The potential is there, especially since it used to be the best place in town to go and shop, run into old friends, enjoy the food court. Now the shops are mostly vacant, with very few shopping options. It is, however, a clean environment that does provide some good shopping options nevertheless, its just a shame to see it so empty and quiet when it could be the same busy environment many of grew up knowing.

This mall has been around since 1973 and was a great mall in its heyday from the 70s-90s. It was always a favourite place to shop with my family growing up & as a young adult. Unfortunately since mid 2000s the mall has has a decline in traffic, & this plus the movement of the economy has forced many stores there to shut or move. In the past there were Sears, Walmart, Woolco, Independent Grocer, Steinburgs, Reitmans, Suzy Sheer, Tanjay, Aldo, RadioShack, Laura Secord, Music World, a bank & three jewelry stores, plus many smaller non-chain stores & food counters that are no longer there!!! The mall is now undergoing a major reno with a newer layout that hopefully will attract more businesses. Currently there is Staples, Planet Fitness, Bulk Barn, Shoppers Drugmart, Northern Reflections, The Source, Tender Tootsies, Charm, Coles Book Store plus some smaller businesses & offices. The mall is not a hip place to hang out for the time being, however it is rather a bright quiet place to go read a book or take a stroll plus do "a little" shopping. Also it is hosts community events & fundraisers throughout the year & contains murals depicting the "birth" of the Canadian flag here in Brockville.

I am terribly disappointed with the direction the most recent ownership is taking. Eliminating successful businesses that are still hanging on in a struggling environment as well as leaving the remaining ones hanging in doubt is very questionable. This was a community minded facility for decades and that has clearly been turfed for the all-might dollar.

Best thing about this mall is that shoppers A) don't have to deal with the horrible parking problems that shopping downtown Brockville has. B) won't have to deal with the rude store clerks that inhabit the downtown stores. And C) won't have to deal with the obnoxious drug dealers and stoners that wander the streets yelling and scaring people. There are unique little stores and a great fish and chips place in the food court! Very clean and friendly place!!!

Sometimes walking through the mall makes me sad, used to be such a busier place when I was a kid, now lots of empty stores. But it's slowly filling up, and there is more local feel in there than a more traditional mall.

I went in here to go to Bently and buy a wallet. I've had the same one for over 10 years so it was basically falling apart. But I'm super picky about the kind of wallet I needed, it has to have lots of sections for receipts, money, pictures, cards, etc... and must also have a zippered change part. The woman that helped me not only went above and beyond to help me find a wallet, she went in the back and brough one out that wasn't even on the floor yet AND gave me a wonderful discount! When I was young, the mall was the place to be. Most of the stores are gone now and we are left with a flea market full of nicknacks and stores that change every few months. It is dirty, run down and even the food court is a ghost town. Many major food services and businesses have either relocated or closed their doors for good here. I only visit because my phone provider is located here and the book store.

The 1000 Island Mall has been sold. Stay tune to new changes in 2018. Presently this is a very limited shopping mall that has been on a downfall. The new owners will be transforming it to something NEW.

This is not a mall. The inside closed 2 years ago. No access to the interior. Converted to curbside stores and businesses only. What you see on the exterior is what you get. Closest inside shopping malls are Kingston, Ottawa and Cornwall. Each a 1 hr distance. Sad.

A variety of shops, so I'm sure you will find what your looking for. Shoppers Drug Mart has a lot of different things, that you would assume that is in a drug store. Treasure Hunt, The Source, Bulk Barn not to mention Staples. So it's a one stop shopping site.

Thanks to the advent of the big box stores this place, like many other malls, it's lacking. There are still a few stores anchoring the mall (Shoppers Drug Mart and Sears, For example) but otherwise a trip to Kingston or Ottawa is needed for any real selection.
