I stupidly locked myself out of the house I was by answering the door to the pizza delivery person and the door locked behind me. No neighbors in town so I was screwed. After a few calls to larger companies, all with weird requirements, Frank helped me get back in and I’m ever so grateful. The cost to have Frank come out was very very reasonable if you compare it to breaking and replacing a window. Anyway, I would hire Frank in a heartbeat again.

I'm really not the type to leave reviews, but California Lock & Safe exceeded my expectations and did such a good job that I felt I should let others know. The owner (Frank?) removed a broken key from my cars ignition in about three minutes after THREE other reputable locksmiths collectively spent over an hour trying to remove said key then telling me it was impossible to remove. Frank then cut me new keys, and filed them by hand under a magnifying glass afterwards to make sure they went in like butter. This guy is the real deal – a true master at his craft. Thanks again California Lock & Safe!

Frank's a really, really great locksmith. The shop usually closes at 4pm according to him but hours are not posted and the shop will be closed from time to time so do use the phone number.

Frank knows. Go here first! My Toyota 4Runner key stopped working on my ignition and then on the door. I tried 2 other locksmith places which yielded no positive results. Frank not only fixed the original ignition cylinder but also made a new key which works also on the doors. Now I have one key for everything.

Do yourself a favor: skip any other 'fast food' key making service or automated machine in the area and come here. You will: save money, get faster service, if anything goes wrong, they will fix it. Old school business in all the right ways.

What a lifesaver! Mr. Lee saved my boyfriend and I twice from being locked out of our loft Los Angeles! The first time we got locked out was super late at night and Mr. Lee was the only one who picked up our call and was there in 15 minutes. Second time he was just as fast getting there and managed to unlock our door in less than 3 minutes! Nicest guy as well! If you ever get locked out, PLEASE call him!

Frank is extremely knowledgable and capable in what he does. Our old Toyota Camry had the glovebox broken-- we had locked it and it wouldn't unlock. We went to multiple mechanics and locksmiths and all of them told us we would have to take the entire glove box out and that the lock was broken. When we came to Frank, he took out the lock no problem, which was amazing! If you have any doubts, believe me and all the other reviews that he really knows what he's doing.

I have a restorations company and called and Frank said he could make my customer a couple Skeleton keys, i emailed him the info to contact my customer and he never did. I called Frank and ask if he had scheduled an apt and he said he would that day, keep in mind this was a week after i had first contacted Frank. still Frank never call my customer I will not use nor refer this company.

My husband is a locksmith and was recently hit by a wreckless driver which resulted in his work van being totaled. Along with complete loss of the vehicle we also lost many of his machines and a lot of his equipment. After a month out of work he finally had a replacement van and started to get back on his feet. Unfortunately some of the machines that needed to be replaced have not arrived. He went to this locksmith to make some copies for a customer and was treated with so much kindness and respect. California Lock & Safe not only made the copies for a really good price but offered him a machine to use until his came in. We highly recommend them and are grateful for their kindness and professionalism.

I arrived at their shop at 1:10 PM. The sign on door said back at 1:30. At 1:30 I called their number, they said will return in 15 minutes. Returned in 35 minutes - 35 minutes past sign time. They made two standard door keys but could not make a standard mail box key. Tried to write a Corporate check for $4 (for tax purposes) which they would not accept. So..... I waited about an hour in the hot sun, for basically two keys which I could get anywhere. They obviously did not want my Corporate (Apartment Management) business and their ho-hum attitude about being late and inability to make a standard key was a turn off. Since York Lock and key went under (great service, low prices), they are the closest to me. Will take my business to Glendale, this is my second try with them and two bad experiences. I will be surprised if they stay in business with their "screw it" attitude. No matter, I will NEVER go back and told them so in person, They don't give a darn.

He use to answer calls or voicemails very fast but I’m not sure what has happened to him. I tried to call him since I used him in the past a lot but he never answer my calls this time. So I had to use someone else. I am a bit disappointed since I started reading some of his reviews.

I’ve called him a few times for lock changes, being locked out, rekeying, putting slide locks on 100 year old garage doors, and I’ve gone to his business right next door to Galcos in highland park for making keys for what seems like 2 decades. One star that's all they deserve. Called like 10 times, they never picked up the phone, when they did they set an appointment on Monday, I called Friday in the morning. Then Monday no one showed up, I called again , they said Tuesday, next day some one actually came in and said that he would come back tomorrow with the lock and keys and guess what, I've never seen him again. Don't waste your time , deal with someone else.
