The mall is littered with screaming children that do nothing but fight and smoke cigarettes outside of the main entrance (which is supposedly a no smoking area.) security does nothing to manage these kids, who gather to argue, smoke, fight and yell

When living in St. John's it is an outstanding mall. If i compare it with malls in other countries it has definitely less brands and a small food court. But it is quite spacious and has alot of fun places like games and an IMAX cinema too. Lot of parking spaces around the Mall. Mostly it is crowded.

I like coming here vs the village mall for many reasons. mainly due to the fact that security is on top of it all most of the time and if people act too immature or disruptive they are always asked to leave. where as the village mall is basically always occupied by skeets and no one cares. more store selection and great food court. only thing that really bothers me lately is how long the construction going on in the mall is taking.

The level of variety in this mall is next to nonexistent. It's run by someone who seems to think it's okay to have a mass amount of lingerie stores, and have a dance store; but the dance store is female only (ignorant of half a populous of dancers), everything closes earlier than most people even hit the hay, and the place is insane during holidays with absolutely no parking. Mediocre mall at best.

Typical run of the mill mall in St. John’s NL . Me or my husband were able to find anything in the way of clothing . It does have a lulu lemon store , bath and body works and a very small American Eagle. Poor selection unless your a size 1 . I found that with most stores the sizes were for the very small.

Good place to go shopping and to hangout with a fair amount of amenities. Security seems significantly undertrained and under equipped. I have been told they have a strict no weapons policy which I am very against and it is also not posted. I have seen many instances of security standing by and not acting in dangerous situations. Overall great place to go shopping and hang out for a while but don’t expect it to be safe whether your planning to visit or lease.

Pretty good, one of the local shopping centers. Crowded, and often filled with Skeets, but the shops are good and the food court is decent. Also a bus terminal, you can get almost anywhere from there.

The food court has a decent selection of foods from some Chinese restaurants to your run of the mill Tim Horton's. The store variety is also fairly good with a few jewelry stores, specialty shops, clothing ( womens and men) and more. The movie theatre is also a great addition.

I've been told this mall has been renovated and expanded. There is still some construction going on but doesnt really interfere with the ability to shop. I recommend you checkout their website to get the mall map as the interactive displays inside have been shutdown due to COVID. Its got a good selection of stores and the food court was nice. Finding the washrooms was a bit of a challenge, hence the need of a map. Parking was decent and it wasnt to busy when I was there. The inside halls are very spacious and easily allows 2m separation. Give it a look!

All around good place to go to a movie, have a quick meal, pick up a few needed clothing or small houseware items, get a haircut, make travel arrangements, or visit the dentist! Note there is no grocery store at this location and some parts of the building are currently under renovations. Parking is free. Many metrobuses (public transportation) stop here as well.

Parking is always a chore. Just mind the cabbies when walking as they seem to think they have the right of way..... They are like that every trip I've made there. Bus stop in the upper area can be congested at times with buses parked double wide, making you drive in the on coming lane to pass them but space is limited so what can you do. Not sure when the last time the mall had a floor that wasn't concrete as it's been under renovation for a few years now. I'm sure the place will look great if and when they ever finish it. If you don't need the item right away....... Save yourself some frustration and order from the internet where it'll be delivered to your door.

One of the few malls in town, this one has been undergoing extensive renovations for a while and the new look is pretty nice. Parking can sometimes be a nightmare but the new parkade has helped; or you can save yourself the headache of circling and just park farther away and walk as it's good for your health.

The Avalon Mall is St. John's largest mall, and really the largest mall in Newfoundland. It is alright, with a large variety of stores. It doesn't really offer anything special beyond that though. It is literally just a mall, one that happens to have the 12 screen movie theatre in it.

It's getting bigger. Recently I have noticed huge changes in the food court. Not too bad in a small city. There are big malls in big cities but if you are visiting St John's for travel at least once you can come to Avalan mall. Local people spent time in here. It's small and cute. I like it.

This is a place that I do not go to as often as I used to. But it has a large selection of stores that I will sometimes go to. And the barber shop is both inexpensive and quick. I have been fond of the renovations that they have done, especially in the food court and the surrounding area.

Drove around for almost 20 minutes trying to find parking. Taxi cabs blocking entrances. Taking your life in your hands trying to get from your vehicle to the mall between crazy cabs, buses and bad drivers. Severely overcrowded and although once inside, it wasn't bad, the parking experience ruined the entire trip for me.

The Avalon mall has many clothing stores, a book store, a food court, a ScotiaBank Theatre, a few coffee shops and more. The Fog City Restaurant located just outside the theatre even has a licensed bar and lottery terminal if thats your scene .

The mall is your typical shopping centre mall. It's nothing spectacular, the average mall stores are located inside. The movie theater is a nice bonus. The parking is HORRENDOUS!!!! NO MATTER WHAT TIME YOU GO! I've never experienced such chaos in a parking lot. There's just not nearly enough spaces to accommodate the amount of people using the facility. A better layout and additional parking is DESPERATELY needed!!

I was in the Avalon mall today and a lot of people are still wearing their masks but the place is really nice very modernized very up-to-date definitely the most modern-looking mall in Newfoundland buy fur. Most malls are very drab places that are slowly disappearing but the Avalon mall is really hopping the game and they're very popular in the city and there's a lot of people going there a lot of people shopping there and I was visiting in the afternoon on a weekday so I'm assuming on the weekends it's a lot busier. Way to go Avalon mall you're really doing a great job.

Avoided the mall for a long time, but have been going more recently because of the new electric vehicle charging stations added to the parking garage. Unfortunately they are often occupied by combustion vehicles desperate for a spot, despite the floor to ceiling mural marking them for EV charging only. Today I was planning to go to the mall to get a gift for my nephew but I decided to go somewhere else when both charging spaces were blocked by non-electric vehicles.

Tim's service is great but the quality of the fast food places seem not to be quite as good as stand alone restaurants for some reason. Bathrooms are large, clean, but not well maintained. There always seems to be a stall out of order. Use the movie theatre bathroom if possible. Much cleaner and larger. Great barber shop.

There are many maps of the stores in the mall that can be easily found and accessed. It really has a little of every thing.

Great place to do shopping, lots there, including a food court, movie theatre and indoor parking garage. The Garage is quite small, but full sized pickups don't seem to have a problem fitting. The lot does have a lot of small spots in it, but is crazy big, so parking is rarely a problem. Do be prepared for the fire lane blockers and standard idiots as with anywhere. Mall does have a good selection of services and shops though

It's the Avalon mall, premiere shopping destination of Newfoundland. They've added a parking garage (for which everyone is extremely thankful), but I'd still beware the Christmas rush where premiere parking spots included crosswalks and the grass. Always pretty clean aside from the occasional mouse, and an enjoyable place to waste a few hours. The selection of stores is great, although it'd be even better if they found something comparable to Sears to take its place.

Most businesses are currently being very careful and limiting the number of people in the store and asking that you sanitize your hands when you enter. Soft Moc is particularly good because they offer sanitary bags when trying on shoes if you haven't got socks. However, it is very busy, people are not always following the floor plan, and, if you want to social distance, it's very hard when moving around the main part of the mall.

I have been waiting 10 days now for a response from Sears to an inquiry and comment I made by email on their policy of having cashiers recruit credit card customers and upgrades at their checkout. After receiving several 'form' type responses, non of which remotely responded to my inquiry I have decided to post this message. I experienced very long line ups with too few cashiers. Each customer was given detailed info about getting a Sears financial card. This is a common practice but at busy checkouts it actually results in poor customer service slowing down the line. I had an occasion to go back to the store to make a return a few days later and heard the same 'intense' pitch from another cashier. I asked if he received commission and he said no but the number of hours he would be scheduled to work would be determined by how many customers he could sign on. He said he needed the job and more work hours. I thought this was a terrible practice. I emailed Sears to inquire if this was accurate and have never received anything more than a 'form' reply. Is there a Sears rep out there who would be willing to respond???? you have my contact info.

Personally, I dislike this mall. It's often very crowded and people tend to just run into you. When I go shopping I prefer to enjoy my time and not rush around. This mall does offer more stores than the Village mall but the Village mall offers you the leisure of a less rushed shopping experience.

Ate at the rice bowl... nasty is the only word to describe the food and the service. Server didn't ask if it was eat in or take out. When i advised it was take out, she slapped the food in a take out container like it was so much work. Got home.. the food was soggy. It was not fit. Ended up feeding it to my dogs. I have no respect for this mall, and that's because I feel that I have not been treated with respect - by the security guards. I have been snapped at when I accidentally bumped into one of the female security guards and, despite my apology and explanation that I have no peripheral vision on my left, the security guard would still snap at me. One of the bullies that attended school with me is also a security guard there and this person hasn't stopped the bullying - they will say nasty things to me without cause or reason! I would put in a complaint about this but I'm afraid I will be banned - that's what happened two years ago when I put in a complaint against an older male security guard that would follow me whenever I came into the mall, and this security guard had been doing this since 2012! I got sick of it and finally put in a complaint and when I did, two days later, the security guard waited for me to come out of the pharmacy then proceeded to tell me that I was banned, and when I asked him why, he wouldn't tell me, he just said "you know why". That day that the security guard told me I was banned I went to my family doctor and got a prescription for an anti-anxiety medication - my family doctor saw me when I came in and said that I needed that prescription! And then, after I left my family doctor's office, I went to a pharmacy (obviously not the pharmacy at this mall). I passed in the prescription and when I did, I was told that it would be a two hour wait. I said that I didn't care and that I would just sit down and read (I was too emotionally exhausted to do anything else). Fifteen minutes later, I was called to the counter; they had my prescription ready and when they handed it to me they told me to take one of the pills right away - they could see that I was a nervous wreck! I am still harassed and treated like I'm some sort of troublemaker even though I have never vandalized, stolen, loitered, or done anything else that is bad - I know what the repercussions are if I do! It's because of this that I have thought about going to the media regarding what happened to me - two other people already did (in 2016 and 2018) and received apologies, maybe that's the only way I will ever receive an apology and/or not be treated like a troublemaker! Either way, I will not support this mall - I would rather order items online and buy my clothes at other places then support a place that has security guards treating me disrespectfully - if I had done something wrong I would understand that but I haven't done anything wrong so I don't know what the problem is.

Poor infrastructure and parking. Slow construction on improvements and paint in parking. Parking lot layout need improvement. Needs multi use low rises around it to help increase customer and tax base. Roads needed better placarding and painting. Stores are mediocre and not diverse in offerings.

It's the mall, what can I say? Walking through it in 2018, it has the look of a place that very obviously is not the nexus of retail commerce it once was. Stores are disappearing, leaving stark vacancies in the combined storefronts. The entire lower floor is bare cement, and whether this is the result of a work-in-progress construction project or an abandoned one is not entirely clear. There is a theater, but the arcade is long gone. If I'm completely honest, there isn't much reason to come here, and I probably never would if it wasn't for the food court and the Second Cup.

I visited Charm Diamond and the staff I interacted with were fabulous and professional. I also got my hair cut and the barbours were excellent and very friendly. I always get a great haircut from them. Over all the mall itself was immaculate including the washrooms.

No parking arrangements for couriers. Very costly stop, recommend avoiding any pick-up at Avalon Mall. Management needs to designate parking for couriers close to entrance. Furthermore, security has disallowed accessing the loading dock by the food court. Couriers lose money by having to waste valuable time. Very short sighted!

It's a large mall and didn't seem busy when we were there. Also looked to be heavily under construction. Standard big name stores and a food court on the upper level. Elevator seemed few and far away. Noticed kiddie rides were expensive, but maybe that's standard price there. unlike other malls I've been to, it's branched, so walking to one end means you backtrack whereas other malls were large ovals and you never had to backtrack. Lots of parking out front. Not far (at least by car) from the downtown area.

Had a great trip to the mall today. Got myself a new purse at Bentley. Had a quick service visit at Charm Diamonds. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Can't be that close to Laura Secord without going in and getting some Frosted Mint bars. I have been eating these bars since I was 16 years old. That's a long, long time. Work is coming along good at the mall, but that is why I gave it four stars instead of 5. It is very noisy while shopping. HomeSense is up and running and I couldn't resist a few things for my kitchen. I know I will be back to that store. By the look of things, the mall is going to be a great place to get a lot of Christmas shopping done this year.

This is my all-time favorite shopping mall in Newfoundland and Labrador. I love all the stores there especially That Pro Look, Sport Chek, American Eagle, EB Games, Sunrise Records, Cole’s Bookstore, The Apple Store, Bell, UDegzins and Calendar Club. Dairy Queen is the best restaurant in the food court, I absolutely love their Blizzards. RW&Co and Tip Top Tailors are excellent dress clothes stores if you want to buy clothes for an office job.
