Here you will see the information of real people like you who used the products and services of Uptown (Mall) in British Columbia territory (Canada).
Right now the firm gets a rating of 4.1 stars over 5 and this rating has been based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that it reaches an reviews average is really high, and it is based on a large number of opinions, so we may think that the score is very accurate. If there are many people who bothered to leave their review when they are pleased with the business, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to put reviews when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Mall belongs to the category of Shopping mall.
The stores in this "mall" are fine. Like the Wal-Mart, Shoppers, Whole Foods, Petsmart.....all good. What is NOT good is the way this mall/complex is laid out. What a "puzzle" to figure out! If you are driving into parkade every time, it may be alright. But it is definitely NOT set up for pedestrians. No main entrance, no signage for anyone walking, just a parkade to greet you. Hardly a welcoming atmosphere, at first glance. it is also not very safe for walkers, entering via a dimly lit parkade where some drivers are less than alert when it comes to people walking between cars, etc! Do be careful. The levels make NO sense. Street level is level 3, go figure! People are always looking around trying to figure out where to find a particular level or store. One employee told me that the landlord is cheap and tries to save money on less signage! Could definitely be the case. 2.5 stars overall but definitely could be better, in terms of lay out and signage!???? Geared for shoppers in cars, that's for sure.
The place is great...the amount of people however, is crazy
Clean open outdoor mall, great restaurants around
Lots of parking, Businesses offer a good mix of cheap junk and high end products... something for everyone. If you have a fee unrelated errands to do you can probably complete it here.
Escalators are not a ride, people
I'm was disappointed, haven't been there in a long time and I have a disabled patent I was with, the now pedestrian Street with no parking access made it impossible to have her come shop with me, so we left.
Good for.shopping of fashion clothing
Very nice atmosphere for total shopping and more. Family fountain for kids, ice cream. Food vendors. Parking was no problem Beautiful grocery store available as well. A must go to.
Good outdoor mall that adds a bit of fun to your shopping day. Like having a little water park to cool down in. Adds some fun instead of just being a chore to get things.
Good selection/variety of stores. There isn't alot of dining options here, but the Indian buffet on the west side of the complex is really good (highly recommend!) There is also lots of parking and transit near by.
Not only is this walmart low on products, but the staff is unaware of what's even in their own department. Every time I ask for help I receive the same response... "I don't know". I'm completely disappointed with their lack of people skills and proper training. Regrettable experience everytime I've been there, so now I rather drive the extra 13kms to the Langford Walmart. Never had a issue with that Store.
It's nice having a mall that's outside like they use to be like.
Very busy place, there are bus connections within walking distance, though it's a bit intimidating being a pedestrian with so much traffic in the area. The actual mall is modern looking and has pretty much anything you need.
Store is undergoing renovations and it's really impressive oh how they are mitigating the disruption to the customers. Great selection of all household items you could need. Plus very cheap and reasonable prices for produce.
Honestly I go here quite often, especially Walmart, but I wish they would have a capacity limit for Walmart and some other places. Because just the expansive size of the store allows a lot of people to be there at the same time but it definitely limits everyone's ability to successfully social distant. Not to mention they're lacking when it comes to inforcing mask protocol.
Wide variety of stores and services... parking is difficult to figure out, but there is plenty of it. There is often more walking needed than you would expect. A useful place, even if it feels rather impersonal as walking between stores is all outside.
Great place to relax and shop. I recommend Good Earth as a fantastic coffee shop in Uptown where you can grab a drink and then go for a wonderful walk around. The landscaping is always gorgeous and very clean. It is a great place to go shopping or just browse around the many nice stores in the area.
Very practical and beautiful shopping center ! Uptown is a county and the name of the Shopping Center .... Brown social house is the restaurant that I used to diner 5 times a week ... Good food ... Let's try the Chicken General Tao ! Delicious ...
Not much there but not busy either
Impressive to say the least. Very clean and well maintained. Staff is polite and helpful. So much in one place and you can get everything done in one spot. If the Walmart in Toronto looked like this I would go there more often. This place has a relaxed vibe and atmosphere to it that makes you want to come back.
It was only ok the selections of stores they have at Uptown. The good thing is that it is an open mall, which is very important due to Covid. It is very busy during the weekends.
So beautiful at uptown shopping plaza. Love the courtyard, and in summer, there is a water splash park. Free. And benches for anyone to sit and enjoy sunshine. That was before Covid, so may be different now. It's easy to find the stores. While there are more than 1 elevator in the entire system, there should have been a second 1 near the Walmart. Waiting for 1 elevator between 5 levels sucks, then adding the pandemic safety makes it nearly impossible to use it so I find. I love the Emily Carr library, best buy, Walmart, and many other quaint stores. If you haven't been, I suggest you check it out, even if it's something that you end up not liking, you can cross it off your bucket list.

Good shopping centre. Mainly women's clothing centric shops. Has all the cell shops some good food options and two good coffee options. Shoppers, Whole Foods, Liquid store, Wal-Mart, Michael's and more.
I love this mall! It's an excellent place to meet for coffee: it's central, has plenty of free parking and has at least a couple of vendors to choose from. I also love the courtyard feel when you enter the heart of the outdoor complex. I have spent many afternoons here with my daughter in the summer months as she and other young ones scream with delight as they run through the fountain. Great shopping and great atmosphere.
Great shopping centre. Lots of clothing shopping, Walmart and Best Buy etc. Ambiance is very European. Also have events and a large decorated Christmas tree in the main courtyard at Christmas.
The electronics department has zero service... And when you ask for help , the employees always seem to be rude. This is most departments. Idk who the store manager is but he/she better start doing their jobs and hire more friendlier staff... And lots more employees for store quality. Easy peasy.
People HATE to work their.....so they vent on the customers!
There is so much in one stop shop. Many upscale shops, lots of shopping. A gym, insurance, Shopper's, Best Buy, and many many more stores and shops. Plus having Browning Social Club there for lunch or dinner, makes a full day of shopping with the girls extremely well done!
Great shopping centre with probably every tennant you could imagine. Lots of free parking. Great big pet store too.
Beautiful, I remember when this was just a Wolco and a parking lot
Busy and no good mapping system available to find stores. A hot spot for smart phone AR games. Caters to the pop culture shoppers. :P Parking is a bit annoying above ground. And finding stores from the garage is challenging. The architects must have been drinking on the job.
Lots of parking, if you use the parades. Good luck ever getting the "on street" marking. A wide variety of food and shopping available. Very clean and safe.
Love Uptown & the varieties offered within this complex. Particularly like the medical building physicians & medical services including ReBalance & Fitness Center below. Well rounded options for all aspects of business.
Fill your boots at the walmart changeroom. Anything and everything you can fit in your new backpack or basket. I also recommend the hand held printers that fit in your pocket as you shop.
Uptown has a community bfeel to it. And great selection not shopping services. Everything you need in one place. As the seasons change, so to does the appearance of uptown.
Good for what you need. Parking lot is a nightmare, awful design, especially the upper one. Makes you feel really unsafe as a pedestrian after your park. Decent variety of stores though.
The upper level parking lot is an adventure. Keep your head on a swivel and do not make any casual assumptions about other drivers following, obeying or even noticing minor details like Stop signs, Do Not Enter signs, curbs, pedestrians or you in your car.
A fairly good selection of stores in this mall, including Walbart Shopper's Drugmart and Best Buy. Parking us ample and convenient.
What a fantastically beautiful shopping experience! Especially during the warm months as this outdoor shopping experience is “lushingly” transformed with the most spectacular hard and soft scapes. There’s even a mini water park for the children to splash around. Christmastime is transformative as well... where the water park is transformed by the addition of Santa’s Workshop next to THE tallest Christmas tree you’ve ever seen!
Not impressive if you ask me. It's been around for what.... 10 years now or something and there are still tons of empty buildings and spaces? At least it has a delicious cupcake shop, a water fountain for kids to play in, a library, Michael's, and banks. Oh and of course Walmart. They really should have done a better job with the parking lots though. People who don't drive must have designed them.
Walking distance from me, a very nice location in general, I might be biased a bit but go check it out! (Also lots of parking but like all the reviews say that)
When society rebuilds, uptown will be the castle of the new king of the island. It's stone walls will repel the weak primitive warfare humankind will be left with, the secured parking will hold the riches of the realm, and the low upper walls will serve as defense for archers to defend from above. Will shop there again.
Uptown has the usual mix of big anchor stores, in this case WalMart, Best Buy and Whole Foods, plus restaurants, clothing outlets, cell phone stores and banks. Unexpectedly, there is also a library, a Michaels and a PetSmart. Lots to do here. Most of the stores are accessed from outdoors, so it is not the typical mall. Plenty of underground and some street parking. Good wheelchair access.
It's your typical Wal-Mart. This location can be a little awkward to shop as it has two floors. If you have lots on your shopping list, this can make this difficult if you don't plan on getting everything you need on the first or second floor before continuing to the next.
Looks very nice water fountain is a nice place to sit and chill they always have security walking around so it's a safe place to go no hooligans running around doing whatever so no worrying about your safety when you are there
The store is not allowing people who have claustrophobia and ptsd to not wear a mask while on the property I have both and I will take my money elsewhere, as I told them I am a bigger problem with the mask on than I would ever be with the mask off, they need sensitivity training and a copy of "how to win friends and influence people" by Dale Carnegie
nice mall with tons of stores and more!!! now main entrance is just for pedestrians be aware! you must park upstairs or below!!!
It is a large mall. The design is nice and definitley built for shopping and walking. I wish they could left the upper arcade parking as a walking only area, but in the end the place is still built for motor vehicles more than pedestrians.
It's always fun to visit Uptown. It has a great atmosphere and they do a great job of decorating and landscaping the outside space. There's lots of parking. A really big variety of shops, from clothing and accessories, to coffee shops and restaurants, to the big stores like Whole Foods, Walmart and Best Buy.
A perfectly good place to shop. The outdoor market in the middle is fun, it's oddly indoor/outdoor, but it has all the places you want in a mall. Outdoor escalators are fun.
looks nice and lots of stores
Convenient parking with a Shoppers Drug Mart for last-minute needs you might have, especially when visiting from out of town! We got some activities for our road trip back home to the States. A lovely Whole Foods is on the other side with access from the lower parking lot.
Uptown is convenient and awesome but I always refer to Walmart as "the zoo" And of course it never fails.....every time I go I see some kind of debauchery .
Lots of free parking. Awesome architecture and landscaping and a great choice of store and restaurants.
I don't know where they supplying their fresh produce, it's the poorest quality you can find in any store!
I love Uptown, it has a lot of things and good parking spaces. Last Christmas it was beautiful with all the lights and the giant tree. I think many people goes there because of the Walmart, but there are many other thins too to enjoy!
Parking here is a complete, unfettered disaster. The designer should fined, fired, and stripped of their certifications. The entire concept poses an extreme danger to pedestrians and high blood pressure inducing frustration to drivers. It's worth driving to Langford instead if you need to visit Best Buy or Wal-Mart.
Because of the covid19. I understand that you have to wear masks but what about the store? You'll know when you walk in there. Hello? Where are the cleaners?
I am not usually a big fan of Walmart, but they recently acquired pieces of a high end designer clothing line - all in plus size. I was able to acquire two beautiful dresses, suit jacket, and sequin top. Original retail price for the 4 pieces over $600, Walmart clearance price - $25 per piece. Yes, folks, that is $100 plus tax total. So grateful to have that kind of a find! What a blessing. I also love the redesigned foot traffic walkway Uptown has created as a result of Covid. I wish more people would wear their masks while around other people. At least Uptown's spacing allows for social distancing outside including big yellow distancing stickers on the escalators and increased number of cleaning staff spraying surfaces with sanitizer.
I used to think this place was really good. Lately with a lot of spaces vacant I find it feels like somewhere I only ever go if I want to do a Walmart run. I love the grounds, beautiful atmosphere they've created. They need to drip their prices and being in some.more great places before I'd consider giving it a 5 star review anytime soon.
This is a gorgeous shopping area with a lot of personality including a lot of greenery that could double as a park, a kids splash pad, a colorful walking area, and a nice water fountain. There are stairs and an elevator for the multiple levels. Various stores can be found here including Walmart, Starbucks, Whole Foods, Dynamite Donuts (awesome vegan Boston cream donuts), a cannabis store, Michael’s, and a bunch of others. Lots of parking underground or above ground. Was a treat to go here!
Nice shopping centre with some of your favourites.
Well maintained, clean, and beautiful. Entirely outdoors, so you'll want to bring an umbrella. On the bright side, poor weather means shops are quieter and you get excellent service on those days. Weekends and holidays they organize family events in the park.
Uptown is convenient, so much stuff packed together.
Great shopping centre, a lot of stores both name-brand, local, and big box so lots of variety. Unfortunately parking is a nightmare and access in and out of the area is not ideal. It tries to bridge the pedestrian, transit, and vehicle traffic with confusing.and frustrating results.
One stop shopping for everything you can think of. Like most malls it's heavily populated with clothing and telephone shops, but you can find some wonderful gems here in terms of coffee and niche stores. Budget a couple of hours, worth the look!
This is an outdoor mall. A shopping high street has been created supporting a variety of smaller shops and boutiques which is surrounded by major outlets like Best Buy and WallMart. Theres a play area and water park plus a couple of coffee shops. Parking is free and mostly underground but there is also street parking which is usually full. It's cool to park for free under the street you shop in.
Great Mall and lots of stores, restaurants and parking. Bus stops all over the place too.
I really haven't been here enough to know how to find my way around, unless I'm headed to Wal-mart. I can always seem to find Wal-mart. Lol
A lot of Shops in open area that you can walk by, major anchor stores like Walmart and bestbuy are there too. a lot of underground parking available, there is water play area in summer, huge christmas tree light up in winter, library is not big but has a good view, I liked sitting there reading while waiting for my daughter to complete her art camp at 4cat studio
Ooff, very busy and could not find a good luggage place. Amazing Petsmart though. Also beautiful layout.
Lots of stores with lots of selection. The Full-service Walmart is the best part of the mall. I also love the liquor store with lots of neat products I have never seen anywhere else. Parking and the entrance into the mall is a terrible layout especially for bicycles. This mall needs a redesign of the parking and entrances in order to be a functional Mall.
It's another ugly mall with all of the normal ugly mall necessities (Walmart, Best Buy, clothes, food, groceries) but plated in a very well-designed facade of a European village. If the aesthetics help you justify your consumerism, then you're good to go. if not, it might just make you more aware of the capitalistic tragedy of modern times.
Uptown has a wide variety of stores to shop at that range in price. There is a store for everyone. Whole Foods and several banks are available on the upper level of the shopping center. Loads of parking and wonderful restaurants.
It's always fun to visit Uptown. It has a great atmosphere and they do a great job of decorating and landscaping the outside space. As far as shops go it's the same old mall stores, Cell phone shops, teen fashion, a Starbucks. Mostly we just visit the big box stores and move on. If you don't enjoy a driving challenge then it's best you just avoid the place all together though. This place must have been designed by the people who created the sets on 'Canada's worst driver'.
Great
Uptown is a giant, chaotic, faccad strip mall or perhaps a strip mall in drag. Here we get to drive into a multitude of entrances not really knowing if you'll end up even close to the store you actually intend to go to; if you did choose wrong, you have the pleasure of meandering about outside, inside, up stairs, down stairs up or down elevators to get to your intended destination - that is if a car doesn't take you out first. Mixing cars and pedestrians...outside in the dark and rain...I just never understood why. Also whomever designed the master plan for this shopping centre, never thought it be prudent to put an apartment or housing above this massive plot instead of a couple floors of (now) empty offices
I was visiting the island from Vancouver, my friend took me up here for food, shopping and the gym. Lots of parking which was very nice. Super nice buildings, very neat and tidy everywhere, some cool selection of stores around. Good eats. It was a very nice visit!
Beautiful scenery and great shopping! Highly recommended if you don't mind a bit of struggle for parking. There is great public benches and seating as well.
I have been around since the Uptown Mall used to be the Town & Country Mall. What an improvement ! There are too many good things that could be stated about this Mall to place in a review. I will say there are not too many malls that include a library but this one does. There is lots of parking and easy to find since it is accessible from both the Pat Bay and Island Highway.
It's really xxnice as far as shopping goes, they have forever 21, Walmart, and a Starbucks, soooo pretty much everything you'll need if the world is about to end ???? ummm also this place is kept really clean and theres lots of free parking. Theres also a nice plaza with fountains and a nice "hangout" area
It really is like a small town away from the city, even though it was all archicturally fore-planned. We found a perfect parking spot today. At Walmart, the prices really are cheaper. One sees old people, young people, gay people and a billion food and consuner products. I bought a week's worth of food (two kinds of cheese, 2 delicious pannini rolls, a bag of coleslaw, a pound of butter, two frozen Pad Thai dinners and two new toothbrush heads for my Braun battery powered toothbrush. That ran about $50 bux. I was most satisfied. My belly and my teeth and my belly feel better. This makes me feel love.
Great place to bring toddlers in the summer, the water park in the middle is perfect for them. It can be a bit confusing at first finding where everything is, but once you have it's supper convenient. Most of the shops are big brand names and that's why it's getting 4 stars, not 5.
Lots of great stores but the parking situation is awful. If you have to park up top be prepared to get frustrated!
Great shopping area. They have everything from budget stores to high fashion shops and delicious restaurants and coffee shops in between.
Rated it 3 stars because its too busy and security is sometimes rude and pushy. Need better store selection too many woman's clothing not many places for men to shop
Very clean outdoor mall. Seems that more stores are moving in every month. Tons of parking, I'd avoid the Walmart parking lot though, it's a madhouse. Try to park up near whole foods. It's the quietest part of the parking lot.
This mall is great! They have lots of great stores: plenty, urban Trail, H&M, dynamite, premium label outlet, etc!
Always enjoy going to Uptown Mall
I hate the location of this Walmart I live in Sidney and have to bus most of the time so I don't get to Walmart to often. Plus it's always over packed with ppl . Very annoying . I couldn't even buy broccoli here because they had none . What a joke . Maybe move your location closer to Sidney
Always an easy place to stop when I need a variaty of things, from cheaper budget items or food from Wal-Mart, to electronics from best buy or clothes from one of the many stores lining the way. A great mall located very centrally. Above you can find another variety of things from a whole foods, to a tailoring store to a library. The mall have a very welcoming and open esthetic that is fantastic to walk through, certainly during the Christmas season.
Great selection, well maintained. Water park area during warmer months. (Not a very exciting one tho) theres something for just about everyone here. Parking can be confusing for people, best advice would be enter and return in the same place. Easy peasy. Enjoy your time here
First visit! Wow, definitely larger inside than expected. Lots of choice. Will definitely be back when we come back to the Island.
Beautiful Doesn't have as many stores as I would like but the place itself it is fantastic: organized, colorful, classy.
Beautiful outdoor style mall with large box stores that blend in. Much more enjoyable than just the box stores in a parking lot. We participated in a fundraising photoshoot put on by the mall and the ladies running it were amazing!
It's a great mall but despite its massive size and completely outdoor structure you're not allowed to smoke anywhere on the property if it's kind of messed up
I am giving this Walmart a 4 due to location, size and convenience. Walmart is Walmart but larger square footage means more product variety. BUT, in a city that gets lots of rain, you can come to this one, easily park underground, escalator up with cart. One stop shopping to avoid getting wet. Underground also has access to several other big stores, again, no rain.
Unique architectural design with numerous brand named stores, restaurants and coffee shops. Parking is abundant underground buy above ground spaces are tight and spots are small.
The stores seem to just let clothes fall off the racks and no employees bother to pick anything up. Be careful of pedestrians while drivinf to parking spaces as they will walk out onfront of you without warning
Nice new sprawling commercial development featuring whole foods, Walmart, big box stores, restaurants, banks, public library, etc. Lots of underground parking too. In general, the uptown centre can be very busy at times, but it's a nice looking development where you're not indoors all the time.
Great collection of shops. I enjoy that they’ve created more walkable spaces, over xmas they have filled them up with igloo shelters. The cottage for Santa photos is a delight.
Neat spot loads of shops
It's pretty good for the nexus of all roadways in Victoria. Lots of good shops and a few box stores stylishly laid out and interspersed with health and financial services and parking. It's a car drivers destination.
Lots of options. Not much of a shopper but I enjoyed the decor! The light up was just about to start but I left before it got too busy out there ????
Excellent place to shop
Lovely out door shopping mall. Not only are there many great stores, the mall itself is very well taken care of, nice and clean, and trendy in its location as well as design. A great place to just hang out with friends.
The cashier at the pharmacy was friendly & helpful. The cashier at the Express checkout had clearly had better days. She was very unpleasant. Her mood was palpable that's how bad it was. I think we've all been in that place but it is NOT ok to bring it to work. It's just plain unprofessional no matter where you work. If you can't teach yourself to use your job as the distraction you need from your troubles then it's time for a Mental Health Day!
Uptown makes me feel like I am in Arizona at an outdoor mall and that is good enough for me! Plenty of places to eat and shop and you will ALWAYS find a parking spot.
Great selection of stores and a beautifully built area. I love walking through here with a coffee on a sunny day. Feels like Hawaii. The parking up top can be a bit of a battle ground but the parkade below always has some open spots. Worth stopping by to do some shoppang and enjoy the architecture with a coffee.
Loads of parking although a little confusing at first , but once inside this place is beautiful awesome little water park for kids. Brown's social house here amazing place to relax and enjoy your adventure
Planning departments from around North America come to Uptown to see how not to plan a commercial center. How this car focused disaster was allowed to happen is beyond belief. Get ready to sit in traffic.
Uptown employs labyrinthine parking lots to more than accommodate it's visitors. It houses both Victoria's most and least expensive supermarkets (wholefoods and Walmart) and it has it's only H&M. I like uptown because I like H&M.
Not fond of layout of mall, too choppy trying to get from one store to the next.
The only reason I go to this mall is this certain type of plunger that Walmart sells. I have no idea why I'm as always needing plungers though.
Really nice open air mall. The shopping options are not amazing, but you can find some interesting things. There are some really nice places to sit down for a while.
I just don't like how security treats me here sometimes I get accused of stealing.... other than that I love uptown great shopping stores, medical places all in one all in one location
So many great stores! Most places are pretty expensive but you've got Walmart and Forever 21 to balance it out, which also makes for good people watching! I recommend sitting next to the windows in Starbucks for a good view ;) Also, parking is plentiful but never expect to leave Uptown quickly. Never leave from the parking garage exit that is closest to Saanich Rd. Don't do it!
Not a fan of the parking lot but the shops are clean and plentiful and it's a lovely place to stroll. Water features, green spaces, lots of food options.
Some good shops but don't buy a gift card for the mall because there's a 2.50 service fee per month so if you want too long your card won't have any value left!
This place is not very wheelchair accessible. The handicapped elevator was broken and that made it extremely Horrendous to get a round. We had to walk some serious distances to get to the Walmart. We couldn’t use carts to take our groceries back to the handicapped parking because they locked the tires on the long path on the way back because of the rout due to the handicapped elevator being out of service. Did I mention that because it was out we where supposed to call security to help us. It took them forever to send for a person.
Love the location but the parking is terrible here. Especially the upper level parking that enters and exits from Blanchard. Don't even try it... do the underground. You won't get caught in a 5 minute traffic jam.
Best place to shop around . Very spacious and ample parking outside and underground. Great constructed mall with no roof. Best part are the night lights everywhere around the mall which i enjoy viewing all the time there after it gets dark.
Good quality food at reasonable prices!
Surprisingly nice mall! Very clean, outdoor mall anchored around the Walmart. But it has tons of other good retail stores. It is a little confusing to get out of if you don't know your street names, but otherwise a great mall.
It is hard to believe [and witness] the kind of violence exerted upon a defenseless man by two thugs in uniform, disguised as security guards. These kind of actions bring disrepute to an otherwise nice shopping area, it is not something that I want my child to observe or be exposed to…and all that for a few lousy pop cans!!!!. There is no justification whatsoever for that kind of violent action. A public apology is the very least and decent thing to do…this is not the jungle where the strong hurts or kills the weak. My family will not patronize your establishment until there is a satisfactory redress .
Insane sized store. Two levels and big selection. Some areas were chaotic to try to find things in, impressive variety for many cultures.
Such a lovely design for outdoor shopping- if you don't typically enjoy mall shopping, this layout is sure to please- birds, landscaping, and water feature make it feel less like shopping, more like an experiience.
This is a regular stop for us now not only because of walmart but the variety of stores, banks, library, gym and medical clinics. Food coffee and retail therapy. It's beautiful new mall in Victoria. The parking is an absolute disaster on the weekend. Avoid Oak street exit on the weekend.
A bit confusing in its layout, but has really come into its own the past few years. Trendy and a fun place to hang out.
This is a fantastic mall with lots of stores and even restaurants, it's just up the road from Mayfair mall as well. 16 (Uptown), and 36 (Dockyard) both lead up to this mall. The Walmart here has a very wide selection of everything that you would need.
The parking lot levels are an incredible puzzle to amuse/annoy. Expect to leave the parkade and re-enter at a different point, as it will probably be faster than any internal route.
Everything's very close and accessible with very little walking as there's escalators, parades, security, elevators and much much more... even A Browns Social House. Very good food ,drinks and the hottest waitresses around to treat you great with nice big smiles and good advice too enjoy!
Out of things how can wall mart not have cat food
Great spot for parking as they offer a huge underground lot. Walmart is a tad beat up for a huge company this store is in need of some repairs. Escalator for shopping carts has been broken for months and with one elevator things sure do get backed up. But as a place as a whole it is a tidy spot with lots of great little stores. Best Buy is a great store.
Great mall to charge my car and do some shopping!
Gorgeous architecture and open plan remind me of open malls in southern California or a disney style shopping complex. Also the only walmart, forever 21 and whole foods in central victoria so it's nice that they're in a mall that's so enjoyable.
Crowded, hard to access, tight difficult to maneuver the parking lot upstairs
Christmas preparation as always! Superb
Lots of parking. So many different shops. Something for everyone.
Great shopping center which is very COVID friendly. Many parking options easily accessible on foot. I like the multilevel parking and stores. Also very beautiful lights around Christmas time.
Beautiful mall at night and during the day, lots of events year round in the court yard. I would give it 5 stars if the parkade made sense. You can technically get up and down the levels via car but it’s a convoluted maze. More signs underground would definitely help. Most people don’t seem to realize how much parking is available downstairs. Whether it’s summer and you want to keep your car (and dog) cool or it’s fall / winter and you want to stay dry,!underground parking is the way to go. The shops also offer umbrellas to use while in the mall, which is a nice touch.
Always lots of space in the underground parking.
I parked under ground, I was going to walk to Walmart but a drug addict followed me. I ran to my car & locked it in time.
Good shopping amenities, however not going to give full stars because I know they do not salt their grounds enough during the winter months. My mother slipped and broke her wrist (no health history of orthopedic damage) last night in the area between Wal-Mart exit and the return cart area of the parkade. My mother is not a senior so if this happened to a child or an elderly customer, this will not bode well. In fact, I work in the ER and there had been a few injuries from people falling and hurting themselves badly from Uptown.
This place is always a mess of people, not enough staff and what's with the no bags?!
Nice plaza mall with some convenient stores like Walmart. There's plenty of parking available. There's a nice little green area in the middle with occasional events depending on the season. Overall a well managed property. Note that there aren't too many food options to choose from as there are around 10 places.
Wal-Mart's Carts Needs To Attest Reach The Side Walks Before It Shuts Down N Then.. I Have To Push It On Two Weeks Every Time. 'Cuz Its Locked" Just So Its Wasted Money Their Paying To Have People Fugue Of How The Get The Carts Back. Unless They Got A Magic Key To Unlock Then I Need One Too
A very modern outdoor mall experience. In the summer, there is a water play area with multiple fountains and around Christmas time there is a very large Christmas tree in the center courtyard area outside of Wal-Mart! Has alot of stores that will meet almost all your shopping needs.
The shops in this mall are great. Its a VERY pretty mall. But give yourself alot of time and bring patience. The thing is, it is not easy to get oriented, and its difficult to get around. its built in sections which are separated. If you park in the "wrong section" its not easy to find your way. Say u park at the noodle box for food but want to get to moors for a shirt while you wait for food to cook.. this will prove very difficult. For a pedestrian/outdoor plaza its the worst pedestrian design ever. Pretty - but walking it is not very doable. The mall often forces you to leave and re-enter elsewhere. I cant ever find a way finder/ directory anywhere. Ive been shopping here for years and often try to avoid it. Parking is full of bottle necks and the good parking is always full - forcing you take the difficult pedestrian approach, then fight traffic bottle necks into and out of the mall parking.
Stop at Black Apple for battery change. Lunch at Good Earth. Browsed sale items at Chai clothing. Thumbs up for all. Uptown is my favorite mall. Great variety of venues.
Large outdoor mall with lots of shops and services. Lots of fashion and restaurants. Walmart, whole foods and shoppers drug Mart for one stop shopping. Library branch and lots of restaurants and coffee shops.
Ground level parking is hard to find but there is lots of parking in the parkade. Lots of stores to see and visit with some variety. Nice place to take a stroll and also get some groceries.
Everything one would need to complete your new apartment starter pack. Food selection was large with lots of ethnic offerings. Salmon was well priced, mandrins were sweet and easy to peel. Kitchen appliances had some good deals on rice cookers/steamers and small microwave. Our Chinese overlords would approve . The place was very busy between 5:30 & 7:00. Staff said it was best to shop after 7:30 if you want to avoid the crowds in the late afternoon. Parking was convenient as there are escalators out front leading to the hectic parking lot.
Very convenient location. Lots of store options including some decent restaurants and cafes. I like the North Face Store, Steve Nash Gym & Browns lounge
Nice department store with many products at good prices
Standard mall fair with chain stores although the parking on ground level is horrendous the underground parking is always quite accessable with lots of space. These kind of malls usually lack heart and style with their chain store nature but the layout is nice and there is a unique courtyard for children to play in and some vendors to setup which counterbalances, albiet slightly, the usual drab settings of a mall.
I will never ever go to that place again, I was about to order coffee and the woman who worked there she literally ignored with no reason. She literally ruined my day by her behavior.
great spot to shop till you drop ????
A number of clothing stores, cafe and restaurants, fitness gym, pharmacy, salons, public library, bank and more! Walmart, Steve nash fitness, forever 21, liquor store, Starbucks, shoppers drug mart ....list goes on. Christmas time is a site to behold with the biggest light up tree you ever saw. The multilevel shopping center is 3 stories tall, with elevators and escalators, multi level parking, wheelchair accessible and security via video recording throughout the areas. Something for nearly everyone.
Time and again research has shown that slowing traffic and/or giving streets over to pedestrians improves business metrics. I hope Uptown will move to this model for its Boulevard. I heard they might do so at least temporarily to welcome back customers, but I think it should stay. Other than that, the only detractor to the physical space of Uptown is the empty lots found at the north and south ends of the property. I did see signage indicating some changes to come; will keep an eye on it. Anyway, the cherry blossoms display was magnificent along the Boulevard. The Christmas display was good. The planters (flowers, annuals, trees, etc) are all beautiful, but that's pretty typical of Victorian gardens. I won't speak to the choice of stores because that's personal. All in all, leave your car in the well lit (but slightly confusing) parkade and enjoy walking the Uptown mall.
Needs a pub, and no, Browns Social House is not a pub. An actual pub with good beer choices. Without that it's just a regular mall with no roof to keep you dry while you shop for over priced clothing.
Great food and service at Mucho Burrito????
One day in the future we will all live in a corporately sponsored "Town Centre" and upload tweets and grams about the latest happenings at Starbucks corner, and Best buy park. Until such bliss arrives we have uptown. Live, work, play, consume.
Great variety of stores. Plenty of parking. Nice places to eat also.
What a poor set up and no it's not a mall ! I'm not sure what to call it. Who wants to go door to door in the rain etc whrn you can go to Mayfair mall and everything is dry warm and comfy. Who ever Designed Uptown has obviously never went shopping lol
Never seen a mall like it before. Great outdoor mall design with a lot of popular stores nearby. Parking is kind of a mess especially if you go towards the top.
A beautiful mall disguised as a district. Outdoor plazas, fountains, speakers hidden in foliage, it's just gorgeous. If it were easier to access having so much traffic I'd be here all the time.
Great variety of stores but you have to walk outside to get from one to another.
I've only ever really been in Wal-Mart great prices. Michaels I was followed around made to feel Super uncomfortable. shoppers wish they were still open 24h
It's a nice store. Both of my kids work there
Nice small center. I wish people will enjoy the calmness of this place and convenience.you can even take your children because there is no vehicles that pass through.
Parking can be iffy on busy days. Nice selection of stores and great for adding steps for those exercise minded persons. Bring weather gear if it is poor outside; mostly uncovered walking between stores.
Huge place. You can find everything there.
Nice mix of shops. Great things to do in the area. Probably best mall in the GVA. Crust Bakery is a nice addition.
I've never seen this store this clean and wide aisles. Clear directional arrows now if only people would follow them we'd all be better off.
Decent stores, but the layout of this place is absolutely deplorable. Driving is unpleasant, with lefts through surprisingly heavy traffic and three way stops that have loads of pedestrians. Many locations are awkward to find or access.
Lots of shopping all in one place, stop for a treat go to the library take a break read a book
I think its built a little wierd, Walmart is the star of this outdoor mall. If I wanted to go to the stores upstairs and buying large items, moving your car is no bueno. But uptown does feature stores you can't find elsewhere in town.
I'm so proud that this Island finally has a decent shopping Centre, lots of parking space, variety of shops, their shops are all clean, welcoming, and most provide a selection of well priced items. Even the Walmart in this place is clean, organized and let's not forget that it carries an extraordinary amount of variety for amazingly great prices
Uptown shopping center has about anything you could need. grocery store, pet store, high-tech store, restaurants and lots of clothing stores. They also have a very warm community vibe and zipline in the summertime.
The shops are not that unique or special but they often do events that are good and the kid in all of us like playing in the water fountain. Sidewalks can be crowded when busy... Small and the rest is taken up by planters. When there is a traffic jam... You aren't getting out of there any time soon... Maybe it's just that people don't know how a 4-way intersection works... Or maybe it's the poor Road design. It has its moments, could use more unique shops merchandise and food.
Modern new mall with many stores Walmart Starbucks etc many choices for trendy Womens clothing and accessories..a specialty liquor store a children's play area with a summer water park..some trendy restaurants escalators elevators, security is excellent and more than ample parking..usually very busy.. best time to shop at,for example:.. Walmart in my opinion is between the hrs of 5:30 and 7 pm Sunday courteous staff, walk in clinic shoppers drug mart and Victoria public library ( Emily Carr branch). Clean restrooms food kiosks and many others..
Uptown was the only mall in the area to offer trick or treating for small children this year, and we so appreciated it! Great community service (and great PR for the businesses that participated!).
There are some great stores here but, unfortunately, this mall is an absolute nightmare to navigate as a driver or a pedestrian. Signage to find stores, exits, etc is really poor. Parking is tight and poorly laid out such that just getting out of the mall can take 20 mins
Very convenient as not in the heart of the city can get everything you need instead of running all over the place and trying to finding parking.
So pretty with many great stores together. Many were quiet and I received great customer service
Awesome experience. They have a great set up on street. Covid friendly and blocked if from traffic.
The mall is a nice place to kill some time while in the core but it’s mostly like any other mall. Several floors with a lot of stores. Located in the shopping area it’s easily accessible and not far from anywhere around the downtown area.
Walmart needs to add at least 2 more cart corrals in the covered parking lot. Presently there's only one. If parked some distance away the tendency is to leave your cart askew wherever you like. Such orphaned carts could go off on a roll and head right into a parked car!
Not one for Malls so it was fine. The main courtyard area is very pleasant. Lots of parking but you need to learn the structure and set your expectations.
A great "inside out" mall. Lots of great stores and services and beautiful walkways and scenery
The Walmart bathrooms smell bad and are always dirty or the stalls don't lock always super busy which is okay just wish they enforced more covid rules and not let other people rub against you there so close
Great outdoor mall. Can be a pain if the weather is blustery but otherwise a nice integration of function and aesthetics. Lots of stores and food to choose from. There's a fountain for the kids to play in. Trees, waterfall, gardens and birds give the area a nice look and feel. The parking can get confusing. Follow signs and ask for security if you need help. Give yourself Lots of extra time during the holidays. Boxing day can come to a stand still. Concierge services can be found on the ground level near Walmart. They can help you.
Great shops, with lots of variety. Food options are also really great. Parkcade is a bit of a mad house and not very well designed. Have been stuck trying to get out for 40 minutes a few times, so avoid the parkcade at all costs.
My son goes to daycare here. My wife and I shop at the mall frequently. Lots of variety in shops and mall is kept in great shape. Only downside is driving around the place can be frustrating and street level parking is always packed.
This place is a gongshow to get in or out of! I only go there for the Walmart. I went there for the Whole Foods and got lost in the underground parking lot. Took me a half hour of driving all over trying to find the eay out. Selection of all the other stores strikes me as targeting 30yr old and younger shoppers. I avoid Uptown like the plague...makes me want to stick to online shopping....mind you, Whole foods, as crazily expensive as it is, is awesome, and the Walmart is massive, with a full blown grocery store built in it.... happy shopping!! But bring bread crumbs so you can find your way back out!!
The exterior architecture of this mall is spot on. It suits old town downtown Victoria, you almost feel like you're walking down Johnson street. The big stores here are good, I'm not a fan of the little pop up boutiques here though. Come here for Wal Mart, cascadia liquor, whole foods, and one of the three insurance offices.
Love shopping quarters like this. Following the trend of modern city shopping is a bonus. I love the variety of shopping, from high fashion to Walmart, there’s something for everyone. I love the cute tiny vendors near the water feature, and of course all of the landscaping. Can’t wait to come back!
Good collection of stores. Absolutely terrible parking lot design. If you enter the parkade or the upper level at the wrong time of day, you'll be stuck there for 10-20 minutes trying to get out.
A pretty cool trendy outdoor mall with some good shopping and food options. There biggest issue for me is accessible parking up top, there's only one spot along the entire inside and it's in the middle so you have to walk all the way to the shops at the ends. The other is on the highway side so you have to walk all the way around depending where you are going - I always thought the idea was to put them up close so that there was minimal distance for someone with physical challenges; NOT putting them in whatever spots you have leftover and what has to be the minimum required amount. It's a little shameful guys
Why are the only bathrooms in Wal-Mart?? The store selection is a bit confusing, kids running in the fountain like it's a community park... Its a nice thought but perhaps it would have been carried out better. Parking is good
The tree is up! What a lovely shopping village!
Be prepared to empty your wallet when you visit Uptown as they're modern selection of clothing stores is unmatched on the island. Throw in a Walmart, BestBuy, and the only thing missing is Starbucks, which they've got located right in the center of the action to keep your shopping spree hyped up!
This is one of my most favorite spots in Victoria. I love walking to this shopping centre. Most of the time visiting Walmart but it has many other services like at least two coffee shops, Best Buy, Canada Post and whole food. My favorite thing about this shopping area is the fountains garden and new seating area...check out the newly erected domes. All famous banks have branches in or around the centre...with Tim Hortons, Dollar store, Boston Pizza and save on food a walking distance across the Blanchard street.
Very nice place to be. Good selection of stores including Best Buy, Walmart, H&M, etc. Usually not too busy. Definitely one of my favourite malls.
This is a nice large complex has that has a lot to offer. A few restaurants with Browns Social, Sizzling Tandoor, Noodle Box. Add in a few coffee shops and treat stores rounds out food. There is a huge liquor store as well as box stores such as Wal Mart, Best Buy, Michaels, Forever 21. Lots to choose from in Uptown with tons of parking.
great place, i get a good deal on my medication and even got inhalers real cheap. they have great coconut oil for $3 bucks. i just did not get great deals on eye glasses but i got my tv and computer from them and they give great deals on i phones too. they are really good at this location.
We are first time visitors in this outdoor mall. It is a vast shopping area so we had to orient ourselves with the location because shopping here requires lots of walking, from parking to distant shops. Some shops need crossing the street to get there, or going up and down the outside elevator. There’s Walmart Super Center, Best Buy, H&M, etc. I will not shop here, with the exception of Walmart, if I lived here, I found it physically taxing and not pedestrian-friendly.
I went to Michael's and the medi-clinic. Good places with friendly staff. It's Christmas time and I just had supper at Brown's with some friends.
All the new changes are very anointing. Eliminating many products is an other issue that turning customers away. When is the cart escalator to the lower car park finaly going to be repaired???
I luv shopping @ the many shops in this super-mall. Wal-Mart has a McDonald's and a walk-in medical clinic. I pay my Shaw, insurance, cell bill and bank in the mall. Best Buy is fun to explore all the latest electronics. Lots of cafes and restaurants. I luv to explore in the library and use their computers and printers if I need them. There is a medical lab across the street. Lots of streetside and underground parking. Elevators and escalators. Some Gov't offices in the area. Gas stations, video rental store, Mr Lube, and tons of small local businesses in the area also.
Uptown has something for everyone! Restaurants, coffee shop, clothing stores, chocolate stores, electronics stores, and the list goes on. Easy parking, great for social distancing!
Well kept upmarket looking , lovely setting. Easy parking, lots of variety of shops.
It's a fairly nice area, and a good place to eat lunch. I go here all the time and it's always nice.
It's a far cry from the strip mall it replaced, but is now quite unweildy and complicated to navigate if you don't know in advance where you are going. It's fine if you enjoy walking and stairs, which I do, but if you have any larger items and need to park close to a particular shop, it can be frustrating. They now also have L2 EV chargers, which is an improvement on just the L3 that has been there for so long.
Best Buy staff usually have a helpful employee that can direct you to your area of interest. Selection is good and a handy onsite tech team (Geek Squad)Not a promo.. That has good warranties worth checking out.
It was quite busy and I found that a lot of intimidating asian kids hang outside of mayfair mall so watch out for that. Also the needles, I stepped on one and it went right into my shoe. But otherwise I had a great time.
Many stores here and many doctors and physiotherapist. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, I would suggest trying to find out how to access underground parking and use the very slow elevator 2 get to where you need to be. It is a bit of a challenge because the elevator is so slow, but if you get the hang of it you will realize that it would be better to wait for the elevator than it is to try to drive into small parking lots.
great place to shop for many different things
Nice mall. There's always enough parking, which is good, it's just that the layout of the parking garages is massively confusing. I often get lost driving in and out, or when trying to get back to my car with shopping bags.
Shopping centre, Water, food, great place to burn off a couple of hours
Great selection of stores, very attractive, beautifully done. While there is loads of parking in the underground parkade, the surface parking amongst the shops is constantly full. This is frustrating for those who just came to dash into a shop quickly - including coffee shops/cafés, and similar. While there is presumably the regulation amount of disabled accessible parking - and generously sized, with curb cuts, etc - I've found the surface such spots to be consistently filled, and parking would require utilizing the underground lots. While this is perfectly fine for longer visits, it's quite frustrating for short stops where the distance required to travel to and from the underground makes it not seem worth the trouble, or simply too much to handle physically, depending on the person's disability... It's wonderful if you can take public transportation here, btw! They're certainly making that easy with stops all around the perimeter of the centre! But for those who need a personal vehicle due to health/ability, that might not be an option, and I wanted to mention that as it's not often discussed. One could probably say this about many shopping centres, however the unique layout of these village-style shopping centres really highlights the parking issue for folks with disabilities. A mall like Hillside has multiple entrances, each with generous accessible parking, to choose from, for example. Solution? Unsure. Perhaps time limiting (some?) surface spots for quicker trips, though this opens up monitoring, and the frustration of accidentally taking a bit too long and receiving a ticket. Hard to say. But I'd advise people needing accessible parking to visit the underground, perhaps near the elevator by Walmart, and coming up there as the elevator opens to the courtyard and may be the easiest route. Definitely worth a visit, plan for parking where easiest but farther away. Shops: 4-5 * Parking: 2-3 * Average: ~3.5 *
Uptown has lots to offer. Walmart, Michael's, Whole Foods, Scotia bank, Shoppers plus much mich more. Great to have free parking amd lots of it. One stop shop. I am there at leaat once a week.
Hi y’all , Uptown shopping mall is the place where I would go for my big shopping list as one can buy all you need at one stop from enjoying multicultural restaurants- Mexican, Japanese, Indian, Starbucks and Liquor World, various clothing shops- H&M , Suzzie’s etc , electronics in bestbuy, to even buying groceries at Walmart. One of the largest internet service provider “Shaw” has its office there as which may be helpful for many looking for services from them. The mall has a large and functional parking space where one can use the elevator or the escalator to simply enter the mall, has good wheel chair access and there are very good outdoor sit outs where one can sit relax with friends enjoy food after your shopping, and for me that would be the best part ????. One can take bus no: 50 to reach there which is frequent every 15minutes. Please remember bus services may vary depending upon from where you start. For example: 1. If you live in Bear Mountain (Victoria) then you will have to take Bus 52 from your start point and reach another bus stop to take bus 50. 2. If you start from Swartz bay you may just take bus 72. I hope my review helps, please feel free post your queries and I would love to answer them. Happy Shopping guy!
Not everyone seems to like Uptown but there's always parking and the urban store front styling of it appeals to me. My kid loves the water feature he can run in during the summer and the stores are new and well laid out.
Always a good mall. The staff keeps the gardens and pathways clean even with snow or hail. The water park courtyard is a good spot to have lunch too!
Uptown is appropriately named, lots of hidden treasures here.
Very rude security, I was walking through the parking lot to catch a bus. I got the third degree from some lame want be cop (security ) . He started using very bad language. The other security guy called him Liam. I was very surprised by this and thought that uptown might want to screen the employees better.
Workers are always nice and helpful
Lacks some stuff I'd expect it to have, nothing in hardware basically. Good selection of glue at cheap prices.
A great place to charge a Tesla if you can find the Supercharger. Wandered round and round until we found a shopping cart attendant who pointed us in the right direction. Tesla, better directions please!.
This mall - and yes, it's a mall, despite its open-air structure - suffers from the same problem as the other malls in the city. Most businesses outside the malls run on 9am-5pm banker's hours. Thus it baffles me as to why the malls AREN'T open later to accommodate this. 9am-9pm, seven days a week should be the norm, not the exception. It's not, and I can't for the life of me figure out why.
Saw several stained shirts for $6
Parking is difficult, shops are okay, but kind of a maze and some shops are very difficult to get to. Very busy. Nice outdoor area with water fountains - good for kids in the summer.
Biggest mall in town, and it’s outdoors so kinda neat with 3 big blockbuster stores that generate big traffic.
As someone who is mostly a pedestrian, I find walking around and through Uptown to be very dangerous. The signage for stops and crosswalks is very undersized, so drivers can't see them, especially when the signs are obscured by bushes or architecture. I have nearly been hit by drivers multiple times. I've heard many complaints about the main boulevard from people I know who drive as well. Most of the stores are very pricey, and clothing stores are sorely lacking in plus sized clothes, and there are a number of empty storefronts, making the selection minimal.
Well laid out pedestrian mall with Art Deco accents and upscale vibe.
Beautiful mall, perfect for when the weather is nice (or at least not raining). Parking can be a little complicated but just make sure to always use the underground parking lot to avoid having to go around a few times on the main level trying to find a space to park.
Some of the best shopping in Victoria as well as the best grocery store in the area (Whole Foods). Many bigger brands mixed with lots of local retailers makes a great shopping experience. Enough food retailers to keep you going and one of the best liquor stores in town too.
The Walmart bathrooms smell bad and are always dirty or the stalls don't lock always super busy which is okay just wish they enforced more covid rules and not let other people rub against you there so close
Got A Christmas tree! That's what I needed for a reasonable price.
Not really pedestrian friendly. Have to walk forever to get to the main stores if you don't have a car
This mall has a bit of everything. I like the expansion of the grocery store. I mostly shop at Walmart because it has more than my west shore location. Michaels is always a must stop as well.
nice and modern open mall, has a nice atmosphere
That's a sweet whip, my boy looking a little rough , but he loves that one for some reason .
Very convoluted place to get around in. It's not really a mall or plaza. Too spread out with its two levels and a no fun place to shop in foul weather.
Beautiful mall with everything you need! It’s like being transported to the states. And that’s a good thing!!
Great place to shop for Christmas and grab some freshly made pretzels.
A nice place for people to gather with a number of great shops and restaurants... within a very walkable area.
Awesome for doing insurance things after 5pm lol otherwise I'm not a fan of Walmart
Awesome for doing insurance things after 5pm lol otherwise I'm not a fan of Walmart
Great outdoor mall :) Well known brand stores as well as cute shop boutiques. Kept clean. Love the "Uptown" vibe :) Parking is good. The flowers are always so beautiful. We usually spend a few hours here. They have a splash pad for kids in the summer time.
Great size. Had what you need for shopping. Lots of decent parking. Parking lot a bit confusing. Could have more signs informing you what street your headed onto and what direction. When your not local it’s easy to end up the wrong way
I only really visit for an occasional trip to Walmart and Best Buy and that's only when I have to. The parking situation is a nightmare, especially on the weekends with lots of parking, but in a maze format with chaotic stops and too many impatient drivers. A lot of retailers seem to have left, so there's not much else I want to look at there.
Favorite place to go for great quality and fresh everything! The deli is oh so good and a great place outside to snack get some sun watch the birds and shop more afterwards....very good quality they have with great service!
Uptown is pretty neat place. Lots of variety of stores there. Love how they have a big Christmas tree with lights on in winter. Also during the summer there is a small area for a water fountain for kids to play. Parking can be insane at times.
Variety of stores make it very easy to complete bug shopping trips all in one place. Sometimes hard to navigate by foot definitely need a car to easily access the upper floor stores.
I like this mall! It has some good stores. It can be a little hectic but what mall isn't. Lots of parking underneath, unless you want to drive around searching for a spot up top.
Really poorly designed main entrance, there's 3 turns for parking just to get in. To go to the main level to park you have to go up a steep road that ends in a crosswalk. It's nice but I wish the parking was designed more effectively.
I remember when the changes started with Uptown. I wasn't against it but I was very apprehensive because I grew up shopping at what Uptown used to be, The Town and Country center. I even worked at that center for a couple months and have many memories at the Walmart there as I grew up. So when the changes started, it was hard to see a place I grew up shopping at get taken away. I wanted to give the new center a chance so like the rest of Victoria I waited until the project was finished and then went with my Mom to give it look shortly after it opened. I found it really beautiful and I enjoyed the variety of shops. My first visit at the new Walmart was interesting, check out my review of that place to find out why. As for the rest of the center, it has continued to grow in a really positive way. I have really enjoyed seeing kids and families enjoy their time with each other in the center square as I walk around and shop. My memories of Town and Country Center will always be in my mind as it was my favorite place to shop growing up. But this new center that continues to grow and expand is a new chapter for us in Victoria that started when it first opened. I look forward to seeing what else is in store here for us shoppers =)
I absolutely love the design of this mall but am I the only one who thinks this place is over-rated? ????
Well.... the McDonalds was the most clean I've ever seen it. Note: I went at 8:00am. So that's a bonus. The man working in the dairy section sang with a humble, yet serenading tone as I shopped around looking for my waffle ingredients. Overall, a pleasant trip.
Great little hub, free parking underneath and many useful stores.
I haven't shopped here much but it's unique layout makes it is fun place to explore the various shops and restaurants. Parking can be a little interesting at times.
Crazy traffic uptown parking, so slow coming out with all arrows
Let me first say the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. It's a new branch and looks modern, the problem is the place echoes. With the new covid shields you have to speak loudly for the bank attendant to hear you. Given that, I was explaining to my attendant I had to withdrawal a large amount of money. Everyone in the bank heard me. An elderly woman in front of me was providing her bank details and address to her attendant, everyone in the bank heard her as well. An opportunist might take advantage of this type of situation. I hope this is addressed soon.
Big box mania. You can get these awesome curry bases for five bucks in whorlmart, or ten in holefeeds. Parking is amazing. Eight levels each divided into seven quadrants, six spaces per span. Five entries, four security guards, three layers of complexity, two exits controlled by one set of lights. You can easily drop a day here and have little to show. Good pizza at Brown's too.
My son bought me a wireless headset, Im happy????
When (someone who got paid way too much) designed Uptown, they forgot to account for pedestrians and any foot traffic. I feel glad to escape with my life whenever I leave that place. On the plus side they have a good variety of stores.
Nice mall, very large!
Parking can get a little chaotic, stores and walkways are nice once on foot but good luck with parking/driving. It was like a 20 minute wait in the parking lot for me to get out after going to the pharmacy for one item.
Great parking in upper and underground lots! Lots of great stores. Distancing, masks and hand sanitizer in all stores. Felt very safe!
This mall is fantastic! Has everything you possibly need, correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure this mall has the only WalMart in all of Vancouver Island. Great place for shopping with hundreds of stores that you can visit. Even has a pretty good food scene. Also has a fantastic halloween shopping store.
Great selection of stores like H&M, Plenty and Flavour and has other amenities to get all your shopping done in one place. It's definitely the prettiest shopping centre in Victoria, the only thing that's annoying is parking. It always seems to be busy and trying to enter and exit is a bit of a hassle.
Possibly the worst layout imaginable for a shopping mall. Distinct lack of signage compounds the problems. It took us 30 minutes just to find the entrance for Wal Mart. Ridiculous. Go elsewhere if you can.
Great place to go shopping and hang out. Lots of parking. Something here for everyone. Sizzling Tandoor had great food, lunch buffet is awesome. Star Bucks, David's Tea, Ooh La La cupcakes, just some of the great places I frequent often when I go there. Nice, clean, well kept environment.
Too high end for my liking and way too spread out also. It really takes many visits to figure out the layout of this place. This is not a pedestrian friendly mall at all.
Really great place to visit. It has a water fountain inn the central area that parents bring their kids to play in on weekend days (with bathing suits). Nice stores. I recommend to just park in the underground parking and avoid the parking in the main drag (people can be very lazy and this leads to congestion).
Uptown is a very nice place to shop. It seems to have everything. Lots of shops and some very nice resting spots.
Shelves are currently somewhat bare.
Beautiful view, specially at night.
I will only be there if I want any electronic products from best buy, which seems like the only place to shop electronic devices.... Not a lot of food courts and Walmart is located there and BC liquor store is there. Walmart has a long time period for opening time.
Big, bright, open. A bit awkward if you have to bring a dog, as you can't take them onto the only grassy area to relax while waiting for someone. The paved parts get kind of hot for little dog feet.
A fantastic open-air mall with a great selection of stores. The center court has a grassy area and fountain where you can bring your kids to play. The set up a huge Christmas tree in the middle there every winter! Really brings the community together, and is clean and well managed. I love walking around, popping into the different shops and grabbing lunch. One of my favourite spots in the city!
Love this mall. There's a fantastic pastry shop and tons of pretty outdoor seating. The acctual shopping selection is just okay.
I really like this shopping mall. Essentially, they have recreated an urban central shopping district while maintaining the conveniences of a mall. What do I like most? The freedom to walk about without cars or traffic lights, no ugly asphalt parking lots stretching for blocks, no drunks or panhandlers... And the big box stores, in this mall context, aren't nearly as repugnant as their suburban counterparts.
I just went for one particular restaurant so I won't be able to give details about the location but plenty of parking, great restaurants like Sizzling Tandoor, Browns Social House etc. And other shops. A good environment for shopping, eating and enjoying.
Was with my daughter who quickly went inside Shoppers to get what we needed. Not too much traffic. Everyone wore masks.
Interesting mix of professionals and services. Was really impressed by the security service s. Me and my F350 got stuck under one of the concrete beams. I forgot I had a ladder on the racks and yes I drove right in to trouble. They saw me on their cameras and came and rescued me. Letting air out of my tires backing me out and filling my tires back up. I didn't have to chase them for help - they saw me get stuck and came to my rescueSecurity. Hats off to the Uptown gang. Thank you!)
One of the best outdoor malls Victoria has to offer. They have a little bit of everything you're looking for in this one stop shop. Many shops, cellular store, big chain stores, restaurants, men's clothing, library... This list can go on and on, just come on down and check it out yourself. You definitely will not be disappointed!
Good options of stores. Plenty of parking spaces. Usually quite busy.
Love this place for breakfast and lunch. Excellent food, served very cheerfully. Baked goods are delicious and it's nice to be able to get some different products from the small deli. I would highly recommend this business...
I love Walmart ???? l can get twice the amount of groceries for the same amount of money elsewhere
Well layout mall. Looks nice and new. This reminds me of some European malls. Only thing what is missing is more restaurants. This could be real nice place to come in the evening, for shopping, couple drinks and good meals. There is one good restaurant in here, but no other options.
It's practically its own little city with how many places there are to visit and cute sights to see. Lots to do and lots to buy if you're looking for a one-stop shop
Has a good variety of shops, but parking is inconvenient to get into. Layout of parking lot design is not well thought out. Bussing or walking to it is easier, but cannot do as much shopping.
Tons of underground parking. There is a MINISO within the Walmart Supercenter! ????
Maybe it was COVID, but in this mall was this was the weirdest, least well-stocked WalMart I've ever seen. I imagine that the whole Uptown Center is probably lively and fun to visit in 'normal' circumstances.
Beautiful place and awesome customers services.
I like this mall. One of the good ones in Victoria. It's outdoor and you feel like you're on the street. Finding parking up above can be hard to get to b/c access on Blanchard only. Overall, great mall.
Uptown has character and charm. I love how they took out the parking right at the shop level and turned it into pedestrian friendly with lots of outdoor activities and lots of seating. Saw lots of people enjoying the outdoor area just as much as they were shopping.
Crowed design and I'm not a fan of the outdoor shopping experience when it rains nearly 4 to 6 mo the out of the year. The shops are great but there's no beating a mall under one roof
If you enjoy concrete and big box stores but like the feel of an outlet mall... well that's kind of weird but you'll probably dig this place ... Their is a library on the top level, a waterpark for kids in the center and you can buy tacos, beer and frozen yoghurt all within 100 meters... so bring the family for a day out I guess...
Like the name says Uptown not downtown. Walmart being the major anchor. Opens 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. 7 days a week Known to close on Christmas and New Years Day. 1 stop, convenient shopping heaven, great retailer choices, groceries, restaurants, fashion, services and ample parking all roll into 1. Discovered Express aisle has been discontinued & replaced by a self serve machine run system. Some less tech savvy customers struggle to make payments. There's an associate close by to offer assistance when they spot those having difficulty. I believe no cash transcends are accepted only by credit card.
The draw for us is Wal-Mart but there are many other stores, food, coffee stops. It's a spralling complex but quite accessible once you learn about parking and such.
It hits a demographic and having Walmart opens up possibilities but there's a lot of clothing stores and not enough hobby shops
Uptown is a great modern location to do your shopping. Everything is open-air so it doesn't feel like everyone is stuffed into a classic mall hallway. There is a refreshing grass patch with a small water park in the centre, and a neat fountain that flows down the edge of the stairway to the second level. The entire property is non-smoking, adding a level of class to the courtyards. My only complaint is the presence of a Walmart.
Outdoor malls are big in the states but don't really make sense in a small city like Victoria. You might actually get back in your car and drive from Whole foods to Best buy its so inconvenient to get to.
Love that place. The Christmas tree is awesome. I just cant help my self every time I go there I have to take pictures
The outdoor shopping mall at Uptown is nicer than some of the other malls in town. The little piece of green is nice and they hold some events and shows there from time to time. The selection for food and shopping is pretty good.
Uptown is a place to help put one in the Christmas spirit. At night the lights of the great Christmas tree dazzle your eyes, and maybe bring some of that child like magic back to the season. There is a plethora selection of shops so finding a special something for a loved one
A lovely outdoor mall. Feels very much like some I’ve visited in California. The outdoor areas are well maintained and feel upscale. There is a nice variety of shops as well. Some mainstream and others more local.
There a some fun stores here. It is an outlet mall so it is does not have hallways connecting each store. They have good food places in here as well. Good for a quick shopping trips.
Good place to find stores. It has a Walmart, complete with McDonald's, a Starbucks around the corner, a cupcake store across the way, plenty of clothing stores (H&M, Forever 21, ect.) and a Best Buy. Plus the seasonal Halloween store sets up there around mid September I believe.
Great location, close to downtown area. There is a good selection of stores, a large Walmart and Best Buy, liquor store outlet and more. There is a pretty good water sprinkler are for the little ones which is very popular with the kiddies.
Beautiful courtyard but confusing area to get around. Signage is poor and the elevator has a 9 to 11 minute wait. The elevator doesn't provide proper labelling for each level and doesn't have a map in it to tell you where store on at each floor.
This place is wonderful! It has a variety of stores and everyone that works in that area seem to be very helpful. I stayed in the area for about a day (stayed at the Red Lion Inn) and found all of my needs met there. The most memorable stores that I went when I was there was Walmart and Best Buy.
Took away a star as the place is to busy these days, nobody wants to go downtown anymore, don't blame them, now this place has to much foot traffic.
What an absolutely gorgeous holiday display.
Uptown is a wonderful place to meet for a coffee, do some shopping, or have a bite to eat! Something that believe that goes incredibly under noticed is how clean uptown is and how hard the ground staff work to keep it clean. Your efforts don't go unnoticed :)
Check out slow, can never find store rep.
Cute, I wish there were live musicians or something and they'd make it a plaza, bougie stores, good vibes, it reminds me a bit of the 10/30 in Brossard, Quebec if that helps.
A really nice place. Lots of parking and shopping. Great variety of shops eateries to entertain any body. Very cleaning and safe.
(Walmart)Been coming here pretty steadily ever since it's opening. It's chaotic during the holidays, but there's always so much parking. It's got good selection, decent prices. Although recently disappointing, as the fiancee found a cockroach in our spinach that I bought last week.
Whomever designed the parking in this MEGA-MALL..really ought to give their head(s) shake..NO (zero) sense..Yes,Walmart is the BIG attraction here but that in essence is the problem..Wait till December shopping begins..I shall stay away!!.
In general Uptown is excellent...a lot of great shops and places to eat or meet up with people. The uppermost parking lot is a bit of a nightmare (especially with a minivan) but fortunately it is easy to walk everywhere once you are parked.
Uptown is a very well designed mall. The central plaza has a village atmosphere, designed for hanging out or enjoying a snack or beverage. Lots of interesting shops as well as the big boxers. Lots of free underground parking.
in doing the shopping at Walmart l was disappointed in the lack ok product and other items which were not available. in trying to find out. what the problem was l was told and blame put on CoVid 19. lt is my opinion that some miss ordering was done from suppliers and also the Greedness from other humans Other wise it was half and half wiyh traffic. An other thing l dislike is the split areas with a highway in between the two malls. There also is a lot of holes in the street that have just come or been around and it seems no repair insight except damaged vehicles. Oh Well
Terrible culture very disappointed in the racist people here. Terrible Terrible centre. No flavor or culture boring
Lots of parking, unlike downtown, lol and it has no bike lanes at all so if you are riding its probably best to walk your bike on the sidewalk or maybe just stay downtown. Jk
Uptown offers a range of shopping from groceries, clothing, technology, restaurants and more. A nice central hub that presents itself as a sort of small town within the city. Often bustling with people, the beautiful architecture stands out. Parking up top in the street tends to be a gong show, however there is consistently more than enough parking in the parkade.
Says a little busy. Seems its the uptown market and traffic is restricted to underground. Traffic jams at all entrances, And flaggers who cant direct traffic. Better thought and planning should be taken into consideration when planning an event like this.
a whole lot packed in to a small area, little confusing to navigate at first, nice selection of stores, love the water features, parking is good, buggy escalator break downs suck, tiny elevator sucks more ????
There are many ppl whenever i go shopping so long line up. Last time, i visited them to find battery for the keyless door opener for my car but did not have it. One guy was trying to help me but he did not know where and how to look so i spent more than i expected. Also, no battery for the opener and if i asked to order it will take too long so i gave up.

Uptown mall likes to employ over aggressive mall "cops" who assault vulnerable people collecting bottles. They also can't be bothered to release an actual statement about the incident that took place on their property and instead try and hide their bad publicity. So, I for one will never be shopping there again. Their stores are expensive and frankly not worth your time. Go to Johnson St if you want better shopping, coffee, food and atmosphere. Lots to do downtown and no reason to go there at all.
Getting into and out of uptown is always terrible. The main parking level is always packed. There is always some car or motorbike being obnoxiously loud. There are some nice shops, but way too many clothing stores.
Lots of different stores to choose from but difficulty navigating it
It has almost everything you can think of that you could need
I like the new design of the old town and pantry however the overwhelming feeling of being watched from every which way and all possible angles makes me overly anxious to come frequently. (Note that I'm a 23 year old individual whom is well dressed, clean, polite and fairly well spoken) due to mental disabilities, and now since covid, it's an unpleasant atmosphere. nearly everyone here are always disrespectful and definitely rushing around faster than Karen is to the clearance section at old navy. Don't be like Karen.
Wonderful, the lovely girl at the cash register set me up for a store card, very patient and helpful, always go when in Victoria
Always busy but pretty easy to shop. Not my pick when it's raining as it's mostly outdoors. Good selection, nice landscaping and close to all areas.
I went to Whole Foods in the evening. Wasn't very busy and social distancing was easy. Had some great vegan choices for my daughter.
Honestly I only go here for the walmart. But very nice place to hang outside and decent stores.
Great mall just no high end stores except plenty everything else is low end stores with nothing really to offer. Would love to see an outlet store of any kind there especially a flagship Nike or Adidas.
After the first time I was humiliated by false accusations of stealing.... I go there because of convenience??..sadly I dread going inside because of that incident... I find there is definately racial profiling at this store:(
Top floor of parkade, traffic flow off Blanshard up the ramp is not well thought out. Same coming down the ramp, traffic entering on your right from middle floor. Wonder what the monthly accident rate is at each location.
Great store but way to hot in there
Largest Walmart in the area, contains a MINISO, - 2 stars because its walmart
Overall a good location, lots of parking space over all, a public washroom in a mostly central location, nice selection of stores, issues come down to constant breakdown of the escalators and elevator along with not the best entrances and road layout, though that is not entirely on them so saying that more as a heads up to be wary. Also good place to stop and lots of shopping and food locations in immediate area and walking distance from Mayfair so if you are on foot easy to go between them. Bus services are routed around the complex, my advice is to use Google maps as it has the bust times in it along with stop locations. 1 star is solely lost due to how frequent the escalators are down for repair, at the best once a week you see one or all down. If you are unable to go down or up stairs my advice would be to park on the parking level that is on the same level as Walmart less you want the stores at the top
The Uptown Wal-Mart doubles as one of the best places for ethnic groceries in Victoria. It's a very busy location, and while there's plenty of parking there's also traffic to match.
Awesome place to get everything you need. Loving all the expansions that were done recently with Whole Foods and other stores. Having H&M is a big plus and theres aleays plenty of underground parking.
Normally hard to find parking that isnt in the parkade but good environment
Outside of a few good stores, this place is a little like shopping in a giant trailer park. I'm honestly disturbed by the people it attracts everytime.
Has a miniso store inside the walmart! Store-ception!
Last time I gave Best Buy a 5-star rating but this time unfortunately I had to go lower, I went in to buy a pair of bluetooth headphones the selection of brands wasn't that great also they had some display headphones setup with sound so you could listen to them two of those did not function and one of those two they attempted to fix with Scotch tape ????
Did some shopping at Walmart and was pleasantly surprised how easy and hassle-free.
It's an enjoyable place to be. There is a water park that children can play in, lots of places to sit down and enjoy the warm weather and the pleasant surroundings; there are lots of clothing stores, a wonderful furniture store, a pub/restaurant; a large electronics store, good coffee shop and of course Walmart where I do a lot of shopping. At Christmas time, I love it when they put the huge Christmas tree up outside with thousands of lights. I would definitely take my best friend from Courtenay who has never seen it, to visit Uptown.
I went to buy $600 worth of toys a couple weeks ago. I'd do it again in a heart beat. Also love how there are many stores around it, makes it convenient just to shop in one area.
Can't support it more, like more local small business.
Walmart is always good. Bought things online, better prices than Amazon and being delivered much sooner.
Lots of shops, lots of people and it has a pretty nice presence as far as shopping malls go. Nice center court too! It also has the only Tesla super chargers in Victoria FTW!
The architect who designed the parking lot must have graduated at the bottom of their class. A good selection of stores but it's chaotic trying to get in and out of the parking area.
Nice mall but lots of empty spots. Doesnt look like the mall cares about its retailers. Makes their money from govt offices and charges an outrageous amount per sqft for the retail spaces. Makes for a lame shopping experience as only big box can afford to be there.
Good place to buy groceries
It gets a lot of hype for its modern, open plaza style, community green space, and water features, but it can't conceal the overwhelming corporate presence of Walmart, Best Buy, and a dozen other chain stores. Entry and exit can be a pain, as can moving between the upper and lower parts of the complex.
Just stopped at Walmart here but loved the selection of stores available
Uptown has a lot to offer: a wide range of small businesses, Best Buy, Walmart, H and M, etc. -- above all office and commercial space in a formerly neglected area in desperate need of both. Although it is mostly an outdoor mall, it is pedestrian unfriendly. Layout can be confusing and priority of the design is definitely parking over sidewalks.
My husband and I drive to and through Uptown at least 5 days a week and we very much enjoy seeing the lit-up trees. They truly enhance the experience of the Uptown area. Thank you for not taking them down after Christmas -- they brighten our days!
One of the better looking shopping promenades. Always very clean. Convenient parking. The food options are little limited.
Big mall lots of parking ,easy to navigate, many favourite shops, clean and bright much better without COVID restrictions, next year????
Has potential says smoke free yet smoking everywhere. The little park is nice for kids while moms are shopping. The park says no dogs but always dogs pooping on the grass not so good for children.
Wide array of stores. Attractive layout.
A big store great shopping near by
Good Clean place to go for every thing you need and don't need. Usually pretty busy and hard to find parking in the main lot. But lots of under ground parking just make sure you remember where your parked.
I only came to buy Epsom salts at Walmart because it's literally the cheapest place in Victoria to buy Epsom salts unless you're willing to buy a 50 lb bag. I've contemplated buying a 50 lb bag but storing that much would be problematic.
Everything in 1 place and it's smoke free, I smoke and I never smoke on their property simply because they ask you not to. Way better than the original strip mall.
I was shocked of how many stores in and restaurants there is there very impressed but needs a little map to show you where everything is
Uptown is gorgeous. They spared no expense in making this a great destination location for shopping. It is an outdoor mall with big box stores. Many doctors offices, Emily Carr Library, a water play area even "love locks". I like coming here, it is usually for Walmart or the walk in clinic at Walmart.
Would be nice if customers had the option of wiping there cart down when they are finished shopping and are leaving
Great mall I use to love it. But right now is infested of rodents u walk and they go out from everywhere I lit panic as I have phobia to them for that reason I'm not coming back I hope the management fix that.
Lots of parking, lots of traffic, lots of people, badly designed layout, ordinary stores, nothing special here. All of the disadvantages of downtown with none of the advantages of a real mall. I try to avoid the place, and I live only a few blocks away.
Our young family really appreciate all Uptown has to offer. From finding craft supplies, delicious, healthy snacks and cute clothes to wandering outdoors seeing the beautiful sights Uptown visits are always an enjoyable time.
Always love going shopping here, no matter which store my family and I are going to. My only complaint is the security guards. As a person with a beard and being covered in "biker-style" (real words they used) tattoos, I have been profiled and followed by them more than once. Big time hero complexes abound, with even bigger egos.
There isn't much bad to say about this place but what is bad makes a big impact. The parking is absolute garbage and laid out very very poorly. The holiday decorations the center puts up are also gaudy and very superficial in appearance. Now that I've gotten that out of the way however Uptown center is a great place to go to meet all of your shopping needs in one trip, they even have a gym on the top floor and offer some great food choices when you need to refuel from all the running around. Inside you can find a BestBuy, a noodlebox, a sushi shop, a Wal-Mart, a London drugs, a Michaels craft store, a visions eye care center, a forever21, a Shaw store, a Royal Bank, a public library, a cascadia liquor store, a seasonal shop(sometimes a costume shop, sometimes a Christmas store), and more. I would strong advise taking the bus or parking nearby and walking in because, as I said the parking is atrocious at best.
The old mall was a lot more convenient than the new one..the new one is more complicated frustrating but I'm not really a mall person
Huge Walmart, well stocked and clean and organized
Great for walling in and around! The road in the middle has been closed and turned into a pedestrian zone with wonderful seating areas (and domes with seating!) The food there is good and overall uptown is the place I go for most of my regular shopping. There is a parking garage, entrances and exits onto all surroundings large streets, and has some seasonal shops and attractions.
Always great...our regular spot!
Uptown is a safe, environmental-friendly, urban, and trendy place to shop. You can grab a coffee at the eco-friendly cafe and enjoy a leisurely walk around, stopping in at the various new stores located here. Uptown also has higher-end shops and pop-up stores, but cheap places such as Wal-Mart as well.
I think Uptown is very tastefully done. Much more asthetic than any indoor mall. Always decorated so beautifully be it flowers or the gorgeous Christmas lights. Lots of good stores too.
Shopping center with business spaces. Has most of the likely brand names such as Walmart, Shoppers etc along with some local and independent stores. GVPL branch is located on the top floor. Parking exists but mainly in the form of a multi-floor structure.
Very clean mall with everything you need except the pharmacy doesn't have much
A crazy amount of parking and play selection of stores. I can see what they're trying to make it, I just feel like it falls short of this. The only time I come here instead of hillside or Mayfair is typically to go to one of the food places with friends or walmart.
Parking was very very busy. People were rude. The lady who helped was sending me to the wrong area and was no help. Took forever to get out of the parking lot.
Was a lil busy but was open an people usually are civilized
Pretty busy place. If you're buying groceries at Walmart you should park on the same level, as there escalator goes down alot. Might have to carry your stuff downstairs if you don't want to wait 10 mins for an elevator
Huge. Two levels. Situated in a beautiful shopping area.
It is a cute little mall with cute little stores. I love the outside music and all of the restaurants it has to offer. The only reason I did not give it five stars is because it can be a confusing mall to navigate, otherwise it is a lovely mall.
Great selection of shops ranging from crafts, electronics, groceries, restaurants, liquor, and clothing. Layout is a parking nightmare during busy times, I'd suggest parking in the parking lot underneath whole foods, you can get pretty close to the outdoor escalators from there without the crazy traffic or constant pedestrians.
Way big!! So big! The shopping centre gets quite crowded so I only go at 7 am when you can shop unimpeded. Nice shopping centre with everything you can imagine, including clothes.
Cant beat the prices at Walmart. Easy access by transit.
Very confusing. Parking area does not have proper signs. Workers that i asked acted as if they were doing me a favour to give directions. Elevator is much too slow. There should be a large sign with all areas clearly indicated right at the beginning of parking areas. You now have to drive all over the place to find the store you wanted.
Hey Buddies ???? it's been a great time!!!
I don't remember if this was the trip I made to Wal-Mart or to the Shoppers Drug Mart. The Shoppers here is open 24 hrs so that's handy. The last time I was at Wal-Mart I Used their self checkout because the lines were so long. I spent $187.00 and I had bought 3 of their magazines that are supposed to be for $10. I couldn't see where The credit had come off when I rang them in and the clerk that was overseeing the Self checkouts told me it would come off at the end. When I paid my receipt didn't Completely print out, it had the bottom cut off, so I couldn't verify the credit. I called The clerk over and she told me to go customer service, where they told me that now That someone else was using it I couldn't get a reprint and to come back the next day To see a supervisor, which of course I didn't do. Don't use the Self checkout!.
Rebalance is very safety protocol conscious. They are a medical office of course. High quality care.
A variety of shops to check out, however traffic and parking can be hectic combined with lots of walking required if you want to visit multiple (outside) shops.
Well like this place but the pedestrian walk...the old road to connect the stores for easy access.now I have to go around the block to get from Walmart to best buy
The Uptown Mall, a thought not as massive as the Mayfair Mall, does have a collection of interesting shops. It is very easy to get to either by foot, public transit or car. There is lots of underground parking. The design of the mall makes it very pedestrian friendly. It is anchored by a large Wal Mart Superstore.
Wal Mart: On Tues. Night Nov. 27/19 around 8 pm. The two ladies in customer service were very helpful. One was able to find a case of Maxwell coffee for me in the back stockroom. Much appreciated.
I suggest you not shop here for long period especially if your from out of town this propert is considered private property and you will be given a 59.00 parking ticket I suggest and will write to head office of Walmart and see if they move there store away from uptown to a Mall we’re it is free parking.
I love uptown. The only downside is there it’s an outdoor mall and so you must brave the elements from store to store. Otherwise it has great shops, a variety of restaurants and food shopping choices. It’s my neighbourhood mall.
Beautiful promenade. The little igloos for put door seating are great, and its convenient to graba few groceries from Walmart after I've hit the gym at Steve Nash.
Love going here for Wal mart, petsmart and forever 21. There's always parking (if it's super busy best buys parking is always empty and there's a convenient elevator), excellent layout (except whole foods is awkwardly places). Whole foods is awesome, I actually find good deals there and the take out is amazing. I used to joke about it after seeing memes on the internet. Now I'm a fan :p
Wal-Mart is as expected. It is a large discount department/grocery store. Uptown centre has all sorts of stores from pet stores to clothIng stores to kiosks for phones and coffee. Prices vary from sales to expensive. Parking can be a problem. Having only one elevator to service the entire complex on the outside makes for some long waits. Escaltors are good but baby buggies and some elderly cannot use them. Also many people prefer taking their groceries to their cars via the elevator instead of the escalator. The library branch is smaller than the old one across the street and again, access is by stairs or an elevator.
So much of it is in construction. The escalator from the entrance to the lower level was broken. We stopped in here to use the stalls and one of them was disgusting. I think mall bathrooms are capable of being cleaner than this.
Always clean , lovely place,,but confusing underground parking
The Walmart at this location is gargantuan! It is two floors and has a wide selection of goods. (There is even a store inside the Walmart! Customer service in the mini store is atrocious, so avoid it, if you can.) The Walmart grocery section is expansive and relatively easy to navigate, but the electronics section seems understaffed everytime we are there. There are visible employees all over the building, but sometimes/often they don't treat each other very well. It's not easy to witness and has occurred on EVERY visit we've made to this location. We enjoy heading to Uptown, but do so, in measured bursts.
Mixed big-box and many smaller stores. Very busy, lots of parking, but difficult getting and especially out. Decor/motif very eclectic, busy, aesthetically unpleasant.
Walmart is busy but has some good deals. The Pioneer woman products are fab. I like shopping at local stores but sometimes saving money is paramount. Melanie Lyne has great clothing but wait for markdowns. They do happen. Charming Charlie's has some beautiful well priced accessories. Michael's is amazing but wait for specials.
Fix your chargers. Look at reviews on PlugShare. I spent over an hour trying to hook up to your ChargePoint and Greenlots chargers. I went next door to Saanich center and had charging going in 2 mins. You don't want to have a reputation for having chargers that are never working. I literally go shopping at your mall because you have level 2 and level 3 chargers I tried reconnecting and connecting like 6 different times per charger and nothing worked. I tried to report the charger on ChargePoint app, but it wouldn't report. I tried calling the number and could barely make out what the operator was saying because of bad phone connection. He turned it on and it still didn't work.
Great space for shopping, tons of underground parking, easily accessible by bus. Very easy to find your way around, lots of dining options for different time constraints/budgets. Truly a place anyone and everyone can enjoy. Best "mall" in Victoria by far
A decent mall with a good variety of restaurants and shops. Including Walmart, a pet store, Michael's and many more. Good amount of parking both above and underground. The split level layout is the only thing that is slightly weird. Very convenient to get to using the bus system as well.
Good open air mall. Good shops. Good variety of people. Something for everyone. Excellent outdoor space to just spend time in. There's a fountain for kids to play in the summer and they do a Santa's workshop around xmas. Free special events throughout the year like fashion nights. They set up empty retail space with cool backdrops for people to take photos in. It's just an open air mall but with some effort they have made it a little bit of a destination.
I'd give 5 out of 5 stars but do to myself, friends and family all having a bad experiences sadly do to their "security" around uptown... Any store there will get a slashed rating. I won't go there not just because of my bad experience (approached at night from behind pictures swiftly taken without even an intro. So creepy and sneakily all while just casually looking at the flowers as the landscaping this year was blessed with Cala Lillie's.) I was harshly accused of theft with no such proof. The guard was rude, invasive, sneaky, threatening and hypervigilant all while his false accusations sent me into a whirlwind of anxiety. He made very judgmental statements that were filled with descrimination towards the poor, homeless, drug addicted, mentally ill basically the "pests" that apparently caused him to make those bad choices in harassing me that night... he claims he thought I was one of "those."
Great place to shop almost everything
Uptown in Victoria is a wonderful place. You can spend the entire day. There are places for kids to enjoy in the water. You get the best Ice creams there the Parachute Ice cream. And also very nice Chocolates. The whole foods is very nice at uptown you get good sandwiches and lot of other things there. Good place to shop for clothes you also have Walmart there on the whole great place to go.
Nice mall with pretty much all you can ask for. Biggest issues that I found are the entryways for vehicles. Seems like a bit of a cluster. I wish more thought went into that.
