So there is a Wal-Mart super centre. A very nice LCBO. Beer store. Shopper drug Mart. And many other stores but in the old mall section that wasn't torn down there is a small Chinese takeout place that could be one of the best in the city. They load the container with food. Enough for two meals. No one beats their price. Not sure of the name but you can't miss it. Next to subway.

Small shopping centre but well laid out. Not a massive selection but the stores there are your necessities. The Walmart staff are PHENOMENAL. Returns are a breeze. The gentleman who works returns should be commended for his kindness and positivity and work ethic. Very dedicated employee. Purposely drive from Cambridge there because returns at cambridge are well known to be demeaning experiences every time. Management knows but does nothing. The upper James store is just a joy to shop at. Much more selection. If you’re into DIY they are starting to compete with Michaels!!! Yay!!!! The wonderful blonde woman who works the dressing room area and jewellery desk is phenomenal. Was so great to me that I helped her with a broken belt rack that was a safety concern. She asked if she could adopt me. My god I begged her to. What a wonderful woman. Store manager was awesome too and very receptive to my feedback and kind. Great Walmart. Worth the drive.

I have been in this location many many times due to location. It is always the same everytime. Looks dirty, shelves are never stocked, I go in to this Walmart and always leaving without many of my items as shelves are not stocked and need to go somewhere else to get what I need. Needs a good cleaning. Staff not helpful or friendly.

I hate that they changed the centre mall to an open air mall type of thing. We live in Canada and it gets cold in the winter, the old mall could have used a facelift...instead they tear it down.

Part of the original enclosed mall remains as a runt. The rest has been made into a big box style with parts undeveloped. The name used is used over and over again the same as the owners stores. This leaves no sense of which location as there is no geographic or locality nominclature Incorporated or individualized naming thus it becomes a question of checking the map for which SmartCentres is referenced.

It's your run of the mill Walmart. You can get fresh, frozen and dry foods here aswell as their other usual departments. Shelves are full stacked as per Walmart's practice in business ensuring you feel everything you need can be found. Self checkouts and a Mc Donald's located with in. Fairly busy location but lines always move fast. Usual Walmart staff so friendly as required by the company.

Went to the bank & then to Shoppers. CIBC is very helpful, all the staff is nice & l had all my needs taken care of. Picked up a few things at Shoppers Drug Mart. Staff very friendly & they where asking where my service dog Hope was. It was the same day that Hope had lifesaving cancer surgery. Hadn't been there for a while so l was surprised they remembered us, told them about Hope's ordeal & they where very concerned. Made me feel good to know they care.

Walmart on Upper James Street on Hamilton isn't unlike other Walmarts in Canada, with basically the exact layout as any other store. The place is normally really busy, I find myself having trouble navigating the store and it feels like being in a busy highway. Some of the employees were a little strange, one yelling at me for stepping over a wooden palette in the middle of an aisle (which I did because of how crowded it was). However, the store has a huge selection and things are rather cheap, and bring a college student it is very helpful to be close to a place where I can get all the essentials I need.

Great experience at this location. Clean organized shelves that were fully stocked. Quite busy but didnt interfere with what we were going there for. Quick check out with friendly cashiers ready to help. Also have a large section for people to use the self checkout method which may be preferred if the lines ups at the regular cash have a line up

Not an ideal layout for a shopping centre- definitely designed for cars and as such pretty unpleasant to get around on foot, especially if you are walking to or from the LCBO in the far end. This poor review is not to speak to the quality of any individual stores, just the general usage of space.

Easy to get to by bus, and accessible for everyone. A one stop shop with just enough stores - NOT a huge mall with parking and crowded spaces! Best thing, there's a good size Shopper's Drug Mart!! Basic strip mall containing several big box stores, including Wal-Mart and Shoppers Drug Mart. Centrally located, but has no unique draw. The parking lot can be difficult to navigate due to the multiple entrances and I have seen more than one traffic accident caused by sudden turns around corners.

Never a hassle price matching. Decent produce. Meat selection can be tricky so mind what you pick up but still mostly good. Often sold out of 710ml coca cola bottles and oversized packs of toilet tissue would be my only complaint. Not an issue for families but when a single person in a one bedroom apartment usually won't have storage for 80 rolls of toilet tissue.

The parking lot was designed with narrow spots, so it's a good place to accumulate dings in your car - quickly sometimes. If it wasn't for the fact of its central mountain location, and you need to visit more than one of the stores there, I would avoid it.

I have to give 5 stars cause I pretty much love here. Haha. No it is a good place though considering Dollorama, shoppers, bulk barn, and Walmart are all in one place! Check out this awesome little store called the Olive Branch** inside the old mall section. Grab a sub for lunch! Get a coffee from Tim hortons. One of my fav places to spend a few hours out on a Saturday or Sunday. :) Olive branch is an amazing little gift shop. Every one always says "where did you get that".... the Olive branch is usually the answer!

I go to Wal-Mart here once a week...I like most of the stores in this center but they are so far apart now that I end up not going to the rest of the stores because of it. It is really busy with cars and they are oftwn careless. Be very careful when walking (even driving from one store to the next.

It is a good idea to be there to find something you need from stores located there, like Dolorama, Payless, and some varieties store, then you can finish your visit with some food from several restaurants there, or drinks from Tim Hortons. It is a good idea, especially in the winter time.

I enjoy this Walmart. It's not a very large one but it's also not one of the really tiny ones that doesnt even have foods. It's always really clean. I've never had any issues returning items. I can usually find exactly what I'm looking for The only department that I have a hard time finding my specific items is in the makeup section. They're always out of my specific foundation or powder cover ups and on a few occasions out of my color eyeliner. But other than that specific department; I can always find exactly what I'm looking for????

People were socially distancing and everyone was wearing face masks. Today I didn't have to wait long in those long lines. The cashier was very nice for a change and she actually made eye contact .

Michael's was fast and easy today. Went right in and found what I needed. Cashier was pleasant and cleaned between customers.(interac machine and such) Masks are mandatory but that's fine.

Parking is very bad here. They made the spaces smaller to accomodate more cars however that results in people damaging other cars when getting out of theirs. Selection at this smart centre isn't the best but has the essentials like Walmart, Dollarama, shoppers etc..

This Wal-Mart is horrible. Constantly under stocked. To the point where an item may not be on the shelf for over a week. Try to buy baby formula on cheque day? Impossible, every month they run out on the 20th. Seems like they finally get some on the 1st, but of course the mass majority of this stores shoppers are welfare. So you better get everything before they get in there or you will be waiting a week minimum.

Went to Walmart but they didn't have the cat food I needed are often out of what I use plus Campbell's tomato soup was on special for $0.57 and there wasn't even one can so was disappointing this time

Love Wal Mart. This location is not the best in the city, but definitely one of the better ones throughout the city. Well laid out and organized, easily accessible washroom amenities and customer service help. Store associates fairly easy to come across if you need assistance. Many self scan price check stations scattered throughout the store to make unlabeled items easily priced. Some of the sections, for example the pet section, are really quite lacking for what you would expect a wal mart to carry, but definitely makes up for what it lacks with layout and availability of the items and well padded sections. Great fresh & boxed/canned grocery section. Very helpful and friendly staff for the most part. Wish the self checkout lanes accepted cash, but the express lane checkouts are quick and well organized to work through a long line. Overall great experience there, but could improve a bit to match what the Ancaster Wal Mart Supercentre and the Centennial Parkway Wal Mart Supercentre offer!
