Poor customer service. My fiance and I went in looking for shoes and we couldn't find anyone. We managed to find another staff member who called for someone to help us in the shoe department. waited 20-30 minutes for someone to come. I went and looked in the women's shoe department and there was two staff members talking to each other and trying on shoes. I ended up having to break up them talking to come help me. The women was not useful and left us to help someone else. Waste of time and very poor customer service.

In this day and age where retail stores are being shuttered due to ppl shopping online i would expect them to at the very least treat customers well. Horrible attitude, went in to shop for shirts. Spent 30 mins finding the right size and colour and after finally getting what i want when i go to checkout i find out all prices are incorrect. The excuse? Customers move stuff around. I have worked in retail and if things are moved we usually honoured the price as its the responsibility of the store to ensure proper placement and merchandising. On top of that attitude is through the roof. Granted it was closing time but there was barely any interest in even talking or cashing us out. Left all the stuff,went home and shopped online. Never will i return to the store again. 2 stars as one associate was helpful all others were completely disinterested in being there. One was even cussing out another co worker in front of us. Keep it up wont be long before this attitude manages to shut down this store as well.

This is a decent Bay. It's feeling a little run down, but they're currently doing some renovations. This location is a little small and as such has no housewares/mattress/kitchen/etc section. They have most of the clothing brands that other Bay's carry, with the exception of some higher end brands. They always feel a little short staffed here. Lineups for checkouts, and registers with no staff in attendance. As well their clothing racks get messy and unorganized quickly, and they don't seem to put much effort into dealing with this. The store never feels as "on point" as other Bay locations. I returned a shirt recently for having several small tears on it, and have since found it back on the rack, unlabelled, three times and reported it each time. They don't seem to care.

Consider this Bay a walk in history with a modern feel. Items are typically high-end. Tons of Bay blankets, wool jackets, Bay socks, and other high quality, recently manufactured items you would have expected out of a Bay in 1950. True, the selection is limited. However, the feel is still of a Bay that intends to provide service and quality instead of just a convenient place to buy clothing.

Disorganized, not enough staff, everything is messy and it is difficult to find what you are looking for. No floor staff (gosh, I hanker for the days where someone would actually ask if you needed help). Five minutes and you know it's time to move on. The Bay has become very pricy.

I love this store. They have an excellent selection of clothes, and their prices are always competitive. I especially like that they have regular sales on kids' clothes and toys. High-quality for such great prices. The staff are always super helpful and friendly, too. This store in Kingston looks really nice, and just has an overall wonderful vibe to it. One of my favorite stores.

The quintessential Original Canadian outfitter. Picked up some Hudson's Bay blankets for $25 each on Bay days. That's a really good deal. We passed on the $7500.00 canoe. Maybe next time? Some other great deals here and for sure worth stopping in while in Banff

This location will no longer get anymore of my business. I'm currently feeling very sour and bitter. I Received a voicemail saying my couch has arrived... went down today to pick it up. Staff says I can't have it until Tuesday. This is absurd, Why leave a voicemail telling someone your product has arrived only to have them now wait 3 days. I worked in retail for over 10 years and I've never heard of such a thing. I have never call the client or customer to inform them there product has arrived if I knew they would have to wait that long to pick it up. I would only call them the day before or the same day they can pick it up. Secondly once again, i've worked retail for 10 years, I've never been aware of any retail store not having someone in the warehouse on the weekend. In the 2 Stores I worked, if a shipper and receiver was busy, then that's when the salesmen or manager would then take on the responsibility to help the customer... I tried to keep my business local, but I don't think I will be buying the rest of my furniture from this store location...

Love this location of Hudson's Bay because it's more renovated and modern than some of the other locations in the city. Product selection is excellent and we generally are always able to find what we're after. Holding back a full five stars for now because staff helpfulness can be hit and miss; one time we were looking to buy an appliance and the staff member seemed very uninterested in helping us at all. We ended up leaving and going to another location where we could get better help in finding what we wanted that day.

Their anti-theft sensors are very sensitive. Not too sure why but when you leave even if you didn’t buy anything, it triggers their alarm. Kinda start to wonder if an employee is triggering it so you have to get checked at the counter. Other than that, it is a fantastic place to buy clothing. Usually my go-to, other than online.

Womens bra section was very hard to navigate. I brought my mom so she could buy some of her favourite brand and style of bra (no underwire, etc) We found the stand where this brand is located but everything was mixed up. It was very overwhelming for her, as she will get confused and anxious in these situations. It was even that way for me, so you can imagine how she was feeling. We finally found some colours, sizes and shapes, and went to get a change room. The lady told her there was no room and to go across the way to the other change rooms. Okay fine, I figured it was better than waiting in line. Well I was wrong. My mom really needed some different sizing, and there was no one there to help her. (Since we are across the hall from the actual bra section, and I was also trying on as well.) In the end we decided against spending the money because by that time, why would we want to start that process all over again and with zero assistance. We will stick to the classier boutiques where the employees actually care about their customers and the products they are selling.

The service counter in the lady’s department has the rudest women working there. I have never been treated so poorly at a store trying to do a refund for a product I didn’t like. After I was told from the cosmetic counter I am able to do a refund, they sent me to the service counter due to lack of staff. The service counter simply handed me a gift card and basically told me to get lost. I told them I was told I can get a refund because I am not satisfied with the product and she yelled for the next customer to come take my spot. I will go out of my way to never shop here again, and inform everyone I know to do the same. Many other places have the same product with polite service to go along with it.

I will not be shopping at another Hudson's Bay again. Went in to buy shape wear for my upcoming engagement photos and when I asked for help after struggling to find anything in my size and shape, no Hudson Bay employee was willing to step up. It felt like I was inconveniencing the Hudson Bay employees and was told by a greeter that they didn't have enough bodies for someone to help me in person. When I walked up to cash, two ladies were closing the tills with 25 min left until close. Not impressed. Thankfully a rep from Hollister stayed with me until a manager FINALLY went through sizing with me in the underwear section, only to learn that Hudson Bay does not offer much in the way of plus sizing for women. I left frustrated, embarrassed and empty-handed when I was prepared to spend.

So so much better then it used to be let's say couple of years ago. Finally, there is actually something to buy. I now shop there all the time. I recently spent few hundreds there in just a couple of months. As I found things I needed. Great selection of kids winter boots! Got my daughter a beautiful pair of Sorel boots. Women's wear is awesome too. Great choices. Got myself Ralf Lauren rain coat. Upstairs is impressive too. Lot of great household choices. They have great sales as well. Just recently 40% off Puma WOW. Bought a few things. Latest sale was great. If you spend $250 you get $50 off! Store is clean, organized, not messy. No clothes on the floor like in other department stores. Great staff working at this particular location. Once I find out their names I will update my review. Retail manager of this store is doing an amazing job. My favorite place to visit!

The associates downstairs at the various make-up counters are nice and helpful. The associates upstairs, however, don't know where anything is and/or what the store carries, they snap at one another, are fairly indifferent to and rude to customers. If it was a one time experience I could easily dismiss it because everyone has a bad day but it seems to happen every time we visit including when we tried to register for our wedding. I know 100% the fact that it is incredibly warm up there does NOT help.

I bought a mattress from The Bay and a better way to describe my experience is that it is the most regrettable thing I’ve ever purchased and worst customer service ever received. My mattress is a queen size. I bought 10 yrs warranty as well. One area is considerably softer than the rest of the area. I’ve uploaded some pictures to show how uneven the support is. The picture was taken 1 year from purchase but only used for half year due to owner travel. This is their 2nd time inspecting the mattress. The first inspection was done 6 months after purchase but I did not put weight on it because I could not expect that they were brave enough rejecting such an obvious issue. This time I put weight. Putting same weight on different spots makes perfect sense to show the uneven hardness. But unfortunately, I DESIGNED THIS METHOD, THE INSPECTOR TOOK PICTURES OF MY MEASUREMENT, BUT THEY DID NOT TAKE IT INTO ACCOUNT AND REJECTED MY CLAIM AGAIN. They measure the amount of depressions on the mattress without any weight on the mattress. If the depression is more than 1.5 inches, then they admit there is a manufacturer defect, other than that, they will not replace it. HOW CAN YOU DETECT THE UNEVEN HARDNESS WITH THIS METHOD??? There is tension on the mattress surface and you will never find out the uneven hardness issue with their measurement. There could be many problems with a mattress. What they are doing is telling you that because there is no problem “A” according to their measurement method, there is no problem at all and they will not replace it. How can you believe one method can detect all problems? They just designed a measurement method so that they can get away from all the problems!

Online customer care is terrible and I would have given 2 stars if I had not met the nice people at the Cataraqui Center Hudson Bay order counter. They were super helpful in everything and even helped me solve an issue I had with my online order. I will forever be grateful to those ladies. But again, online customer care is terrible and ordering in this Holiday season from Hudson is another problem.

Worst customer service of any brick and mortar store in Lethbridge. Good luck trying to find someone with the bathroom door code. Finally get some help and i'm treated like a second class citizen. The way the woman in clothing treated us as my son tried on clothes was unacceptable. Lock me out of where my son was trying on clothes? With service like that i'm sure the bay will end up like sears. Never darken that door step again, or any other bay for that matter.

The problem with this store is that it's a little confused as to what it wants to be. It has great gift ideas, but at the same time, everything is really overpriced. It's got cosmetics, but the sales staff is too pushy, and very little help. It's got appliances, kitchenware, however they try to upsell you the products, stating that a $50 frying pan is on sale because it's actually $200. On the up side, the products ARE high quality, it's just the sales approach is wrong. Keep your wits about you, take a look at prices in other stores, and you will be fine.

Went to buy a swimsuit. Normally I would have shopped at Sears, but since they are no longer in business I thought I would have a look at what the Bay had to offer. I was quite surprised at their selection so late in the season and there was plenty of styles in my size to choose from. We chose a soccer shirt. Went to a cash register a lady sent us to another cash register. We get there, the lady decides to help others who walked there after us. We decide to move on to another customer service, cash out. Well, after at least 30 minutes of waiting we get our turn. The cashier said: “ the shirt is not for sale, it can’t be scanned” WHAT?! She will place it on hold for 3 days and apparently they can only have it on hold for 3 days. What?! Why is it in the store to be sold if people can’t buy it?! Poor customer service and a very unprofessional store! I am mad, we wasted our time being in this store. I felt like calling manager to complain but instead I wrote this review.

Impressed by the excellent customer service recently when we purchased several pants for new members in our men's choir, although I did feel one of the sales people was quiet condescending while assisting me. When I came in a week later to exchange one of the pants for a different size the sales representative made it an easy process and was able to give me another 30% discount because they had went on sale within the week. Worst appliance delivery experience I have ever had. The people who delivered our appliances had incredibly poor hygiene (body odour and stinky feet), our bedroom stank for hours after they left. They forgot to bring a hand truck so they stumbled around with our new appliances, dropping them and damaging our walls. They did not have any tools to do the installation. They broke the rubber foot off the washer and claimed it was not the rubber foot and told me not to worry about it and handed the part to me. They forgot the stacking kit required and when they finally called the job finished nothing had been leveled so the machines are unbalanced. It was obvious that they had no experience and did not bother to even read the installation instructions.

Shopping for menswear in Windsor has always been a challenge due to the limited selection of retailers and brands. The Bay store in Windsor has always reflected this limited selection but it's getting better. Recently they've moved menswear upstairs & out of the basement and have completed a new floor layout. We were in the mall around 6:45 pm bought some stuff then went to the men’s fragrance counter at 8:00 pm sharp only to be meet with two staff one cleaning the floor and another wiping down the display. One person at each of the two service desks who was also responsible for the changerooms, returns, etc. I felt so trapped in there, when I just wanted to make my purchases and leave. I also wanted to try on snowboots, but again, one person in the shoe department who was also responsible for her service desk. The one lady behind the service desk was not happy about it, complaining about all she "had to do" everytime she helped someone, so not only are the customers not being served, the staff is unhappy (and also wasting more customer time complaining). I honestly thought this place went out of business years ago. Probably one of just a handful of places in Lethbridge you can find higher end, designer clothing. I appreciate that it's an option, even though it's not my thing. I was joking to my wife it was probably only old people and rich immigrants who keep The Bay in business. Not sure if that's true or not, but based on the people walking around the store, it's probably not far from the truth. My biggest complaint (besides everything being too expensive) is the parking. It's gotten a lot worse since AHS has taken over a large part of the mall and converted most of it to 'reserved'.

I normally rarely write a 5 stars review, but this time I have would love to recommend Emy from Footwear department who have gone above and beyond in helping me find my wide shoes for my wedding dress. She is the only person who has the patience and knowledge to fulfill my needs, and the only person that I would love to go back to the HBC Footwear to buy shoes.

Great selection and service. I was looking to buy a men's suit and I received great assistance and knowledge from one of the service representatives Mabel. She knew her size dimensions very well and she had many wonderful suggestions. She has a great attitude and made shopping fun which I didn't think was possible. If you need help ask for Mabel.

Went in to pick up some new clothes for an upcoming event. While there were lots of staff milling about (mostly standing around talking with each other) - and very few other customers - getting any assistance was like pulling teeth. I eventually gave up, and went down the hall to TipTop.

Nice selection of clothing at relatively decent prices. Staff are friendly and helpful but the store is very poorly kept. Clothes are strewn everywhere, incorrect sizes on hangers, clothing racks are very disorganized and finding what you want takes way longer than it should. Avoid if you don't have hours to spend looking for something you like and then trying to find it in your size.

This review is not for this specific store but for my online experience. Shopping Black Friday deals online, I signed up for a promotion that I would receive a $10 discount code if I spent $50+ which I was planning to do. I waited an hour or so waiting for the code to be emailed to me so I could make my purchase before midnight (when the sale ended). I still hadn’t received it so I called customer service to ask for help. He told me that there was an issue with the emails and to go ahead and make my purchase and they could credit my account later. So I went ahead and made my purchase without the discount. I called two days later as instructed - still hadn’t received the coupon email - and another rep told me they would process a $10 refund for me right away and I would get an email. Well that email never came - I figured well it’s December it’s busy so I’ll wait - two weeks later still no email or contact from HBC. I called AGAIN to find out that credit was never processed and they finally put it through a second time and that it could take up to 21 BIZ DAYS to process!! All this chaos for such poor and incapable customer service?! No. I won’t be shopping HBC again.

I had the joy of dealing with Susan in mens wear recently and it was an absolute pleasure! We came shopping for a suit for my sons grade 12 graduation. We didn't see anything in the style of Navy Blue we desired, so when Susan noticed we were "hunting" she asked to assist us. It was incredible. She took us to a different part of the store where some very sharp suit jackets and pants were on clearance, and the color was perfect. We got a gorgeous jacket, pants, shirt, tie and belt for less than the list price of the jacket alone! Woot woot! My boy was thrilled as was my wife and I. You had to see the look on my boy's face as Susan helped him choose a sleek black shirt and he selected a tie...he was stoked, and time he will never forget, i guarantee it. All in all, Susan was one the kindest, wisest and most helpful people we have ever dealt with. She even did what she could (while respecting Covid rules) to accommodate my wife who is ill with cancer treatments. Susan is a truly caring and loving person, as well as amazing at customer service. You will never replace that with online shopping! Thanks Susan for an experience for my family that really made a difference at a difficult time for us. I hope The Bay knows how incredible you are, and how well you represent them.
