I've had nothing but terrible experiences with the owner and his wife. And any friends who've dealt with them have had the same terrible experience. The owners are old rude people, who have no business dealing with people for a living. Never understood why the Guelph police service goes through them. Untill I learned how crooked the Guelph police service is Aswell. Glad I no longer live in that city.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! First of all the employees are rude. Second they quoted $70 then charged me $135 for 3 mins work. And then they had the audacity to say I was $20 short when I counted the money twice. Ended up paying $155 total and wouldn’t give me a receipt

If I could give them 2/32nds of a star I would. Charged me $63 dollars to tow my car 3.5km. When I went in to get it back the woman who took 10 minutes to come out to the office was incredibly rude. Also had to move a busted up front bumper out of the way so I could open the driver side door enough to get in. Two employees there watched me move it without offering any help. Thanks more making my already bad day unnecessarily worse.

Let me preface this incident by saying I am fully aware towing companies operate under the instruction of another party. In my case, either Guelph's police or By-law Enforcement had requested my vehicle be towed. The only relationship I needed to have with the towing company was that of me paying, and me finding the answers to two questions. I came in with no grudge with this company. Knowing this I attempted to pick up my vehicle, and had 2 simple questions/concerns to address. 1) I wanted to inspect my vehicle post-tow 2) I wanted to know who had requested it be towed My wife and I were greeted by the thug who lived in the house at 29 Wells Street, who I can only assume is the owner. I asked if I could inspect my vehicle which started his screaming for the duration of our 13 minute "conversation". Throughout the whole time he screamed, not just talking loud, and was visibly agitated. Below are some points with the bad words edited out to flip, flipping, and donkey appropriately. Note I did not stoop to his level and yell/scream/swear as I am sure some would be tempted to do. - flip you, you won't step foot in my lot until you pay me my flipping money, smartass. If you flipping want your car, you pay me. - you flipping idiot, what type of business do you think I run? It comes out in the same condition it came in - the police towed your car, I did not, any damage would be their problem - flip you, talk to the City, they towed your car you flipping idiot. - you are a flipping stupid donkey, and if you were not such a flipping stupid donkey you would not have parked where you did and have been in this situation - there were 100 other cars out there and you are the only flipping idiot stupid enough to have his flipping car towed, so flip you - why do you even care to inspect your car, its not like it is a Jag or anything, who cares - i deal with flipping stupid donkeys like you all the time, so don't get smart with me - if you had be towing your car to a shop after an accident you wouldn't be such an donkey - dealerships tow in cars all the time, you don't inspect them there first, so why would I let you here - are you flipping stupid, you see the cops walking around downtown, who do you think gave you a ticket and called me? - I have better things to do then flipping come out and talk to people like you this late at night, dont get me started - everyone knows you can't park there, its not my fault you're flipping stupid - are you trying to be smart? Is that how you sign (holds invoice in my face to compare to drivers license) - as I tried to back out of their lot with my foggy windows he was making comments to my wife criticizing my poor driving and the fact I had to do a 3 point turn to get out, as well as other sighs and insults I think any one of the above comments, let alone all of them, would be enough to deter most people from doing business with these guys. All in all this seems like a very poorly run operation with no regard for customer service, nor any empathy or sympathy for the situation someone is in. I am not sure what sort of people they are used to dealing with, but I certainly do not think this thug-like behaviour and lack of professionalism was warranted. I'd go somewhere else for your towing and service needs, this company is run by someone who is on a power trip and relies on bullying tactics.

Even though my Accord was written off, Bobs towing company did a good job by transporting the car and keeping it in a safe place with all the belongings in it safe. Note that the doors could not close due to the damage and someone could have either stolen the belongings or they might’ve fallen out but this company made sure that our belongings were kept safe. Thank you Bob’s.

I was stuck in a bad spot and my vehicle would not go into gear. Figuring that my transmission cable had snapped, i called Bob's to get me out of there. They told me the driver would be there in less than 30 mins and he was. Mike showed up and when i told him what the problem was, he got down under my vehicle, located the trans cable and found that the cable had just slipped off. He popped it back on and i was good to go...after i paid him for the call, which i was happy to do. Dude could have just hooked me up to his truck (which is at least 80 bucks or more) and charged me for the tow home... Good to see friendly honest operators out there.

So I had to use them twice in 2 days to move my crashed car. The male receptionist that answered the phone was very rude and unclear. He told me the truck would be 40-60 minutes long. So I figured I'd get there 10 minutes before the 40min. So I get a call. He's mad at me because I'm not there. This was just under 20 minutes after I called. Which would make me happier then ever if I was already there. He complained and said why am I doing this so late. Regardless I don't care what the receptionist said. The reason for the 4 stars is because I had to deal with 3 drivers for this car. And all 3 of them were great people. Did a safe speedy job and enjoyed a nice peaceful conversation. If it weren't for them I would say never use Bobs towing. But I definitely recommend. As long as you can look pass the minute conversation with the companies receptionist.

I was calling to see if I could come 5 minutes early to pick up my personal belongings, instead of being polite or accommodating the lady yelled at me and called me Theresa, said to go write another bad review. Well I am writing a bad review now cause as you can see I’m not Theresa. If you are on the phone with a customer and don’t know who they are I wouldn’t recommend yelling at them and accusing them of things another person did. I can see on a Sunday you allowed a customer to get their car even tho you were closed and you wouldn’t let me on the lot just 5 minutes early so I can make it to work on time? Not accommodating to all customers clearly

Very courteous, friendly, and helpful when performing an emergency tow, even though it was almost midnight. Driver was very skilled and knowledgeable; they hooked up a 2-ton SUV with no problems or damage in almost the blink of an eye and got my car home without issue.

These guys assisted with the unlawful and illegal search of personal property. A very poor decision indeed, and I suspect it's not the first instance. I will be seeking out any other cases of this such activity so as to bundle together the coming litigation. Not a smart move.

0 stars for Bob’s towing. Don’t trust them or your car on their property. Rude and ignorant family. I went to get my property and Bob the builder actually would not let me get all my property and when I called the police they would not return any of my phone calls. This is because they have a contract with each other. (Apparently, it’s ok to steal if your friends with the police department) These people are the worst place you want to go. They get friends to post positive things hear on this review but they willl damage your property and steal from your car. If in an accident and they just show up. Refuse to let them take your vehicle and call another place. Trust me. They will screw you over, damage your vehicular and steal from it and they always get away with it. Not to mention they charge wayyyyyy to much. The daughter of BOB the Builder was more polight but like the saying goes “like father, like son”

Was in an accident recently and my vehicle ended up at Bobs Towing after the OPP completed their investigation. I've dealt with my fair share of tow companies over the past 5 years and I had an opportunity to chat with the owners. It's a very well-run place, and they're straightforward with their procedures. I know some tow companies get a bad rap as accident chasers but Bob's Towing looks to be one of the few tow truckers out there doing the right thing. Keep up the great work!

Well experienced operators, well maintained tow trucks, small but clean office. Wish we stayed safe though. Oh well, accidents happen, at least these people somehow helped ease the burden.

My husband is away and I picked up a nail in one of my tires. My roadside assistance called Bob's towing who gave me an eta of about 30 min. I thought that was amazing considering we are all dealing with a pandemic! Well. The driver arrived in about 15 minutes and put my spare on for me in no time. My son was towed here and I was expecting the prototypical tow company aggravation. The lady who took care of us, was not only polite, but made sure we could get the vehicle back on a Sunday afternoon, even though they were closed. I honestly hope I don't have go to this tow yard again , for obvious reasons, but I would highly recommend Bob's towing to anyone who is looking for good fair service.

Bad snowfall, lots of accidents and no CAA tow trucks to be found. I needed a tow that would take me, 2 kids and my car about 25 kms. Explained the situation to a driver from Bob's Towing and he spread the word. One of his colleagues said he would take care of us and he did. Not a nice night to be out and I'm sure all these guys were looking forward to finishing their shifts. Knowing my predicament, they could have jacked their prices, but they didn't. Wonderful service. I will be forever grateful.

Absolutely fantastic. I got in a car accident my car was totalled and this was the company contacted by police to move the vehicles. When that happens you have to pay the emergency towing fee... no big deal insurance covers anyway but the 2 drivers took time to hang and chat with me and my dad while we waited for paper work. I then contacted the next Monday asking to collect my belongings and they were super cool about it let me in no worries even offered help. Tow truck companies deal with alot of impounds. Keep that in mind and remember give respect get respect, these people know your going through hell and will treat you well if you are calm, understanding and respectful.

Great guys. But the dispatcher at night is very unprofessional. I come from a big corporate company and she demanded a payment before coming to assist our stuck tractor and 53' trailer. She refused to take the job and told me to go elsewhere. We called back at 7am, got the morning dispatcher and a wrecker was sent right away to help us. And we paid the bill within 60 days ( corporate rule ).

Got into a car accident the other night, and ended up in a ditch off the hanlon. When I called Bobs the lady that answered was extremely rude. I was clearly upset and shaken up and really needed help; however they were so awful and unhelpful to me I ended up having to hang up the phone and wait there for someone else. Bob, or whoever it is that operates this business is a boorish rude bully who delights in making your day more horrible than it already is (assuming you are there to pick up your car after it has been towed for some ridiculous infraction like parking within a meter of a laneway - as in my case.) Regardless of why I was there, I was calm and polite and simply wanted my car back but was told on the phone to wait outside in the middle of winter until he sent some guy in a half hour to deal with me. It turns out he lives right there and his tow-truck driving son lives across the road. When I pointed out that I was not happy that he made me wait, even though I never swore or yelled at him, he took every opportunity to belittle, judge, and even threaten me to within an inch of the law. The police had to be called to get them to release my car because he walked away from me! I now avoid the city of Guelph because of Bob's Towing.

My daughter in law needed a tow from out of town back into Guelph, about 20 km. We phoned Bob's towing. They were precise in telling us when they would come and they were there within a couple of minutes of when they said they would be there. The man was friendly and efficient and the price charged was reasonable. We had been told they would be the outfit to phone and we are glad we did. I should add that this happened on a day with very bad weather and a lot of accidents on the roads.
