Border patrol is reasonable and the lineups are even shorter crossing into Canada. If you travel frequently, nexus is a must as it will give you the same time to come there and back. Pretty good, would cross the border again.

I drove from New York to Niagara Falls and when I got to the border, I had an amazing feeling and was relieved that I would get to my destination soon. But, it takes another one hour or an hour and a half to get to Niagara Falls from the border. Be careful with meter system if you have never driven outside the USA as Canada's speed limit will be displayed in Kilometers, not in miles.

They were so rude, and worst behavior I received from a border patrol. One of the officer in the car lane was so rude, he came back and forth to make sure we had waited long enough. They made us wait 3hrs, even though we all were U.S citizens and just right here in Buffalo.

Very nice, new boarder. Too bad that despite having 15 lanes, the Canada Boarder Services Agency can't be bothered to have enough staff to actually open more then three or four booths at a time. Avoid the bi-lingual line as the French guards always have massive attitude and not the greatest comprehension of English .

As an American trucker, overall I've had a smooth crossing experience at this crossing. As long as all you paperwork is in order before you cross, they're shouldn't be a problem. Been crossing a couple of months now, only had an inspection once and the officers were courteous the whole time.

I did get all the documents to participate on the Manitoba Nominee Permanent Residence Program and never got the Electronic Travel Authorization, reason why I travel to this office and asked why your government did it to me and my family, the officers didn't answer and turn me back, because of that I respond that rules are maked to be broken at the way you do your things, USA didn't renovate my visa last November 2018 and I didn't say anything, just say thank you, xie xie ni hao, I'm going to invest my time with another culture that deserves my efforts and you don't ever will have the right to say anything.

Always a pleasure going to Canada to see family. Boarder agents are always very friendly, I understand they ask questions and I always provide the answers, and always will have a friendly conversation as well. While it’s the complete opposite with the US agents. Won’t hurt the US to be friendly and learn a thing or two from the Canadian agents.

the Canadian border is the the best border i think to drive thru to Canada. If you think are being rude well they are not, they are just doing job and keeping both country's safe. they know when people are lying and when people are telling the truth. they have the best police or sheriff's working at the border. and when they ask to check your trunk, its for your safety and there safety. just tell the truth and you well get thru faster than you think. just don't record while going thru the border beaus it is a safety rule for online.

Seriously rude and hostile customs experience by a female Canadian official on 10/11/21. Felt like an interrogation and then a pretty curt denial of entry - she literally told me to "turn around and go back to the United States." Sheesh.

Know before you go Make sure you have the right travel documents to enter into the U.S. For Canadian citizens travelling by air, the acceptable forms of ID include a VALID passport and a NEXUS card. If travelling by land or sea, an enhanced driver’s license may be accepted. Plan ahead and check border wait times. Avoid crossing during peak travel times like weekend evenings. Consider crossing at the least busy port of entry in the area. Taking your dog or cat along? They need to be three months of age or older with a valid signed and dated certificate from a veterinarian verifying vaccinations against rabies.

The worst experience ever, the officers are rude and unhelpful. There is no information regarding flagpole in Canadian government website. I went there to activate my residency status and the officers were so rude and disrespectful and told me we have more important things to do than flagpoles! They ignored me, and told me to go and book an appointment with the offices in town even though my residency visa is about to expire and this was the fastest way for me! They had more important things to do, they started chatting with each other and laughing, there was nobody in the border except me but they denied to help me! They get paid to waste time and be disrespectful!

Canadian border officers are generally super chill. Don't be afraid to be relaxed and friendly with them – this doesn't mean making small talk or giving more information than they ask for. In my experiences crossing the Peace Bridge, be courteous and friendly. If you have nothing to hide, that should be easy to do. And please, clean your car and remove anything unnecessary before crossing.

On Google search they offer a toll-free number, available only in Canada. I guess they don't expect (or welcome) inquiries from south of the boarder their name suggests they serve.

I love traveling to Canada, been to Canada dozens of times and find Canadians friendly and smart. Unfortunately my experience at the border was the opposite of welcoming. At the crossing booth, after I explained that my company does business in Canada, and that I am visiting clients, the officer told me that business should be done "by locals" and put me in the parking lot. I was asked to come and wait for additional "questioning". The waiting room is uncomfortable and out of 70s. You don't get a ticket ("they will call you") and no information on how long it will take. I was "called" in about 1 hour. Additional interview took 1 min and they let me pass. For what reason was I sitting waiting? No welcome to Canada, no explanation, nothing. Clearly, Canadian officers have problem with understanding how business between US and Canada works and need re-training. I don't think I will be able to look at Canada the same again.

I go to Toronto every year during the summer. Never had an issue . Just follow they orders . All Id ready . Sometimes some officers don’t talk much . They are not rude , just doing their job. They know when you lying and suspicious. So you will feel their wrath. Who cares if they are rude. Follow orders , show respect , tell the truth and you will enjoy Canada. Show some respect. Oh and when you’re in line and see them ahead searching cars , be prepared . They will check every nooks and crannies on yours. With the dog in hand . K9.

I crossed the Canadian border on December 12th 2021 in the afternoon. All the officials at the border were very polite, especially the young woman immigration officer. I really don't know what you are writing about !!!!! I guess just be polite yourselves and have all documents in order and there will be no problems. Follow a simple rule: Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself !!!! and you won't have any problems at the border and with the officials who are at work and deal with many idiots on a daily basis, just don't be one of them !!!!

Not a review but a question: I’m a truck driver from the states and I was curious on when was the best time to go so I don’t have to wait in extremely long lines. I think I’ll be crossing sometime between Sunday night to sometime on Monday. I’ve heard some people waiting an hour plus! Just got my passport Wednesday and a bit nervous about traveling over the boarder, though it is for work I’d just like to make it as quick and pain free as possible. Any suggestions?

Pulled me over and made me get out of my car so they can search it. Made me leave my wallet and all possessions inside of the vehicle as I had to go inside. turns out there was nothing wrong at all other than the six of them being bored I guess. They caused over $1,600 of damage in the process

Crossing the border was simple and easy. They ask you where you live, where you're going and why. Don't lie, don't take anything illegal across the border, have your passport handy and you'll be fine. Crossing the border will take no time at all.

My truck was inspected yesterday for 4 hours! I understand that officers are doing their job but double X-rays and crawling underneath the truck looks funny and a little bit embarrassing. But they are very nice though. But the female officer inside wasn't that nice at all! I tried to ask a question and she even didn't try to listen to me and started shouting "SHE SAID IT THREE TIMES! GO TO WAITING ROOM. GO TO WAITING ROOM!". It was around 30 years old, female officer with a little bit of obesity. Dear rude female officer. I would like you to do your job and keep the high standards. If there is somebody inside asking a questions that means somebody has to answer them! You're not there to act like Rambo because you're not one. I will write official complaint to CBSA and hopefully you will be trained properly.
