We've got the feddbacks of real people who are using the services and products of Eastgate Square (Mall) in Hamilton (Canada).
As of day this business receives a score of 4.1 out of 5 and that score is based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that it reaches an reviews average is very good, and it is founded on a very high number of scores, so we may be pretty sure that the assessment is very reliable. If many people have bothered to give their opinion when they've done well, it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to write reviews when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Mall corresponds to the category of Shopping mall.
Great Santa display. Friendly picture experience.
As someone who has worked there for years, I can say that it's a terrible mall with not so great management. I love a lot of the employees that work within the mall and miss them greatly but the mall itself my own experiences, I's not a good place to work.
Nice little mall. Small food court, decent selection of shops. Edit:. We did some shopping here over the Christmas season, and they have a lovely Santa Claus photo set up as well as a gift wrapping station, that were literally EMPTY each time we were there. Santa looked so bored! So if you're looking for a place to take your kids for Christmas photos next year, try Eastgate Square!
Love hitting this place
Small mall with a Metro grocery store. Tim Horton's, Shoppers Drug Mart and Dollarama also located here. Outside has the LCBO and Beer Store.
Have always liked eastgate however recently had a bad asthma attack due to the hand sanitizer that they MANDATORILY want us to use, had a perfumed base. Not good. Ask before using or carry your own and use it in front of the security as to prove you did. Good luck.
It’s a decent mall, keeps you out of the weather mostly. New stores moving in and some older ones leaving. Overall a good variety to choose from
Major shopping mall with a wide array of retailers. Sadly there are now empty spaces brought on by covid shutdown.
Convenient hours. Good parking space.
This will be my 8 year old daughter's interpretation of her experience. " its big and spacious, lots of food variety.
Everything is closed Waste of time
Still fearing the "covid"
one of the best place in hamilton
Meh, it's a mall. Could do with fewer of those in our world.
Decent variety of stores to meet most needs. Wish they’d get a bath and body works - I’d never need to go anywhere else for anything :)
Truly an excellent place to spend with family and friends during the high season is a good alternative to healthy recreation and excellent service highly recommended
Good
Great place to stop if your passing through. Has all sorts of shopping.
This mall is nice and clean . This mall is slowly being updated and then when its completed it will be a Beautiful mall with loads of customers ,especially when Hamilton gets the LRT built.
It's ok if you like malls .
I loved this place.
Former premier shopping center in Hamilton. Lots of stores and shops. More commercial store fronts. Eaton's used to be the major anchor store until they closed.
First visit to East gate I years. Okay, malls today send greatly supported by the cell industry. Mall is nice enough. Very clean. Food court nice and bright. I guess I do almost everything on line.
Open bright mall fun to walk around in. Good food choices in food court. Asian ones my favourite. Staff friendly and helpful.
Couldn't get in. They only allow in via food court . Was trying to go to thai express which said they close at 9. Maybe they are gone cause their phone number tried to sell insurance
Awesome. Bro.
Great selection of stores,.nice food court, clean bathrooms. Love that this mall also has Fortinos, LCBO and a winner's.
The Winners and Dollarama are great additions to the mall. Parking is always available. Just doesn't have all the stores I frequent but good if you need one or two specific things.
To all of your staff stay strong ????we all love you
Nice mall that is clean and well organized. There needs to be more stores.
I went to treat secrets for correction. And I'm very happy I went back. And I will be going there every month and I bought some really nice smelling shampoo and conditioner. And I want to thank them they are amazing
Lots of great stores with great prices ????
It's just a regular gate, not even really square to be honest
Much better since the renovated, still need better stores but convenient in a pinch
It’s a great mall, the main stores you would need are here and there is also a food court.
Needs more stores
Always a good place to shop plus there is a large bus transfer point on the corner of Queenston and Centennial.
Don't have enough positive feedback to give about this mall. It's walkable, the store selection is really great - everything from a full food court and Shoppers, to Fortinos, Dollarama, clothing stores, Spencer's. One store that isn't as common in this area is Kitchen Stuff Plus. Really neat stuff and decent prices. The washrooms are clean, would be awesome if they acknowledge that having a washroom near the Fortinos end would also help the businesses down there by increasing foot traffic.
It’s an ok mall , does not have a variety of stores, I only go there for the post office at shoppers drug mart
Small shops closing down. Sad to see
Nothing open because of the plague outbreak :(
Like shopping at small indoor malls.
Having trouble locating the Eatons store, signage in the mall lacking....... Shouldn't be this hard to find!
Nice place bit confusing at times to walk around.
Not what it used to be.. Many closed down shops
Never crowded. Everyone is respectful of keeping their distance
One of the few enclosed malls left. Los of stores, lots of parking and very accessible.
Could be better
Nice and clean. Great place to have a meal in the food court. Lots of nice stores.
Clean vibrant courteous staff and atmosphere ????
Not bad not real lot prople in mall no big store
Decent place if you're looking for generic fast-fashion brands, a cell phone store, or a restaurant; you won't find much else here. It's a pretty cookie cutter facility, though it does have the benefit of being easily walkable and lends itself well to browsing. Huge parking facilities and it's always pretty clean, but don't expect to find anything that'll really wow you.
Just security walking behind your back nothing else is good.
It's still going and has survived Covid so far. Cleaner than ever and good staff everywhere. Support your local business now!
Not bad, they should improve the nursing room it feels like a grave????
Food court's not worth eating at any more security guard officer doofy constantly bothering you while you're eating
With the new improvements, the mall has received a much needed face lift. Still a very community based mall with all of your usual faces. Lots of unique stores that aren't at your typical mall.
Top tier name brand grocery store. I like the selection of products and being able to see what I am buying freshly in front of me. That is worth the 10% more that I might spend as to going to a discount grocery store.
Liberty tax and shoppers drug Mart convenient for shopping
I come here a lot, great place to chill with friends if we don't include covid has a lot of variety for stores it may be missing a few more tech stores I think
East-gate Square has to be the most complete and exciting mall, you can find everything here.
The sunset grill is almost unbelievably quick, despite being so filled. It was great
It probably one of the best mall in Hamilton, Mall was very nice and clean, just hope they will have more store in the mall but other than that I really like this mall and the way everything sanitizing and very secure.
It's close to home. But lot of stores are closing within the mall
Awesome shops and stores. Plus, a great selection of food at the food court. Also tons of outdoor parking with both wheelchair and maternity spots in abundance.
Not a flashy mall but it is cozy and has some nice retailers. New management group has brought improvements and renovations. Very lovely!
It's a nice mall. Lots of good stores.
Overpriced food court. Very clean place
Absolutely love this mall!! It’s close to home. It has everything you need. Every store in the mall that I’ve encountered has been very kind and has what I’m looking for.
Love Eastgate mall lots of stores n food places to eat at and Tim Hortons is in the mall
Was able to get everything I needed. Miss big box stores thiugh
Honestly this place needs some better stores I miss when the Walmart was here. I don't frequent here very often.
I wish they had more popular shops many are at lime ridge and that’s on the opposite side of the city. The mall could benefit from having an old navy or even a bath and body works
This place has come a long ways since it opened. Amazing variety of stores and good place to get all your holiday shopping done.
Thanks for your admiration and admiration
Needs some updating, anchor store on other end
Nice, clean, fresh food, every thing is there you are looking for. Nice place to shop with comfort and ease. Bus terminal has made it very accessible.
Starting to suck again. This used to be the go to mall that people went to when they wanted anything... I used to go here with my grandmother when I was a little boy. It had an awesome arcade. Now it’s all stores that don’t last and the usual culprits. Most times the food court is packed with old people playing scratch tickets lol. Food court used to be better too. Oh well. At least we still have centre mall.... oh wait.
As far as malls go during covid , This one is no different than any other . But at least its open
A+
Nice to walk around the mall and buy something again.
I came here recently and it feels like an up-and-coming mall. it has nice high end stores but then you see offices. the food court takes up a substantial amount of the mall but it has really nice places to eat. . I recommend if you know what store you're looking for
I don't like this mall. The food court is not inviting. Lots of walking to get around. Definitely not my place of choice.
Came here for the source the workers name was Matthew and he had excellent product knowledge for the project I was working on and we built it as a team. Very impressive. The next time you need help at the source, ask for Matthew to help you.
I'm surprised this mall is still in business. The only good part about it is the ardene, urban planet, bluenotes and winners. The rest of the stores are either closed or just small middle eastern businesses. It used to be so good as a kid and now its almost fully closed.
It's really Nice Place For All For Stoney Creek and Barton Street Residents, Simply Amazing Prices. At This Moment Most of the Stores are Giving Good Discounts. Have All the Brands With Comparison To Other Shopping Complexs but with Good Discounts.
Its your lower quality average mall. Some what nostalgic as this is what all malls use to be like in the 80's and 90's. Your average favourite stores. Not too big, not too small. Lots of "mall walkers". With the Walmart and now Sears gone could really use a big retailer.
So many of the stores have closed due to Covid. Not as much variety as their used to be, have to enter Shoppers from exterior, cannot use mall entrance. Currently stores do not follow mall hours, some close prior to mall close which is very frustrating.
They were amazing. I took my time, and I mean, I really took my time to choose the right pair and they did not make me feel like I'm bugging them or that they have to sanitize 50 pairs of glasses...
Ah, the good 'ole days.
This mall on a whole is really improving over the years. I went into the mall for the first time since Sears closed thinking there would be nothing going for it and was ones pleasantly surprised to see some popular stores that had opened up. This really saves me from heading to another mall because there is such a variety of stores now. Lots of parking and a great food court and accessibility to everything.
Great place to shop. Spacious and bright single floor indoor plaza. From Dollar Store to trendy boutiques to Fortino's... something for everyone. Found an awesome pair of jeans at Urban Planet ????
Everything but a few restaurants in the food court still closed but on a very hot day a cool place to grab a break from the heat.
Its your basic mall. Great choice s in the food court and the bathrooms are always clean.
A very small mall. Once they close, they are super quick at closing their doors. There are a lot of no name and unheard of stores. Food court is tiny, but all the restaurants are very well known. Doesn't take long to walk the mall, nothing really stood out.
Good food court
CAA. Beer store. LCBO. Indoor mall. Grocery. Lots of parking. Close to highway. Walmart near by. Restaurants. Car dealers. Other stores. Busy area with lots of traffic. Lots of buses. Recommend.
As I was walking through the main doors, right outside, 2 to 3 feet away from the doors, visibly under age kids were smoking weed and the smell coming into the mall. I was able to see families with small children making faces as they were going through this area. I believe this is the responsibility of the mall management team to ensure smoking policies are established and enforce to ensure a safe and pleasant experience for all when shopping, eating etc at this location.
This mall is so fun
Always busy but its good for what it has
This is a conveniently located, bright, busy, though relatively small mall, with a great selection of shops. So I always enjoy visiting, whether I really need to shop or end up just browsing.
It was my first time coming here. We were looking for specific dresses and the first store did not have what we needed. We walked further in and we walked towards "Fashions Factory Direct". The gentlemen who worked there greeted us warmly. There were so many dresses to choose from but, we needed something specific. Hamid is so very kind and knowledgeable. He helped me to dress all of my daughters and he knew exactly what was needed. The prices are reasonable and the merchandise is absolutely beautiful. Hamid is the best. Thank you, Hamid for all of your help that day. I would highly recommend coming here. I will be back.
I get everything.
Half mall. Empty. Store close up gone. Shame
Co Shopping mall lots of fun stores always items on sale just got to look everyone Is so friendly Including the welcome Centre nice little restaurant area with sitting to enjoy lunch or whatever. There's also a Tim hortons for those Tim lovers! Recommend to go for a visit, and who knows perhaps you will leave with amazing stuff and be happy you went.
Confusing place
A fairly good commiunty mall in Stoney Creek. A very popular mall among the older people in the community as well. Sadly the mall upon visit didn't have much interesting stores aside from SportChek and Winners, and there were groups of older people sitting in the food court drinking Timmies, but let them be I guess... 4/5
It's a mall. All the stores you may want.
During covid19 food court is open but militant overwatch of your time to sit which is set at 20 min per table.
Foot Locker, Fortinos, Shoppers. Great mall.
It's a mall you go too if you want to pass time or check for something specific. Nothing too special about this mall minus a few stores. It's those couple of stores that have me going back. Home Sense....Eclipse....Suzy Sheir. Otherwise go to Limeridge Mall. It's much better.
Found everything I needed no complaints...
Eastgate is such a good place to go but honestly when I recently went back there so the added a Foot Locker and got rid of EB Games for GameStop I didn't really like going into the GameStop it just didn't feel the same as EBgames
Great mall wouldn't have it any other way
I enjoyed shopping here. I was able to buy new outfits at fairweather for good prices!
Small scale shoping mall in stoney creek and east Hamilton. Favorate place to elderly community.
Aging mall with limited stores if you want the staple shopping ie sports, winners with various food and beverage options this place is ideal but if your looking for more of a Selection and a bit of adventure then maple view mall in Burlington would be more suited.
Parking lot is always packed and busy on 3 sides. Pedestrians just walk across without looking like a cattle crossing.
Kindof disappointed. It had none of the things I went to the mall for. No men's clothing stores except Moore's, and I was seeking more casual fashion. It seems like a spot for electronics and cellphone stores. No department store, no jeans stores...all the things I used to go to a mall for, are gone. I understand that retail has changed, but surely some retail places need physical locations? I did buy luggage though, and the information desk was efficient about telling me how my quest for various items would be fruitless there.
Good place for shopping
Eastgate square has lost so much of its business and feels very run down. The location doesn't serve people as well as it used to and the shops it does contain have very little browsability and it's hard to stay in the mall for longer than an hour.
Its meh. Not a huge variety of stores to choose from. Basic little mall.
Decent mall with the usual stores like Shoppers Drug Mart, Dollarama, Winners etc; not really anything unique that cant be found anywhere else though. Good place for holiday shopping if you have a range of people to buy for like I do and don't really like the huge malls (talking about you, Limeridge!) Theres also a Fortinos for grocery stuff and the food court is pretty good. One nice thing is the washrooms! I dont think I've ever seen them anything but sparkling clean...which I wish I could say about a certain mall downtown. All in all, a good place to get what you need or just wander for a bit.
July 29/2020 mall is now open.. Must wear a mask.. Be prepared!!
Nice Place you can find every things you want, I really appreciate that.
Nice mall
Winners is only good store they have
Just an ok mall overall. Don't expect anything fancy as this is a small mall.
Nice mall and pretty nice workers. A few of the other people shopping were dirty looking me when my son cried over not being aloud to get a toy as if it were bothering them. People just need to realize there are children in the world and they do need to be able to go shopping....
Eastgate has some good adorable stores and it's nice to shop around. There isn't a starbucks which is disappointing.
Eastgate has some good stores and has attempted to keep customer safe during covid (although most don't follow signed postage). Can't speak to whether it's as ridiculously busy as Mapleview or Limeridge though, as I've only been there on weekdays when its relatively quiet.
I usually often Homesense or Winners in this mall. They have pretty good collection. The mall is clean and COVID protocols are in place. The security ensures people adhere to the protocols.
Great variation of stores and services. Food court has great selection of food. Never too busy so its an ideal place to get some shopping done
Nice mall, big enough to find what you would normally look for in a mall. At the same time, it's not very busy either. Not like limeridge. Not annoying like Jackson and rundown, I say annoying for all the weirdos harassing me and my daughter outside at the doors for money or to preach to us about something that makes no sense lol ????
nice there
A great place to shop
Great mall love the Tim Horton's in the middle where you can sit and have coffee...
Sorry to hear they're closing ???? Always had a good vibe shopping there.
Lots of room to move around!
Can get a lot of shopping done without having to go to different places!! You can literally kill 2 birds with 1 stone!!
I went in there after work at around 7:30 am. Hardly anyone in there. I got a few things. I go to check out and there is 1 cashier. There was lady there with a full cart. I left my basket on the belt next to cashier and walked out. I didn't have my bank card with me to use self check-out. I left.
Good, but not allowing low income families not to take pictures of their children sitting on Santa's lap is wrong. The mall should be offering single photos instead of only offering packages.
ordered a western sandwich yesterday (June 17/19) and it was the most disgusting excuse for a western I've ever seen. Could not eat it. It looked like the bottom of the frying pan when the egg is burnt!!! The other person with me ordered a western omelette and his was perfectly done. Don't think I wish to repeat the experience. Gave it one star because I had no option. NO STAR from me!
Nice cool place to walk not very many stores I would go into. Decent food court and Tim Hortons
Lots of closed stores????
It's a mall. I go when I need to lol it's now in red so no tables to sit n you must take things and leave.
place is in need of a revamp, pretty much just a food court that has a shoppers drug mart in it and sells other stuff
Nice mall, clean and well-maintained, good assortment of stores, plenty of parking.
Nice mall with lots of shops that satisfy your shopping needs.
The mall is what it is. Lots of stores shutting down, entrances on one half of the building locked Was ultra disappointed to see the accessible washroom locked. A lady in a wheelchair was in there panicking when I went in. How terrible
A quaint mall with a decent amount of different stores to shop at. Security guards walking around which made me feel safe. Most employees are friendly and helpful.
Has everything anyone would ever need, and then some. It's a great place for people to hangout, and has everything that's new and hot on the market right now. It even has a Lenscrafters inside, and those guys are great!! Eastgate Square is the best!
I enjoy this mall and friendly people running the stores they really care about their customers.
This mall still has a lot to offer and is an enjoyable experience. Just the right size and variety of stores, I hope this place never closes.
A lot of good options for food
Flea Market Haven! Oh wow! This “mall” certainly has its days numbered! Uncomfortable shopping experience post-Covid for sure! Stores set their own hours all over the place, and then close before their set time? Flea Market. Reward yourself better - take a trip up the roadway to Limeridge Mall! My wife and I give Eastgate Square a year at most. Sad! The two star is only for the shops actually trying....
Clean well kept mall. Food court was busy but lines moved fast. Stores were all ready for the holidays good sales on.
It has pretty much everything you need in a mall except for a cinema
The malls good but it’s elevator can be a safety hazard considering the fact that the buildings old
The renovations have made the mall feel less dingy. Hopefully the space where Sears was brings in some new stores to make the mall more interesting, as the variety of stores are limited.
There are better malls out there, but if you need something quick, eastgate mall is fantastic
Nice clean mall.lots of stores
Missing the Sears store but there is no shortage of vendors. Pretty much everything you need from clothing to electronics it's all there.
Good
Nothing left after covid
Very nice mall, they have been updating it and keeping on top of the Covid rules.
Very cute mall
Homesense there is the best.
Nice Mall looks good after the remodel But still missing that pizzazz.
Mall very good. For me this is the best mall in neighborhood. I'm from Brazil and I usually came to this region for business. I love the Earls restaurant. Food is very nice taste, good options, nice bar. Anyway, this mall have all storage that one foreign need to find together, as Apple, H&M, Zara, Gap and so on. There is a huge park lot. Easy to arrive.
Not bad
As someone who works near Eastgate Square I can say I have certainly seen a lot of improvement over the years. There’s nothing truly unique about it and there’s a few stores that feel like they don’t really belong in a “high end” mall, but it’s fine. A few standouts are; Laura Secord, Conspiracy Comics and the newly renovated Fortinos. With a few additions, I’d probably drop by more often.
Not good anymore.
Went to virgin mobile they wouldn't talk to me a just wanted to ask a guestion
Nice, spacious, very few security issues. I'm still a bit salty they lost their Wal Mart a few years ago so I don't go there as often but such is life. Cleanest restrooms if any Hamilton malls I've been to so I'll give them that, the cleaners work really hard.
The best mall in the world Mike
Not enough GOOD stores, and everything is too spread out since the mall is now half empty. Be prepared to walk!
Good stores, clean food court, good variety of food.
Nice old fashioned mall with all stores connected under one roof. Perfect for shopping and walking in all types of weather. Some places, like Sunset Grill, can only be accessed from outside.
Comfortable environment, quick and easy shopping and simple to navigate.
Eastgate Square was where I waited for the bus that took me to my final destination. I have never had any issues here. The bus stops close by have chairs, so I don’t stay in the cold.
Could use more stores very clean easy to get around in
This mall has not alot to go through if it wasn't for the fact that winners and home sense are there this place would be a ghost town
Pretty sparce these days but still a good food court and still a pleasant place to walk.
Eastgate is open inside shopping ????️???? please call the local covt19 guidelines
KEEPING IT ???? stay frosty
I didn't go to shop. My daughter and I dropped off new unwrapped books for the Christmas toy drive. Overall the mall has great stores too choose from
Top notch mall I go to the Fortino's there often
Ok mall
Not a bad mall but it still has a footlocker an a decent food court
It's an old mall but still has good character. I'm glad it still standing and that they hadn't turned it into an outdoor mall like they did with center mall.
Good olace but very crowdy
I like this mall , it’s clean & nice. Since Covid many things have closed up . Hopefully soon it will pick up & there will be new stores coming in to fill the empty spaces.
Always enjoy a trip to the mall. And even better when I get to see the most beautiful woman in the world at winners, (my girlfriend)
a lot of the good stores are gone now. it's surprisingly busy regardless though
East gate is really nice and convenient mall for everybody. You can easily spend a day here.
smells really bad there
Love the mall it's not massive but carries a good variety of stores. Never had an issue there and staff of the various outlets work hard. Lots of parking which is awesome. Would love to see something replace the Sears.
A walkthrough to get to my cooffee at Fortinos
Its a good place to shop. Its not as good as Lime Ridge but you don't have to change busses (If you live near Main St/McMaster) to go here as compared to Lime Ridge. Several shopping and food items are available here.
Very spaced out mall. Much better than some malls in Ontario. Gives me a very relaxed feeling.
Mall is in need of large department store. Sears is gone but someone like The Bay would be nice to see in there. For the most part, you can find some great shops in there, but the mall needs to bring in some more higher end clothing stores and gift shops. Great for basic needs though.
Small but good place location for daily stuffs
Orthoworld is a great place to shop
This place has so many different stores that can benefit all ages.
Shopping with my daughter, great deals we found that say , she was very happy
Visited for one reason, my mobile phone Representative was working at this location on this day. Exceptional customer service as always, Andrew has graduated from Medical School and no longer is employed by the company. The overall impression of Mall was unkempt, dirty, noisy, very rude and unruly patrons. We have and never will return.
Even though this mall is greatly located between Greater Hamilton Area and Stoney Creek and despite there is a good variety of retail stores, this mall looks a little bit rundown. It has lost it sense of "trendness" and definitely needs a revamp. The mall has it all: parking, bus station, good stores, but the "it" part is lost. This review is for the administrators: time for a change and you'll increase your revenues!!!!
first time here in years
Okeish place, doesn't have enough brand stores but neat and clean!
Small mall... has good variety of stores. The food court is small but has some decent places to eat. There are also many other food places and stores nearby.
Even though the Rogers store there could not help us, as they didn't have what we wanted in stock for my elderly 92 yr old mother in law, we never the less were able to hobble through the mall stopping every 100 feet for her to sit and rest. She refused to let me get her transport chair out of our van for her to use. However we were grateful that there were many places to sit and rest along the way.
Clean and quiet and during this pandemic has been following excellent protocol I find it is very well kept and people are mindful of others and there is regulatory thinking in mind . Stores are meh the mall needs a spice up.but that's just glitz and glam hopefulness for the future I.supposed
The Fortinos was amazing. Especially the bulk department.
It was ok busy place
Went to Beer store. Went well.
This mall used to be really good but as of late it's been going downhill. Most of the mall seems to be empty stores. All of the stores that I enjoyed are no longer there and it's pretty much just a handful of decent stores now. I wish it could be as great as it used to be.
Great shopping center. Lots of places to shop and choose from. Kind of bummed that they removed the Tim's from the newer part. Besides that, it's clean, well lit and east to navigate.
Large shopping mall have all type of shops available
One of the few malls not a super center...
i like it alot but me and my mom dont like crowds. I normally go to the book store and clairs but coles never seems to have the books i want though they have others from the same seris. Clairs it ok but hard to find stuff that will fit me when they have the holiday clothing or when they have slippers. Waches are a good price but somthing should be donw with the old sears. Maybe a pace for parents to leave their kids or like a place for people to hang out maybe like a large cafe or even a small movie theater or toy store since the closest one is the toys r us down by walmart
Decent mall for the area
Small nad pleasant lots of deals all the time
A little bit okay but not that much satisfying compare to limeridge and square one malls.
Great mall,. As malls go there was a lot of great shops !
I honestly cant believe this mall is still open seems like a waste of money to me. 1 or 2 good stores maybe
Less places
Still closed except for food, Jimmy The Great I call it lol, Great food as always !
This mall is becoming like a ghost mall. Very quiet with hardly any shoppers. No wandering around anymore as they have all the seats roped off so if you're a senior or can only walk a little bit and need to sit down periodically, then you're out of luck. The entrance to Shoppers drug mart is closed in the mall, so wont be going there anymore (dont want to park twice). Fortinos still has too many barriers - I dont see the need anymore to be herded to a cash register by someone yelling "number 4" with a finger pointing while everything is roped off. Whatever you do dont try to cut through to use the washroom! Kudos to stores like Winners and Dollarama where they leave it to the customers discretion on how to shop. People get it now, we know the rules! So now if I have to get anything at Eastgate I just park where I can just pop in and out - usually at the Winners entrance. The added irritation is that the mall closes at 7 every day thru the week. I dont know how the businesses can make any money with those hours and hardly any customers. We're in stage 3 now, so smarten up Eastgate and start opening things up.
Estate is in a great location lots of parking plus buses stop there you can do all your shopping at this mall as it has a fortinos for grocery and every other type of retail you would need
It's a mall. You only go when necessary. The bookstore and Fortino's are both good.
Its a very dated Mall that is due for some renovations/updating. Surprisingly, a number of good choices for shopping. For a Mall that is also a major transport hub for Hamilton bus service, the owners dont certaintly appreciate the potential.
Good place to shop
Been going to this mall for a long time. Alot has changed and it's unfortunate to see. Eastgate lost major retail stores and it feels really empty inside. Like walking into empty spaces majority of the time. Covid-19 Restrictions are in place and heavy security presences is a really good because alot happens in that mall. Eastgate Mall is honestly trying to stay afloat, I gotta give them credit for that.
Very nice mall. Not the biggest. But very well represented with a good variety of stores.
Lots of real good shopping ....very close to other shopping stores very close together
Been going there for years. Love the atmosphere.
Nice mall more new stores opened now .
I enjoy coming here it's less chaotic than some of the other bigger malls
Poor Eastgate Square....I was there opening day. Long ago. The crowds! One by one the 'anchors' left, went under. Now, even LaSenza left, there were so few customers. Vacancy rate is? 40%? Good thing there's still a Fortinos. They killed the LRT Terminal. And the rest of the mall.
A good small mall that has a lot to offer! Winners, Homesense, Kitchen Stuff Plus, Fortino's and much more!
It's ok, just went here to grab food with friends. Lots of people inside with no masks, no enforcement that we seen. The bathroom covid protocols on point though, every other area is taped off in an effort to maintain distance with strangers. Lots of parking available.
Great assortment of stores. Food Court and washrooms clean! Customer service welcoming and helpful. Security presence for safety. Well kept mall. Lots of choices, Fortions, winners, Shoppers Drug Mart, beer store, Lcbo, Dollarama and Kitchen Stuff plus... too many stores to mention! lots of clothing options for everyone from casual to formal from infant to 110. Best place to shop for jewelry as there are a few stores to price compare. Loads of parking, Truly ONE stop shop for all your needs.
Need better stores but still has a few good ones
Clean mall, decent food court. Not a lot of stores that I have any interest in.
Clean washroom busy with teens who didn't know how to socially distance themselves or from other people.
It's quite and hardly ever overwhelming with hundreds of people, even before all this.
Was not conducive to people who have a hard time walking around as they put no thought when they took out rest stops. Unless you bring a walker don't go.
Nice place, it is a shopping mall many services, nice varities
Not social distancing.....
It's a Mall. It's not the best mall, but parking is good and the selection of stores is excellent. People are friendly largely, and it is generally easy to navigate. The traffic getting to Eastgate is better than some other shopping experiences in the city. While it's an older shopping mall, the important parts are in good shape.
It's a very well stock store I love walking around that store Many Many Lowe's stores in there
Good for a small mall. Would love to see some new bigger stores (old Navy!!!) But overall it's a great little mall.
Quite nice place for a small town. Has good brands.
No sephora no bay feels like empty and missing something for me please make sure Sephora should be there in every single mall
Really need to have a few rest areas open. Mall is too wide spread for elderly to be able to get around without being able to rest
Conveniently located
Find what you need easily. Shoes, food, toys, clothes, you name it!
Has some clothing stores, shoe stores, a game store, lots of phone providers, cellphone accessory and repair shops, a couple jewelry places, and a food court. Save your self some time and go to Limeridge if you can, it provides the same as well as more stores/options. This mall has slowly been dying even before the pandemic hit, feels like a store or two shuts down in there every time I visit. We'll see if they can pull it back together after the pandemic settles down but I doubt it.
New walking paths. Had to double back several times. Being a senior I couldn't get to all the stores I wanted to.
Not crowded at all easy to get around.
Nice homey mall experience. Not too big, just right. Hope the stores there survive!
clean & very good management in mall I love to shop in eastgate square mall
Nice mall, one floor and not too big
Despite the best efforts of Cadillac Fairview to homogenize everything they own, this mall still retains the community feel that's been lost in so many other places. It's always a treat to come down here, shop and just enjoy being here..
Eastgate is one of the locations I regularly like to shop. With stores ranging from haircuts to jewellery, it can easily be a one stop shopping trip and that's not even mentioning fortinos, dollarama, the dentist's and optometrist located here. If possible, I recommend shopping here for the easy access and affordable stores.
This is a vety nice clean shopping mall. It has a variety of stores. I like that the food court is located right at the entrance of the mall so you don't have to look for it. It has a variety of food and there is enough space to sit even at busier times. Sometimes the lineup for Tim Horton is long but they are pretty quick.
I basically got tricked into coming here. No complaints
nice enclosed mall. Bit small. Fairly clean.
Used to be really good mall once but on my last visit felt bad for business owners and mall
Went to see Santa. That part was fine. After words it was about 7:30pm and they had locked most of the doors. We were not allowed to exit close to our car so we had to walk around the whole mall, with toddlers, outside in the unlit parking lot. Was interesting after we reached a part with no sidewalk and no lights....
Kitchen stuff has a good deal on drinking glasses. Price and quality excellent.
Good variety of stores
It was in need of a good cleaning
Feels like a ghost town now still a decent selection of stores but the mall not like it used to be in it's heyday
Great place to hang out and shop. Has great places to get food as well
A fairly decent mall.
Only got through main door 2 guards setting waiting need have appointment go through ,nothing open only with appointments.
It's a mall.
It’s an okay mall. Has some decent stores but it could be updated to be better (stores and mall itself)
Great place
If u like people smoking by the entrances, foreign old men loitering around the seating areas occupying space speaking their mother tongue, then this mall is great for you. 2 Tim hortons inside, no Starbucks. Decent assortment of stores(Dollarama, Winners, Shoppers, Children's Place, Freedom Moblie)A mid range mall otherwise.
Never my favorite mall. With lots of walking they've taken out any seat. I understand social distancing but come on.
Very clean Stocked well Always a pleasant experience Conveniently located in a mall with several stores I regularly visit
To many of the same stores. Cell phones and more cell phones.
Loved this store! Exceptional service from Caleb with some assistance here and there from his colleagues. Highly recommend...
I always forget how amazing this mall is until I get there. Its undergone a bit of updating and it pretty much offers everything you could need in a mall and a few interesting extras.
I am glad we still have traditional malls. It just needs more in it. Not all young peoples clothes. More variery needed
Great mix of stores. Has a Winners and HomeSense, Sears, recently got David's Tea! Not too big but not a maze like the bigger malls. Decent food court recently renovated.
Ideal for one stop shopping. You get everything under one roof in best prices.
When I went into Eastgate mall. You're asking me was it busy no it was not busy because the stories were still closed at the time
Glad some things are still open here..like Krystal Vision And Real fruit Bubble Tea. Awesome!!!
Good selection, set up well for shopping
It's a decent place to shop around and you get right things as per need
Lots of stores to choose from. A bit out of the way for someone bussing in from out of the area. A lot of these stores are at Center Mall.
Nothing much to say, i have not been in the mall for over a year, now complain
great for parking, all lines were in sync
This is a really great grocery store. It is very large. The best part are the many fast food counters. The this is a good place to have a meal or snack.
Love my kitchen stuff plus
Never too busy. Clean spacious hallways. Nice people here
Great old mall everything you need
Very accommodating! In a very hurried state, using google map for Acton. Stopped in for a power cord for my phone. They directed me to the Dollarama Store. In and out on no time at all. Very impressed with the staff at the store AND the security staff. I will retutmrn ti THIS MALL TO SHOPVWHEN I HAVE MORE TIME!!! LOVELY PEOPLE! ♡♡♡
Liked the store called Eclipse. Had a great shopping experience and also at Le Chateau. The whole mall is clean. Wish there were more food options though.
I love east gate !!
Nothing really interesting in the mall. There's also two Tim Hortons which is confusing. There could definitely be better stores, as for it appears the target audience is older people.
Because, every time the place is closer to people who like going there to shopping,.?
God bless them they're trying. The mall is largely empty of people. There's more security guards than customers. At least they make you feel safe. The security staff is friendly and professional. The signage inside the mall is a big confusing. The food court is pretty decent.
As a 31 week pregnant, double vaxed women, I was denied to use food court chair to sit. My take out order at A&W would take 2-3 mins, due to my condition I requested the security to allow me to sit for few minutes and that I will have my mask on. I did not have my mobile to show them my vaccination status. In a threatening and intimidating tone a tattooed security man told I will be fined, if I go and sit on chair (even on the empty table). 3 security people ganged up and they kept staring at me and talking to themselves, remorseless! I find it very egregious on part of the Mall management and security to deny me a place to sit. Personally, I felt the mall management and security to be more detrimental than the actual COVID virus. Avoid this mall!
Really sad mall .. employees even look depressed...bathrooms are never clean, stores are always shutting down and the selection of stores really sucks. The only stores worthwhile are winners and sportchek. Not sure why they haven't used the space where Sears used to be
Just watch out for yourself in these trying times. Staff does their best in the stores, but count onnyourself
Nice and cool in the mall lots of space to walk for distancing. Fortinos grocery store very Nice but very exspensive. Lots of stores open in the mall. Lineup at beer store. Thats about it.
Nice clean mall, lots of parking. Unfortunately, approximately a quarter of the stores are empty with not a lot of options for shopping. Kitchen Stuff Plus is a great store for all your kitchen toys though.
Got to play the game with some of the stores .. least if your wanted by PoPo.. the mask hides your face
Safe place for me to go with my grandson because I can get a wheelchair. My grandson is welcomed in all the stores. We love to go to Laura Secord for ice cream and to Fortionos for a noodle bowl for me and a cookie for him.
This mall only has 1 washroom for each gender (many compartments inside a washroom) and it is located at the foodcourt. Imagine if you are an elderly or someone with reactive bladder and go in from the winners entrance and have to walk through the WHOLE MALL to get to the washroom. It’s just great.
This mall is local for me. It has most of the basics that large malls have. It has a variety of stores. Unfortunately in these COVID times some stores have closed up. It doesn't have the huge crowds of people like other malls. The mall and washrooms are always clean.
Bought my winter coat here.great price..saved almost 300:00 .
To access either cibc bank or fortinos, you literally have to go around the mall to get there. Really annoying, especially since it's cold. What happens if a heavy snowstorm hits? How would the seniors access the grocery store? Or check their bank if they're with cibc? Because of this, I'm not shopping here until they get their act together.
Easily accessible from all of Stoney Creek and East Hamilton. Decent food court, good selection of stores, never overcrowded. Prices reasonable, unlike some malls. A bit smaller than most malls, but not tiny.
Like every other mall it is starting to have a lot of empty space. Only has a couple of stores that I use.
Good variety of stores. Was able to do all my fall shopping
Although you now need to make an appointment to do whatever it is you want to do... Those great looking girls from Garda really tried to help me get what I needed even though they didn't have to. Above and beyond ladies, great job! Too bad not everyone would try this hard for complete strangers. You both should get a raise our promotion or something!!
Grew up in the area of this mall and boy has it changed alot. I mean it has become so much better now and they have some good stores here.
It was okay. Nothing special.
Miss shopping like before covid
Easy shopping at this mall. Wide walkways. Kept clean. Entrance areas well lit. Step activated sliding doors are nice when hands are full. Ample parking. Many cellphone businesses are located here. Foodcourt provides variety of eats.
Went to the Halloween store. Good place
Eastgate square has really stepped up since the renovation. It has one of the best dollar stores I've been too. We enjoy going there.
Great staff but way overpriced, but that is caused by outrageous taxes.
Clean and covid safe
Was out Christmas shopping for odds and ends. Found some Great stuff.
It was a clean place and the staff where pleased to help me with my purchase.
It's a great shopping mall because it's smaller than lime ridge mall but has big stores. The mall has a very friendly feel and you can take public transportation to it.
Great place to shop. ...good size mall. ..not as big as limeridge mall but the stores are just great. ...very clean. ..many venue's to chose from to eat in the food court and even 2 well known restaurants to chose from. .entrance outside of the mall. Plenty of seating rest spots for the elderly or disabled to sit ..throughout the mall. ...lots of parking and also on a main bus route.
No issues with social distancing. Mall is quite quiet
So much has changed at Eastgate. Many stores closed before covid as the demographic in the area changed. The traffic in the mall slowed down alot when Sears closed and many of the remaining shops sell the same styles. Too many phone kiosks and far to many empty stores.
One of the few walk in malls left in the city... pretty decent variety of stores
Nice shopping center lots of varieties .
Small mall but nice place to chill
Just to finish my story on the digraceful experience I had at fortios eastgate. Ran out of time word limit and was cut off. Afer the employee wrestled and tsseled to get my cart away from me a cashier politely came to me and explained that the 2nd card hadn't gone through. So shocked at this reckless employee being allowed to attack any customer under any circumstaces. Never mind a 40yr customer. shame on you for your poor training iof this individual..,will be looking into whether my civil rights have been violated. Really there must be a better way!!!...SUPERMARKET WITH A HEART ..NOT.
As of April 12th/21 only certain things open & we needed an app't
Nearby...so go there quite often but not now during Covid.
I was shocked to notice there are several people walking around with no mask This mall has really gone down very rude and abrasive security female lots of empty stores I was afraid to enter the food court will never visit again
I actually worked at this mall years ago the mall has seen many reconstructions I am glad for the newest renovations and am hoping the future plans upgrade this mall more but with a lot of businesses going to box stores some of us still like a mall atmosphere and Eastgate offers this.
Covid measures taken didnt make me feel that safe
Wwhats the attraction to a mall withl stores u do not shop at
(All my reviews are in commemoration of my Brother, Luke Campbell, who surprised the family when we found all his detailed Google reviews after he passed away ❤) Eastgate is okay. It's a lot better since the renovation a few years ago. The food court is a great spot to people watch if you're in to that. I sometimes see my grand parents there hanging out with the locals and telling them about the bible. That's what they're into. I love the winner's and Marshall's and the Fortinos. The bathrooms scare me.
There are still a lot of good stores still remaining but a lot of empty spaces in this mall too. They have almost everything you would need in this mall but it could be better. I definitely would visit it again.
Pretty lean offerings....mostly because of the impact of COVID. Does have a winners and home sense :)
