You will see all the opinions of real people like you who are using the products of The Bay Centre (Mall) in the area of British Columbia (Canada).
At the present the firm receives a score of 4 stars out of 5 and the score has been based on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that its rating is quite positive, and it is founded on a very high number of feddbacks, so we may say that the score is very accurate. If people have bothered to value when they are pleased, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to put evaluations when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Mall is included in the category of Shopping mall.
A tiny mall with public seating to rest your feet while shopping with restroom facilities . Nice place to shop
Very nice place to shop, the employees i spoke to were all very kind and helpful in all the stores!
Awesome food court and lots of store selection to buy anything and everything you need! 5 stars.
A hidden gem. This mall offers a great variety of stores and extensive food options, from stand alone restaurants to a quick bite at food court. The mall is well maintained. My wife enjoys the skin creams from a store on the lower level called Celestolite.
What can you say about the bay Center that people don't know . If you live in Victoria you been to the bay Center and not just to go to the bay . It's like a community under glass lol
Place needs to offer a bit more exciting stuff that makes it worth the visit, most malls becoming derelict because of a failure to adapt and adjust to customer needs
This is a nice mall to shop in all year round but during the Christmas season, they go all out. Beautiful and creatively decorated Christmas trees on 3 levels. Soothing and talented musicians performing near the winter wonderland area. So glad I did not miss being there. So worth it.
I really like that this place has many different stores, easy access with a stroller... and in the middle of the town.
I love this place. Everything you need, just downtown right here.
The Bell store there is sending people fabricated bills. I got a $701
Good mall spread out on four floors in no the best way. Convenient because it's downtown and it has good shops.
The mall can have better organization and directions. There aren't many options available in food court
Great place but a bit small for the downtown shopping mall. Has a food court with so-so food. Opa is best.
Beautiful building and great location...if you can walk there. Parking is expensive. The store selection isn't great and you can tell the rent is expensive as there is constant turnover.
This mall is sooooo cool. Very eclectic design on the inside and conspicuous from the exterior. A wide selection of stores and great place to hang.
Victoria's downtown mall. It's got a cool open-court design and quite a few different stores. It's on many major bus routes so is very easy to reach.
A big multistoried shopping mall in the downtown Victoria. You can enjoy shopping, multicultural foods and nearby entertainment facilities at a time.
The holiday decorations are great!
This mall is in a terrible place downtown. Parking is almost impossible most days and the mall exudes an an air of total apathy. The food court is a joke. Spend your time & money at the other street level shops when downtown in Victoria.
I love the selection of stores in this mall. They're are always good sales, and it's nice to be able to pop down to Earl's for a mid shopping beer break :)
An older mall. The recent escalator upgrades were much needed! Doesn't have many of the shops that I frequent and it seems more have closed since the pandemic. Hopefully some different options move-in and can make a go of it! Otherwise, relatively clean. Best time to go in is Nov-Dec when all the decorations are on display.
A sad mall in decline, a little like the rest of downtown. There are several empty shops and the escalators have been broken for months. When the cost of parking or the time to bus there is considered, Victoria's suburban options look really good in comparison.
Nice place to shop has alot of little shops located inside the mall. There is also a Starbucks, Dollar Store and a Purdy's Chocolates located inside the Mall.
Lots of shops and always cool events going on. Awesome place to sit if your a Pokemon go fan.
Apart from everything else thats quite nice, I'm wondering why its taking so very long to fix the escalators? That scaffolding staircase is scary!
The Gals at Bay check out are Awesome. The store was closing, no pressure and they let me pay for my purchase after the was closed for fifteen minutes.
This mall is right downtown. Check out the shops on its sides. Don't forget to go both downstairs as well as up! There's a hidden 'dollar store' down low. Upstairs food court has outdoor seating!
Surprised to walk in the doors and see how large this shopping center was. Nice variety of stores. Enjoyed the many Christmas trees everywhere.
Decent selection of stores. Also home to my current gym which offers free parking for members.
Probably the third best mall in town. I use the word "best" loosely. Not as good as Mayfair or Uptown, but better than Hillside or Tillicum.
Nice mall. Worked at the source in that mall for few years. Great mall security. Great marketing team. Lots of events. Nice decoration during events.
Well kept and clean, decent store selection, bathrooms are decently clean. Would recommend as much as the other malls, if not more convenient as it's location is more centred.
It's a big mall in a large town. You will find all the other mall like stores there. The food court is always cold and the medly of smells is less than appealing.
This mall is stale and dull. There are some useful shops of course but lots of empty spaces still empty years later. Overall this is the worst mall in our city.
Open 4 story balcony concept. Very nice finishing touches. Royal looking elevators that have windows. Has all the regular mall type stores and a basic food court.
Big ol' mall, enough stores that you'll find something you like but surprisingly small selection. No book store, but Chapters is just down the road.
The bay Center has dozens of stores in it and three levels! I enjoyed going to Winners to get leggings for my girls wine around the block and a couple of other Essentials. This was a great outing with a very smooth atmosphere, inside the centre looks as though you are shopping from bay windows from local merchants. You'll notice when you look up and see those built-in architectural windows in the centre way up on the 4th floor. this is I believe One Mall out of the four and Victoria city. :-)
Good selection of stores. Including independaly owned and chain stores. Very beautiful and clean, with lots of nice spots to relax after hard shopping.
Nice spacious and clean. Looks bigger than actual size but a pretty nice place to shop. Walking distance from most hotels Victoria city center
Pretty good mall with an assortment of higher end and low-end stores. Beautiful clock in the mall. Great location.
Nice place has good food especially the bubble tea has a few of my favourite stores and the Christmas decorations are fab!
This mall is full of great shops struggling against big box incursion and it's multiple levels and wonderful seasonal decorations make it worth the visit and exploration.
One of the biggest malls in Victoria. It is for sure the biggest in downtown. It has a nice selection of stores, and a nice selection of food. So if your hungry and you don't know what to eat, that is your place.
Generic mall that happens to be in a nice location. Mostly just the regular chain stores, which isn't necessarily bad, it's just not overly interesting compared to the stores around it.
I'm not sure I ever go here for anything other than the food court or the bathroom. If you like cloth shopping that's about all that is worth coming for
The mall is clean and there are a variety of stores. The food court is on the top floor and has a number of different meal options. There is parking below the Bay Centre, but it is quite expensive and you're often better off using either on-street parking, or city parkades, especially during the evening hours, or on Sundays. Not as big as Mayfair or Hillside, but still well located. Overall, a good place to go whether it's a shopping adventure or a quick trip in and out.
Nice multi story mall with lots of options inside, decent food court, and a parkade in the basement.
Nice Steve Pratt: I will write to you in the messenger. Tomorrow you will have a telephone interview. After the telephone interview, you will begin the trial period. I will send you detailed instructions and tasks. We will meet with you personally after passing the trial period.
Great selection of stores, although a little small compared to other malls.
A mall with chronic escalator problems. Food court is good
Convenient central parking, nice selection of retail shops and a food court to boot.
Honestly just don't like this mall. Doesn't have the stores I frequent in it, seems more of like... a touristy mall.
Iconic mall in Victoria. Tough to see all the turnover these days but I think it’s best days are ahead. Lots of changes and upgrades so that tells me they see a future as well.
Nice downtown shopping mall. Clean. Good assortment of stores Parking price has increased. No more first hour free shopping parking deal.
Urban planet and ear piercing and the bay clearance racks all great prices.
Really inconsistent for who's open when, doesn't seem to be any consistency cept for shaterbox and the pie, and pasta guys great pesto from the pastablesbetween freelance vendors and when they will be there call me old fashioned I go through there 2 to e times per week.
A clean, medium-sized mall. A modest selection of stores. I rarely buy anything here but I love passing through in the winter to see the Christmas trees.
Biggest department store in the city! there are several floors to shop...from jewelry, colognes, shoes, luggage, chic home furnishings, menswear, ladies & kids wear, seasonal a restaurant!
I like the atmosphere, the clock sound, lights, and now beautifully designed for Christmas days
Great stores. Nice food court.
One of the less clean Malls in town, and not nearly as great a selection of stores. I still enjoy my visits, but not like the others in town.
Bay Center is nothing special. There are few kinds of shopping. The cleaning staff is always friendly. You can see many kinds of trees in the Christmas season.
Great place to browse for women's shoes and clothes. Also a nice location to get out of the cold in the winter and people watch :)
Good mall, good food court. Try the Korean place, it has some interesting dishes that are cheap. The passport office for BC is in this mall. There's wifi at the starbucks and many mobile phone stores. There's clothes stores and a the bay.
Good location. The mall has 4 levels and is kept quite clean.
Clean, conveniently located and free parking. Everything a good mall should be.
Loads of stores and services. Food court is great for a quick bite with large amount of fast food selection.
Can find most of what you want at this mall. Clean and well kept, it is easy to navigate, has a good food court (although gets hot in the summer!), and is right downtown.
Wow. Covid19 has had an impact here. A down escalator has been out of service for weeks now. Quite a number of vacancies in the mall. Latest news is The Bay is going to be closing for the next while and just doing online sales while they replan their business strategy. There were very few people there when I was Christmas shopping in December and again in January. I hope it can recover soon, as our downtown is such a special place to go to. They should try a year of free parking for 2 hours on weekends under the mall to try to encourage locals to visit the Bay Center.
Parking here is very much overpriced and the place is overrun with drugged out homeless people. You're much better off going to a different mall instead. Mayfair and Hillside are far better choices.
So nice during night
It's alright if you know the store is in there & they have your size ect. Not worth being around so many people. Ran in & out and held my breath.????
Isn't open late enough for a five star review, and I'd appreciate Vietnamese food in the food court. Aside from that, decor is bright and cheery, they often have community art challenges, and there are a good balance of stores for what I tend to be in the market for.
Me and my wife visited bay center for cosmetics. We found a very recommended staff of "ESTEE LAUDER" her name is "Arisa". She was a very knowledgeable and helpful person we have ever met.. The way she helped us out is incredible..we love to visit again. Thank you Arisa for your great help..
My favourite mall of all. Nice holiday atmosphere.
A really beautiful shopping mall, especially during the holidays. The selection of stores could be better though.
Great mall, beautiful design, awesome food court, make sure you listen to the clock music on the hour :)
Beautiful mall, the food court is fast and good! New shops in progress I see but most are really good!
Has Dollar store, Sportchek, The Bay, food court and your typical clothes and shoes stores.
This mall has a very nice stores in. Some are closing and there are lots of sale and clearence. The food court has a good variety and I love that Johnie Rockets attached on the 1st floor.
Great range of stores. Great when weather is bad. Parking tricky but stack nearby if you can get a space.
Nice mall. A decent variety of stores and kiosks but no pharmacy would be my only complaint.
It's a great mall with lots of good stores and comfortable seating. This Bay Centre has a definite buzz.
The Mall, and the food court are very well spaced. There were less people in there then outside on the street :)
great conveniently located mall right downtown Victoria with a selection if mid and higher-end chain stores. Its a good place to put your feet up and relax!
Beautiful and quiet mall. Great place for people who dont like crowds.
Lots of stores but many of them are quite expensive. The food court has a great selection. The Hidden Gem is the dollar store in the basement near the Fort Street side.
There are many stores here on the lower levels and the food court and washrooms are on the top level.
This is a small-ish Bay store, with somewhat limited selection (I shop primarily for men's clothing and accessories, and selection of these types of items is especially restricted). If you need a wider range of selection, try the Bay at Mayfair Mall instead.
Sherryl in the women's clothing department is exceptional at her job in customer service. She was very helpful and kind when I went in to find a birthday gift for my sister. If you need assistance, ask for her by name. She is a real asset to The Bay in Victoria, BC!
Very nice mall, great selection of stores.
Good stores, has a nice Christmas tree display every December
Very beautiful inside architecture, nice shops, lovely staff, also, good place to go away from the cold lol
old old old - looks the same as 25 years ago when it opened - at least this mall doesn't have too many empty stores compared to the rest of them in Victoria - needs a serious facelift inside
Selection of stores beyond clothing very limited. Established Brand's with stores here feel like miniature versions, with reduced selections, to counterparts in other malls.
Wish they would fix their escalator, it's been almost a year that it's been out of service. Otherwise it's not half bad, good store selection and a decent food court if you can reach it.
Most popular shopping mall around down town are, but lack if choices. Most brands are very old.
Many items on sale and at an even better price than other "discount" clothing stores in my opinion. Good quality brands and fresh styles. Signed up for email notifications for flash sales and got one about a one day 40% off sale. Always …
A great resource downtown. Surprising services like seamstress, manicures; the Bay always has amazing sales and a bird’s eye views from their tea and sandwich shop on the top floor. I’ve heard good reviews of authentic offerings at the food court. Visit Migration for locally crafted clothes and objects.
Barely any stores. The elevator has not run for over a year.
Overall a nice and clean mall...but its a mall. Not a huge fan of the multiple levels at all. I enjoy Woodgrove Centre in Nanaimo far better as its all on one level.
Great selection of stores and good place for a quick snack while shopping.
The Christmas tree display
Beautiful mall. I especially love going here at Christmas time to look at all the lights and Christmas tree displays.
Love the food court selections and has a wide variety of stores to pick from.
The most central location of Victoria for most of your casual meetings, especially if you are new to Victoria. Has a great ice cream store on one of its sides.
large enough mall but i don't shop at ever store, and the food court is pretty good with fair variety of food to choose from.
A nice small cozy mall in the heart of Downtown. Quite a few stores to shop at and then there's the food court with not very good options to eat but it does the job.
Clean and nice mall with a lot of Christmas decorations. Public washrooms available.
Floor layout was confusing with use to elevator..
Love love coming here when we are in Victoria!
Love the dollar store, and the staff at the Source are amazing. The Bay is the best department store, and you can't beat the location! Not to mention it's a really beautiful looking mall.
Very clean mall. Decent customer service in each of the stores. The WINNERS storw here has a great selection
I like the large glass window ceiling. Reminds me of the Toronto Eaton Center. The urban planet store has lots of great deals.
I have a lot of experience with this mall. It was feeling blah to go there. Not much to see and shop for. I was in there yesterday and they have lots of new stores with a greater variety. I hope they keep getting more like this because it is a great location and easy to walk around in.
Its an ok Mall to do shopping on. Be wary there a lot of stores that has closed down due to Covid which is understandable. The place is well kept and cleaned. There are ample sitting and stores to do shopping on. The roof and architecture is just magnificent which is a nice touch. Its also connected to streets that are pedestrian friendly. Which also leads to additional stores and restaurants. All in all an ok place to do shopping ????
Nice Cousy mall in the heart of downtown, well kept, not confusing and very accessible floors
Full of stores of all kinds. A great place to buy clothes and get your one stop shopping done. In the heart of downtown Victoria it makes a great spot to meet and shop.
No employees to assist you, limited cashiers who are restricted for their brands that don't allow you to pay even though they aren't doing anything. Selection is outdated in Victoria stores with limited options. Did online purchases and porcelain plates came in a thousand pieces on 7 separate occasions. Spoke with management and they said their stores receive them the same way. Horrible for environment with all the broken items, shipping and packaging. Also a waste of time, money with limited or outdated products.
Grabbed lunch and coffee in the food court; outdoor patio is open and is used to accommodate the customers due to the COVID-19 restrictions imposed by the health officials.
Nice shopping complex. Passport office is also there. And a big food court
More of a place to hang around in than to actually shop at. It looks fancy and is clean. It is easy to spend a lot of money in there.
Alright selection of stores. Not enough for Men. Food court selection is very generic. Parking is horrible during the Holidays. Otherwise wonderful Mall.
Lots of selection in stores, centrally located, beautifully maintained space.
Beautiful mall with a lot of shops! A little on the pricey side but it should be expected being in the downtown area
It's an ok mall, if your there looking for some good stores like sephora, garage, aritzia, zumiez etc your better off to go to Mayfair mall, way better store selections there but this mall is ok it has a good layout and very pretty
Needed a washroom in a bad way and was refused by cleaner saying the washrooms were closed. This on Sept 30 was not impressed. Will be avoiding center going forward.
Aside from having some useful stores, this mall is super out of date in looks and lacks a quality food court.
Good variety of shops. Nice food court. Very clean.
I got lost hot women everywhere though
I'm not a mall fan in general, but the Bay Centre is an exception. Clean, bright, airy, with a decent selection of stores for a downtown location.
We were a bit hungry so we went to Earls Bay Center on 1199 Government St. We arrived at 2 PM and there were plenty of empty tables. The wait staff seemed to be all female, lovely and wearing little black dresses. The location is excellent and the interior is well appointed. We decided to share a bottle of Errazuiz Carmenere, essentially Burgandy, but not from France. It was rich and complex, but too warm. Rudy had the idea of ordering an ice bucket, chilling the rest of the bottle and mixing it. That was perfect. Kathy had their version of a Tortilla Soup and Yam Fries. Rudy had their Jerra Curry with brown rice. I had the Cedar Planked Salmon which came with a lovely spiced brown rice, a couple beets, some carrots cut length wise and only cooked enough to slightly soften. Everyone agreed I was the lucky guy with the best dish. Service was not excellent, our server was Alisha and she seemed to be racing to service either three or four tables, and did not keep our waters filled, maybe she was new. Price before gratuity was 99.40 CDN. Final note, as we were leaving the restaurant, we noticed the menu posted said it was Hawaiian inspired. It was a decent menu, but all three of us are from Hawaii and two of us are chefs, that is not Hawaiian inspired.
A wide selection of stores and shops to choose from. The architecture is very nicely made and the customer service text is as helpful as can be. I notice that this mall is very well kept and that there is never litter or even cigarette butts outside. It is a big task to take care of so much square footage but the Bay Centre staff seem to have it down to a tee.
We were visiting Service Canada, however signage is poor and we had to hunt a little to find it. As far as The BAY centre itself, its not a place I would choose to shop.
This is Victoria's only and best downtown mall. Right now it's an exercise in following arrow stickers which make even getting through the front door entertainingly convoluted. It's clean and has good public washrooms.
First off, they charge an arm and a leg for parking. Plus a few of my favourite stores have closed and moved.
Awesome mall, beautiful architecture, and plenty of convenient shops with great deals! The food court also has an excellent selection.
The watch repair place is not good if you have an electronic watch. Mine came back in worse condition than when I bought it there
Patrick, the manager, was ultra helpful & I’m older & difficult...he helped with patience & made me feel welcome (even though I ‘m not a computer person. Thanks Patrick
Big, clean shopping mall in downtown Victoria. Has a decent select of stores and a food court, but no free parking structure.
I love the food court but dis like elevator hard to get up a level or down because top floor And bottom floor always busy so that leaves 2 n 3 waiting for 4th and 1st floor clear up for the elevator
Good place to shop. Beautiful display st Christmas with all of the Christmas trees created by local business' in Victoria. Original Hudson Bay Warehouse- renovated and turned into the beautiful Bay Centre.
Not so much into clothing fashion. Good shopping mall. I like the food court and there is a passport photo studio next to the passport office (not to long wait on either)
Beautifully designed Interior of this mall . Always Have such nice deals except few stores where i don’t see any deals like for years but overall a great shopping spot for all kinds ages of ppl. Food court has nice patio outdoor sitting area which is beautifully built. Inside it’s ample space for sitting and eating. Waiting for more stores to get open up in this beautifully designed mall!
Lots of shops inside where you don't need an umbrella but parking cam be a problem.
Nothing too exciting. All the same stores in any other mall on the island
They seem to be going downhill. Several stores have closed and have been closed for quite a while now with no sign of anyone showing any interest in leasing that space. The food court is still very good, and you can bring your own food and eat it there, which is always nice.
The Bay Center is great when you live downtown. .lots of stores and choices in a beautiful environment!
Expent most part of my exchange in the food court. Small but has everything you might need or want. Excellent place to expend time at.
Pretty swag Goodlife but the selection of shops in here sucks, one floor is almost entirely phone kiosks which is pretty much like hell. Building was erected in the 90s and has a cool fountain so I guess it's pretty cool, but doesn't have any baller shops.
The parking sucks, but the shopping is great!
Nice selection of stores. Excellent location right downtown. A standard Canadian mall. Not sure why mall retailers are so much pricier in Canada than the US. It's got what you need if you've got it at a mall before. Check out the stores outside the mall downtown as well!
Not bad but could be better. No cheap parking nearby and quite a few empty retailers. Shops are more on the expensive side but there is a really good food fair on the top floor.
Parked in the parkade at about 5:30 and the sloth at the booth didn't bother to share the simple info that they were locking the doors in 15 minutes! I even talked to him about something and he didn't think to share this pertinent piece of information! Totally lame!
Good staff, lots of places to choose from, fun to play with the security especially the undercover ones when your shopping with your daughter for underwear. And she is 17.
A medium size shopping mall with food available on the top floor: chinese, new york fries, burger king to name a few. Free wi-fi(20mins). Various stores but mostly covers everything you would need. Various entrances from each street.
Great mall with decent options for a quick needs downtown.
Having to pay for parking just to visit stores that already exist at malls that offer free parking is a hard sell.
Such a cool hidden mall, great location.
I love going there to shop for low prices and up stairs to food court for a nice lunch/dinner.
Very limited shops and an overall disappointing experience. Won't be back. But nice clock!
Great shopping , but the homeless people are always outside the front door
The Bay Centre is, by all intents and purposes, a shopping mall. However, due to it's location between Victoria's tourist trap street and its main drag, it tends to act as more of a conduit between the two. It's a really pretty mall to walk through though. Make sure to stop at the sandwhich shop in the food court. The guy there is passionate about ham on rye like nobody else.
A lot of variety and the stores are huge. The food court has a good variety of options. Great location right downtown. The Goodlife is why I come here often
I like their building design and layout. It's cool how you can see multiple stories, up or down, while shopping on the outside walls of the mall. They've also got a pretty decent selection and quality of food choices within the food court as well as the lower level. I thought it's a rather good shopping experience. Luckily their center of downtown location also provides ample public transit to almost every where else in the greater Victoria area. Quite helpful to get all your new stuff homes, safe and ready to use. Thanks a lot Bay center. Keep up the good work.
I tend to avoid this mall, nothing really here, parking is expensive if you want to park underground and it's just not as exciting as it once was. Haven't been in a long time if I am downtown I usually just quickly pass through.
Quite possibly the dirtiest public washrooms I have ever walked into. Bought new shoes after walking in and walking out... I wish I was kidding you people
I could just tell that I was being singled out for being native an looking young so I had security following me around the mall it was very disheartening to still feel this way now in this day an age isn't it a shame
Huge mall in the middle of downtown, lots of stores and a fairly large food court with good options, also a passport office is located in the mall which is very convenient.
Hidden spot. Perfect for quick shopping for items you may have forgotten to pack. Staff are friendly.
Nice mall. It’s compact, but has the basics. If you need a watch fixer, you’ll find a good one right there, inside the Hudson’s bay department!
Pretty typical mall, I wish they had a few more vendors and limited the size of the bay store within to make room for more popular options.
It's a decent mall with a few cool shops, and their public washrooms are usually pretty clean.
It has more shops than I have budget. :) Parking is good too.
Jewellery Customer service was great. Bernardo at Mens wear ,The Bay Center. Very professional, efficient and kind.
Good food court!!
The mall has nothing really to offer except cellphone kiosks. Virtually no selection for men's clothing. It does have a gorgeous Christmas display.
Impressive mall with 5 stories. Balcony on the 4th floor with a small food court with all the favorites. Walking distance from many of the downtown's hotels.
Excellent deals for any budget @ Winners & Urban planet etc... But mark ups at La Senza avoid that place forsure !!
The only downtown indoor mall within walking distance from nearby neighborhoods. Mall should recover robustly post pandemic.
Arrived at 2:50pm on a Monday to renew my passport. In and out in 30 minutes. Filled out the renewal form online ahead of time. Staff seemed helpful to others.
It's a shopping mall, pretty straight forward. It's right downtown, where parking is scarce, but they do have underground parking and the first hour is free. It's a wide open, brightly lit, 4 story space with many stores in it, obviously The Bay being the largest. It's also good a decent food court.
Neat place, but in a region with a lot more interesting things. Great if you need to get indoors for a while and/or just need certain things you would normally find in a mall.
Nice environment and excellent to chill with friends on the food court, very expensive stores though (probably because of the location)
Love their food court! Nice place to meet with people and spend the afternoon!
Being in the heart of downtown it can attract the wrong crowd but the store selection is really nice. Inside the building it is clean and bustling however outside it can get pretty dirty. Buses stop right outside so it's pretty convenient.
Tons of stores! Lots of indoor and outdoor stuff. Food court is way up on like the fourth or third floor!
Great shopping mall. Very clean. Could use more stores
Beautiful shopping center with many offers
It was a nice place complete with all the different shops and places you can visit and buy. Food court was magnificent and it's food were all awesome.
Nice shopping mall in centre of Victoria
A hidden gem. This mall offers a great variety of stores and extensive food options, from stand alone restaurants to a quick bite at food court. The mall is well maintained. My wife enjoys the skin creams from a store on the lower level called Celestolite.
The escalators are not working at the moment - A & B Tailoring was able to get my seems on pants done within an hour, with great service
I like the whole look, clean and so bright. On the first floor Illusionist had a show, it was really nice a lot of kids was participating, even adults.
Not bad for a Mall, but the goods are over priced. The food court leaves a lot to be desired.
Saturday Edo in the Food Court, still some construction
Very cool place. Got all your needs here
My sister, cousin and i went into active point and Lucy was SO sweet and nice to us, helped with absolutely everything and she is a total doll!
Well located in the centre of the city, with parking underground. Plenty of shops
I love this mall because I can walk to it and it's got lovely stores and staff, lotsof washrooms, good food court, and you can sit outside in the summer the whole area is private so you don't have other people walking through where you eat, they have lots of parkades if you have to drive,,, but it's so much fun to walk in Victoria and there's a mall that caters to your every needs and if your from out of town or a tourist your very close to the attractions and theotels and the inner harbour
Not a bad mall, definitely the prettiest in the city and its got a good variety of stores
Well decorated. Clean and shops follow Covid procedures
Downtown shopping mall. Decent food court, nothing to write home about. Lots of shops, your sure to find what you're looking for.
A good mix of stores, but doesn't offer any special stores versus what is typically found in a similar mall. But the centre provides much atmosphere. The architecture is interesting with mutli level desin and open views of other floors. …
The bay centre is the Central mall for downtown Victoria it has some pretty nice shops. They also have a lovely centerpiece at Christmas time to take pictures with.
Nice mall with some main stores in it, its right in the heart of Victoeia downtown which is nice but overall quite small!
Nice mall, lots of selection
It is down town victoria. It is beautiful place you can find everything you need or want.
We did not look for anything specific for shopping. We were looking for food court. We were completely disappointed that the court was so small. Very limited choice.
Nice mall right downtown Victoria a walking distance from the harbour. Numerous stores are in the mall. Nice place to kill some time if you’re in the city.
Beautiful multilevel mall to window shop especially during the holidays. They have ton of decorations and Christmas trees everywhere. A lot of shopping options as well. Also a decent size food court at the top.
I was fortunate enough to experience an indescribably exquisite journey throughout the varied and wondrous plethora of boutiques and extravagant meal options! Simply lovely - one of my best-ever life experiences overall. I am very lonely.
Why are these escalators still out of service? What are you even doing? They've just been lazily boarded up for over a year; it's incredibly frustrating.
Great mall, but the Urban Planet and Ardene are too big. Gives the mall more of a “cheap” vibe.
It's very pricy here and there's always homeless people asking for money at the doors and following you if you font give them any money
Great prices!!!! Clean and well taken care of and staff are very helpful
This is a really good mall in Victoria! Definitely up there with Mayfair mall on the outskirts of the downtown area. There are lots of different stores to choose from, and it's a really interesting mall; the mall is spread out over four or five floors and it's cool to look out towards the middle of the mall from the railings of an upper deck! The food court has many good options, and there's seating inside and outside. I definitely recommend checking out the Bay Centre!
Nice little mall with a fair selection of typical mall shops. Worst service I have ever had from the manager at the ice cream place, amazing service and tremendously helpful at the coast capital insurance with Kassandra.
Victoria is not a huge town but the bay center makes up for it. ;) 4 story mall with a great food court. Accessible through a couple of different streets, great stores with usually very good deals. I spent a day here and kept finding some cool shops. The sign shop is what surprised me the most.
The shopping here is not great. Very few options. Poor store selections. Considering the size and the location it could be better.
Ok downtown mall. A little shabby on the way in, but the usual North American brand stores. Great ice cream on the lower level.
The downtown mall. Escalators! Elevators! Places to spend money! A food court with a view! It has it all -- except reasonably priced parking.
Great experience, you'll surely meet some friendly people all over. Nice places for any stroll.
This is a smaller mall than big-city malls, but the architecture is BEAUTIFUL and makes for a great selfie or photo shoot!
This place always helps me out when I can't find a washroom in downtown... It's a rather small shopping center, but it's clean and nice. One thing that I don't really like about it is that the food there is not very good, otherwise it's a fine mall.
Pretty good mall. Good hours, good stores. This mall is really busy, but is usually clean.
Formally the Eaton center this mall is small but clean and the cafeteria is a great place to hangout. The mall has some good store but lacks many
Many stores closed but still food shopping. Follow directional arrows.
Banking, Shopping, a new Winners store, Dollar Store, etc. so that I have a full spectrum shops to choose from. Clean public washrooms and my bus stops across the street.
for one thing malls are not my kind of place. they cost too much. second that place on top called the passport office did not want to accept my identification as sufficient to issue me a passport while they don't even have their own website properly running on the internet. this location is a bit iffy if you ask me for questioning you and denying you of getting a passport. so i think i will need to not rate this place as great. and the dollar store is a bit expensive. food court is upstairs with the passport office and this mall could use a better bank in it.
We just went to see the Christmas trees and decor on the lower level.
Great place nice clean multi level mall with parking food courts and shopping
Its a great mall, has a clean environment with a food court.
Beautiful mall with a good selection of stores. You can get pretty much anything there. I love the skylight and fixtures, makes the place bright, elegant, and lively. The outdoor seating for the food court is a nice bonus that most malls don't have. It's the nicest little mall I've ever been to.
Spacious mall with lots of shops. Food court upstairs has good selection. Free Wi-Fi.
We visited this place while in Victoria, and it is a great place to shop! the Center has just about everything you could need. Definitely a go to place for shopping!
When they have the festival of trees in here it's really nice.
This place is great it has atms on floors a tailor and passport photo place as well as a passport office many shops and is right down town. Parking sucks on road go to parkade.
Nice shopping mall with a fairly diverse selection of shops. The Body Shop, Aldo, and Sportchek are all nice shops to visit. At the top level there is a food court with different choices such as Korean, Japanese, American, etc to meet many tastes and palates.
This is the downtown mall, it has different stores on 3 different levels, a food court and there is a place where you can apply for passport on the upper floor. Usually very busy. There is also the Hudson Bay store at the back of the mall.
It's very Covid19 friendly & organized. I do my banking & pay my phone bills there. I use the washroom if the need arises; the only one downtown other then restaurants where you have to order a meal if ya gotta go. For me it's an important feature. While I'm at it I usually do a little browsing on my way to or from. If I'm hungary I'll go on up to the 4th floor where I can choose from a myriad of fast food kiosks. Service Canada also has its office up there; a much bigger and better one than they used to have. Then if I'm feeling lucky I'll go buy a lottery ticket down on the 1rst floor. My fav electronics store is across the aisle along with my fav dollar store.
nice place to go shopping great to visit..has everything you need from food to cloths shoes...and even passports
Great mall. Super clean and bright. I like how they direct traffic in one direction only, using the escalators. Making sure covid risk is minimized.
Nice selections of shops and boutiques. However, the escalators have been down on a weekly basis for at least two years. I don't know what it takes to keep escalators running but there's obviously gremlins mucking up their works. Security does a bang up job and my hats off to them.
Central location, good deals on things as number of stores are closing. Lots of restaurants, boutiques and souvenir shops around.
Great spot to while away afew hours...Grab lunch in the food court or browse the many shops....
Always clean, bright and easy to shop. Customer Service is so helpful since there are so many store changes.
This is a nice mall, multiple stories to check out. The food court has a few options, there's also a Johnny Rockets on the other side. Parking isn't connected to mall but is a short walk away. The mall is quite nice, and facilities are well kept.
Conveniently located in the heart of the city. A smaller sized shopping mall with a decent variety of goods and services.
Baycenter is always clean and besides mayfair mall, its the only mall in town with an underground parkade
This place has a few good stores but mostly filler. The food court has some interesting options too.
We had an awesome time visiting all of the little stores in the area. Some overly priced stores mixed with some tremendous deal stores for tourist souvenirs. Excellent service from most, others quiet and non verbal.
The place were very nice , comfortable and good for shopping..... Except the WiFi is not really good...for us as a tourist WiFi is the important to update our visit to different place......the food court are very good....
Sure does look nice in here
I used public transit to get to the Bay Center and had business to do at Coast Capital Savings. Many kudos for their staff. My dilemma was handled with extreme professionalism and having made an appointment the day prior everything went off without a hitch. The Bay Centre is your typical shopping mall and appeared to be of the highest quality I also did a quick stop at the Dollar Store which opens before the balance of the stores.
There's a lot of stores here With a food court upstairs that has fast food like a&w and others like oppa which is a Greek food place it also has a New York fries which have really good poutine a Japanese place that has good gyoza and a Mexican seafood place which is Osso good this place also has mushrooms places to get dessert and lots oflike the source if you want to get into something new the EB Games like the pretzel factory which is a personal favourite and purdy's and usually there is a 3D experience place in the middle of the mall where you can drive a car virtual reality and others for buy light-up LED figurinesoverall I really like this place it could be a little bit cleaner but it is still very nice to go to and plus it's downtown so it's very accessible if you want to go to other places downtown and there is a wheelchair entry with elevators & escalators
It's all right. Not really any shops I like, personally. Mostly just clothing stores. It's always really crowded, the "psychic reading" booth is convenienty located at the top of the stairs for all your scamming needs, and there's usually at least a half dozen hobos hanging around the outside. I wouldn't recommend this place as anything more than an occasionally necessary evil.
Not much in there interesting to this 54yr old woman
Filled with every shop you can imagine and centrally located right downtown. Great food court with outdoor seating.
Canadian Sun Chips are just as good as American Sun Chips. And if (as a citizen) you choke on one and need medical assistance, I hear it's free!
Good atmosphere, bright and fresh feeling, which is very rare to find in a mall. The store selections are more upscale and this limits the target audience for customers.
Best for buying clothes
It’s a beautiful shopping centre with many good stores
One of the most frustrating aspects of this mall (and also every other mall in the city), are the hours. Most people work banker's hours downtown, so why oh why does the mall so early during the week? 9am-9pm, seven days a week should be the norm all year round. But it's not, and I really don't know why.
Limited store options for today's current trends Awkward layout Needs to update the selection of stores currently leading space for a widee range of categories and to meet what is currently popular everywhere else in the world
It used to have more going for it, but the amount of decent shops and food has decreased over the last few years. There are better malls close enough
It's very pricy here and there's always homeless people asking for money at the doors and following you if you font give them any money
Good shopping but not a lot of cachet. It reminds me of a typical US suburban-mall circa 1990 feel. Small food court on the top level with weird access... A longer walk than you'd expect after taking an elevator! Not a great or attractive selection of stores or other reasons to visit. Location, location, location --- this is why it still exists. But for now long?
I feel the escalators have not been working for years. It feels complete after it is recently repaired, but often out of service.
The escalators are out of service much too often.
It's a mall. They should convert the lower level with all the empty shops to a year-round farmer's market.
It's okay. Good stores if you like shoes and women's fashion
Nice place to stay warm inside and look at the Christmas decorations.
Good place to take a rest or shop in the middle of government street. Lots of benches to sit in the building and plenty of inventory of good deal products.
There is always a great sale going on, well maintained, clean, I like shopping here when u are meeting friends there are so many places with comfortable chairs to wait in, one of the best shopping malls in all of Canada!
This mall has quite a few stores, but most of them can be found elsewhere and/or aren't that interesting. I tend to avoid this mall most of the time mostly due to the hassle and cost of parking downtown. The major anchor tenant is The Bay, it used to be Eaton's. The mall was probably more interesting to me when I was younger and looking for something to do on the weekend. With online shopping I can find better stuff elsewhere with less hassle.
Has great shops good food court and it's a nice quiet place to do your everyday shopping desires! Go there quite a bit cause I like Winners
How can I ever forgot The Bay Centre? When we first moved to Victoria and we lived in Downtown for two weeks, THE BAY CRNTRE used to be the favorite place we all enjoyed to hang out ! The reason why I remembered this name so well? Because the city we lived in before had a shopping centre called THE BAY . That was in the city of Calgary Alberta ! The best city ever in Canada ????????! If i can choose my favorite place to live . I will choose Calgary Alberta Canada ???????? strongly recommend this place to people from local or just tourists! The best store inside the place is THE HOUSE OF KNIVES! I just love to go there !
This used to be my favourite mall, but it doesn’t seem to have the same selection and variety of store as it used to. The facility is still good, great location, easy to navigate, not too big or too small. But it just doesn’t have the stores I’m looking for anymore
Good selection of stores in an interesting five storey arrangement.
OK atmosphere, mostly clothing and fashion shops, aesthetically appealing interior/exterior. Moderately good selection in the food court. A fair amount of good underground parking. Has free public toilets - which comes with the pro of that they are easily accessible, and the con that due to their publicity are often not that clean - if you don't mind the journey, the washrooms on the top floor in the food court are usually much cleaner/better stocked than the ones on the ground floor. Update - worst elevators in the city.
Great place to do some shopping, make sure you eat first. The food court sucks
Plenty of stores with great selection of options.
Doesn't have a fifth star, because the restaurant on the top floor has the potential to be one of the most popular spots for Cruise Line visitors AND locals but it is just not that good. Beside that, the Bay is accessible and has many of what I need for family and business.
I went to the lotto booth and the Elderly woman that works there ought to retire, she had no qualms of being rude and she thought she would keep my free ticket to herself. Pretty sure she is racist and thought I could not read because I am …
Very nice looking mall. Lots of food options
It's a mall. Decent food court. Second cleanest public bathrooms in Victoria.
It is a nice mall but the parking is not free and the store selection is pretty small.
Always liked shopping at The Bay Centre, except for when security follows me around, due to being First Nations????
Good shopping experience a lot of brands
One of my favorite places to shop at in the city. It has a really nice variety of stores to shop at and a nice selection of places to eat in their food court. There are so many convenient areas to access it such as Douglas street and Government street. Looking forward to even more shopping trips there in the future.
Many stores to choose from...but if all you are going for is a passport it's a bit annoying having to go all the way upstairs and through the food court. But if your only other option is mailing out your birth certificate during a postal stoke, going to the bay centre seems pretty good.
A good selection of stores in a historic building, but it's kind of ruined by all the oddballs who hang out in and around this mall.
Great shopping mall to meet others. Lots of variety of shops. Has a food court too.
I'm very impressed with the cleanliness of this mall in the middle of downtown. The security staff is polite but could be better outfitted and trained if it was in-house and not contracted out. Food court is clean and spacious. Good atmosphere.
Beautiful display of Christmas trees. Thank you Costco 256 for your cooperation.
Was visiting Victoria a few weeks ago. It started pouring and we were right by the door. I didn't even know this place existed. Very good selection right downtown.
Eaton's center is a fairly nice mall. Multi level and with all the amenities. Decent food court.
Eb games has most video games. Bay has good cologne an sports check has baggy sweat pants again finally.
This shopping centre used to be fun and great selection of stores. Now it has turned into garbage. Hard to navigate around due to always failing elevators, escalators have been under construction for several years. Besides The Bay, not many good stores are left. I'd stay away if I was you, especially if you're driving.
Not a typical shopping mall. They have great location but just a few shops inside that are worth visiting.
Found more then I was expecting to find each bend has a little bit more. The architecture of the building is very pleasing if you get a moment to look around and I spoke with a wonderful guest services lady, who had nothing but an extremely pleasant demeanor and helpful attitude.
The bay center is nice, although it is a little bit crowded and grimy. It could use a bit more cleaning, other then that it's pretty nice. I gotta give the security there 5 starts though as they have helped me out when I encountered a person staring, getting very close and taking pictures of my friends and I during our stay. They kept and eye out for us until the person left.
Great place to shop for clothing, most top designer brands. Decent prices and clearance sales.
Very nice architecture. Lots of great stores.
Be careful if entering/exiting on the west side, as The Bay tries to trick you immediately into taking their escalators. Winners had a bizarre number of Toronto Vs Everybody hoodies.
A nice big mall with most stores you would want to go to, but a very awful food court on the 4th floor keeps it from getting top marks. Central to everything downtown Victoria is its best attribute
Defiantly a beautiful clean mall in the heart of downtown. The lack of parking and store variety makes it slightly less desirable.
Victoria's peculiar central shopping centre. Can you find the 6 busts of Caesar? What about the 2 odd colonial motors? Food court on the top level has a nice veranda.
Although not a lot of stores but the Bay does have a lot of stuff to shop. And the bus transportation also favours the place. You can see almost every single bus to down has a stop here.
All your favorite chain stores and some good food options on the 4th floor food court
Very busy, as it's Black Friday. The mall staff were all working to ensure waiting was at a minimum.
UPDATE: 3 Stars- This mall has become a terrible spiral of stores coming and going faster than you can blink an eye, along with constant shuffling and relocating making it difficult to shop at the places that do stay. The window displays in the empty stores are just dismal, and even the holiday display this year is tired and sad. Looks like we’ll be seeing The Bay Centre in a “Dead Mall” YouTube channel soon. To finish though, I will say the cleaning staff are still doing a great job and the only reason I’m keeping my rating at 3 stars. ORIGINAL: 5 Stars - The Bay Centre is a really good fit for the downtown core. Always interesting displays or activities going on in their centre court, lots of great shops and tons of food options! Perfect place to grab a coffee and relax on your lunch break or for a day of shopping. The cleaning staff are all really friendly and the security team is super quick to deal with any rowdy folks. I always enjoy my visit here and look forward to their new stores being built!
Excellent Mall with lots of good stores and is very clean
This mall is located right in the centre of the city. One block to the east on View St. Is a convenient city parkade with free parking for the first hour and reasonable prices after. The mall has Hudson Bay as the anchor store and many shopping options and services.
Typical shopping mall. Nothing special. However the security team tends to be a bit over enthusiastic about their jobs and target certain patrons based on what demographic that they deem to be unwelcome. ... Just an observation. Get over it...your a mall cop.
Great location. Interesting building. Pretty Christmas decorations.
It's nice to hang out while having my booba smoothie
Great place for shoes... PS, the Bay top floor has a real nice lunch spot with a great view... Try the burgers!
Bay Centre is up and running. I think it'd be prudent to say that they have tried their best to keep to covid protocols. Every store (that I could reasonably see from walking through the floors) were complying with sanitation going in and out of stores. I think people should try to stay in the arrows when going through the mall itself. The food court is open as well, but you will need to walk down to floor 2 (Douglas street) afterwards, unless you are wheelchair access coming from government side to the elevators. Generally Bay Centre has complied as well as it can for Covid times.
I enjoy being there nice store to shop
The escalators were not working so it was difficult to get to different levels
Our 13 year old son was forced to open and show his bag twice by 2 security officers at both ends of the mall in the 20 minutes he was away from us.
Meh. Outdated and sparse. This place needs to be repurposed. Affordable apartments? Beer garden?
Well designed but they need more elevators or at least a quicker one and fix the escalator for Christ's sake!!!!
Great place!!! It's quite the neat little mall ???? when I moved over back in 2017 from Vancouver the bay was the first mall I ever went to...but ya it's a great place to shop and it's in the heart of downtown Victoria too which is a huge bonus
The only department store in downtown Victoria. Nice place to go for shopping.
Love love love this mall!! Great food court. Wonderful security officers. Some unique stores. I go there every chance I get!
Good visit, a lot of good finds and the shop staff are friendly :)
Tried getting into elevator and doors started closing.. closed on my baby's stroller. Wouldn't open again so I had to back out
Used to be call Eaton Center a Canadian icon until it went belly up years ago. The Bay is now the anchor store towards the direction of Goverment Street. Food court on top level. CIBC, Starbucks, Dollar Store, Bell usual shoes,, garment retailers etc. Super convenient location. Bus stop on side of Douglas Street. Under ground parking though not free for 1st hour.
Liked it better when it was Eaton center. Maybe its covid or just so many people not used to being so friendly and present like Victoria used to be. We have a course for people that want to live here that aren't familiar with Victorian excessively kind friendly and presently aware island culture. Its becoming increasingly disappointing being surrounded by people that are totally absent absorbed or give a blank look straight away when you look at them or say hello. Let's all just try a little and in no time it will spread out to become a bit more like the friendly Victoria we used to be.
Can't say this mall is really worth going downtown for. Better selection of things at Mayfair and the surrounding area.
It's a mall...... Not a very interesting one. Phone stores, a sport shop, The Bay (which is good) and a food court. Not sure why the passport office of all things occupies half the top floor also.
Nice bright mall with good variety of shops considering its square footage in downtown
The Bay Centre is a pretty good mall, lots of store selections and decent food court. They also take part in fun events and marketing for other groups in the city like the Victoria International Film Festival or new exhibits at the Royal BC Museum.
Super cool cafeteria cafe at the very top of the Bay. Chill vibe. Meant for older people haha or working professionals. Low prices!
Reputable stores with much selection in the core of downtown. Food court is good by food court standards
The mall ia amazing. Small but entertaining. You will feel relax inside. I love it.
An alright selection of stores but nothing too attention grabbing, the food court has a splendid selection
Not a bad mall, could use some upgrades.
Small mall right in the heart of downtown, nothing special about the kind of stores, just another place to spend money. The food court is average.
So festive! And lots of pre-Christmas deals!
Huge mall with pocturesc views from glass elevator and open concept walkways. Food court upstairs is a long escalator ride but it has a nice outside eating area to sit and enjoy the food court options.
Overall place was clean, washrooms, stores ok. Food court was lacking - not many choices, lots closed. Many stores closed as well.
Professional fast service. Support all lock hardware and staff are very knowledgeable. Stick with what victoria trusts. Acme lock and safe.
The historic mall on the very site of Fort Victoria features plenty of shops, eateries, and a very large Hudson's Bay store that i have remembered fondly since my Quatchi purchase on my birthday in 2009.
Escalators have been broken for over a month.
Very nice mall, however very difficult to reach certain locations
Located right downtown, this mall has a wide range of stores and a nice food court with lots of healthy choices.
It's a decent sized place and I like that the stores change every once in a while. I especially like Club Monaco.
Regular mall. Very clean and well kept place.
Well organized downtown mall. There is underground on site pay parking and a major bus transit site at the front entrance. Full food court is on the 4th floor and the anchor tenant is The Bay.
Oddly has things I had a hard time finding other places
Downtown mall good spot for break, washrooms. Cafe in the Bay has lovely harbor views and reasonable priced.
Parking is difficult, and can get smokey by the douglas entrance, but nice selection of stores, and nice to wander around.
It is a simple and beautiful place, but there is a lack of maintenance on the escalators, more options for shops, recreation and food court. You can improve a lot!
It's good
The Bay center is very nice. Very well decorated for the Christmas season. Very friendly people a safe place to shop as there is always security guards patrolling on a regular basis. I look forward to shopping there again. Keep up the great work.
This mall will be the place to shop in 2019...revamping and under great leadership! Can't wait to see the new tenants.
Enjoyed the whole mall...just the stores I needed that day
Nice nice clean mall very modern
The Winners was a bit of a mess and a bit small. I had hoped for more. Otherwise, a fine little mall.
Clean covid friendly mall
Not too bad not too bad is fresh I hadn't had to explain myself about being able to bring my bicycle with me into the mall but with some reasonable explanation seems that they have sports check in the mall who encourages you to bring your …
I went down to renew my passport, but forgot to bring my old one in. I raced home to get my old one and got down there at 5:10. The Internet tells me they are open til 6. Alas they were closed. They close at 5. ADVERTISE THE CORRECT TIME YOU CLOSE!. You wasted a lot of my time!
Absolutely beautiful, Great venues, and people.
Wished the food court opened a little earlier.... I was hungry! Haha
Layout and location are excellent, and it continues to be well maintained with a very good selection of shops.
I have to say that most of downtown is very accessible to ppl with mobility issues, but The Bay Centre is sorely lacking. Their escalater in the front is frequently breaking down and usually lasts several weeks before being repaired. Taking the elevator is an option, but if you happen to want to access the food court, once you get to the top floor, you will have to walk the entire length and width of the building to get there because of the stupidity of the way the passport office is located. They want you there, but once you get there, they don't make it easy on you.
It's a good mall centrally located in Victoria by major bus routes. Many great stores, including the Bay.
Nice selection of stores .... staff friendly to my wheel chair bound mother
Very nice mall with a friendly and professional staff.
A nice downtown shopping centre. Hard to believe this has been here for over 30 years now. There are quite a few stores, the usual Hudson's Bay off Government Street and the sort of stores you expect to see in a shopping mall. Services Canada has an office, tucked up in the top of the mall near the food court if you need to apply for your passport. Close to Government Street for more shopping and eating choices.
Great food and friendly attentive staff all for a good price. Ambiance was welcoming and not too Loud so you could have a conversation at your table.
This Centere is in the heart of Downtown Victoria. It is a beautiful Centre and very nice and clean inside. It has many nice stores. I like shopping there specially when the stores have sales. It is kind of odd to see Passort Canada office is on the top floor by the food court. It is a good place to kill some time and go window shopping if you have free time. It has lots to offer.
Terrible experience in Victoria today. No support for parent with child. Moved from a patio with small child by Johnny Rockets staff when we had bought food from Starbucks. Worst experience of downtown in 13 years will buy online from now on.
This mall is in a great location, though parking can be a challenge. Use the services offered as well as retail shops.
Beautiful clean mall
I enjoyed the mall. I'm in a wheelchair and found access no problem. Some stores had their stands to close together which made it tough to get around.
A dt mall …. 35yrs old… crazy street people in abundance… the ol gurl is starting to show the wear & tear
Lots of different stores. Almost everything you need except a grocery store. Great food court on the top level. Elevators and escalators to every floor.
Nice mini mall for shopping. Close to the waterfront and down town. Over all a great place to stop in.
Great place, best public toilets by preference, good food stalls however moderately priced but that's as expected. Good range of shops, and easy to get around. Staff and security are friendly, there is plenty of space on all floors to sit down.
A great shopping centre in the downtown. Service Canada is also situated there. You can visit this place toapply for a passport and SIN. Has a good court with quite a few good options. Has a children's hospital and a dental hospital. Houses a fitness centre as well.
On vacation in Victoria, Canada. My wife and I always stop at the Bay Center to shop and look around. Yes, it's a mall, but they have a few shops that the states doesn't have.
Awfully abusive staff members. I returned a pair of socks and left the store when I was assaulted by a plane closed employee who accused me of stealing. Of course I never had a reason to do such a ridiculous act and definitely didn’t steal a thing. Stay away from the bay unless you want to be falsely accused of theft
If you can dodge all the panhandlers etc...it's an ok place. Better off going to one of the malls
Not a bad place to get some shopping done.
Good variety of shops. More upscale shops then other malls in town.
Today while I was waiting for food at Sizzling wok I was watching an elderly man chopping broccoli in the back with a large butcher knife. Then a piece dropped on the floor so I waited to see what happened next not moving in line and he just picked up the broccoli and put it back into the pile of hopefully clean broccoli. I have worked in many kitchens and you always wash it before chopping so I am assuming that was good enough standards for them I recommend skipping them if you do not like floor Broccoli
Great phone techi Duncan beside yhe Bay in the booth upstairs
Great mall with a huge selection. Has everything you need in one place. Very clean and modern.
Covid spacing good. Most shops open. Clean and well lit.
Came here to go to the passport office, always have liked the bay centre. They decorate real nice for Christmas, worth it for the shopping, window shopping or just to look at the centres trees.
This mall is so outdated... shops are very limited.. the location is the best thing about it. The food court is horrible.
With all the repairs on escalators going on, too difficult to find your way around all levels. Left without finding what I was looking for.
It's a typical downtown business... Homeless people bathing in the bathrooms, people sleeping along the outer perimeter, and a plain Jane food court. Meh.
Nice and clean all the stores I visited were very polite and helpful some were even fun
I enjoy a good wander through this mall. Never as many shops as I think there are, and I always think I will buy lots but never end up finding anything I like
I love this mall so much more now that it has a Winners! It's a shame that the stairs, escalators and elevators are often out of order... it's very difficult to get around.
Would be nice if they repaired their escalators before 2021.They have been out of order to the food floor nearly the entire Christmas season through to the New Year. Hope those businesses are getting a break on rent as they surely have lost significant traffic due to this.
No crowds, good deals last weekend
The mall gives a nice vibe.
This mall is beautiful at Christmas time. Lots of decorated trees to look at, that part is unique each year and fun to wander around and choose your favourite. They also do an amazing job with the lights in the centre of the mall. There are also lots of great stores and the mall is easily accessible from different directions.
Juice store in the lower section is great! Food court up top is also great.
Very few options for kid's clothing.
Great store selections. It is more higher end than other malls. Outside is a different story, it is filled with the homeless and that is unfortunate. I was asked by many for some money... It made me feel uneasy.
Winners was the purpose of my visit which culminated in a lacklustre burger from a place called Johnny Rockets.
Great for the whole family, almost everything you need, if they had a hardware store it would be perfect LOL
I like vay center alot its in downtown Victoria. Its a small malll but they have alot to shop and there is tree festival was amazing
There are quite a few wonderful stores at the Bay Center! Love shopping there!
Beautiful mall. Food court with patio. Shaw open works there. Passport office on same level as the food court. Clean bathroom.
The food court is way better now that they got rid of the ridiculous two people and 4 people per table
Okay, where are the staff? Please tell me because you can walk, and walk and walk until you may spot someone. And even if you do getting there attention is well , difficult. Go on"BAY DAYS " AND GET A BAY CARD. EVERY SINGLE THING IS 50% OFF, THEN IF YOU GET THAT CARD I WAS JUST TELLING YOU ABOUT YOU GET A FURTHER DISCOUNT , AND WAIT THERE'S MORE TO COME... IF YOU ARE A SENIOR (LIKE I AM) YOU GET ANOTHER 20 PERCENT OFF. YOU JUST CANNOT BEAT THAT. AND ON THOSE BAY DAYS YOU WILL FIND STAFF EVERYWHERE
Good sized, multi-level shopping center. Especially nice if the weather is poor, it's all indoor!
Excellent service awesome finds. Good luck finding them!!
Nice mall. Wish there was more to choose from in the food court. Layout was wired on 4th floor going to food court. Some signs on the wall would have been great.
Clean washrooms and safe, sounds funny that you even have to say that but things have changed in many other downtown former Eaton Centres. Stores are the usual fair.
A very busy mall and parking in the area is a headache. Fine if you arrive by bus, the stop is just out front.
Good mall
Lots of great stores, and a nicely laid out Bay store. Right in the middle of town with a large parking lot under. Very convenient.
Clean, big, nice food court.
It's a pretty terrible mall, Not many quality stores, Needs help. Reminds me of a random mall you would find in the middle of nowhere. There are a ton of empty spaces.
Very good shopung experience, clean and modern
Very clean and tons of business to choose from. Also a pretty good selection of eateries in the food court.
INCOMPASSIONATE. While shopping at the Bay Centre today I saw a security guard escort a senior gentleman out of the mall. The gentleman was visibly in need of warmth and protection from the rain. It was obvious that he wasn't purchasing anything in the mall. I approached the security guard and asked him if he would allow the man to stay inside and warm up for a few minutes if I was to buy him a meal to eat in the mall. The security guard was rude and he said "He is okay, believe me. He is not coming back into the mall". He didn't want to hear anything else, was arrogant and dismissive. Then he walked away. Where are we at as a society when we cannot show compassion for our fellow humans? I understand the mall is a business but I was willing to have this man as my guest, buy him a meal and a warm beverage. This was a sad experience, one of lack of compassion and a very poor reflection on this iconic Victorian shopping centre. I expected more from our community. Deeply saddened and disappointed.
A very lice little mall, always clean and Nicky decorated for the holidays, security and mall staff very friendly.
A convenient place to meet since most buses will stop here. A fair selection of stores, mostly clothing, and an okay food court. Outdoor parking is awful during busy hours, and the downstairs parking can be expensive.
I used to go there when it was Eaton's. There is a very helpful book store there and an elevator which is great for the handicapped, of which I'm one.
Good stores. Friendly service. Food court open with outdoor dining.
The place needs a refresh or redevelopment. We did not see any high end stores there. The food court is small with only a handful of restaurants.
It's a busy mall downtown but doesn't have a lot of shops. The bay is the main attraction.
Beautiful building, unique floor plan, but the selection of stores is limited. If you need shoes or women's clothing, then great. If you're a husband, expect to be holding a purse and waiting around a lot.
Found some great deals on the clearance racks. A very pleasant place to shop.
Everyone employed was very service oriented. It's stunningly decorated and we had fun doing some early Christmas shopping. Perfect afternoon and early evening outing.
I usually only go to the food fair and sometimes the dollar store. I wish the food fair had less Ethnic choices, they are way too spicy for me.
Not too crowded
Its a small and beautiful mall but not too many stores
I recently purchased a mattress (only) on sale - having tried it in the store (on the boxspring), it seemed fine. Unfortunately, on my platform slats, the mattress is much firmer and too hard. Hudson Bay (manager Deanna) policy? If I wish to exchange the mattress during the sale event (next few days), I forfeit a 20% restocking fee (+ another $75.00 delivery and 'set-up' fee, and a further $25.00 fee for removal of mattress). If I wait 30 days (in-home adjustment period), I am welcome to exchange this mattress, but only at the sale price that I paid (and not its pre-sale sum ) - there may or may not be a mattress sale at that time. The only comment the manager of the department could say is 'it's policy' and 'you signed it'. This policy works fine for non-sale purchases; however, for sale events the policy needs to be more flexible - which wasn't the attitude of the manager. Really unimpressed.
Good city centre mall. The Hudson Bay is the anchor store but there are many small interesting other stores.
It's the perfect place to meet up with friends and colleagues. It's on transit route and great shopping centre and food court.
Not crowded 1/2 hour before closing.
Love the food court. Staff keep it clean even with large numbers of people. Good selection of food kiosks.
The mall escalators are currently under renovation -- so they have become 2 way traffic as stairs. Otherwise use the elevators in the mall.
Lots of good shops & in a handy location w/banks too.
Easy to navigate. Bright, spacious and breathable. Amazing VR experience on the center area ground floor ~ Try it!
The Bay Centre has great stores. But I don't make use of the upper floors due to not liking the height. Too scary for me..
New candy store is AMAZING!
Very well built with 4 floors. I think they have the biggest Ardene and Urban Planet I've ever seen. There's also a passport office on the 4th floor.
Lots of stores, pretty clean, large variety of shops, food court, gym, the let you borrow strollers, lots to see, escalators and elevators.
Large selection of stores, kiosks, but a fair bit of repetition.food court is good, standard for large malls.
Great mall. Easy layout with lots of great stores. They have paid parking but I find it's full most of the time, a great mall to visit with a short bus trip from home. If you have a baby they have a wonderful family bathroom to change the little one.
Nice clean shopping mall. But don't expect anything different than what you have in your indoor shopping mall.
Good mall but some stores I liked have closed. So waiting to see changes.
Have always enjoyed the Bay Center. Lovely place to browse and to see new things. Parking can be a bit of a problem.
Not my kind of mall, but worth stopping by if your in the down town core. Great food selection for a smaller food court.
Three levels of shopping in Victoria. Stores are good and mostly consistent. Glad to see this is one mall that's still quite busy and wasn't hit hard from the pandemic.
Always satisfying! Great pair of Hey Dudes by Wally Funk 's at SoftMocs. Light as a feather and super to walk in.
A very good and big shopping mall with a lot of cool stores and a very cool food court and always very clean.
Wonderful stores... Great selection... Prices are reasonable... Staff is friendly!!
Very cool mall, it has waterfalls inside the mall, plus its very unique design.inside, if you are visiting Victoria , even cool to walk through get a coffee lol
