You have all the reviews of real people who bought the products and services of Ron's Lock Safe and Alarm Company (Locksmith) in Kitchener (Canada).
To this day this business has a rating of 3.2 over 5 and this rating is based on 65 reviews.
As you can see it reaches an opinions average is average, neither too high nor too low, and it's based on a very high number of feddbacks, so we can think that the rating is quite reliable. If many people have bothered to give their feddback when they've done well with the service, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to set opinions when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Locksmith is classified in the category of Locksmith.
Copied keys. Was quick and professional. Will use again.
Worst customer service i have ever experienced anywhere. Wow.
Anthony was and professional and kept things funny in a difficult time it was when all said and done, a delightful experience. Much appreciated. Thanks Tony!
This week I went to get a key made and parked out front of this shop. I went next door quickly to grab my friend before I got the key made, however, didn't get the chance before hearing "HEY LADY!" from the owner of this store. He continued to scream at me so much about getting a $60 ticket that I couldn't even get a word in to tell him I parked there to use his establishment in the first place. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. Even if I had parked there without intentions to shop there - which I hadn't - he could have politely asked "could you please not park here?" as opposed to the several awful things yelled my way. I will never ever walk in this store and I will make sure to advise others not to because no one deserves to be treated with such disrespect. I am literally appalled that you think it is acceptable to talk to another person that way. I never leave reviews but I knew I had to in this case because its not the first time I've heard you were rude to customers.
Quick, safe, knowledgeable service!
Drive past. He scared my spouse that some one tried to break into the house with a tennis ball. He tried to up sell her on a new lock plus install. Same model at Home Hardware a third if the price. My 80 yr old inlaw forced the wrong key, tumblers replaced at H Depot for 15. Drive Past.
We are lucky to have such a knowledgeable offer of service in Kitchener. Ron has been there, seen it, and is ready with a great solution for any complex problem. Thanks for always being there Ron
Did not want to give him even one star rating. This guy is a condescending bully! I'm 58 years old and he kept calling me "sport". He just threw the item on the counter at me. He has no manners. I would say STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.! Save your self the abuse and go to G & A Locks on Union Street, 1000% better all the way around.
Great experience. We were able to get timely and professional service. Thanks!
Was helping getting a 2015 Hyundai car key cut.
Great service! Took the time to explain everything to me in detail. The cost to cut a key is more than say home hardware or other non key places.. but the keys worked perfectly, did not need to return them or have redone (like I have had to do with home hardware). Worth the cost to get good knowledgeable service. There is a reason he's been in business for 40+ years!!
Got two replacement Thule keys and some house keys done today at Ron's. Service was fantastic and the quality of the keys were great! Ron tested both on the Thule box and gave some great advice as to maintenance of the mechanism. I highly recommend him!
Ron talks a lot but he is a total professional at what he does.
Went to get a key cut for my car it was done within five minutes super sweet super friendly and super affordable will 100% be coming back here
Not very helpful. Very dismissive about my project. Got it done with Howalds.
Great experience and he saved me so much money , thank you Ron
He was a great guy! Great customer service! Pleasant and really knows his locks! Explained everything we needed to bring and how much time it was take and he was accurate.
I went to Ron’s Lock, Safe and Alarm to get two keys cut for my apartment (1 for the building, 1 for the apartment). I’ve had extra sets cut for relatively cheap at places like Home Hardware, usually around $5.00 for the two. Ron’s charged $30.00 for the set. It was quick from start to finish, but had I known the cost would be so high, I would have gone elsewhere. There was nothing special about these keys.
Ron has made three listings to hide the bad reviews. "Ron Smuk Enterprises Ltd" "A Security Service" "Ron's Lock Safe and Alarm Company" (2.4 rating with 38 reviews)
I tried to get my house key copied at three different stores before walking into Ron's Lock Shop. All three stores were able to cut the key's, but none of them actually fit or worked in the lock at home. So frustrating... to have to go back to the store, and ask for a refund of a few dollars each time. If it wasn't for the fact that I needed three copies of the key, I probably would have just let it go. When I went to Ron's Lock Shop, he took the time to explain why my key wasn't copied properly at the other stores. He showed me why my key was unique, and why I might even want to consider getting my lock re-worked to avoid future issues with my door. Then he offered a way to abate the cost of this work so I could avoid being charged twice for having to get new key's for a reworked lock. He was very thorough and clearly an expert at his trade. I was in an out of his store in under 10 minutes. I was confident that my key's would work this time, and sure enough, they did. Like a charm. It's highly unlikely I will ever shop for my lock and key related work anywhere else. Did I have to pay a few extra bucks for each key? Yes. Is it worth not having to return to the other stores for a refund, and having to explain that the key didn't work, and being asked if I was sure that I tried the key properly??? Absolutely, yes. I know how to use a key, thank you. Would I recommend the shop to my close friends, coworkers and family? Yes.
Automotive Keys are very expensive these days. They carry all kinds of theft deterrents and need to be programmed by an expert. Thankfully Ron's has that expert. I got my car key done while I waited. Ron is about the friendliest merchant you'll ever meet. A blend of old fashioned "Come on in and chat a while" with "expertise of modern automotive systems" . I recommend Ron's Locksmith to anyone.
Use G&A locks or brauns. Never seen such a cluttered store... and unprofessional business attitude.
So 3 trips here to get a key made for my Triumph motorcycle. Second trip I was greeted with "just gimme the key" as it would not even go in to saddlebag, gas tank or ignition. Third time there he tried to tell me to find a blank on the internet and bring it there and he could work it out. Then he found a blank that fit and cut the key. After all the trips there and payment of $113 for the key he wanted another $50 for the key that fit! I can't believe people I was not paying a penny more. DO NOT GO HERE!! Adding pics of the 2 keys and the difference.
Who's better than Ron's? Don't waste your valuable time at the other guys, getting keys cut that don't work, Ron's is the only game in town that you can guarantee the key will work every time, 100% of the time. It was really great talking with you the other day and thanks for the helpful security tips for my rentals. I will definitely be back for more.
I got scammed because I didn't know how much it should cost to cut a key. $11!!! For one key. Go literally anywhere else.
I have just had a very good experience last Saturday at Ron's Lock & Safe Co., replacing the non-locking Dexter (which went out of business many years ago) set of an inside door with a set keyed on the outside. Harry answered the phone immediately. He was very knowledgeable and coached me on how to remove the Dexter set with a knife to remove the door knobs and phillips screwdriver to remove two bolts and two screws. I brought the entire set to him. With no delay, he sold me a matching set I needed @ $90 plus HST. At home, I was pleased that it fit the door perfectly with no carpentry needed, even though it was manufactured by a different company. It works perfectly. All that the same (Saturday) day. I would not hesitate to recommend Ron's Lock & Safe Co. after this very pleasant experience. Harry's service was 10 (out of 10), with the bonus of very pleasant customer service. I'm guessing the negative reviews are from fraudulent competitors or brumpy people with unrealistic expectations.
WORST LOCK SERVICES EVER! HE CHANGED THE NAME OF HIS BUSINESS DUE TO BAD REVIEWS. It says they're specialty is hi-tech auto keys but when I brought in my old 2001 subaru car keys ( not even laser cut keys) he said he couldn't do it and tossed the key at me over the counter to me and told me to leave cause they're closing. I wouldn't recommend his services to anyone. read his reviews from his other google business name Ron Smuk Enterprises. All bad reviews as well. Take my advice and stay away!
DO NOT GO TO RON'S HE WILL RIP YOU OFF 100%! Super terrible guy charged 15$ per key to be copied then I went to Canadian tire to see how much they would have charged and they said just 3.99.
Laser cut 2 keys for my Buick while I waited. Both programmed without issue, first rate job! Thanks Ron!
Last night I called after hours (around 6:30pm) and realized that they were closed. Before I could call them this morning - Ron called me and answered my questions about my safe which I purchased from him acouple of years ago. Very happy with the service every time I go to see Ron. Thank you!
Over price I went to Ron’s Lock the guy charge me $200 just to built to lock jut the inside of locks.... if I go to Home Depot I could get a 2 whole set for entrance lock for $80 brand new. Over price over price
Excellent service. Knowledgeable staff. Made a rare key for a vintage motorcycle as I waited. Well done, the key is perfect.
Today I parked in front of the store and the owner came out threatening to have my car towed away even though we said we would move right away. Instead of allowing us to leave, he continued his verbal abuse for another ten or so minutes. Kept going on and on about how he will have a tow truck there in ten seconds but yet would not let us leave. After listening to him for what seemed like an eternity, I told him that his behaviour was not acceptable as he was being extremely rude. I would never in a million years use the services of someone who behaves like a bully towards a complete stranger.
Terrible place. The owner is pretty strange and very aggressive. Told me my lock was "illegal" and I would need to replace all of locks in my house. Also wouldn't even open the door to talk about the part I was trying to buy. He literally opened the door 1 inch and basically yelled at me. Very strange experience. Won't be back.
Tried to get a replacement key for a thule box. Staff member yelled at me for 15 minutes before I could leave. Told me the replacement would take $120 and he could not let me leave before he fixed it as it would be "illegal" otherwise (it's not). Went to another locksmith down the street and got the spare key for $5 in less than 5 minutes. Would not recommend.
Best lock smith around, wouldn’t go anywhere else :)
Great service
This guy shouldn't talk. He should hire someone to deal with customers. His prices were three to four times more then else where. I will not be going back.
Installing locks were done efficiently and in proper working order
Placed a call to have a vehicle key cut from a key code since mine was stolen. Every excuse in the book, told me nobody can do that then degraded me for expecting service on a Saturday. The next place I talked to had it cut before I arrived. This guy is brutal and his reviews prove it. Go somewhere else!
Parked in front of store to go to convenience store next door (assumed it was all shared parking as they’re in the same building/those were the only spots available) got yelled at for ten minutes about how he’ll make sure I get a 60$ fine for parking in front of his store. I wasn’t aware that the parking lot wasn’t shared with all the businesses in the building, and he could have notified me without being cruel, would never be a customer in his business due to his attitude and lack of professionalism. Went to a different convenience store as I was so uncomfortable with the situation.
Ron was knowledgeable, very skilled, and quick with service.
I now go to Ron's to get all the house doors and shed pad locks all on the same key. More choice than at the hardware stores.
Our business has worked a few times with Ron's and we are always impressed by his knowledge and service. Will keep coming back!! Thanks again for all your help!
TERRIBLE customer service, avoid at all costs
Went to get motorcycle and house keys cut. The experience was fast, efficient and pleasant. He is very knowledgeable and the prices are reasonable
Needed a key cut and was nearby. Park in front. Tap on door as the hand written sign says. No answer. Wait. Tap again. No answer. Wait. Tap a third third time then I hear "I'm here!" From a guy sitting in a car parked behind me, reading his phone. I walk up. Me: "good morning". Him: "sit in your car". Never looks up from his phone. Nothing more. Me: big smile, get in my car & leave. I wouldn't let this clown hold a stale, old cup of coffee, much less pay him to do anything. At all. Under any circumstances.
The guy wasn't clear about the prices, made it sound cheaper then it was. Walked out cool and calm, empty handed, with him threatening to call the cops. Talk about a scam artist. Get it in writing before dealing with Ron. Didn't appreciate the threats and insults.
We received excellent customer service!
