Originally called and they hung up the phone or the call dropped. So I called a different locksmith. Apparently Master called me back and I must have thought it was the other locksmith I went with, so then two locksmiths show up and I had to pay this guy with Master a $35 cancellation fee. Really frustrating. *edit* I thought about changing my review after the tech who came out here called me to see why I gave a 1 star rating. Yeah DUH you never serviced me because I had to pay a cancellation fee ????????‍♀️ That tech should look for a new job with a better company.

I needed my office door re-keyed and Master Locksmith lived up to their name. They were fast, professional and efficient. Everything I asked for when I was on the phone was communicated to the techs who came out to the office. They arrived less than 30 minutes from when I made the call, they worked quickly and did very well, even brought the number of extra keys I had requested. I will definitely refer them to my friends and colleagues in the future. They truly work like a well oiled machine from the office staff to the field techs. I also would like to note the techs that came out were very personable, kind and knowledgeable, when sometimes I'd expect a quiet or nonsocial tech, this is a pleasant bonus. My situation was taken advantage of and I was bamboozled. Like most of the other 1 star reviews on here I was quoted a vehicle key of $95 (no fob) and a $19 service fee over the phone. Once the tech Mike or Micah arrives and hasn't done any work he tells me its $40 to call and get the code and $45 to program the key. He also assures me that this is much cheaper than the dealer. Because I'm stranded I sign the paperwork anyway. I immediately call Honda for a quote and its $110 plus tax. No other fake random charges or hidden fees! I told the dealer the price Master Locksmith gave me and he said I was being overcharged. I asked the tech to stop the work but he claimed he had already cut the key. I was willing to pay a small fee for his time but he refused. He wasn't even willing to give me what the dealer offered. I have a 2008 Honda Accord coupe so there's no way my bill should have been $199 for a fob less key. Then I signed a bill for $199 even, but once I checked my account they added on another 47 cent I knew nothing about. When a customer calls for a quote over the phone they are expecting all possible fees! To trap people who are already vulnerable is cruel and immoral! I'm sure most of these 5 star reviews were done the same way but are ignorant to the fact that they were screwed over as well. I will be filing a complaint to the BBB and I may call Elliot Davis (You paid for It). I found out you guys did this to my mother too for a deadbolt lock for her home. She refused to pay and threatened to call the police after the tech gave her a price 3 times the amount she was quoted!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I had them come out to make a key fob. They gave me a super cheap one without the same features as my old one and charged me $160 for it. The thing is the key fob doesn't work properly. I have to unlock and lock the doors with the fob to get the car to start. Occasionally the fob set the alarm off. The next day I called them to come out and they said I needed to keep the blank key in the key fob instead of the key to open the doors with. I did that and the key still doesn't work. I continued to call to get them to fix it and they BLOCKED MY NUMBER! Finally my spouse called and they said the key was broken because it was dropped and they would charge $160 for a new one without even looking at the key! I am going to contact a lawyer if they do not give me a new key or refund my money. It has been 3 weeks and nearly $300 later and my key still doesn't work. Very shady company. Micah is the one who serviced my car.

Called Master Locksmith to rekey a couple of deadbolts. The price per lock ($45) was more than twice what was quoted over the phone ($19) and the service charge, parts and labor were not mentioned. The amount they charged ($143) was nearly double an offer received by mail from a competing local locksmith ($50 service charge, $15 per lock). Had I known what they were going to charge to rekey the locks, I could have gone online and bought the same locks new, install them myself and save money. Also, they only had half the key blanks I needed (2 of 4). What kind of locksmiths would allow themselves to run out of keys? Ace Hardware had plenty. Will definitely be trying another locksmith next time. Edit: If you happen to be reading this, please notice that the reviews here are flooded with 5 star reviews from people who have only posted one or two reviews. Approximately 30 such reviews have been added in the two months since I wrote my review. It's highly unusual that there are no 3 and 4 star reviews. Also, note that there are several other reviews that state that they were charged much more than what was quoted over the phone. Since Master Locksmith seems to be unable to give a reasonable cost estimate, I suggest you try elsewhere. Edit: The work was not done to my satisfaction, you didn't have enough key blanks to complete the job. If you can't give a reasonable estimate of what a job is going to cost, then say that on the phone instead of giving a low ball figure and then doubling it when you arrive. Or say that a particular service costs between $X and $Y. Or you could give free written estimates like lots of other businesses. Your response seems to be a cut and paste of your response to another review but if you'd really like to address my concerns, you know where to send a partial refund, $50 would be plenty. I'll post here if I receive it. (This edit was in answer to a response from Master Locksmith which apparently has since been removed.)

I called this place to come out and unlock my elderly Father's home! The original guy I spoke to was nice. Now the second guy ways extremely Rude! He refused to give me his name and quote on how much I would have to pay for there services. So he finally game a bogus name Dan. He told me and my dad over the the phone a price range from 70-120 dollars. My dad said the other company wanted only $80. Then Dan said in ancient $80! Give me me your credit card number! I was quoted a price of $35 with a $19 service fee and when the man came out, before even doing anything to the vehicle, I was told the price was $99 plus a $19 service fee. My total cost was $145! I was stranded 45 min from home and had no choice but to pay but I am very dissapointed that I was misled about pricing. Also when I tried to call and speak to someone about the price, I kept being sent to voicemail.

Well I wish I honestly would’ve known that my car didn’t come with a factory alarm system but that’s just me not doing research. I called this company last week to schedule an appointment for Monday 1/17 for them to come between 9-10am, they didn’t show up so I called them to reschedule and a technician called and told me he’d be at my house around 2. He got here and told him what service I needed done. I waited about 10-15 mins and he told me he can’t program my car since it doesn’t have an alarm system so I was like okay, how much to just cut the key? The technician stated to me that it would still be $240 just to cut my key?! It’s not my fault I didn’t know my car didn’t have a system built in. I basically wasted $240 just to have a spare key.

(I accidentally left the 1 star review before I had a chance to type all of this out and they have already claimed it was a fake review!) This morning the remote for my car wouldn't work. I thought it just needed new batteries so I put new ones in. I unlocked the car with the key and that worked but the alarm went off and when we put the key in the ignition it wouldn't start or make the alarm stop. I first called a trusted mechanic to see if he knew anyone who did mobile remote programming. He did but they couldn't come until Monday. Then I called the car dealership and they could only deal with it if I brought the car in. Then I searched Nextdoor for recommended locksmiths because I have had bad experiences in the past. Nobody was able to do mobile remote programming. Then I Googled and this was the first thing to pop up. 4.8 stars! Awesome! I called and a technician arrived within 30 minutes. Luk, the contractor, was nice and polite but was in an unmarked van that immediately set off warning bells in my head. He worked on my car for about a half an hour and was able to disable my alarm, but could not get the car to start. Then he charged me $150 for his time. I understand that the issue may be related to the ignition or starter, but it shouldn't have cost me that much for 30 minutes and no answer. I pushed back a little and then reluctantly signed the generic invoice that had no contact info because I don't like fighting. After he left I felt bad about the transaction and decided to read reviews (I usually do this first but I was in crisis mode). There are quite a few negative reviews and most get immediate comments from the owner that they are fake reviews. I wish this was a fake review. I took a picture of the invoice to post but it won't let me add an attachment. Anyway, if I could get at least $50 back I would feel like the situation was a little more fair. I truly feel like I got hustled. I'm sure this company as a whole isn't terrible, just be aware that they do not have a physical location and all of their locksmiths are contractors. Lesson learned.

I had a commercial lock installed on October 2, 2020. The technician was nice enough however a maintenance professional pointed out that my strikebolt was not fully engaging the strikeplate. I asked that they come out and the tech spoke to me as if I didn't know that the lock I paid $250 to install came with a strikeplate. Because he was being lazy and didn't install the correct strikeplate and chose to use what was already there, my lock is only partially secure. They tried to say that if it locks at all then there is nothing they can do. DO NOT USE THEM. My first choice was Complete Lock and Key service but they couldn't come same day. They are professional and accommodating. I will never use Master Locksmith again and you shouldn't either, especially if you don't like people telling you things that are not true as if you are uneducated. And since they want to respond that this is fake, I record everything.

Be careful. I feel like I got took advantage of! Needed a lock picked for a vending machine (accidentally locked keys inside while talking to kids at the Boys & Girls Club!). I called Master Locksmith, and at first, was very excited to hear they had a "technician" available that could pick a tubular lock. These seem to be a bit difficult to find help with. I found the pick only for $30 - $40 and new it would be easy to do. However, didn't want to wait the 3-5 days for it to come. So, went ahead and called the Locksmith. They told me the technician would quote it. However, after speaking with him, he stated he needed to see it first. So, I went ahead and met him at the location. After looking at it, he wrote some numbers down on an invoice and passed it to me. $450!!! What?! I told him I couldn't pay for that. He then crossed it out and said, "what if I do $350?" I thought that was odd? Just knocking $100 off? Once again, I told him I don't make that kind of money off these machines. I give the profits back to the Boys & Girls facility! "He then said, well, $250 then?" This is strange. How can the price go down $200 in 5 minutes? I was sort of annoyed and said, okay, let's just get it open. It literally took him 3 minutes, and he had the machine open. 3 minutes! He put a tool in (the same tool I found online!), shook it a few times, then opened the machine. It seems like I got took advantage of. It was also quite unprofessional. I'm giving 2 stars since they actually were able to open the machine. But, the service itself felt like I was taken advantage of. That was the most ridiculous $250 I have ever spent! **UPDATE - Still no response from Master Locksmith on my review. Watch out.**

Horrible experience, I called to get a ignition key done. They sent a contractor to do the job. The contractor didn’t even give me a price but when he charged me for the ignition key, my dropped. Highly recommend! We were on our way to the park. I loaded our belongings and the kids into the car. When the door shut the locked and I was locked out. My 1st instinct was to bust the window, but then I decided to call Pop A Lock. They answered quickly and unfortunately gave me the time frame of 15-30 mins. Luckily it wasn't hot outside. I waited patiently. Less than 5 mins later I received a call from Kevin (I believe that was his name). He let me in know that he wouldn't be in uniform because he heard of my emergency and wanted to get there as soon as possible. He showed up in less than 10 minutes and had the door unlocked in less than 2. Afterwards he explained to me what I could've done if the temperature was really hot. Our commercial building had 4 doors rekeyed. The front door was never easy to open. They came back once. Mind you, this building is unoccupied so the door is not used often. They came back once, worked on it, and now, less than a year later, it doesn't open at all. This door has been opened maybe 30 times over the last year. I called them and they said they could work on it but they would have to replace it and charge. I asked if they could put the cost of the rekey towards a new lock - they said no. I said I would post a bad review and he said he would sue me. Wow.

Locksmith was late arriving which is not the biggest deal but annoying to take time off to wait for arrival. Upon technician's arrival he installed lock as requested but the lock was sticking. I advised that I did not want to pay if the lock wasn't working as designed. After leaving for 10 minutes to call his manager he returned and said he would adjust the lock to see if he could get it working. 5 minutes later he said he had to go to his truck for parts and never returned. When I check the door I found the lock in pieces and when I looked out the window the technician just drove away. When I texted and called he refused to answer either. I called the main office and spoke to the manager who said he advised the technician to take the lock back apart due to my refusal to pay. I'm not sure what was worse the cowardly act of taking a lock apart and leaving it on the floor in pieces or lying to say you are going to your truck only to not return. Obviously the fact that this was under the guidance of his manager it does not give the impression of a good organization to provide a service on your behalf. The sad part I was willing to pay for service but wanted them to make an effort to resolve to satisfaction first, in this instance they leave without any payment, a bad review, and a notification to the better business bureau.

My wife called for help to unlock my teenage son's car when he accidentally locked his keys inside. The positive, they had a guy there quickly to assist them. The NEGATIVE: they quoted my wife a price of $35 plus a $19 service fee. When the guy got there, he charged her $148! She didn't know what to do because they were stranded. I was livid after she told me about their "bait and switch" and called them immediately. Every other company quoted around $75 but she called them first, before I could get back to her and they had a quote for less... so we thought. They did refund the credit card, but only for $50 when I THOUGHT he said he would only charge us a total of $78! They "got us" for $98 when we originally thought we were going to pay $54. Lesson learned... they took advantage of a woman and a young boy in need and over-charged them, returned part of the charge after being threatened, but did not return as much as we were expecting. Buyer beware of fast talkers on the phone. Call around to compare prices and get them to state their ACTUAL quote up front before having them come out to assist you.

How they run their buisiness is purely unethical. They have an F BBB rating and hire their employees as independent contractors so the don't have to pay employment taxes and aren't liable for anything that goes wrong. Workers are not allowed to give a customer an estimate before arrival and potentially will get fired otherwise. There isn't any basis as to how they charge. When you call they will tell you for basic services it will be $35 plus the $19 service fee.. That's a lie. The person that actually arrives will ALWAYS try to get away with charging you AT LEAST $139!!!! When your tech is finished with the job, you won't get a total if you don't ask. Master locksmith is hoping that you will sign for it before you realize the huge jump in price. It's a typical bait and switch. In fact, master locksmith recently changed their service receipt papers to exclude the buisiness name from them in hopes that you will forget which company you requested services from and will not know how to post a bad review or leave a complaint. Don't bother asking for their names because they will give you a fake one. This buisiness has one thing in mind and that's how can they !%@# people out of their money.

I originally called this company and hung up after the second ring, Why? well I was in a rush.. within seconds I was on the line attempting to schedule an immediate appointment for service with another company.. Once I did.. i was told 30-45min wait.. however during that wait I notice I missed 2 call from the previous company I called (originally) Master Locksmith.. When I spoke with the caller whom I trust was the owner of the company, he shared with me his reason for his called and I asked if he was the person I waiting for ? I have never written a review but I could not help but write one after the absolutely HORRIBLE experience I had using this company for a fresh deadbolt installation. First, their technician showed up 50 minutes late. He then overcharged me by a boat load ($419) and added the total wrong (I told him twice and he still charged me the wrong amount), he cracked the door frame, and he was rude. I contacted the company and heard from a manager right away (but have not heard from him since then after multiple attempts). They did try to "fix" the issue by offering to do a second door which we did not need done, they even sent the same rude technician. They reimbursed me some ($150) for being overcharged but it is still more than should be paid for a simple installation ($269) of a new deadbolt and the damage done to the door frame, as well as how I was treated. I have contacted them multiple times and have yet to receive a call back from anyone. Please seek business elsewhere, there are locksmiths with better business practices in the area that are more deserving of you business.

We locked our keys in our car and called for a quote. I was told it would be $35 for the unlock and a $19 service call, so I made an appointment. The technician arrived on time, and gave us a courtesy call before arriving. The technician was very courteous and easy to work with. When he wrote me up the bill of sale, instead of $35 I was charged $109. When I asked about the price I was quoted on the phone, I was informed that the pricing only "starts at $35." Apparently even though my vehicle was an easy job (the technician's words, not mine) it still cost me three times the quoted amount. I wish I was given an honest quote to begin with when I provided the details of my situation rather than finding out that it would be higher later on. Overall, a disappointing exchange.

DO NOT call this company. They will say this is a fake review, but it is not. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. I called them after locking my keys in my car, they quoted me a $20 service charge and then a base $35, I have never had my car unlocked for such a low rate, so I questioned it. She stated that is the fee for the locksmith to come out and then he will provide me with the fee to unlock upon his arrival. I declined. I asked for a fee based on my make and model like every other company, she refused. I stated I would use another company and no longer needed their services. This company has REPEATEDLY called me all day(the number shows spam risk every time), not just a couple calls, like 15 calls. I have asked them the last 3 times NOT to call me anymore and to remove me from their list. It is the same woman calling every time. She has called twice since then and I said I would contact the authorities if she called me again, and she hung up on me that time.

Locksmith was able to get to my apartment about 40 minutes after my initial call and was able to open the door in about 10 minutes. Service was quick, but I was overcharged and it would’ve gone unnoticed if I had not called the office to follow up. Matt at the office was incredibly helpful and the company was able to set up a partial refund in order to compensate for me being overcharged. 4 stars due to the inconvenience of being overcharged, but overall service was quick and efficient. Will call again if I am in need of a locksmith again.

I highly recommend. My key fob deprogrammed itself and I thought that only the dealership had the ability to cut and program keys. On the second day of my car sitting at the Napleton Dodge dealership (they are way understaffed) was when I began calling locksmiths to look at my car. Master Locksmith was the only locksmith who had a key for my car and their price beat everyone else! Master Locksmith showed up immediately with a new key cut and had my car running in less than 10 minutes. If I would have called Master Locksmith from the beginning, then I would have saved myself a huge hassle and headache. Very friendly people too!

I mean the guy unlocked my door, I gave a low rating based pn price. $185 for 3 minutes work. Yes he had to drive to Ballwin, I don't expect them to work for free, but the pricing seems predatory to me. I've been struggling to make that much in a week since the pandemic, but they have you over a barrel, so they're going to charge like they are a doctor or a plumber!

SCAM ARTISTS They quote you a 19$ service fee then say lockouts start at $35. You will never pay anywhere near these prices. When the smith shows up they will do everything they can to increase the price. Even in the most basic lockouts you are going to be quoted much higher than their advertised. I have good reason to question the authenticity of all of these 5 star reviews. Also they own other names of businesses in town so if you call “Expert Locksmiths” I believe the name is you are getting these scammy people. AVOID AVOID AVOID AT ALL COSTS
