I called Nepean Kanata Lock & Door Service on Monday. Inquiring about how quickly they could help me with my front door handle and lock that broke in half the night before. The earliest they could come would be Wed. I explained I wanted a solid product that wouldn't break in half. They recommended I buy one of their lesser quality brands and order their more solid door handle, because they don't carry the more solid brand. To order it would take two weeks. I was able to get a more responsive lock smith to install a solid all metal door handle and lock within three hours of my call Monday morning. Nepean Kanata Lock & Door Service didn't call to confirm the appointment for Wed morning, which is usually a professional courtesy. Due to my concussion my memory is poor. Also my car's starter gave out Monday after I got the door handle replaced. I completely forgot about the appointment on Wed. So I was charged the full $65 service fee this morning. The young man who showed up was extremely courteous, professional and helpful. Not at all like the owner and his policies.

Very decent company, great service tech. I chose NKL over other companies because they were having a promotion. They were slower to reply than a couple of other places, but that may be because it was not urgent and I enquired for quotes by email rather than phone. They didn't show up for the initial inspection to give me a quote (-1 star), but sent someone out the next morning and were very apologetic, extending the promotion by one day so that I would still receive it. Service tech Marty was very efficient and helpful - I needed to install all new locks and handles after painting the doors - he showed me some tips to make life easier. Thanks for your help, Marty, I got it installed and working!

It was my fault for not first asking the price but I don't feel that I received good value at NKLock. I was charged the full rekey price for an already disassembled lock (required only swapping 1-5 pins) - and the same price to rekey a door handle lock ($25 each). Work was done fast (minimal wait) and was good quality.

Fast,professional,same day. They came because I could not loosen the screws on my dysfunctional latch assembly. Not only did I get a new door knob - right out of the van- but they also replaced my deadbolt which was stiff in Winter; all for less cost than buying a new latch assembly.
