Here you will see the reviews of people who buy the services of Downtown Chatham Centre (Mall) near to the territory of Chatham-Kent (Canada).
To this day the firm has a score of 3 stars over 5 and the score was based on 127 reviews.
As you can see its rating is discreet, neither too high nor too low, and it is based on a very large number of opinions, so we may conclude that the evaluation is very faithful. If many people have bothered to give their feddback when they are happy with the service, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to put evaluations when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Mall is included in the category of Shopping mall.
There is barely any stores here u are better off with not wasting your time and take a 45mins to an hour drive to London or Windsor
Not too bad but not loads here.
Very clean. They need to attract more stores
The mall could use an update, yet offers a good variety of modern services and locals that people want to shop.
Nice variety of Stores. Only half of the second floor is retail/food court. No vacancies in entire mall.
Sad that this once thriving mall has gone down . The government has messed it all up .
Downtown Chatham Centre was the number 1 place to go to get the things you mite need .Plus it was the place to meet your friends. But now there is nothing open except for a few stores .Me as a person that lives in Chstham sure do miss this place.
The only good store here is the dollarama.
It would be a better mall if it had stores.
Great friendly service
The mall has an interesting history. The challenges it's faced over the years have seen much of its retail space converted to office space. This has meant a reduction in actual stores. There is lots of free parking and there are frequently activities at the mall. It would be nice to see some new stores, perhaps a grocery store or other useful amenities.
This mall needs to change. There is no reason for me to go there. There is only 2 restaurants in the food court and Sears is leaving.
It's died a bit the last few years, but it still has a few good stores in it.
If you've ever dealt with anyone from the administration office, you will immediately understand why the mall is 75% empty. It is most unfortunate for surrounding places like Retro Suites - being profitable must be a real challenge for them considering their guests have to look at a parking lot in such disrepair or try to go shopping in the "mall" itself. We're playing real fast and loose with the term "mall." I can't imagine how anyone who has purchased in that eventual condominium building must feel. I would be embarrassed to operate the Downtown Chatham Centre the way they do, but we all have our own standards.
Little small for my liking but you got to start somewhere
Chalktastic Creations had a geat day at Art in the Park Chatham - downtown Chatham Centre. Looking forward to coming back!
Most stores closed. No real reason to go there but dollarama and Ardene... Real shame too. I remember when it was a very vibrant mall
There is nothing there and they didn't even have the lights turned in fully.
This mall is dead. Nothing to see, nothing to do anymore. Needs a major renovation.
An old mall devoid of signs of humanity with old, once thriving now tired, aging commercial establishments like Coles, Ardene, and Laura Secord.
You guys need to fix your hours, we went here at like 7:30 and it was closed even though it says it closes at 9pm on the website complete BS.
Close and convenient reasonable price .freindly;j.great staff willing to help anyone that has questions or concerns .wheelchairs esexable.great for the family freinds and good times shop your heart out .
It's a very peaceful, quiet place to sit and read. I like it here
Nothing there anymore.....what once was thriving is just now an empty with a few stores.
Very little at all occupies this mall. A few speciality shops that have friendly staff for the most part. Decent dollarama.
It's so sad . They have no stores left. The mall is almost empty. Beautiful building though Wonder what Chatham will have now . What will be next for this building. What a terrible thing to happen to Chatham Kent County. I remember the days when you couldn't find a parking spot. The store's were busy. It's really so sad now . Hopefully something good will come out of all this .
junk- Like most downtown centers - nothing here unless you are specifically going there for something/someone. Signs were too infrequent and spent most of my time looking for the business I wanted.
Mostly deserted. Silly place for a mall, really.
Good mall but kinda dead
This place just needs to fill up with more stores ,perhaps if the people who lived in and around Chatham-kent suggested what types of businesses they would like to see fill the downtown chatham center ,then I bet it could survive but with what's there now I see it only fading out eventually.
Good but they need more stores for us people to walk to the one that don't drive
Went to the cellphone store very pleasant staff
It's a lovely place, I just wish they had more shops and activity. Without a mall Chatham will just feel like a small and empty town.
The mall is dead, the town seriously needs to do something about the vacant stores in the mall. Find a way to get business in there. It's such a nice building and great location, its a shame that it is a ghost town.
Not many shops open...I think it should be turned into a sports arena
Not enough stores or activity, but very nicely kept and in a great location.
Well organized and clean. This mall is small but has some good shops. The people are friendly and they sometimes have special events.
A lil run down
Great mall! But I think should get an Urban Planet, open it where Sears is, I think it would help the mall a lot for business and attraction.
Pretty empty but clean and cool. Needs more stores.
Large parking place, clean and organized but quite empty. Still have some stores which were good to do shopping with family on weekend, such as : Suzy clothing stores, Dolarama, Benley bag store......
This mall has seen better days. Only a few stores left. A lot of walking was required which means I probably wouldn't go there again.
Love coming here, although most of it is dead now, still love this place
Daughter went to Ardene's and Dollarama. Would love to see more stores though. Hopefully new owners revitalize.
Great little mall, but the lack of stores is concerning. They need to draw in new business.
It’s in the middle of a heat wave and the air isn’t on in there. No wonder this place is slowly dying. Anything to save a buck!
Wish there was more stores but over all great!!
So sad to see so many stores closed
Chathams mall has pretty much became a joke. Theres a dollar store, ardennes, some food, and some random little stores that tend to be over priced. At this point I wouldnt even call it a mall, go to london or windsor if you want to go shopping.
Great variety! Very clean
Wish they had a Hudson's Bay store at the mall, but overall it's a great mall!
It's better then before but not too many stores here. Hart is an awesome store though
Good places to shop, relatively cheep prices. I really enjoy the stores.
Love coming here with my son! But as with most malls quiet and no where to shop.
My daughter refers to this as the 'Sad mall' - due to the sadness. I don't understand people rating this 4 and 5 stars... what's there to like in this place? Maybe don't nail the stores so hard with the rental fee's - if it was affordable you'd have some stores, instead of barely any. I don't own a mall - but if I did - I'm pretty sure I'd prefer some rental income per unit, to none.
This place is a joke. Its a dead mall that was bought up by union gas and has a few random stores left in it. #chathamproud
This mall in downtown Chatham is really a quaint mall with some nice stores, mostly clothing. Business is very slow here, but the Dollarama store brings in the majority of the foot traffic to the mall. Recently, a new store has opened that has something for everyone. It carries household items, bed and bath, clothing of all sorts, specialty foods, home decor and more. The hope is to increase foot traffic and to basically bring something new and refreshing to Chatham.
Sad, to many businesses closing. Soon I can see the mall closing.
It was great rickys has a great sale
Coming along very nice again. I think the new Hart store is a great addition.
The management is losing all its retailers and stores within the mall. Eben with the offer of free rent for a year the owner/mangement cannot srem to attract anything more than persons wishing office and event space. There is a business management issue clearly as thr stores are not the issue. The businesses vacating are doing well and thriving as are other businesses neighboring. This is clearly the business owner and or management firm that needs to rework their strategy or be forced to close due to lack of intrest in the facility. That would be a huge shame as the realeste and venue have so much potential
Food Basic.. In Chatham Ontario.
Not a huge selection of stores, too many vacant spots available. Clean hallways, good for indoor walking.
Plenty of good stores if your looking for a good trip. A few decent places to eat.
Gone downhill over the years, only a couple good stores left and the new Hart store is there haven't been in it yet tho union gas pretty much took the building over and now years is gone
Only the stars. The Sears there went out of business so they don't have a real food court... Just a Subway... i need more variety myself.
Nothing to see or shop. Literally is an ghost town. Unless that is your thing.
A wonderful and beautiful shopping center and always clean, and there are several different stores, clothes, mobile phones, accessories, furniture, shoes, small restaurant, pharmacy, gym, flower shop.
always nice .going to mall in home town
Nice seeing and talking with a special lady who works for Laura Secord
Not too much in there Don't feel safe either.
Every time I go to this mall there seems to be less and less stores I have a feeling that this place might close down for good soon. They really seriously need more stores in there. It would be sad to see something that was a big part of my childhood go to waste.
Fine hangout place. Not so live during weekdays.
They need to announce What's open bigger on the out side of the building by the doors and there open hours
I have no reason to go there anymore and do any shopping whatsoever. The place is dead. There's nothing to eat in the food court. I could keep going. So much negative things to say about this place. It's sad really.
Need more retail
It's nice and quiet place for shopping but only limited number of stores
The mall is great, variety of stores. Mainly clothes (which is good for my son, my girlfriend and I) but also good food court and other accessories. There is a few stores that I wish would've stayed or go in there but beggars can't be choosers.
In my opinion, Internet shopping is killing this place. You could shoot a cannon down the main hall and not hit anybody. Most of the stores are vacant. Nonetheless, there are still a few gems here and it's actually a nice pleasant shopping experience. I'd rate it a 4 for the experience and a 2 for availability. Hence my overall rating of 3.
Nice clean mall filled with friendly people. Not a fan of the music outside. Too loud and distracting mostly rock. I avoid this area but would be nice place to sit at picnic tables to eat lunch or play chess.
There are no stores worth shopping at. They have all been driven out. Such a waste of space!
Great Mall! Nice variety of stores, but the only 2 things I wish this mall had was a Tim Hortons and for the hours to close at 9 PM everyday. Oh I also wish this mall had an EB Games. :)
Very sad indeed! Went mall walking and found it depressing. I used to be a frequent mall walker and it was fun because you could "window shop" as you walked. Not anymore! Turn the upstairs into condos or apartments and have the stores downstairs with a grocery store in the old Sears store. Bring it back to life!!
Social distancing, was a great day just being outside
Nice mall, dont have many stores but during Christmas its joyful and a good place for ideas of presents. Washrooms are decent and food court upstairs. 2 stores are closing and no stores really on the top level
There is nothing there. The mall is mainly Union gas offices. Not much in the way of shopping.
Love the place need more time to see all but nice
There's so little in there now. Can't wait to see what's going to happen with the new owners!
I love the Chatham down town mall always good scenery good hearted people as well as incredible businesses with affordable prices
I only rate the mall 2 stars because it has become so empty. The stores that are still there are great, but they won't last long unless things change. If they actually fixed things when they broke down and not wait months, that would help. …
Place is deader than dead. A relic from days gone by. Literally nothing much left here. The new 'Hart' store is a mess. Coles Bookstore just shut down at the end of May. Bentley's is gone too. Northern Reflections said they aren't renewing their lease either. By and far, Dollarama seems to be the only busiest store in the entire joint. Nothing left of the food court either except a lonely Subway. Escalator frequently down--in some cases for weeks at a time. No way for handicapped people or others with accessibility issues to reach the second floor without going all the way up to the Parkade's top level and using the pedestrian bridge! Which brings me to my next point -- there are NO washrooms downstairs either... I'd like to know who the geniuses were that designed and built this embarrassment in the first place? All you people giving this place 5-star reviews must be hitting the bong or something... The city is buzzing with all sorts of rumors that everything from office space to a Mosque will be moving in here, if it doesn't fall into receivership first. Face it. The 'glory days' of the DCC are long gone. No 'revitalization plan' or tossing around a bunch of fanciful ideas is ever to going to bring it back. This place might as well become a museum that pays homage to a bygone era. It is FINISHED. Goodbye DCC, and thanks for the memories.
They need more stoes and resturants as well they need to make it accessible for all
Great local craft sale however the mall itself was sadly lacking. Very few stores and I would not go unless they have another local craft sale again with venders.
I was at a Dr appointment located at the east end of mall building off King St and wanted to enter Mall THERE IS NO OTHER ENTRY EXCEPT AT THE OTHER END. I AM UNABLE TO WALK THAT FAR AND l almost just went home but walked back to my car …
Bankrupt and Insolvent. Soon to be taken over by the City to be repurposed as office space for the municipality as well as relocating City Hall.
Empty. Pretty much a sad joke at this point. A travesty. Nothing but a great big EMPTY mall. Shattered windows outside the old Sears store, broken escalators, non-accessible elevator, no more washroom downstairs, burnt out light fixtures, filthy washrooms, etc. Just old, dark and dingy looking. It's a relic from days gone by. Would the last person out please turn off the lights and lock the door(s). The place is all but finished...
There is next to nothing in this store, completely dead around noon... sad really, it used to be booming and now just waiting to close. Wouldn't even bother making a trip here.
Sorry excuse for a shopping centre. Quite ironic, actually. Used to be a bustling place back in the 80's and 90's. But that was then and this is now. Malls are not the center of our cultural sphere anymore. They're no longer new & shiny--or even relevant. Sears is going bye-bye soon, and I expect the few stores that remain will eventually follow suit. In any case, I do most of my shopping online, or I'll head to London & Windsor and make a day of it. Can't even find a decent pair of jeans around here anymore... Nothing left in here but ghosts from the past. Empty, desolate, dark, and depressing. Like walking through a museum.
Very dissatisfied with the mall. I came with my daughter for our checkup with our midwife and the escalator is broken again. How do you suppose I get my daughter and stroller back to the main floor? …
Sad to say this, however the mall's time has come and gone I'm afraid. Owner defaulted on his mortgage, so the entire place is in limbo and facing an uncertain future at this point. Nobody knows for sure just what's happening with the …
An always evolving (revolving?) group of stores. The newly opened Hart takes the space left when Sport Chek vacated. (This reviewer starts at 3 stars and goes up or down accordingly.)
So many shops closed. No more Laura Secord candy and ice cream.
Very clean very friendly staff best place to shop in Chatham Kent excellent prices on things
It's a great place to go especially when it comes to holidays and I love how many stores are in the building
If there were more stores I would love it more!
Not the same as it was a few years ago, alot less stores, and more kiois both type things. Only walked thru, no purchases made, cleaning staff working hard, again tho inconsiderate shoppers, no masks or had the mask but wasn't properly worn.
Useful place
Has some very nice stores. Wish they could bring in more stores to fill all those that are closed and bring in more Shoppers. Needs a good anchor store like Kohls.
A glorified, empty, run down DUMP of a mall that should've been relegated to the wrecking ball 10+yrs ago. There is NOTHING, I repeat, NOTHING left here except a Dollarama and some tiny thrift store named Hart. Whole downtown core is dying.
Kinda sucks need more / better stores for shopping!! Been a long time comming we have nothing here.
Chatham needs improvements to the downtown experience. Businesses are suffering. Stores that are still in the center are great tho. Thanks to them for holding up
Nothing further needs to be said that others pretty much have already mentioned. This place is deader than a doornail. Very little stores left now. Pretty much all office space which is now occupied by Union Gas, and even they'll be gone once their lease is up. Sears (the mall's biggest anchor) will be closing for good in October, 2017. Only A&W and Subway remain in the Food Court upstairs, as the Shawarma and Wok place just closed up shop too at the end of February. Even Goodlife Fitness doesn't appear as busy as it used to be (and it's expensive anyway). No washrooms located downstairs, so you have to go all the way to the back of Sears to use a ridiculously small elevator if you're in a wheelchair or use a scooter in order to use the washroom. When Sears finally closes, how are people with limited mobility supposed to use the facilities up on the second level? Sears had the ONLY elevator in the entire mall. Nobody could answer me that. It appears that not much thought went into this place when it first opened for business in October of 1982 (to much fanfare), but the excitement soon died off. Even way back then, I wasn't all that impressed with the joint. It could be argued that the construction of this mall destroyed downtown Chatham, not to mention the recession of the early 90's hit the area hard and it never really recovered from the "glory days." Everything except the bars and restaurants pretty much close down after 6PM. King Street is essentially dead after that. I'll be surprised in this place sticks around much longer, or is simply converted into all office space, since it has failed miserably as a retail centre. Almost EVERY single store that tried to make a go of it here, failed. The term "Ghost Mall" is a fitting description for this facility, and as more and more brick and mortar stores go the way of the dinosaur over the next several years, I expect to see lots more of these once-bustling metropolises fall to the wayside and dotting the landscape. Even the once biggest mall in the USA; Randall Park Mall in Ohio, has been abandoned and left to the elements. To me, this is not only proof of how the face of retail has forever changed, it's also a powerful symbol of the economic decline facing the West, a classic example of what's happening to small cities and towns all over North America. In summary, don't waste your time here, folks. London or Windsor is where the action is, especially if you're searching for a specialty or hard-to-find item. You're not going to have much luck shopping in Chatham. In any case, I predict this place will become a mere hollow, empty shell of its former self, reduced to nothing more than a nostalgic memory of days gone by in the tumultuous years we face ahead. To the ash-bin of history it goes...
Love shopping at Arden's Suzy Sheer and Charm Jewelry store we buy all our Jewlery there
The best
Very quiet and not alot of stores open..so sad as it it a beautiful place.
This mall used to be so nice now there's such little stuff in it and always dead sad to see Chatham go downhill
Really depressing. Used to be full of life, but 3/4 of the mall is empty and abandoned now. The top floor has only 5 out of maybe 20 stores open. Very quiet and unsettling.
mostly an empty mall. lots of empty shops on king st.
Probably one of the worst malls I have ever seen. If there was no stars that's the one I'd pick. Thank you. Not trying to be mean but it's a terrible mall.
This is almost empty. It is a loss for the local area
Still very empty but a lot of interesting stores, too
Fix your stuff. You Wonder why the units are empty?
No stores left seems like the Management does not care. Escalators have only worked for 6 weeks in over a year. Come on guys get your act together.
This is definitely is not a mall. The building can only boast of Ardene, Sears, bluenote, dollarama etc. I had to drive 138km to London for an exchange of a footwear because the store a very popular one in Canada is not in Chatham and it's so called mall.
A complete joke. Total farce. No elevator since Sears shut down, so basically not wheelchair friendly. No washrooms downstairs, in fact, not much of anything left here except a fitness centre and a dead pharmacy. The Dollarama was by and far the busiest store in the entire joint. LOL @ all these 5 star reviews, but exactly what the hell are you people smoking? Want a serious shopping experience? Then head an hour down the 401 to London or Windsor. Don't even waste your time with this clown show of a "mall", or anything downtown for that matter. Oh, and it was recently announced that A&W is closing in May... And will that stupid eyesore of a condo ever be completed? My hunch tells me otherwise...
Quiet and small, Not too much to do hear. But it is a very friendly place. 4 stars for that. :)
Went to Charms. Service very good
If your an 80s kid and can put aside all the vacancies and sadness, it brings nostalgic joy because it still looks like 1983 in there.
Not much happening, Can't wait until the re-vamp!
Nothing worth going there for anymore
