestrian bridge. Shoppers either must walk a long way around to the mall or risk a trespassing ticket from railway police. Or drive what should be a short walk. The mall is designed around and for the automobile rather than the large community of people who live within the immediate vicinity.

Scary Bookkake

It's alright, the walmart doesn't have much makeup. The food pavilion is nice, has some decent food i guess. Not fun during the cold or rainy weather..

Judge Mountain

Lots lovely shops but definitely recommend a car as this is an outdoor mall spread out over multiple city blocks.

B. P.

They tore down a mall and put in a huge complex of detached buildings for shops to rent. It creates big challenges for those without vehicles, but even if you have one it still presents challenges. Gone are the days when you could waste a gloomy rainy day over at the mall, get all your shopping done and have a bite to eat before heading back home with the family.

Adele Garbutt

Good store. They also honor mask exemptions .

Joseph Okacza

Easy to navigate get multiple things done with having all stores in a group

Phil Balsor

Got my vaccine here and was pleasantly medicated

Mika J. Schwab

Why does Dollarama close at 6? I never make it in time. Aside from this it's all good. Or would be if the stores were open. Thanks c*vid!

Carolyn Brown

I remember when this place was one big building called the center mall, I loved it then but I also like how it's been divided up into different stores.

Florentina Talaue

Excellent service, people are good and most off all the only store we as a family able to shop together. I have dog and this store allow us to bring Shelby.

Luis Medeiros

Besides walking to get to some stores because they are all separate from each other , overall not bad for shopping and there's a food court inside .

Emily T

It's alright, the walmart doesn't have much makeup. The food pavilion is nice, has some decent food i guess. Not fun during the cold or rainy weather..

Lisa Ellis

Lots of stores here, ample parking.

Joanne Brigmantas

PAT teller at First Ontario Credit Union is so easy to use!

steven_igo_4uf

review date: november 10, 2011 customer service: since the early-1980's -present center mall has changed a lot over the decades. from 2008 onwards, it changed from an indoor mall to a plethora of strip plazas on one property. this is not a pedestrian-friendly property. while it is safe to walk around, you could get to where you need to if you walked, but it would take a long time vs a car. the centre today is designed more for customers with cars. positives: -food pavilion is decent, and there are other food offerings on the property outside the pavilion. -walmart that is open everyday till 11pm, a metro for shopping, beer store/lcbo, banking, canadian tire, dollarama and a variety of other retailers are on location. drawbacks: shopping here would be a royal pain in the backside for pedestrians in the winter and hot summer months. bottom line: i would continue to use the center mall for my shopping needs when i'm in the area, and would recommend such to others.

Shaun Green

Parking lot way too big but everything flows good

Sarah Gaensler

I enjoy this shopping plaza. There is a great variety of stores and banks all within close proximity to one another.

Niamh Baszyl

Weirdest set up ever. The old mall was awesome for walking there and getting all your needs. Now you have to go box store to box store. Takes more time manoeuvring around then it does shopping. Also it's a place you need a car and sometimes you don't want to drive.

Shaun Lindsay (Pop Illuminati)

Most of them all things are a little spaced out further than I'd like but has everything you're looking for if you're up for a walk you don't drive you'll definitely get your exercising for the day since everything is all over the place definitely bring a good pair of running shoes

Shane Lafortun

Good stores, biggest flaw is that it's an outdoor mall with way too much parking. so if you're on foot in the winter I hope you enjoy a cold 10 minute walk between stores.

Beatrice Maude

I was at Boston Pizza today, October 23rd 2019. The service was very satisfactory. I had a salad with breaded chicken, my brother had a pasta dish and we were both pleased. We will likely return.

Stefan P

The parking lot here is always clean. Lots of parking. It's really safe here despite it being in a "bad area". Plenty of shopping options. The Metro is amazing for meat, drinks, and frozen food. Fast food options for lunch/dinner. Always plowed in the winter. Hard to complain about the Centre overall. Lots of new stores coming too.

Jamie Beauregard

These pictures are good have all your booze and whatever you want

Marianne T

I am not a fan of the layout at all too many accidents. Whoever thought of the idea was out of their mind. #bringbackoldcentremall

Dave Orgar

Went here to have a sasage at Canadian tire. Good sasage but the price is getting to high. $4.75. Last year they were only $4.00. Inflation on meat has not gone up. He is just price gouging.

Susan Heldt

Everything and anything you've ever wanted one stop shopping!

Sharon Dos Santos

Love their products

Ana Patricia Asgill

Busy outdoor mall. Many shops and restaurants. Have to visit yourself, everyone's experience is different. No problem finding a cab, there are many waiting, especially near Metro grocery store, Wal-Mart and Canadian Tire.

Susan Perron

I don't really like your mom all your parking place I like Escape better I'll come there if I need something and happened to go by

Samantha Boswell

Was better when it was an indoor mall not an outlet mall. But still good place to go. Be careful of traffic in the parking lot.

Michelle Marshman

This place is great. So much variety. Always clean - with the exception of the bathrooms, which are a toss up. I'm in love with the montforts at this location and you should be too. It's honestly amazing. Try it. Great portions. Great service. Great food.

Michelle Marshman

Ray Zemaitis

Great mall, has a lot of choices. A lot more open than Toronto!

Cheryl Fitzgerald

I like this shopping area, difficult if you can't drive. Great shopping stores and electronic business stores, huge food court excellent relaxing, and rest place , and have a bite m

Kathy F

Not pedestrian friendly - stores are too far apart, no real sidewalks. If I'm down there I'm there for Michael's and Wal-Mart- though I'm closer to the Wal-Mart on Upper James. I preferred the Center Mall when it was actually a mall

Joe Schacher

Well.. Its better than centre mall. But it is still one of those parking lot nightmare mall where you must drive to go shopping.

Matt Sloss

Huge shopping center. Just about everything you may be looking for can be found here. It's a collection of strip plaza and stand alone stores cover the better part of a city block, not an indoor mall. With Wal-Mart, Canadian Tire, food court building, grocery store, furniture, dollar store and much more, it's the main shopping destination for downtown and eastend Hamilton.

Honey Miamoore

People were very friendly and helpful but the way the aisles are numbered is really confusing and time consuming not just for the customers but for the staff as well. I like the set up of the store on Upper James and wished I had went there today instead.

F Maloney

Its great that alot of the stores I like to shop at are in one block. I just dislike how far you have to walk especially in the winter the old center was great cause alot of the stores were inside a mall type building now there in scattered rows of 3-4 stores with a huge parking lot in between

Anwar Darsot

Good mix of stores and restaurants

Sean Zammit

Worst mall I've ever been to. I don't know who thought it'd be a great idea to make an outdoor mall in Canada but it wasn't that smart. Traffic is near impossible to deal with as you get people running signs or simply not waiting for their turn. Despite there being security you never see them actually making sure the lot is safe from the local junkies. I guess there is a decent variety of stores to choose from but having to drive place to place is a pain. Despite this being a couple minutes down the street I still try to avoid it and go to Eastgate.

Richard Litke

I enjoy the wide variety of shops and banking locations. The restaurant choices are really good for most moods. The store options go from dollar store spending to high end furniture and TV shopping. A huge minus for pedestrians though... there is a through street that cuts the parking lot in half that runs parallel to Barton Street. It has no Stop signs and is difficult to cross between the front stores and the further stores since traffic is fairly heavy. This means you can be waiting for a few minutes until there is a gap in the traffic flow safe enough to cross on foot.

Nicholas T

Went to the Canadian Tire and Tim's, typical experience like any other. They have a food pavillion nearby which seems pretty neat.

Randy Boomsluiter

Everything you need.Nice stores and restaurants.

T Sproule

Great selection of stores from Canadian Tire to Dollarama, Metro and Walmart. Food court is mostly open and A&W has counter service as well as drive thru. Several banks at the Centre including Scotiabank and BMO.

Safyre Ciere

The pavilion has a wide range of options so it's always easy to find something to eat. Only downside is that it can be crowded and noisy. However, the bathrooms and seating areas are always clean!

Big D 83

Lots of options for shopping and dining. Needs better walk paths for those who bus as it's just parking lots but traffic is very hectic at night and holiday seasons.

Luly Vigil

The staff is very kind, they help me to find the wine that I was looking for. Thank you very much

Freddy Ross

I go to this LLBO I DON'T HAVE to wait in line and it always has what I need

Anas ELASHI

Not the best mall to go to , if you are looking for some one to break into your car, do not go further. I find people in that area rude and nasty no idea why? Is it the steel factories affect them ? Just wondering

David Schuurman

Helpful stores, totally unwalkable though.

da pug

Good place for shopping or booze but real bad for crackheads and beggers.

Mary ElseLooker

Pretty good at getting in and out when you're in a hurry

RICK VANHOOVANSLOVIN

Nice place to go but a whole Lotta walking the stores are too far apart everywhere you go you got to drive your car doesn’t make much sense it was much better when it was inside similar to lime Ridge Mall go in one star and you’re in the whole place you can walk to everywhere the one on Barton Street I don’t know how it stays alive in the winter time nobody’s walking to any stores but that’s just my opinion

torontochap1

Parking is good. Big Box stores are easy to access. So are the banks, shoppers, beer store, Walmart,

Kristy A (Pinja)

The shops are great, never had a bad experience in that department. The layout of this mall is atrocious though. I don't know why they thought it was a good idea to keep all the shops spread out and so far from each other. The lot is dangerous to walk around too. I have almost been hit by cars many times. I don't have a car so if I had to stop at the dollarstore and then Walmart, it was always a nightmare to have to walk in the winter.

Christine

Lots of parking. Long walks to the stores. Should be more compact so less walking.

F Abounassar

Covid closed most of it , too bad , other wise it's a good place

SueAnnRich #ChefSue #imafoodie #younggrandma

Awesome place to shop. Has all the stores I need, Metro, Shoppers Drug Mart, Marshall's, Canadian Tire, Giant Tiger, EB Games, etc. Great hours, great prices, Awesome sales.

Roger Plouffe

Great times good people

Tiffany Jay

The stores that are in this "mall" are a decent size and there's plenty of parking so that's good but I find that the mall actually lacks an identity. Also there's many empty store fronts which is kind of annoying, it leads me to assume that perhaps their leases are high priced so there's a lot of wasted potenital in this mall. I feel that they need to actively seek out businesses to get this mall bustling again. They need somewhere where you want to stay awhile instead of the sense of urgency the mall gives you. They could really benefit from having an Indigo or a movie theatre in this area but time will tell. As for now, its convenient to hit the bigger stores at once but I'd spend more time at a mall that had more going on.

Lou M

The stores that were open were great but alot of empty stores.

TheLoveMan John

There's only a few business I use here; RBC, LCBO, Metro, and Shoppers. There is a tonn of parking and easily accessible from Burlington street. However the walmart here is junk. Ooooo I forgot Bulk barn for thos with a sweet tooth.

Adam Cheaney

It has cleaned up quite a bit since it was Centre Mall. Metro grocery store is on site along with several other stores.

Alex Bilsland

Good selection of retailers. Across all stores, the staff are helpful and friendly. They really stepped up during the pandemic. They all deserve medals (and more money). Lots of parking.

cindy McAlpine LOL

This mall is not user friendly. Everything is spaced to far apart and there is really no sidwalks to walk on and no shade in the summer and to open to shop in the winter. Plus the food court is in the wrong spot to far to walk for some . NO ONE ASKED THE PEOPLE IN THE AREA WHAT WE WANTED WHEN THEY SAID THEY WERE RENOVATING IT .

Ken Stott

Always seems to be low in stock.

aning2K

Nice place. Lots of parking.

Veronica Elliott

Was at Canadian Tire getting a curbside order. Great service and I was about 8 mins in total waiting for my order

C D

Favourite food court....great options and nice atmosphere.

Annamaria Elizabeth Bicego

Looking send a parcel....staples has low price purchasing a box...it cost me only $2.00..while UPS $10.00 plus tax shoppers isnt cheap either...

Mary Carr

I don't like that all the stores are so far apart its much better with one big mall and being able to stay inside away from the colder weather.

Burl House

Yet another useful indoor shopping mall falls by the wayside, in order to have a block long outdoor bunch of stores. A step in the wrong direction, and rarely used anymore. Not the least bit impressed. If you enjoy the casual indoor shopping experience, I highly recommend passing right past this place. Poorly conceived, and implemented.

Shel

It's a generic big strip mall with a very car-centric design. It almost seems as if they didn't consider pedestrian traffic at all when doing the planning for this place, since it's nigh impossible to get around without walking back out to Barton street or crossing roads with fences that are obviously not intended to be crossed by design. The food court is pretty cookie-cutter and the stores are laid out in a way that is not conducive to browsing if you don't know where you're going ahead of time. With that said, if you've got a car and know what you're looking for, it's a very convenient place to have in the east end and provides a nice hub to get most of the stuff you'll need on a day to day basis.

Boris Daich

A rough crowd shops here in general. If that is an issue then pick an other shopping experience. Good for general shopping. I would stay away from this Walmart at this plaza.

C. Callen

The Centre Mall is an "outdoor" mall. Each store has it's own entrance. There's tons of parking with wheelchair accessible spots. Many great stores like Michael's craft store, Petsmart, L.C.B.O, Canadian Tire, Walmart, Metro grocery store, Dollarama, The Brick, Ardenes Fashion wear, a food court with drive thru, several shoe and clothing stores. If you don't feel like walking everywhere just hop in your car and drive to each one. You can always find a spot to park.

Illona Carson

I walk with a baby stroller and to get to the stores in the back like Dollarama or Staples is terrible to try and cross the parking lot. They should have just made a new mall instead of all separate stores..

Christopher Kushnier

It's a giant parking lot with some stores in it. It's on my way to work which is why I go. Lebanese place in the food court is the best part

Steve Rebellato

The layout was not thought out much. The parking and road scheme has to be the worst in Canada. Trying to walk from store to store is joke. Tear it all down and make a half decent outlet mall.

David

Massive mall/retail development that has almost everything you can think of. Walmart, Metro, Canadian Tire, all the banks are here as well as many other stores of all kinds. Only downside is that the stores are very far apart and the mall is best set-up for customers with vehicles. Some really good variety and on a public transportation route.

Wyrm Limion

I was impressed, the centre has a great selection of chain stores, pretty much everything you want you can get here.

Sara

Good variety of shops and an independent food court is interesting. Seems to be convenient and definitely nicer and less dodgy than the last time I've been at Barton and Kenilworth. ????

Nik Crawford

Decent selection of takeout restaurants. Good place for lunch. Very busy on Fridays. The parking lot is poorly designed and often a mess.

just-me-doubleDee

there is something for everyone at the centre mall and giant tiger will be opening in October this year where the old Target building was

Perez JB

Good stores, but traffic flow is weird.

f a y e

Pretty cool has a McDonald's and fortinos honey garlic chicken wings which are good

Richard Saburn

It;'s no longer a mall. They tore it down and put stores willy nilly all over a parking lot the size of the racetrack which use to be there and it makes it hard to see all the stores when you have to crisscross back and forth across a busy parking lot to see the stores when you take a bus there. A lot of walking or getting into your car a number of times to drive to the different locations of the stores.

Brian Brideau

Got drunk after visiting so it works lol

Liz Silk

Very organized and kept clean. I like that

Elim Draper

Everything is too spread out. Takes 20 min to walk from one side to the other and there are no pathways

C Collins

The parking lot is usually a madhouse, and everything is so spread out it's like visiting a couple different strip malls. The stores are mostly clean and not too busy (aside from Wal-Mart).

Andy Ray

Bought some alcohol here for my mum and dad, high prices for some items but great place all around

Shannon Bongard

Good variety of stores like Wal-Mart, Canadian Tire, Marshalls, Metro and now it's getting a Giant Tiger and a fitness center! Hours are great as most stores are 7am-11pm. Lots of parking. There is a food pavillion with excellent food and choice. I'm always shopping here.

BlueJay Studio

if I remember well, that food court there is a disaster... and did I mention.. that steel factory over there ruins the whole city of Hamilton.. OMG.. what a ugly site...close it .. flood it.. exterminate it.. make it disappear...

Daphne Ugor

It's a one-stop shopping complex. If you're looking for groceries, you've got Walmart and Metro, there's Canadian tire(one of my favourite places) Tim Hortons, Giant Tiger, a new affordable fitness center, 3different banks(RBC, TD, CIBC) all with drive-throughs, Dollarama, Staples, The Brick, a nice food court, and more...Only down side is that, you must be careful with your belongings, make sure your vehicle is locked & keep your purse with you at ALL times. I had my groceries stolen at the food court, just be careful!

Karl Harriman

The parking entrance and exits are messed up

Krystina Mills (KitKat)

Very disappointed with them taking the mall away. Now, with small children. You have to get them all dressed to go to the next store to find out they don’t have what you’re looking for. Winters are the worst!!

Andrea lynn Sloan

Poor layout for pedestrians. Sidewalks disappear, forcing frequent street crossings. The design forces shoppers to drive everywhere!

patricia ferrie

There was a lot of store anything you wanted.the stores I went in everybody was nice and polite the places were clean washrooms had everything you needed it was quick friends clean what more do you need

Andrea Boyko

I like all that the mall has to offer inside and outside. There are box stores as well as smaller chain stores in strip malls throughout the mall property. There’s a lot of variety and selection of genres of stores.

Haydee Silva

Many options for fast food. But not options for use the bathroom very frustrating. Thank you Walmart

Kandice Devon

Everything you are going to the mall to get to are so far apart and in the cold it's just a wind farm. And there are a whole wack of homeless people camping the two grocery stores there and bumming inside the food pavilion, and I doubt those problems will be solved with the opening of the giant tiger.

Charlene Dokter

Not accessable for mobility aids or pedestrians, spread out stores, limited parking at popular stores, the main road lacks sidewalks and wasn't built to handle the car traffic.

The Curiosity

Their official website claim "pedestrian-friendly shopping experience" is far from the truth. Whoever wrote that needs to be sat down and explained that just because you say something, doesn't make it real. This shopping centre is so unfriendly to pedestrians that they should seriously consider their own internal transit system just to get from one store to the next. But then again, this Centre isn't even friendly to vehicles. How it is designed just trying to leave and you end up in bottle-necks as there are only so many ways to escape. Store selection is as dull as beige. Just your run of the mill big box store farm. Beggars like to hangout outside the Walmart and if you are lucky you might witness a fight between junkies right outside of your car in the parking lot!

V Bro

Everything you need in one shopping center. Wheelchair accessible. Bus line right there to drop you off along the three or four block radias.

V Bro

Everything you need in one shopping center. Wheelchair accessible. Bus line right there to drop you off along the three or four block radias.

Jason Tam

One stop shopping center.

John Head

Not to be particularly critical of the individual stores, this must surely be one of the world's worst shopping malls. A desolate, windswept hell, safe for neither pedestrians or drivers. The old Centre Mall was a far nicer shopping experience and while it needed some refurbishment, it would have been better left as it was than to create this mess. It is beyond me what it's creators were thinking, given that we live in a country subject to extremes of temperature. I would be embarrassed to take any overseas visitors to see this.

Kristina H (Kris H)

Is designed for cars but far away from the road for transit users. Miss the old mall, which has a much smarter layout.

James Bensch

Good selection of stores and fast food, vast amounts of parking (usually), and a good parking lot layout. Just watch out for other drivers in the parking lot as they tend to pull out in front of you, don't look, and can be somewhat retaliatatory and nasty if you honk at them...

Ryan Fitzy

Lots of things right where they're needed so I dont have to travel too far.. plus I always throw the pan handlers a few bucks too.

Jennifer Jaundoo Wolfenden

Love that Metro. Shoppers. Walmart. The Bulk Barn are all in the same place! Life made easy!!!

Shawn

The stores here are fine but whatever developer designed this place did NOT have pedestrians in mind. It's a maze of hardly any sidewalks and you always have to be on the lookout for on coming cars. This is the main reason I hardly for there anymore.

Hendrik Zantinge

All you need in one block, beer store, liquor store, pot shop, Wal-Mart, Giant Tiger, Shoppers, All the major banks , CT and Dollarama. And restaurants almost any food you'd feel like eating

Shajid Islam

Lots of parking, but weird traffic flow

Abigail M

The have a small but good selection of stores, plenty of banks and the food court is good. The only thing that really sucks is that it's an all outdoor mall and there isn't many pathways so if you're walking from store to store you usually have to walk on the busy road of the parking lots. And if you came in a car it is a little annoying having to drive from store to store. Especially in the winter months.

Mare Livingston

Starbucks is one of my go tos at center mall. Great friendly staff. Really clean kiosk.

Dana Gosse

I go here all the time and honestly there are lots of stores but it spans like 5-6 blocks. you can't walk around ... you have to know what store you want and go to it in you vehicle. way to big and all outdoors, you're subjected to the climate. I recommend, if you know what store you want and if you drive

Compassionate Creations

I miss when it was a mall, when you don't drive and you walk from store to store, not as walkable as a mom with a stroller would like, feel for the walkers and wheelchairs, stores are friendly and accessible but be careful not to get hot by a car getting there.

peter Copeland

Tore down a great mall and build a bunch of scattered box like stores all over the place . just awful. You get soaked and frozen in the winter if you went from store to store . you need to drive from store to store .. The place sucks .. Best part is the stand alone food court. Should have fixed up and modernized the old mall

Marion Batchelor

Walmart is a great shopping store from clothing and footwear too kitchen ware and food including meat, children clothing movies, TV and cell phones plants and outside stuff, perfume and accessories and cards books and much more

Joycelyn Hartsell (Jo Jo)

Convenient and located in a perfect area. The center on barton is a one stop place to get all my every day needs. From furniture and appliances to clothing, groceries and even a bottle of wine I know I'll get all of my needs met when heading to center mall.

Daerik Panchyshyn

Fine store, parking could be better.

N Kremla

A useful plaza for shopping banking and eating a snack at the food court. It's not a mall like it once was, and it would be fair to describe it as pedestrian friendly only in summer. In fall, winter and spring it's a wet, cold, slushy mess.

Christian SyKo Hartsell

Not built for walking... I miss the old mall, as does every hamiltonian.

Randi Simmons

Always great service ! The staff are so friendly & welcoming. Our appetizer took a bit longer than usual yesterday - so it was taken off our bill as well as another 20% for the trouble. This is the best BP location

Nicole Barati (Cole's Reviews)

If you have a car and know what stores you want to go to, then you are good to go, otherwise, make sure that it is a warm day because all of the stores are so far away from each other (walking distance). I like the place but after target closed and now that there is no store in that lot, it kind of reminds me of a retail center that is deflating and can't keep themselves a float, I picture tumbleweeds and Detroit. The customer service in almost every store is horrible, please don't go if you are in a bad mood!

Christa Lynn

The Centre Mall use to be where it was at in Hamilton. Loved the fountains and Pet store when I was a little girl. Thats all long gone now. The individual store trend is nothing new but frankly makes little sense for places like Canada that have a cold climate most of the year. Your going in/out with each store compared to a mall set up where you can take your coat off and have everything conveniently inside. The stores are ok... The addition of the Giant Tiger was a nice touch.

Martina H

I'm so glad this mall is within walking distance of my new place! Super convenient and loads of stores to choose from.

Lynda Tomkinson

I like the variety of stores but miss being able to walk around the mall. I spend less this way so I guess that's a good thing.

Violet Smith

A very large power centre that has Ontario's only separate Food Pavilion among all the stores. Major retailers such as Canadian Tire, The Brick, Marshalls and Walmart. Several financial service options are also available.

Tyler Harrison

Great service and friendly employees! The staff here are great at getting issues resolved and setting up new phones. Very professional and knowledgeable.

Paul Hudgins

Lots of interesting people. It has the essential stores and if you are near by or passing to get somewhere else it's worth stopping to get what you need

Paul Pickett

Having to walk from store to store is only a drag in the winter. Otherwise it's nice to be outside. Very large though so park in the middle if you plan to walk everywhere.

Ray Perrier

Stores are too far apart, especially in cold weather.

Christopher Gast

It's weird to review what is ostensibly a parking lot, but I'll be as honest as possible here: there's very poor pedestrian access, and lots of uncontrolled intersections. Any place that absolutely requires vehicle access is a huge failure in my book, but at least the selection of places isn't terrible.

Luis Antonio Zarate Salinas

Very dirty ????????‍♂️

Joe Misale

Great variety

JASON NIKISCHIN

Clean store with good service even though it is busy. Lots of selection. Lots of free parking. Recommend

JASON NIKISCHIN

Clean store with good service even though it is busy. Lots of selection. Lots of free parking. Recommend

Jesse Turner

Well what can I say ????

Donna R

Good . Just wish the parking lot was more pedestrian friendly. If you don't drive you have to walk long distances from one store to another throughout the plaza . Endless amounts of parking that is never even half full.

Cielo Wilson Ignacio

Pretty cool ...

Brianna (Beena)

If you're in a car, be prepared to stop and go a lot. If you're a pedestrian, you will do a lot of walking, and some places are lacking proper sidewalks. Really miss the indoor mall.

Wade Rickert

Various stores n banks. Good selection. Shop Away.

cristy caplan

Lots of great places to shop

jake shoup

Lots of stores to shop at

Stephan Gambino

Good selection but long line up seems like every time I go in there.

evelyn morrallee

These power centers are not pedestrian friendly. Good selection of stores, but very hard to walk around.

Justin Bautista

I'd rather go to other stores up the mountain for the fact that I've had terrible customer service at almost every one of these shops. The Canadian Tire gave me a hard time when I had to exchange my Dyson after it died on me less than 3 month after I purchased it... but the 3 months ended while the store was closed during lockdown. I was told the warranty was for 1 year in store, but I guess I was misinformed. The shows worth going to include: Bulk Barn, TD Bank, Dollarama, Petsmart, Michael's, Walmart and the food court. If you want good service, you might want to go somewhere else..

stan griffiths

The LCBO...is government controlled. It is the biggest player in the wine and spirits in the world. I often wonder how one province can have an open market, and another controlled. Then I look at pricing. Clearly in Ontario your getting ripped off on beer, wine and spirits and now marijuana. Maybe if no one bought in the LCBO they would take note,

EXPERT REVIEWS

Horribly planned mall, more like a big parking lot. The food court is extremely limited and not worth visiting. Tim Hortons line ups are crazy with a "welfare" Walmart, small in size and crowded with a lot of poverty. The shoppers drugmart staff did not greet us when entering and did not return the hello like other location greet customers. Many persons were not stopping at 4 way stops and are horrible drivers. This "mall" is a nightmare and a poverty pit.

Ricky Guite'

It would be much better if it was all under one roof, especially in the "COLD" weather. It's nice shopping in the many new stores.

Amir vohra

It was nice place for all kind of people. Shopping malls and food courts are the most popular places.

Fey Akande

There are so many stores here like walmart, GNC, Michael's, Pet smart, The brick, Marshalls, and more. The Walmart is quite big and you find a lot of sales there

Rachel Preiksaitis

While it has many good stores in one convenient spot and is kept pretty neat and tidy, it's not very well-designed for pedestrians. Unfortunately, I must parrot the opinion of many others and say that it was much better back when it was an actual indoor mall. I still enjoy it, but only when I'm driving.

Robert Saka

Great place for all your shopping needs the metro in there is good anyways

Robert Saka

Great place for all your shopping needs the metro in there is good anyways

Scott Bouchard

A convenient and accessible location with many services and stores that one uses for most things.

David Coutts (Santadave)

Just about everything you would want

Derek Desormeaux

A LOT better than the old Center Mall years ago with an awesome selection of huge stores and all major bank branches within close proximity to each other.

Crash Cours

I like how the plazas are laid out. There's mini malls so the parking isn't horrendous. The food pavilion parking is always busy but there's always spots available and you're usually not in there long for line ups. It's convenient that the big stores like Michael's, Dollarama, Staples and Canadian Tire are there. I shop at most of them all the time. Oh, and Bulk Barn! Lol

Cameron Meikle

used to be a shopping mall, with lots of stores within easy walking distance, you ditched the car in the parking lot, and went for a walk about, now it's a collection of box stores that you risk life and limb to visit without your trusty car to wisk you here and there. Just to go one store to another, would be about a 15 minute walk, instead of the 2 minute walk the indoor mall would have required. Just visit the TD Bank, and then go to Walmart, or Shoppers , traversing snow and slush, with no proper walkways, tell me I'm wrong....

Kathleen Leonard-Teal

Went to Michael's to get cross stitch but they no longer sell the large kits which is extremely disappointing

denise saunders

Line up outside but went quickly. Busy inside but the staff got the customers moving quickly.

Jeff Boulton

The parking lot at this outdoor mall complex is poorly laid out and extremely difficult for anyone on foot.

Robert Lacroix

Lots of stores to choose from, needs places where people can safely go to other stores on the other side of the mall

Shelly Guidolin

Staff is friendly however it's so busy and there's someone always asking for money panhandlers gets fustrating but overall considering its new years Eve service was fast today

Julian Lima Kuleshov

"Security" wouldn't let me into Eastgate Mall to make a quick stop at the Bell store. Apparently it's only by appointment just a heads up for anyone who needs to make a visit to their phone provider. It's understandable though all because of the lockdown (covid-19)

Willow salmon indica hope Charlie Damien Reyes

Friendly staff great help

Ashley Lowe

If your walking then this is not the place for you. Only decent thing about it is has Michael's Michael's, Walmart Dollarama and few of the bigger banks all in one spot

sagar bhatt

Quality stuff.

Jessica Upper

Always fresh always Tim Hortons

Rajibul Mian

Good place for shooping and walk around. Most big retailers are here. health benificial during covid as stores are not under one big closed building like regular mall. Used to be one of largest mall in noth america during 1950-60s.

Jim Cluett

Great mall, lots of stores..

Beto Pinto

Its a ok mall/plaze its to bad you have to walk all over the plaza to go from one store to another they call it a smart center but i dont find anything smart about the design of the plaza

RezzRocket

Poor poor service from security...I tried asking for a wallet I lost around there a few months ago, although the service from security guards LACKED SO MUCH. I asked if my wallet was amongst the ones found due to the secretary telling me there have been wallets found. The guy on the other end of the line..,you can tell he wasn’t lookin, most likely goofing off or not doing the job he supposed to be doing...I’m sorry but very very poorly handled it made me laugh how hard people try now adays haha.

Laura Miller

Parking lot set up is not easily accessible by walking with or without strollers, walkers, or shopping carts. The stores are far apart and a hassle to walk to from the street.

dawn hoad

Great if you drive but it's a kilometer from one end to the other and very difficult for pedestrians. I avoid going there if I can

Amelia Thompson

Great place to shop, variety of places to choose from and often stop in to the Dollar store for odds n ends after visiting Canadian tire.

Glenn Robinson

Great location. Lots and lots of shops and stores. Beer Store on site too. Plenty of free parking as well. Used as a mass vaccination center in one of the vacant stores which was well run and efficient. Very happy to see Hamilton Fire Department (HFD) paramedics on site just in case. Cheers!

Kien Hoang

Big area. Lots of shops. Perhaps a little too big. Probably better to build an indoor mall instead becsuse you're going to need a car to get from store to store.

Sarah Elizabeth

Customers are friendly and the staff are professional

DayOfId

Since being revamped to cater more to the mobile consumer, I thought that mere bus or bicycle visits to the old "Centre Mall" would be less appealing than driving. However having both an LCBO and The Beer Store along with the usual practical options (CanTire, Shopper's, Wal-Mart) seems to justify it.

Benchpress King

Actually it's not bad. Big with a lot stores

Tanya Jennings

I was able to get my cat's pet food, check out Ardene's AND Stitches all within walking distance of each other. The staff at Canadian Tire are rude ... don't ask for any type of help. But hot dog stand outside makes up for it LOL! My girlfriend works at the food pavillion and said she has seen roaches so BE CAREFUL!!!! I suggest not eating there!!! TD Bank, Beer Store, LCBO, Walmart, Metro (EXPENSIVE), Canadian Tire (RUDE STAFF), Marshalls, Staples, Pet store, etc etc etc. Great place to get everything done at once.

Andria Hexx

I'm not a fan of the new layout here, preferred the mall with interconnected stores. On the plus side, lots of stores to consume your time and cash! Canadian Tire, Wal-Mart and the usual stores in every mall along with a La Vie en Rose lingerie outlet, a Cannabis Cabana (yep, that's our Gov't approved legal pot store), bunch of women's wear stores, handful of restaurants along with the ubiquitous Beer Store and LCBO found in malls allover Canada. Hey, why not make your shopping mission even better by stopping here first? Just be careful in the unending maze of parking lots that surround all the stores like a moat. Neither drivers, cyclists or pedestrians seem to have a grip on where to go because its a total mess.

Lindsay Griffith

Parking lot is not well designed, lots of traffic by the LCBO... but Food Pavilion offers good selection, and lots of good shopping

Mike Whocares

Ok selection of stores. Police and security randomly patrol making it feel a bit safer. Nothing special here though.

Panda & Terryn Duhaime (pushypandabear)

An outlet shopping center. Kinda hard 2 walk through 2 get from 1 store 2 another wth only limited sidewalk area 2 b able too walk on from 1 store 2 another store, esp. 4 the elders n parents with strollers and small children! At times havta walk on the paved road for vehicles

Yoman Biggie

The car wash is a waste of money hade to go through 2 times but the second time was free still was dirty like fix your sgit lol

Ashley Lamb

The place is a complete mess they should have left it an actual mall. It's 50/50 if you're going to get hit by a car or get into an accident trying to navigate through the maze.

pplpplgal

The mall is good, but not exactly pedestrian friendly. Seems like you have to have a car to get anywhere really.

B Bilal

Nice place to shop around. The food court here offers you a variety of good food. The remarkable feature is that you can get Halal Food as well.

heidi macho

Parking was plenty...but you do need a vehicle to get to some Stores, as they are a distance apart. There are however, a multitude of stores, especially Canadian Tire and Walmart. Please take note..there is a food building on the mall lot. This Walmart doesn't have a McDonald's or any restaurant in it...but great deals!!

Kevin Molnar

Clean nice place and variety there .

Kevin Molnar

Clean nice place and variety there .

Timothy Owen

Not a great selection of stores for the essentials. The Walmart is too small, the metro is spendy. But, the Canadian Tire is fantastic and there is a Shopper's Drug Mart, LCBO and Beer Store!

Paige Jamieson

Has like every store you could need in one spot. Also has almost every bank institution there. Whenever I need to go shopping and run multiple errands I go to the centre. There's walmart, grocery stores, tim hortons and a food court. There's my bank and many other banks, canadian tire, marshalls, giant tiger, multiple cell phone carriers and so much more !! For pete sake they even had a weed dispensary lol ????

Alex Prince

Open, big, and good!

Cody Gondek

I really like this plaza, they have lots of places to shop, as well as three bank in this plaza which is nice if you need to grab cash. 110% i would go back.

Dr. Stanley Moyo

Lots of stores to shop in. Ample free parking too.

Krystal Freddy

It's oh ok went there a few times cause there is a petsmarts where got my dogs a couple dog toys for Christmas one year there the source where got my tablet so yea it's a great place to go and some nice stores if you like to walk.

Gail McArthur

Everything you need or want in 2 city blocks... Canadian tire..to A&W ... TOO the dollar store.. To shoppers for a new bottle of perfume..or Walmart... Gotta shop here Center on Barton in Hamilton

Kirk Westhaver

The stores are okay, the people in the area are another story. I'd recommend going to a nicer part of town unless it's your only choice

Zechariah Hockridge

Nice big parking lot full of stores. Has a lot of shops but they are spread out so either moving the car or hiking across the pavement may be required. I miss the old center mall.

Mrs. Sarah Jackson

More and better stores than there used to be, but I hate that they tore down the regular mall building to put up another one of these strip-mall style shopping centres, which means you have to go outside to go from store to store. Depending which stores you want to shop at, that can be quite a distance! And this were California or Florida, then who cares... But this is CANADA, where it's COLD more often than it's not!!! And not even B.C. where it's not quite as frigid all the time, it's Ontario! Sorry but that pisses me right off, because I can't imagine what they were thinking but it obviously wasn't about their potential customers.

XxKELLY Xx

I love center mall! All my favorite stores in one place then you have the dispensary plus the Pavilion has incredible choices for food that is fast and reliable. You can finish your errands with your perfect blend from Tim Hortons! Making shopping fun again!

Amanda Clarke

There's a good variety of popular stores but the layout is not designed well for people who don't drive, the stores are very spread out, there are not enough opportunities for pedestrians to cross and crass drive through at dangerous speeds.

Wanda Wellings (Wicked Wanda)

It has a variety of different stores you can shop in. If you have difficulty walking long distance this is not the place to go to. The stores are spread out. If you drive that would be better for you.

Bernard B

Really miss the old mall. Not very happy with the detached stores everywhere. Makes going from one place to the next a pain. Also, I miss the sense of community the old center mall had.

Jelena Percy

The people here are always friendly. They give a family vibe. Every staff member I talk to is smiling and I always leave feeling happy with my experience. Store is very busy and often is out of certain products. But they are always quick to recommend something comparable to what I'm looking for and I've never been disappointed.

Gwyn Susan

Good selection. Rarely lined up

Melanie James

This is my go to big box store mall in the city! Love the selection, and there is always parking!

ROB Rapiti

Excellent selection of food even for those with intolerances. I went to A&W and picked up the meatless Burger wrapped in iceberg lettuce. And while it was a bit messy and the lettuce wasn't really wrapped, it was an incredibly delicious burger and would recommend it to anybody.

Tim Pezarro

Has a broad range of retail services. Groceries, pharmacies, banks, liquor store, beer store, etc.

Brad LeBarron

It's ok in a pinch if you need a few things from Wal-Mart or shoppers drug Mart or even something for your pet at pet smart! This mall has pretty much everything you may need from dollar store shopping to grabbing cakes and goodies from Metro's bakery!

Kristian James

It's got plenty of stores and a food court. Lots of parking. It's a decent walk around the stores. Everything you'll need is at The Centre.

Harry Singh

Good Variety of Store and easily to accessible. Lot parking space available ..

anais ngodebo

It’s really good around there different malls

Brian Berneker

Pretty comprehensive selection. They even have a cooler section for beer, ciders, radler and the like.

Robert Hamilton

It's much nicer than it used to be. Still feels a bit dodgy. I prefer to drive to the Ancaster shopping area, with the Costco and Home Depot, etc

Braydan Parker

Very convenient spot with everything you could need and perfect for fall or summer when you want that outdoors feeling that everyone craves during the nice seasons

Jo Iskander

We were really happy to discover this whole outdoor shopping complex was conveniently located close to our new home! It has all the major banks and a few restaurants, plus a gym, bulk food store, pharmacy, department stores, craft store, electronics store, office supplies store, grocery store, several clothing stores, liquor store, beer store, pet supply store, dollar store, furniture gallery, gas bar, food court, hardware store... and more! I personally don't find the distance between locations as bothersome as other reviewers have mentioned, but I do agree it's primarily a "car mall." (More than a bit of a hike if you're travelling by foot/transit.) Ridiculous amounts of free parking available everywhere. Many reserved spaces for accessibility. Back parking lot often used as "base camp" for the film industry while they're shooting in and around Ottawa Street.

Heather Mackenzie

Basically has everything I want. Groceries, LCBO, shoppers, Canadian Tire, dollar store, Marshalls, and even canna cabanna So something for everyone

Karega Anglin

Nice mini mall, but the A&W need help!... raw sunnyside up eggs and burnt pancakes and toast. Went back for an exchange... still got raw eggs.

hala alfarah

Very good service.

1960funnygirl

This place is almost never busy so there's tons of close parking spaces :). That also means the selection in many of the stores is pretty good.

Arawina Hagerty

I is a nasty dump. Totally hostile to humans. It loves cars though

Uncle James

It's a gigantic strip mall. Pretty much anything you need on a regular basis is there. Places open up pretty early. The food court building is pretty standard.

Dorothy Burridge

There is just about every thing you need there. But a car is very useful other wise you have a lot walking between stores

Cameo Quinn

Decent shopping selection. Food court offers a variety to choose from (Montforts is by far the best). The maintenence men are always hard at work keeping the grounds clean despite all the trash people dump on the lot. Would like to see a bookstore and a booster juice.

Peter Belitski

Lots of great stores to Shop at. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because if you're walking and not driving it's a bit of a trek getting from one end to the other. If you need a bank you can find the one you're looking for.

James Oag

The staff are welcoming, the space is great and it has a fountain... Which for whatever reason non of the other Fit4less' I've been to have. Plus you can't beat the price.

keith kralick

The Centre basically has everything you would need. I find myself going to the centre for anything, if I am in my low car.. There is a decent path to take to avoid speed bumps, if you head towards Canadian Tire and travel along the stores, there's no speed bumps and very little car traffic as most people use the middle road.

Vicky Knight

This mall is in walking distance to me, it isn't pedestrian friendly and is more of a convenience mall with a walmart, metro, dollarstore, shoppers, canadian tire, petsmart and several banks. The food court is great, I've always been able to get a seat especially with a stroller. The mall could do with more selection of stores for shoppers. A cinema would be great here too there is plenty of parking for one.

Christine Neale

Lots of parking. Stores easily accessible

ZANDER*

It's in a good location and easy to find and the staff is very helpful ????????????

BB BB

Lots of great stores with great staff but rated a 3 as there is alot of walking from one end to the other

FuriousFrank99

Everything you need in one place. Walmart, Dollarama, Tim Hortons, Beer Store, Major Banks.. you can't go wrong with The Centre in Barton. ????

Sarah Dokis

Lots of different stores for shopping.

Cynthia Bouchard Barry

I like it but u gotta check it for urself cuz u might have ur own opinion no one can't say ànything for any body elce cuz u haven't been to to feel that it's a place coming back 2 over n over I may do so but maybe u won't feel it's worth ur time. Right?

Becka James

I honestly hate what they did to the mall, and it is not pedestrian friendly, side walks are partial and Don't connect to be able to walk through to each area.

Cheryl Wilson

I use to like this plaza but in recent months I have notice a HUGE increase in beggar's. I have been loading my groceries in the back of my car when a beggar snuck up behind me to ask for money...scared the heck out of me! Today a friend of mine was at the Center and had to make several stops. I was told he was approached by 5 people asking for money, each at a different store and one stood w a sign at the stoplight asking for change. I like the stores and shops in this mall but sadly I will drive out of my way to go elsewhere as I no longer feel safe of comfortable shopping here, day or night. I hope the property owners do more to police the area and try to better manage the increase of vagrants begging.

sarah amina

Good stores but I don't like the design they should of made it into a better mall all connected

Aaron Dyck

This alleged food court has a poor variety of restaurants. There aren't very many choices and the places that are available aren't great. I've tried the Chinese food in this building twice and been disappointed both times. Others include a Subway and an A&W, both of which are exactly as expected. The Burrito place is pretty good, if you like that kind of food.

Kayla Desilets

The manager needs to hire some people who are smart and uses common knowledge. The morning staff is soooo slow and doesnt understand anything I was saying had to repeat myself 4 times for a simple order and they still managed to screw it up. Id rather wait until the night time because there staff is waaay better.

Terrence Cook

The nepotism and poor management makes this one of the worst employers at all of the stores.

Sare Bear

This mall is OK. I do not like that it's a strip mall. The parking lot is dangerous to walk through and makes this mall very inconvinient for moms with small children, kids and elderly this is a frequent complaint.

RICK VAN SINCLAIR .AKA. VANHOOVANSLOVIN

Kay Monz

The parking lot drives me nuts

Dave K

Great shopping center with everything you need!

jeff Nicolle

always busy busy.. =P

Robert Ames

Everything I needed in one location; very convenient!!

Jacob Destro

Lots of great stores, you can get all your basic shopping done here in a few hours, rather than driving around from store to store. The only thing i avoid is the lcbo here they're staff for the most part are friendly but the odd few are very snotty and disrespectful. Other than that highly recommend the centre on barton.

Akash Kadia

This area has everything you need... Tim Hortons... Dollarama... Staples... just think about something you can find it on this area... it is a bit far but you can find each and everything here... even car shops... garages... tire shop... you can find CIBC and scotiabank also there... Both the banks have drive through also...

Dora Aguiar

Although it's a big plaza all individual stores, lots of parking and good stores in there, I always enjoy going back there

Nik B

Always covered in garbage. Keep your kids out of the gardens and bushes, there's a lot of crackpipes and discarded syringes.

Paul Safranyos

Big box format so be prepared to drive between some stores. Lots of access from Kenilworth, Barton and Ottawa Streets and ample parking. Separate building for food with very good selection.

Antonio Neskovic

Everything is here I just wish it was still one big mall

Daniela R. (Rika88)

Looks nice, good stores, but watch your cars. Walked back to my car and saw a car pulled up by jt with the two people from that vehicle looking in.. Lets just say im lucky I was in and out of the shop I went to

Scott Bouchard

A convenient and accessible location with many services and stores that one uses for most things.

Beezy King

this place is okay... however not bicycle friendly... have had my bicycle stolen from walmart, lcbo, everywhere there's any ability to lock a bike while you go into any of the stores to shop/eat.... if you're not careful with your lock selection, your bike CAN BE GONE IN 60 seconds or less.

Dallas Bear

Was better as a mall. So many stores keep closing down here. Too many people who go here don't seem to understand how all-way stops work so be careful whether walking or driving. Weird amount of people come up to cars in lots asking for money which has made this place feel unsafe to me. Some stores are pretty good but in the summer there were a few days where a horrifying smell just takes over this entire area, not sure where it comes from... But it smells like a mountain of dead fish and weirdly sweet as well... It's gross. I also don't like having to park six different times because stores are too far apart to walk with a lack of sidewalks in some areas. And best to avoid on weekends as it can get really busy and certain places like where the banks and food court are, can be annoyingly busy to try and leave. I was a kid when the mall was here and it was much better although a bit run down... They should have just improved it rather than constantly creating more stores here that keep going out of business.

Bloodjinn Rowan

Someone is going to get hurt here based on the way people drive through the plaza. Running stop sign, speeding and all the failed turn signals. Be careful if you are walking through here.

KisBoki

This place is huge. Basically have everything that you are looking for. Bring a car tho because it's a half day program to walk from like CT to the beer store and back to your bank. The food court seem to be pretty clean but not so many options inside the building. There other food places are around tho.

Shannon Korotash

Excellent area for one stop shopping. Love these buildings of many stores close by.

Gisele Grenier

The mall itself is fine but of you are a pedestrian and need to walk the mall be careful of the drivers. Speeding is always a problem and not enforced.

Dawn Andrewsloucks

Wish it was an actual mall style to go indoors. The single store idea, miles apart is some what of a pain. But makes me choose not to go as frequent so i shop local instead. Not for pedestrian and trying to walk store to store is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Mardi Reid

Inconvénient massive conglomerates. Everything at your fingertips except for the comfort of a closed in environment

Jory Anguish

Nice selection of stores, not usually super crazy busy

Blondie SL

We go there a lot and has lots of parking so that's good.

Kii Moments

My favorite food options would be the middle eastern restaurant and a&w

Kii Moments

My favorite food options would be the middle eastern restaurant and a&w

Marc (Xiro)

I have to be honest it's hard to rate a large collection of stores and to ignore rating them, but I accept the challenge! I do feel that I am unable to emphasize that this review is not about any singular store enough. So this review will be about The Centre rather than the commercial residents of the location. It has to be said that I it really shows the age of the layout, and having took the step into the end of the idea of a singular building housing many smaller businesses inside. The problems begin with the awkward positioning of buildings that began in a pleasant spacious layout. From there it feels strongly as though each new design was made as a bandage. Now they are reclaiming areas for construction, the layout gets worse every single time they have broken earth since. The food court idea was novel but the draw of a food court is that you walked around the mall and often found the food court the same way those loops of fruit. The new design left it a crammed space normally taken by two restaurants, I don't know how well the commercial residents enjoy the level of business. Maybe I am wrong? Even still it shows us the way the modern mall has evolved and it has the scars to prove it. In a perfect world they could clear the whole thing. Take the time to make a new layout designed to handle growth. Then after they have a good idea of how they are going to handle this new format. That being said, if anyone knows where I can enjoy a perfect world? You need to share with the rest of us. Be well, and I thank you for taking the time to read this. Marc

Fey Akande

There are so many stores here like walmart, GNC, Michael's, Pet smart, The brick, Marshalls, and more. The Walmart is quite big and you find a lot of sales there

Melissa Ann Sayer

I feel as if The Centre on Barton was far better off as an enclosed shopping mall. It is tedious walking between stores and during Winter shopping is more of a chore than anything. There is nothing special and I miss when Centre on Barton used to have it's mini carnivals and fairs.

Yousuf Elashi

Bought a bottle that made my night even better

Barbara Swietek

I love going to the Centre on Barton. My bank is there, my phone company is there, so many stores to shop at. Alot of conveniences. Also I like the setup.

Aristidis Tsirigotis

Awesome

Mariana MC

Lots of good stores, all great sized and with a wide variety of products, lots of parking and also very accessible by bus

D-Reviewer

Lovely area, decent amount of shops around, park in the middle and walking around to other shops.

Darren Rhynold

Its always a good experience at the centre mall location, im glad that it happens to be my branch.

Amanda Blackburn

Who invented the inside-out shopping mall? What a terrible idea. "Smart" Centres are anything but. No one wants to walk for miles in the rain going from store to store. You feel like an idiot driving from store to store, but you kind of have to. The enormous, mostly empty parking lot is a terrible waste of space. The shops here are fine, pretty useful, but could someone please turn this mall right-side-out?

Jennifer Jaundoo Wolfenden

Love that Metro. Shoppers. Walmart. The Bulk Barn are all in the same place! Life made easy!!!

Ron Smith

Well I went to get my 3rd Covid shot. Friendly, kind and caring. Top notch, be nice to figure out where to get a real covid test?

rahul sadavarte

This mall has everything one would think of such as shopping groceries, clothes, foods, furniture, banking, medicines, optician, etc. All so conveniently located and within the same premise makes things even more simpler. A must place to visit for shopping needs.

ApeLaw

Great assortment of stores that cover a large range of price points. Just very spread out making this difficult to navigate for people with difficulty walking.

Norm Carriere

Good variety for the whole family. From schwarma to Pizza to Chinese to burgers find it all. Pretty clean usually as well, very important.

Neal R Klein

The bee's knees

Paige “TheyCallMeLove” Simmons

Who doesn't go here. We bank here, go to shopping, grab a bite to eat! It's a close to the house place to do just about everything we may need quickly and efficiently!

Aldo Pedreschi

There are so many good stores here.

Diane

Large, new stores in strip mall fashion as opposed to the old "Centre Mall". However, a lot of the smaller stores are empty or went out of business.

Jayson Griswold

From grabbing beer, liquor or grocery to shopping for clothing or banking the center has it all even a very large food court , However I feel that until we can actually sit down inside a restaurant to enjoy our meal or use the restrooms at our convenience , no place should be reviewed with a score of 5 out of five stars even though it is not something that they can control. But why get five stars for something that they're not providing such as cleanliness or in store service.

Marianne T

I am not a fan of the layout at all too many accidents. Whoever thought of the idea was out of their mind. #bringbackoldcentremall

Beckey Smith

Overall.. Not a convenient place to shop. If you drive from store to store then you have to keep getting everyone in and out but if you walk then your likely to have atleast one close call trying to cross the street. The stores are not grouped together in a way to make shopping easier and a small garden or playground would make things a lot easier. Children need a spot to be free. Additionally the food pavilion is lacking.. Its fairly small with boring options.

C. Williams

Am I supposed to evaluate the Parking lot? There's no mall or anything. There are multiple exits and entrances that can be confusing as only some of them are traffic light controlled, this is partly a designers fault and the City of Hamilton for it's lack of oversight with regards to entrances to various malls and even residences in the city. Otherwise the parking lot can be complete chaos depending on what day or time of day you are there, personally I avoid The Centre on Barton as much as possible as the Super Centre design is vastly inferior to the Centre Mall it replaced. I used to be able to park once and walk around a climate controlled building, now I drive from one store to another as the buildings can be as far as approximately 750 metres apart.

Chris Wachna

Lost of useful stores and a nice food pavilion. New stuff seems to be moving in frequently and there's ample parking. Some areas of the parking lot are a bit challenging to navigate when there are other cars but usually not too bad

Andrew Hibma

Exactly what you would expect with strip mall drive between stores development. Chain food for expected prices. Travel up Ottawa street and find something tastier and independent.

Glen Atwell

Not my favorite mall. It's spread out and not super practical to walk from store to store. The stores are clean and inviting you just have to plan to drive to the stores unless they are next to each other.

serafin sardoma

Best area....in the city if you like wine.

Lauren

Good variety of stores and easily accessible. Can do all shopping needed within the large plaza. On a convenient bus route as well. The food pavilion has good options and a nice variety.

Hamilton Fixed Rider

They shouldn’t of torn down the mall. They need to increase snow removal., and install MORE sidewalks on the property.

Haydn Kendall

Where to start with this place... I often feel like Frodo Baggins bringing the ring to Mordor when I’m about to shop here on foot. So far to walk, so many different environments, a fast changing and windswept climate, and a relentless cavalry of crossovers and 90’s beaters charging you from every angle. Sure, it has everything you need, but by the time you return home with your fistfuls of big box store purchases, you will be physically and emotionally depleted. Sidewalks end and appear out of nowhere. And they tend to disappear right before the largest 4 way stops, thus forcing old ladies with their walkers to ponderously shuffle through a cyclone of cars. Even walking the sidewalk along Barton is taking your life into your hands. I’ve almost been killed twice by a car turning from Barton into the plaza without looking. And I am an exceptionally large, visible person. The lot is so vast that you will often encounter multiple weather types on a single voyage from Canadian tire to Walmart. I once got snowed on, rained on, and then blasted with sunshine in a single trek. The wind is accelerated through the design of the buildings and parking lot. It seems that no matter what direction you walk, you are getting pummelled in the face with wind. This “mall” is a harsh, unrelenting place where one could easily die of exposure, Giant Tiger bags in hand. It’s probably how the seagulls and pigeons here are so freakishly large and plentiful. I’m sure they enjoy a defeated shopper or two a month.

Gail McArthur

Everything you need or want in 2 city blocks... Canadian tire..to A&W ... TOO the dollar store.. To shoppers for a new bottle of perfume..or Walmart... Gotta shop here Center on Barton in Hamilton

Joanne Hopkins

Wow, I hadn't been to the Center Mall area since before it was renovated. First time back to that area since. Much better now.

James Otterman

If your ever looking for a picture to put on the front of a book entitled '101 Ways to Screw Up a Mall' this dogs breakfast should be on the cover. Not only have all the quaint local businesses been removed all together in favor of soulless big box stores but even those are spread out all over the place. Well I guess during the two months a year that the weather is nice all the walking could be good for you but NO wait "let's not put in any side walks". Yep that's right no side walks. Ever wondered how a squirrel who finds himself on the 407 feels? Wonder no longer just come on down to the Centre and try to get from Walmart to Canadian Tire by way of Shoppers.

anais ngodebo

It’s really good around there different malls

Jim Horne

Got vax booster. Woohoo!

Vinny Campbell

Despite being a "mall", it's pretty inconvenient unless you drive. The stores are extremely spaced out and a pain to access considering the length of the property. I'm sure this is why some stores tend to not thrive there. Appearance-wise, it seems to be kept pretty clean, and that goes for the stores as well. It's a good thing it had a food pavilion, because if you start at Wal-Mart, you'll definitely be hungry by the time to walk there. I think overall, this is a case of "looks good, but is it functional?"

Dwayne “DDUBBTHEDIZZYDEVIL” Pinkerton

Enjoyed free wifi

blaineh9

Went for booster shot. Excellent planning and service. Very fast experience.100 per cent.

Jody Dulyk

A lot of walking between stores. Not physically challenged friendly. People drive from store to store. Aĺl malls are going this way. Eastgate is more friendly for old or disabled.

Debbie

Went to Tim Horton's and no washroom available for the customers. No washroom, no business. Will go elsewhere.

Kenneth Whitman

From a fast food perspective, The Center on Barton is an exceptional place to visit and relax for a meal. It offers free wifi and several menu choices from various food providers. I myself always choose Wok Express for the quality and quantity. highly recommend a visit to this exceptional place.

Bryan Teal

One stop shop for almost everything you need, from pharmacy's to hardware stores and, everything in between the center on Barton has it all. Withh the outlet layout of the mall, you're rarely crowded and can park steps from your favourite stores. As long as you can handle waiting a few minutes to turn left at any given time, this is the one stop shopping center you need.

Laura Willms

Best customer service. Awesome

Kathy Thompson

Too much traffic. Should have placed more popular places like Tim Hortons in the centre of the plaza to keep traffic away from entrance.

Mike Smith

Omg i have no idea who designed this nightmare.. if your on foot you will see how ridiculous this place is. You have to cross the road 4 or 5 times to walk across it and be able to stay on a sidewalk.. places are so spread out. Unfortunately the closest mall to me or i wouldnt go

Micke

Convenient location for me. I typically shop elsewhere though if I have the time. It does have a wide variety of stores, places to eat, grocery and banking options etc It is best travelled with a vehicle or if you want to exercise (lots of walking!)

Anna Coulombe

Not laid out very well. I like it the way it was 20 years ago much better!!!

debra

Went to td bank .arif wasthe person i dealt with .the transaction was easy and perfect start to finish ¹

Terri Walker

Selection not ver good

Isabel Mercanti

I don't like coming here anymore ever since Wal-Mart tore down the indoor mall and staggered the stores all over the place forcing people to keep jumping in and out of their cars to get from one store to another; this makes the parking lot traffic overly busy making it difficult and dangerous for anyone who must walk from store to store. Also trying to pull a bundle buggy or baby buggy through the snow is very difficult not a good place for seniors to shop anymore. Myself and others feel Walmart did this on purpose to keep people shopping only in their store, for this reason myself and others will not be shopping in this Wal-Mart. If Wal-Mart had not destroyed the mall after purchasing it and just put there store in the mall as Sears was closing keeping it a family friendly shopping experience then we would of more than happily shopped here. Now we must go out of our way to shop at a indoor family, senior friendly environment. Wal-Mart also destroyed the mall on the mountain. Walmart has become such a greedy conglomerate that they do not care about the comfort of there patrons as we have to make our way over ice through snow dodging traffic just to get to another store that is now in a plaza instead of a climate controlled mall. Wal-Mart SHAME ON YOU!!!

don brant

Good food

Chris Papalazarou

Lots of stores, half I've never been to yet. Spacious, but traffic tends to jam things up near the morning and afternoon rush hours.

Taasedyen Chowdhury

Nice, spacious, and a casual place to eat and work and hangout with others. Love the atmosphere, and love all the fast food. Especially Popeyes. They provide the best customer service.

Marcus Farrell

It's ok but you really do need to have a car to shop here. Everything is to far apart to walk.

Darknothing

Always good to watch people. Crazy stuff always happening

Danica Djukic

A good place yo shop& dine!

Tod Laflamme

Great clean place lots of selection was just there and very nice people as well

shelly demers

Good plaza. Miss the old centre mall but times have changed and box stores are here I guess. Good selection of stores here. Canadian Tire, Walmart, Dollarama etc. The Brick. Staples. Best to look on their web page for a complete list. Also a one stop shop for the food court which is located in one building. Tim Hortons is also in the plaza but not with the other food places.

Robert-Anthony Browne

Always a pleasure visiting this shopping centre, mixing with the many different types of people that the earth comprises.... Much better now that it has been converted from a mall to all outside stores. This gives the stores more individuality and uniqueness and which shoppers seem to enjoy. A gamble somewhat by the developer which seems to have paid off, since there are no vacancies....

J S

Friendly, knowledgeable staff. 5/5 if they updated their webspace to reflect their actual hours of operation

Ruth-ann Powell

Went to buy bath towels at cenre mall Wal-Mart... disappointed... their selection was very limited in their colour selection in their plush towels. Not to mention not a very big area designated to towels etc.

Randine Mount

Beer store awesome staff

Frank Rosenberg

Move to more upscale You are a monopoly You guys can afford it

Shereen Airth

Credit Union ATM! Good love free and convenient.

Shereen Airth

Credit Union ATM! Good love free and convenient.

Nik Lee

Wok Express is the best Chinese food in the city bar none!! I won't go anywhere else!! They have a number of restaurant options at the Pavillion, but I wish they were open later!

Louis Prebianca

TD Bank. Lineup outside. 2 empty teller positions. Some customers inside socializing with tellers

Robert Wagner

For the life of I can't understand why these stores are so far apart, not pedestrian friendly. Beer store in Walmart parking lot makes sense I guess???? But what a traffic nightmare. This space could have been used much better. Way to mess it up.

Sara Hefler

It's a great spot for shopping and the wal mart has a great selection for clothes

Jane Henry

Needed office supplies, picked a few items up from Staples at Centre Mall.

Valerie Thomas

Center mall is my go to place for all my shopping needs

Stephen Fehir

This latest version of Hamilton's Center Mall is a traffic nightmare with far too many speed bumps. Originally an outdoor mall with all stores nearby then an indoor mall. In '08 they tore it down and you now have to drive from store to store. Pedestrians are not welcome.

Rikki Beaulieu

Best selection in the city. Should have what ur looking for.

Deb Smith

Had a battery that died in this crazy cold weather went to Canadian Tire phone the number on the sign it said by appointment only and they had room and took me and I am so grateful Canadian Tire thank you

Jason Kane

Not the same as the old mall but it has everything you need

Jason Kane

Not the same as the old mall but it has everything you need

Debbie A Ellis

Was at Shoppers Drug Mart.

Max Benz

This is a very important place our eye doctor is there and having had cataract done and going for the. second time. to have the progress checkt and it has been a huge. success.Im able to see and read without eyeglasses exelent

Try It Out

Great place to buy beer or booze. Selection of beer is sometimes a bit underwhelming considering their purchasing power.

Helena S.

Nice, new busy center, located in the old, dirty industrial area. The center is like "breath of clean air" in this part of city...

Larry Kightley

Found what I needed an got out be fore any line ups

Melissa Mepham

Definitely has changed over the years

Victoria Hall

It's a bit of a nuisance when you are walking from place to place. There needs to be more safe walk ways from store to store.

Elizabeth Mazzanti

Most staff is very helpful and they always have my drink of choice ... the only turn off is that they allow the homeless and junkies to sit outside right at the door

Lizz Stewart

I don't like the way the stores are all separated now,It wA Much more convenient before when the stores were adjoined.Especially in the winter months or when raining

Klebrig Andrews

Went to PetSmart. Very small. Limited products. Walked to the Walmart and was surrounded by homeless panhandling, and white trash yelling at thier kids.

Dale Graham

Great place to all you may need

Rochelle Tew

Lots of stores not the original center mall now it's more of a plaza well lots of little plazas in one huge plaza

Amanda Dent

Average stores designed for drivers not safe for pedestrians

stephen berrie

Still prefer the old Center Mall

Pete Dzamba

Another decent mall, lots of variety.

Albert David

Don't go there!!!!

Jackie Coté

It has a lot of great stores...if you like big boxed stores. I like Malls better.

Holly Morrison

Nice large seating area with beautiful details to the building. Washrooms are kept clean. Variety of restaurant options for every taste.

Kevin Dakin

Has some good stores tho the layout to get from store to store is not the greatest if you don't drive if its ok. But in bad weather you will get wet

Brian Roulston

Good out door mall

Brian Roulston

Good out door mall

Alexander “nickname” ismyname

One stop shopping.

Brad M

Better than the Walmart there. A regular LCBO.

David Armstrong

The store was very neat and clean. The manager was wonderful when I questioned a scanning practice policy. Would recommend the store highly. The nicest Giant Tiger store ever.

Dianne Loveman

Easy to find everything I need there.

Krista McKenna

This new shopping centre has basically every single store that any person could possibly need to complete their daily shopping, and then hit the gym or/and go to a restaurant and have a nice meal with your family and friends...There's even a huge PetSmart and a Metro grocery store and a Wal Mart, a beer store and LCBO!

Katherine Pasternak

Went to Metro. Well stocked. Sushi selection wasnt good. Got what was needed and left

Ron Steel

Lots to do and it's convenient

Mustafa Lasheen

Excellent plaza in the heart of Hamilton, almost every shopping need can be attained here along with many options for restaurants and banks

Paul Hickey

Place is horrible, should have kept it like the old mall, enclosed so you can walk around safely and not be in danger of getting hit by a car. The architects did a horrible job of laying out the place, where'd you get your architect license, from a cracker jack box?

Paul Hickey

De Silva

Very decent mall and with lots of parking. This mall more like large strip mall. Walmart in here not very big, that's the only complain and other than that very good.

Akram Nassar

Great selwction of stores for day to day needs as well as if you're just in the mood for a shopping spree!

Nathan Stephenson

Great shopping Center! Lots of stores! They definitely have what you need!

Albert T

This is first time visiting this place so I don't think this will be a fair evaluation. This review will be base on this visit and probably only visit since I don't reside in the Hamilton area. Based in initial impressions, it seems like nice place to visit and the general area was clean. Traffic flow in the parking lot could be better designed in my opinion. If I was in the Hamilton region and close to this area I would visit this place again

Joseph Sayegh

they destroyed it ,I used to love to shop at the center mall go for a walk get something to eat and now I hate what they call smart center there is nothing smart about what they did you have to drive from one store to another especially for the old folks and once you are in the parking lot good luck getting out most exits are one way I don't go to the smart center it is to smart for me now I shop at east gate square Lime Ridge Mall Jackson square or Burlington malls

Mary Goakery

The owner manager is rude

Avery Goulet

Very clean and organized

Tlwave88

It's an amazing plaza that features multiple stores, including Wal-Mart, Canadian Tire, Metro, The Brick and Shoppers drug mart. As well as a petsmart that has been recently added. They also have the food pavilion that has multiple varieties of food. A&W, Wok express, Montforts, Subway and more! As well for shopping needs, they have a Suzy store in the plaza, stitches ,Mark's, Labels, they have banks such as CIBC, Scotia bank and TD. There are multiple things in the plaza to do for all your necessary needs.

Jeanette B

Lots of stores but miss the mall still. Not consumer friendly (no shelter between stores). Also not enough safe customer Crossing zones. This was made only for those who drive.

Patricia Hanneman

Too many stores closed. The Cinemas were closed nearly 20 years ago. Needs a Swiss Chalet & a Old Navy store.

Carrie Mckiernan

Drivers beware...people don't know how to drive here. I thought we were on a lockdown just neccesary trips hahaha it's busier than normal. Keep your masks on.

Jessica Gaber

I'm not quite sure how all the big box stores stay open with the parking lots as empty as they are at the Christmas season (maybe everyone has just used public transit to arrive?). That said, it's a great alternative to super centres like the Meadowlands when you want to go somewhere specific, like Michael's - nowhere near as hectic, and a good selection of stores. Plus, the free standing "food court" building is very handy.

Paul Pedersen

This Mall is great. Its fairly new and got all your shopping needs. A very large parking lot, all free parking and always close spots:) all the stores are the best and the largest compared to thier sister stores nearby. Walmart ,canadian tire, dollar store, lots of banks a huge food court. Boston pizza.. some clothing stores... it's got something for you

Dave Gabriel

Good place to shop or bank. Food court is very nice for a quick bite to eat or even take out.

Enacia Munn

I give it a 4 out of 5 because the only downside is winter. I don't have a car, so in winter it is more difficult to navigate with the cold and snow.

Timothy Hamlin

It good fast in and out very nice clean like the other place's I go too.

Cat Brugnano

It's ok. I miss it when this place used to be a mall and that you weren't exposed to the elements whenever you came here.

ed van

Lazy don't have a clue

Allison Fraser

A reasonable location with some good stores, 3 stars is because as a business park it's only okay and is lacking in a major draw like it had prior to the renovation and update.

Geneva Neale

It is A very different Mall. Too many minute driving from one store to the other. There is a name for it. BIG BOX We all PREFER one ACCESS TO ONE MALL. ONE BUILDING. SAFETY. SENIORS CAN NOT STAND THE OPENESS, is there a Police kiosk at the Mall? The mall feels UNFRIENDLY and PAINFUL TO WALK OR DRIVE AROUND.

Laura Sutton

Wasn't too busy this morning when I was there ...I'm sure to he mad rush will start soon. ????

Gilles Bonds

Just went to buy food at GT and picked up my Kiwanis bingo cards and Loto tickets .and the bank ..done great mall though ????

Jay Tee

individual stores are OK. layout is poor for driving and worse for pedestrians. Avoid walmart and the questionable characters hang out around it.

Bila Monster

Convenient plaza have all the banks as well as Canadian tire and grocery store, but we miss there food court stores,

Erica Kildau-Stearns

I don't like the way everything is so chopped up. You could get lost trying to get to another store because the parking lots and exits are not all connected.

scott metcalfe

One stop shopping in a four square block are.....ample parking ,and everything from gum quality classes grocery store, art store and food court........AND recently added.....a great gym.

Kimmie Munro

Stores are kinda far apart from each other but great selection of stores and a building for food take out or eat in, gets you out of the cold. There's also a Tim Hortons at the mall

Garage Thompson

Standard big box mall. Everything available

Kim Wilde

I love this place. Wal-Mart, Metro, Marshal's , The Brick, Michael's, Canadian Tire, Dollarama plus more. Giant, Giant Tiger opening fall of 2018.

The 1 Vigillante

Cool and trending looking stores. Lots of options for products and centrally located in the east end. Great food pavilion. The parking lot gets pretty busy though and can be a bit frustrating at times.

Wendi Lahaie

Came from Windsor to pick up my new addition to my family my new babygirl (fur baby)and I love Ruffin's pet store use to go there all the time when I lived in Hamilton

paul wells

Good service

Frank Curia

Empty parking lot, easy in and out shopping

Joao Paiva

Everything in one spot ????

Sayed Bukhari

It was a beautiful mall but new strip style destroyed its beauty. Not a friendly place for pediatricians, child and elderly people. Disappointed.

Jacqueline Mill

Friendly, well stocked kick staff

Jessie Sarson

Oh@ was car wash my car needed badley ,this wash slways best guess new ones starting work not sure how do but i was very disappointed all around my car wasn't done for money i paid so i went back they redone, in side store needed a polish and shine i was very disappointed inside store.

Scott Payette

A decent selection of retailers. It remains to be seen whether this redevelopment will survive once their initial leases are up.

Trisha V

Metro Grocery store, we love shopping there. Love the Salad bar as well as pre made salads, great price

John Marshall

Staff are always friendly and helpful. Rooms are very clean and you have control of the room temperature which is very nice. Plenty of towels.

Greg Lucas

Large,Clean parking lots. Not an indoor mall. You have to walk everywhere. No weather protection for patrons.Stores are neat and well appointed.Staffing is excellent. No seasonal outside decor.. Public washrooms well hidden and in stores you have to ask,why . General high traffic volume, can be dangerous for pedestrians.

Rachel Pinsonneault

Almost never stop here. The parking lots are a zoo. I wont go from store to store with kids in and out of carseats. If i do go its one store and thats it. Definitely not safe for pedestrians.

Isabelle Shields

Nice store great staff

Josh Learn

Seemed empty, but the stores that were open were decent. It was nice that it attached to the library. Might be more busy during a different time of day.

car car

due to covid i cannot break into cars anymore but this is a great car breaking center

Betty Guitard

WALL- MART's are the BEST for SHOPPING!So far the Staff are Friendly, Cheerful,& Helpful. Especially,theWall-Mart on Upper James.also the Pharmacy is ^GREAT,^LIN is Excellent, veryKind & Helpful!!Dolly is GOOD&Very Nice! Thank You Everyone that Work's For ALL the WALL-MART's

Cindie McGloine

Terrible traffic patterns there. Also waited 10+ minutes in drive thru at Tim Hortons. Not happy.

Kelly Bingham

Lots of stores in one convenient place. I like the outdoor mall style so you can just drive to the places you need to go to. Makes shopping so much faster.

Christine Cuk

Has the stores and services you need but pretty dystopian

karen Murfin

Centre mall has has everything you need many stores plenty of parking just be sure to lock your vechile

violet payne

Once upon a time Centre on Barton used to be very nice place to shop, however now is not that popular but you can still find lot of nice things you want to buy. Take a walk on the sunny day and enjoy the shopping.

Jolie Eaton

It is a smart centre which means you must walk from store to store outside. There is no accessible area to walk the side walks have ramps on one end to get on but when tou get to the other end there is nobramp to get off, very bad planning. We really should go back to having indoor malls when everyone knows we have an aging population.

Connie Allen

It's ok but I liked when it was the mall don't like that we have to walk to store to store especially when cold out

Tina White

Great start! A little bit of every kind of store. Great food court. Never too busy

P Da

Good place for beer, wine, and rum. Whiskey and bourbon too!

Wayne Baxter

I go there every time l come into town and meet up with friends, great staff and food

Mark Atkinson

One stop for everything.

Rick Lockhart

Typical Big Box plaza. Not pedestrian friendly but lots of shopping, services and a building dedicated to a food court. Walmart Superstore, Canadian Tire, Metro, Marshall's, The Brick, Michaels are some of the stores. Beer Store and a good LCBO.

S P

I came in the late evening. Stores were still open and not busy with vehicle or pedestrian traffic. It was busy with emergency vehicles driving though from police, fire and EMS. A quick stop with so much going on. This area has the LCBO and the Metro in the same parking lot. #localguides

Kathryn Goegan

I work here so... It's good? Pays the bills? Seriously though the place is kept clean, responsive security, lot of selection in shops. Wish it wasn't one of those multi-block California style malls where you have to walk half a mile from shop to shop in the winter but if you drive it's a non issue.

Dora

Great location. Good selection of stores. Banks include TD, Scotia, and CIBC. LCBO, beer store. Walmart. Places to eat, good Boston Pizza location. Canadian tire always has deals on, Dollerama. Lots of clothing options as well. Stitches outlet, usually have 10$ sales. Large Ardenes location. Shoppers drug Mart, Rogers, fido and more. Marshall's and lovely Metro location.

Tonya G

The roadways are insane. Not very well laid out. Not pedestrian friendly at all. A lot of empty buildings.

Shauna MacNeill

So man different stores love them all

Thomas Schilf

Horrible. I had to go to three separate stores, one of which was at either end and could not walk it. I had to drive from store to store. Even that was a challenge. It is a poor layout and not environmentally friendly in the slightest.

Alphonso C4 Jackson

It's always wonderful at the Barton center, peeps all we need to do is follow the instructions posted in the place of business and always rem to wear a mask, have urself a peaceful an safe day..

Laura Menard-Locs

Great shops. Poorly laid out, if you don't have a vehicle, it's a workout to go from one store to another carrying all of your purchases with you.

Daisy F. (Daisy F.)

This place sucks!!!!! If you happen to be a walker (me) then this is the worst place you can go to for anything. There are very few sidewalks or crosswalks. I once waited nearly 5 minutes to cross from beside the LCBO to get to Metro. NO ONE stopped even though I was standing at a clearly marked crosswalk. Most the traffic is from people cutting across the lot. It is 850 meters to get from WalMart to Canadian Tire. Restaurants: only if you like fast food. Expensive fast food. What some people describe as garbage. I suspect many of the stores are just waiting out their leases, then they will be gone. I don't know what braintrust approved this box store parking lot, but they must have left their brain in their other pants. The only good thing here are a variety of banks, credit unions and loan sharks.

Mike Gouthro

Was it a nice peaceful experience

Brenda Lee Kurpe

Parking available - Individual stores

Maricar Tardecilla

Lots of nice stores and lots of parking.

Paula Laforme

Went to the Dentist. I always have a good experience there.

Arifa Nauman

A very convenience place to shop almost anything you need.

jennifer Boyle

The stores are fine but unless your a sprint runner or athlete it is very hard to shop store to store. Needs more 4 way stops in the back of mall so you can cross to stores in the front. And what happened to all the green space that were in the plans?

MEMORABLE

A great variety of stores but it is no longer a walking inside mall so you have to go outside to go from store to store and it is about a on long parking lot so to walk from Tim Hortons to Wal-Mart takes about 7 to 10 minutes even though they are in the same huge parking lot.

Jeremy Westerhof

Parking was good

Grace Stockham

There’s really all of the stops you need here. Walmart, grocery store, drug store, clothing, salons. 90% of my shopping trips are somewhere in this mall.

Ron Pereira

I remember when this was Canada's first shopping mall, or some such distinction. As a big box location, it still has lots of great stores, but you better bring some wheels to move between them. Huge location. I like the food court building.

catt hutton

The parking can be difficult. I do like the selection of stores.

David Coutts

HS every store you could need on a daily basis.

Gracie B

Many great stores. I've been going to this Centre since I was a child. So many changes over the years -- all good!!!

Moe Ferreira

The service at the Center Mall location was fabulous. I dealt with Kathie I would definitely come back again.

Cindy Mahylokstet

I heard that in the empty Marshalls store they are putting a Giant Tiger store. Hope it's true. The Mall just keeps improving.

Brittany Dixon

The centre always pits me in a mood because eveything is spaced out ... Spent 3 hours at walmart trying to find shorts for my husband and nothing was organized in the mens department.. Finally he gets the shorts and take them home just to return them because sizes didnt match on hang to pamts n were too big. Plus we got hungry with our journey through the men department and of course the only food court type place is half a mile across the parking lot. The centre the better when it was mall everuthing was there n less walking.

Lisa Barney

It's an easy get around. In a word, convenience.

Joe Lo

Very friendly and helpful staff always kept very clean

Louis Prebianca

Didn't shop just went to the bank. No line ups, went in and out in 5 minutes.

Stephanie Lukosius

This PLAZA is a straight up disaster to navigate as a car or a pedestrian.Insanely busy with really awful pathways and weird segregated parking lots. For the LCBO however: this store tends to be busy, and a touch crowded, with some narrow pathways, but the staff are always friendly, helpful and understanding. The selection is also surprisingly great!

Al Smith

The old mall was better dont know why they ever changed it.

Glenn Fournier

Great Food Choices!, Clean Atmosphere, but found it hard to communicate with certain Vendors.

Justin Majik

I work in the area So I visit quite often. It's a one stop shopping for all your needs. Excellent food court, nice Canadian tire, a few restaurants, beer store, lcbo, Walmart, and a metro among others.

Dave Eath

Great staff. Tries to keep safe patrons with distance markers, plexy glass, and controlled access.

Kelly Nott

Lots of stores to offer a variety of shopping experiences.

Donald Ralph

Just went for food at A&W, Metro for groceries as well Walmart. Good service all round. Lots of parking. Good mall

Constantina Martelli

Lots to chose from. Great variety of shops!

Lisa Jane

LCBO is pretty standard. This one is a good size with a good selection, helpful and friendly staff. No complaints here. They still card me too, so thank you ???? hahah

Terry

Love going here because never really busy and good selection of stores and banks.

David AKA Sonny Ross

It's NOT what it USED TO BE....when ALL the stores were "ENCLOSED", in one CLIMATE CONTROLLED LOCATION...THEN, you could spend a WHOLE AFTERNOON, LEISURELY STROLLING through the mall, SANS HEAVY WINTER COAT, ETC!!...LOTS of parking, BUT, I DON'T GO THERE, MUCH, anymore!!!

Cassey Emery-Knight

Easily accessible, a lot of different variety for anything you may need during your shopping journeys

Stacy Hornby

Great selection and usually pretty quick cash out

R W

Good layout and traffic flow access to big box stores located here. Convenient to main streets and the QEW.

Mitch Mikoda

Not too busy and very streamlined... Very nice!

Jackie McBride

Got what l needed and the staff helped me find something that would work for a lock on a folding picture. Great stor and staff.

Ernie McElmon

I was at cana cabana today to pick up some bottles of CBD oils. LBS-Sunset THC 23.0% INDICA.

John MacAusland

It's easy to find everything you need and meany different alcohols around the world.

Will B

Lots of stores. I shop here often. Pretty good experience, food court is decent.

Aron sanghavi

Great shopping area with all branded stores and food court.

Lyla Khan

I love that there is such a varoety of stores in one area. There are over 20+ stores in this one area. They have a cafeteria, ardene, carters, marshalls, staples, the brick and many other stores. This is a great one stop shopping place. It has all the tstores you need. I personally live the food area they have because there is a lot of good restaurants.

Robbie13

Formerly The Centre Mall.. Since being de-malled years back.. Its not the same.. Setup warrants one to have to drive from store to store instead of walking.. Very minimal amount of bike racks n not at every store! Wide variety of stores though.. Walmart.. Metro.. Marshalls.. The Brick.. Dollarama..Canadian Tire.. All the major banks a credit union.. Also a separate building for a food court.. Wide variety/selection inside..

Chevy Trucks

Out on a bike ride and saw this place Been long time since I've lived here. Just moved back.

jim

Overpriced Canadian liquor store

William Bertrand

I like the Centre mall more when it was the older one this place is great location for everything you need ???? ????

Beckey Fehst

The stores themselves seem to be fine. Missing sidewalks, long walks between stores and no green space leaves a lot to be desired.

Victor G

I come here cause it's close to me, but I dont like it because of how open it is. As someone who doesn't drive its a big hassle to walk, let say, from Walmart to dollarama when the parking lot was made mainly for cars and not pedestrian to get through.

Ashley Whalen

The layout is horrible. I also can not believe how many empty storefronts this plaza has! The complex itself is only about 10 years old and to see multiple empty stores is crazy. The pedestrian situation is horrible, it's an accident waiting to happen.

funny girl

Very well organized

Jeremiah Svensson

Used the RBC very convenient location. Fast service

Emma Gilchrist

Lots of nice stores, parking lots can be hard to walk through though

Gail Swartz

Great place

Salty Parabolist

Essentially a "power centre" plaza that replaced Centre Mall when the indoor mall structure was demolished in 2008. It's an easily accessible and pedestrian-friendly locale with a good number of big chain stores. Most of the big name stores had previously been far enough away that they were difficult to get to, especially for locals who rely on public transit to do their shopping. The Centre has its own food court building, "The Food Pavilion" which is a fantastic idea. It's esthetically pleasing,, with much of the exterior made up of Windows and sky lights, and the whole dining area is one big open space right to the roof two storeys above. Importantly, it has a large clean public washroom area, something most big box store locations lack. The vast majority of the time it's a great place to shop, but.. occasionally the whole area smells of landfill.Usually only a little, but I've been there a few times where the smell was overwhelming. Not so bad for drivers, but horrible for anyone who walks/busses. One star off for the occasional air quality issue, otherwise a pretty decent shipping locale.

Gail Mc Ginnis

Not accessible without car. No busses or benches to sit on. No trees for shade. Right on Target is the best thing about this place.

Eric Urquhart

Terrible to navigate through

chris cdyan

the chicken swarmer was awful , the chicken was chewing on bands , the white sauces had no flavor , high prices for the produce and the store is dirty , ceiling vents above the cook are are black with dirt and dust, totally unsanitary, they has lost my patronage

Lisa Place

Although it has some great stores because they are freestanding buildings it becomes very tedious for someone who is walking.

Bob Steele

Employee was knowledgeable and took no time to find what I needed.

Raid t.v

Centre on Barton dental great place to take care of your dental work, and friendly staff. Got wisdom teeth pulled and cleaning done amazing work wouldn't go anywhere else

Enise Abdelhalik

Very good sales for christmas.

The layout is awful. I miss the old mall. A nightmare for anyone to navigate without a vehicle. People drive so crazy like they're trying to kill you. Hardly any crosswalks. If not more stop signs, at least pedestrian crosswalks can be installed. The ones where you lush the button to cross, making the sign flash until you get to the other side. More sidewalks. Awful in the winter. Needs Better stores. there has been empty lots for years because nobody wants to shop here. The demographic speaks for itself... bluenotes was open for a year. No one wamts to invest because they see stores closing, So those empty lots remain empty. The only thing recently that could have brought more traffic is canna cabana.

Pat D

Moving from store to store is not easy as the mall does not "flow". It is divided up into four areas. One long one across the back works well. It is a long strip with a very big Canadian Tire with a gas bar, a Staples, Dollarama, new Giant Tiger and a few other stores. Moving among these stores is not too hard. The WalMart is off by itself so you would have to drive over there. Then there is section with a Shoppers Drug Mart while another section has a The Source and a building with a food court. There are other fast food stores off by themselves across the parking lot near a credit union. It is all a little disjointed, even for a big box mall. That being said, it is clean and there is a good variety of stores. I do come here often.

John Michael Fisher

Clean & quick...good selection Staff great.

Rose Neglia

Just great place to shop????

Dale Worth

I visited the Walmart to purchase the 5 gallon water jugs. There were none on the rack so I asked about it at customer service. The clerk followed up immediately and arranged to have some brought to the desk and even offered to load the bottles in my car. I was super impressed with the service! I purchased a couple other things while there but my experience is limited so I can't really provide an overall rating.

Iss the indoor mall experience

bonnie mccully

This place is ridiculous to walk through. Put in more sidewalks for pedestrians. This is the number one reason this place has went down hill. It's easier for us who walk to bus to eastgate or limeridge where were not going to be hit by a car walking through the parking lot from store to store.

Cassandra Jewell (Jelly Jellyfish)

Super hard being a pedestrian as it is incredibly spread out. Sidewalks and walkways to stores are not maintained well in the winter, I highly recommend wearing the baby instead of a stroller in the snowy months. Main crossing points can be hard to cross as there is no pedestrian markings at them and when there is vehicles rarely obey them. There are no those who the system have let down frequently begging for money, it would be one thing if it was just by store fronts or walkways but they approach vehicles with aggression and one for sure has been known to break into cars for the change (Only the change but still). On the plus side, there is everything you need, banks, Canadian tire, Shoppers Drugmart, Walmart, Michaels, Staples, health food store, electronics stores, hobby store and more... As an added bonus soon to be Giant tiger and Fit4Life location (in the old Target building). I just wish I felt safer and that it didnt take me 20 minutes to get from my bank to the one store I need to visit lol

Shane Crewson

Class "A" store with small vintages section. Slightly above average as far as selection. Staff is generally more helpful than most.

Rick Coombs

lots of walking with not that many walk ways. Designed for people with cars only. On the other hand it has great stores to choose from just a bad set-up.

Brad Jones

Centre Mall is a good up and coming neighborhood in Hamilton. You can find almost anything you are looking for at this mall. Great food court.

bonnie worsley

Most choice stores available at this location. Wal-Mart, beer, liquor store, as well as several banks and clothing stores. Pretty much an area to do all. Several restaurants to tempt your belly.

Tracy R

Quick and easy pickups

Emily Brown

Really its abouy what store you go into. You can buy food, clothes, shoes, food and gas for the car all in the centre in barton. You can even have your hair cut!

Rachel Kawalec

I love the Center Mall, because all the stores in one area, I don't really have to go, anywhere else, & most of the people in the stores are friendly, even during the COVID dilemma right now! A Big KUDOS, & a also God bless them all AMEN!! Thanks guys doing a fantastic, & great job!

Carolyn P. Muir

All sorts of big and small stores. WalMart, Staples, Tim Hortons, several Banks, hair salons, Canadian Tire, Dollarama, etc. Lots of parking. Friendly stafff. Food court. Good shopping.

Jamie Cowan

They have everything you need all located conveniently in one plaza walmart the beer store the LCBO a variety of different hair salons restaurants a food court and even tim hortons canadian tire ardenes bay oshkosh michaels for the crafty and everyones favorite store the dollar store which in my opinion should be changed to the dollars store lmao because not much there for a 1 dollar anymore lol

Alex Aldridge

Was busy as hell not good shopping for a long time that is fine l have 2. Mouths of food

Bailey Evering

There is a decent variety of stores at the Centre however there are a number of vacant stores and spaces to be built up. Some store fronts seem to have a high turnover and stores don't last long. Probably one of the worst parking lots to navigate as a pedestrian or vehicle.

Deborah Lynn Dow

Can enter each store individually. Loads of parking

Nathan Lindstrom

Plenty of parking. Though you get the odd jerk driving recklessly through the parking lot. You can find just about anything you could possibly think to put I your home here.

Gus DiNardo

Good variety of alcohol

A Google User

Got what l needed and the staff helped me find something that would work for a lock on a folding picture. Great stor and staff.
