If you read any of my reviews you will know I am a general positive reviewer pointing out good places. I felt compelled to give an honest poor review of Cdn Tire Kenora after visiting there yesterday around 430pm (Sat Aug 4). I wanted to return 2 identical metal rings. Each $4. One pack opened so i could try it. One pack unopened as purchased a few weeks ago. I had all the packaging, the unused metal ring, my bill and the Cdn Tire money. While waiting at the Customer Service Desk they had a long line of 5 US fisherman wanting to get fishing licenses. There was 1 clerk at the desk. It was taking the clerk several minutes to serve each fisherman. My wife had gone into the store to look for a curling iron. I looked around me and there was a ton of staff walking around the aisles. I asked one if I could get assistance to do the return since I didnt need a fishing license, i was told no and they walked away. When my wife came back about 15 later I had barely moved. She said there are staff walking all over the store trying to look busy. I pointed out the now huge line at the one and only cash. My wife went off to find someone who could help us. And now the biggest reason I am writing. One of the fishermen ahead of me paid his $68.50 Cdn bill with $70.00 US. The clerk gave him change of $1.50. The fisherman didnt say anything. I said to the clerk...do you not give a fair US exchange rate? The clerk said no. Local management decides there is no exchange rate. I could not believe this. The fisherman asked me what the exchange rate was. I said buddy i am very sorry but you just got ripped off at least 20%. He was shocked. I was appalled. US tourists are one of the main lifebloods of Kenora and to rip off them so you can pocket the difference is wrong. Plain wrong. When I finally got to the front of the line a new clerk scrutinized my return and my packaging and mumbled it was a mess all with a scowl. I mentioned the ring was shrink wrapped in their packaging so in order to take it out it was almost impossible to keep the packaging pristine. It was very repackagable btw. She continued to process me with plenty of negative attitude. I got my refund. I will not be shopping Cdn Tire Kenora again. I do not like the way mgmt runs the store...poor staff training/motivation, staffs key areas and rips off tourists. As i left one of the fishermen was outside and we discussed how to avoid being ripped off in the future. He was appreciative that I was representative of what he knew Canadians were really like.

Long time customer of the store, purchased a kids bike and the bearings in the pedal mechanism fell out. Bike is 3.5 months old. I didn't have my receipt and was told that they can't warranty it. I asked if they can look up the receipt in their system, I was told they couldn't. I asked if they could look it us using the rewards system, they said no. I left with the bike, instead of paying to have the bike repaired I went to wal-mart and purchased a new bike for my 5 year old. Decided to call corporate customer relations for Canadian Tire and ask the same questions and was told different answers. They said that the receipts can be looked up if I had paid debit, credit and or used rewards within 12 months which I did. Called back to the local Canadian Tire and they do some backtracking saying that it was just the individual store policy to look up the receipts or not. They then asked if I wanted the bike repaired and I said no, refund or store credit, they said no. Bike was not needed after buying a new one elsewhere. It only takes the one bad service experience to loose a customer.

Being from the States this is a great little store. We do not have the Canadian tire. The store had a great selection and everything we needed. We were on a trip North in a motor home pulling a Jeep. We were able to pick up several miscellaneous supplies that were unexpected to be found in one place. Service with a smile as well... didn't hurt.

Curbside ordering is broken. You are charged before they even check if its in stock and the you get a confirmation email that your order is ready. Travel down there to find out the main Item you went for isn't available, even though it was in stock in the app. once in a while I can understand but this has happened both visits now. But charged even though it's not available. Not bad being I live in town, but if someone is travelling a half hour on a weekly trip would be quite a waste of time.

Got my car worked on there today. This morning they said there were no appointments until the next day and then I drop it off and they say well maybe we can have a look at it turns around they looked at it and fixed it in a few hours. The problem was the horn they installed wasn't working properly and the serpentine belt came off after the alternator they put on. I was going to put the belt on myself but I noticed the air conditioning belt was still on there and it was a difficult task to remove it then put the serpentine belt on and put the AC belt back on so I took it to Canadian Tire to have them look at the horn anyway. I got a bill for a starting charging inspection of $35 and a bill for an air conditioner compressor belt for 5 0.33. I get in the car I drive at home the air conditioner don't work now and the horn still doesn't work. Not happy will change my review if tomorrow they fix everything

I asked an employee where the Garden Centre is located. I was directed to go to customer service to the front of the store. I do not know why the employee could not communicate to use the exit that was behind him. Employees should be able to assist customers in the correct direction without directing them to go to customer service for direction. On a positive note, the store is well stocked and clean. Today at 1740 I had to go to Canadian Tire to pick up new paint. I had just made it in time because they were closing at 1800. Fortunately I went to the Canadian Tire in Fort Frances, rather than to Menards since i received wonderful, prompt service and they did not even mind that i came late (lots of stores employees would give remarks showing up that close to closing time). I was helped by a very knowledgeable employee (I believe his name was Jordan, he used to work in automotive I believe) He helped me find the perfect paint and it was even on sale! 10/10 would go back again.

While travelling to the east coast, "engine service soon" light came on and this was the closest service station available. Although they had closed one tech was cleaning up and stopped what he was doing to help. (I asked if he could read the code). Out of the 4 different staff i asked a question of while there I got nothing but attitude, each of them acting like I was ruining their day asking what aisle a product could be found. Once said product was found there were so many options I needed to clarify which model was best and asked for the areas staff. When she approached she too acted like I ruined her day and her curt one word answers almost made me walk out and go to Walmart. Then I needed something from another aisle, which their website stated they had 11 of only to be told there might be one in the back, again, ruining another person's day. Considering my sale would be upwards of 600$ i was getting very ticked off how i was being treated and was about to leave when my husband noticed a bigger and better model of what we were after that still had its sale sticker from JULY 23 on it, knowing the sales laws, we ONLY made our purchase with this store because that mistake just cost THEM 300$, I feel that was a fair trade for being treated like an inconvenience by every person in the store with the exception of the cashier, who was more than a delight. She could show the rest of the staff a thing or two. I will NEVER return to this store again.

Purchased a replacement battery, for Mazda 3 2008 GT 2.3L Auto, their computers gave me the wrong battery. Advised I had to add a 2x4 piece of WOOD as the battery was too small, they blamed me stating I was wrong and the computer is correct, even showed them the original battery core was different. They advised there was nothing they could do, as the computer is correct. I have no modifications to my vehicle and they were unwilling to help me further. Forced to go there to buy small things because of the small town, and it's always a bother to get assistance, or they lie that they don't carry something, even though I just found it on there large computer in the front of the store..called them out...then they circled back and said it must be Out of Stock. Asked if I could order it, and said no.....i'm always pleasant to the cashiers even though the part people didn't know about my battery.....still bad customer service as well.

Has a decent stock of most things. If you can't find it on a shelf but the website says they got it, ask a staff member because some things are kept in the back. The staff are great! Isles are narrow so I'd only suggest a cart if necessary.

I love shopping at Canadian Tire. This location is undergoing a reno so things are a bit shuffled around. I love going through their bins and finding things I never knew I wanted. Some things that could be worked on: cashiers low enthusiasm, if they were a bit more talkative I'd feel differently. When I worked retail back the day, we had something called "celebrating the purchase" which had the cashier make a comment about something the customer was buying that made them feel like they were making the right decision to buy the product - it also got them talking. One other thing, the water refill station is so slooow.

I believe most of the good reviews on this place are from the people employed there or family and friends . I thought I left service like that in Ontario. The help simply ignored you or disappeared when you came close. Seems to just be a place for the workers to hang out. I'm afraid if it was my store and could only find employees like that I would just close it up. Don't forget I don't have to and won't shop there again. A bad day for them ? Maybe. On a good note the guys in the garage were exactly what a was expecting from the good Nova Scotia people. Don't forget lady's there could be someone like me in there everyday just to do a review.

So I select these alloy wheels for my Honda Accord and they ordered it for me. Yesterday I had my appointment to get them fit on my car. When I went at Canadian tire yesterday all of sudden they said these alloys are not fitting to your car which was ordered by them after taking all the information regarding my car. So the service department lady said you have to order new ones which will take 2 weeks and then they will have to book another appointment for me which takes forever or we have steel rims which I never wanted. Not only this the lady was not even accepting that its their mistake for not ordering the product I want , she told me this way that I am gonna save more money. In the end I had to compromise after waiting more than a month because I had no other option.

Curbside pickup has been fairly simple since the Ontario covid lockdown. Stuff is usually ready within the day but sometimes can take up to a couple days depending on if you have multiple items. Always good service though.

This store has everything you would expect at a Canadian Tire! They’re decor and seasonal items are always top quality. Don’t normally shop at Marks Work warehouse but we got some good quality compression pants. The staff at the counter was super friendly and helpful answer questions about the new triangle rewards and how I can put my paper Canadian Tire money onto it. Great store, well stocked!

Nice store, not too small or too big. Fairly complete and we'll stocked. Easy to locate and to get in and out of. This location also fills propane, including being able to fill tanks that are not remove able from big rigs. A little snug getting around the fill station if folks have parked near it but very doable. Very friendly and helpful staff as well. The one thing I wish is that they would set up a service to deliver large items, like a shed. I know we are an hour away but that kind of service means a lot to us and we would be willing to pay a reasonable fee for it. I highly recommend this store.

Absolutely horrendous store. These people are completely inept in every possible way and it's so blatantly obvious that it's laughable. I just went in to buy 5/16 inch vacuum hose to fix my van as I am a mechanic and know how to do it myself. I literally waited for 20 minutes at the part's desk and nobody was there. That being said, the garage service manager could see us waiting at the vacant part's desk and finally came over after 20 minutes to page "Trish". We waited another 10 minutes and there was still no sign of Trish or anyone to help us. The garage service manager had 6 people waiting in his line and his phone was ringing constantly... I don't blame him for not being able to serve me as his department was understaffed, as well. Finally after waiting 30 minutes my wife went to look for someone and there wasn't a single staff member working the floor in any department, so she got a cashier to page "Trish" again. After waiting another 10 minutes this older gentleman comes in from outside, stinking like cigarettes and barks at us "I'll be with you shortly". He removes his winter jacket and goes into the back for a few minutes before returning to serve us. I ask him for 10 feet of 5/16" rubber hose and it takes him 10 minutes to find it, a knife, and a tape measure. Finally, after 50 minutes, I had the rubber hose in my hand and proceeded to the cash. However, things didn't get better. The cashier couldn't read the writing of the guy who got my hose. His writing was all jittery because he just came in from smoking. I waited another 10 minutes as my cashier went to the parts desk to have him rewrite the product code on the masking tape he wrapped my hose in. Well, he wrote the number down wrong and the cashier still couldn't enter it into her computer... so she paged Trish. Yet again. After waiting another 5 minutes Trish finally arrived and located a "working product code". All is well, right? WRONG! She found a working code all right... a code for rubber hose that was 3 times more expensive that the size I bought. I got ripped off for an extra $16 after spending more than an hour in this store. Waiting. As if I was invisible to the few staff who were actually there. INSANE experience and it isn't the first time, either. Isn't Canadian Tire primarily and originally an AUTO PARTS store!? Why did it take more than an hour to be overcharged for a part that could heave been cut off the bulk roll within 2 minutes!? This is the WORST Canadian Tire I have ever come across. Actually, it's the worst customer service I've ever experienced anywhere. I don't normally write reviews but I had to this time. PLEASE take your business to the Canadian Tire store in Kingston on Gardiner road, it's well worth the extra drive and will almost certainly save you time and money! Past bad experiences here: 1) I had an emissions test appointment booked on a Sunday and found out once I arrived that their garage is closed on Sundays. 2) I needed 20 pails of driveway sealer from the back room because they'd already removed their seasonal merchandise from the store floor for the Winter. It took me 40 minutes of circling the store to find someone who worked there and would get the sealer from the back for me. 3) I had 4 pails of sealer left over after the driveway was finished and had to return it. I walked in with a cart full of pails and handed my receipt to the clerk at the return desk. It took her over 20 minutes to figure out was going on and then she started blaming me for not being clear enough with what I needed. She insisted I wanted to pay for the sealer and had not a clue what was going on. Finally she says "I thought you wanted to pay for these" to which I replied "How often do people pay for items by handing you receipts at the return desk?" I have given this store chance after chance and they keep costing me time & money on every single visit. I'm done giving them chances and you shouldn't bother giving them any.

We had our car towed there because we were in an accident. We left by rental vehicle to our destination to come back at the end of the weekend to pick up the car and it was supposed to be repaired and ready for us to drive back home. When we came to pick it up nothing was done to it and they didnt even order the parts yet! The parts took over a week for them once they finally ordered it. So we had to carry on with our trip back home to NB with a rental vehicle which cost over $1500. When trying to pay for my work done from NB they would not accept credit card, bank transfers or cheques. We went and got a money order. John the owner didnt even know what that was! Then he was a real piece of work Rude, Yelling and Verbally Assaulting because we sent in a money order...I guess he wanted a certified cheque and didn't know what a money order looked like, Both are guaranteed funds. So after all his psychological mentally unstable attitude we find out that he wont release the car to the towing company even after the parts and service manager spoke to us and got our approval to release it. He is then telling us that we need to fax him authority to release it, that emails aren't accepted and hand written note scanned and sent to him is not accepted and that it HAS to be Faxed. As soon as he got on the phone he yells, telling me that my car has been a problem. This guy has NO customer service skills and when asked if he speaks to all his customers like this he admits and says YES, I DO! The rudest, mentally unstable man I have ever spoken too! If they had done the repair when we dropped it off as they said they were going to and completed the work on time we would not have had to spend $1500 on a rental $800 on towing to Kenora for auto shipping and $2000 to have it shipped back to us. Totaling $4300.00 expense to us because their work was NOT DONE! Instead we would have just driven our vehicle home fixed. All it needed was a wheel bearing!!!! Unbelievable!!!

Me & my husband MacKenzie MacLean did run into car problems, but not on the account of Canadian tire in Porthawkesbury N.S! This place is our favorite store on the island. We never had problems with this store or the people . The manager Tim , went up & down for us today and resolved everything for us very efficiently. Yes they're that fast! We are amazed for all the tim & his team did at the Canadian tire shop in Porthawkesbury N.S.

When I arrived to the store today there were 2 individuals standing at the entrance waiting to go in and another man approaching the entrance going in across from me, a member of the Canadian Tire staff (who might have been the owner of the store as he was not wearing the Canadian Tire uniform) was at the entrance guiding the line and letting people in as space became available due to capacity limits for retail stores in Ontario. The staff member told the man across from me that the two individuals waiting by the entrance were waiting to enter Marks Work Warehouse so if you were going into Canadian tire you were good to go in. I was behind the staff member so I’m not sure if he knew I heard him give the go ahead to enter the store if you weren’t going into Mark’s Work Warehouse. The staff member yelled at me as I walked in the entrance and proceeded to tell me I was inconsiderate among other things in front of the two individuals waiting in the Mark’s line, after I apologized and let him know that I was entering Canadian Tire not Marks Work Warehouse he called me inconsiderate for what I had did for the second time. From there I turned around and left the store. I wish I had a chance to say I was sorry to the two individuals waiting in the Marks line before I had left because I do not mind waiting in a line during these pressing times with capacity limits in stores, I am completely understanding of that, but I ended up going to my vehicle and crying in the parking lot for 15 minutes before I could continue home. I left feeling completely belittled. Perhaps I could have clarified with the staff member that it was okay that I went in as well, but I’m super frustrated with the customer service, I believe the situation could have been handled in a better and more respectful way. If I could give -10 stars I would.

Returns are easy with or without your receipt. But without your receipt you only get credited for the price from the latest sale. Which is fine with me as pretty much everything I buy is usually on sale. Bigger ticket items, I always save my receipt. I also learned something new today, they have both John Deere Green and Yellow paint in spray cans in the automotive section. I didn't have to drive to Kingston to get it at the dealer. Awesome. Love CTC.
