If you need a non-standard key cut, don't waste your time searching, go to ACME. They have a huge stock of key blanks. I went to 4 places (2 of which were locksmiths), none carried the blank to cut the key I needed. As soon as I walked into ACME, showed them the key, they immediately recognized the key type and had the blank. Got the key cut within minutes. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.

I removed the lock and brought it to their location and they made me 3 keys for it and also some other keys for another lock. Their rates were great. 6 keys for ~$40 including tax. I walked in with a key that was shredded into three pieces. It was the day of my move and my closing date for my condo. What a time for my key to disintegrate from turning the lock so many times. Of course all I have are my main keys with no wallet. So I head to Acme and tell them the story. The head guy spends about 20 minutes reciting technical jargon (from my hearing perspective) to his staff, and with some fine filing and number crunching, I was given two keys to try. He refused money (my ashtray coins) and wished me a good day and good luck. So I drive home with this being my second last option and hoping that I wouldn’t need the last. I put the key in and...well I noticed that it didn’t go in as far as it should...so I filed the end of the key on the cement stair in the stairwell...tried again, and voila, inside I go with a sigh of relief! Thank you Acme in Scarborough for helping me out. I will recommend these guys all day long.

This store exceeded my expectations by a significant margin. I lost my keys to my apartment yesterday and had to borrow my partners keys to get a copy cut. The man who works there was incredibly nice and pleasant so early in the morning. I was in and out in around 5 minutes and the price was excellent. The location is very convenient with enough parking. It was also nice to see that they followed the government protocols for the current world situation flawlessly. 10/10 would recommend. 10/10 would not recommend losing your keys lol.

I tried going to one of those stupid machines to get a key copied and that was nothing but trouble. So I went for the drive to Acme Lock & Key, and very glad I did. Although I only needed keys cut the staff were friendly and attentive and had my keys cut literally in moments. I don't know how often I will need a locksmith but if I ever do I will definitely be giving these guys a call.

Good things do come in small packages. Sure, the storefront is small, but it's deep. These guys really do know their stuff. I had my car key cut in under 5 minutes, and just the way I anted. Richard noticed the difference and pointed out it won't work. His experience saved me a lot of troubles. So, I ended up buying one of there aftermarket keys. Works perfectly. I had originally come in with a worn out primary car key but they told me to bring the less used spare key as they didn't want to risk the copies not working, shows that they actually care and want their keys to work properly. I had to make a duplication of a very special key. I went Walmart, Home Depot , other local key duplication stores in Markham, North York area. They all said “no” . The key was very special and they did not have the same size. This place was my 7th. It was almost 6pm and most of key specialization stores were closed. The two staff I encountered at this store (2 young men - the names elude me) were both very professional, helpful and eager to assist me. As it turned out they were or able to able to actually cut the key for me but they I felt that the certainly tried there best to assist any way they could. For the record - the key I was trying to cut was for a smart car and they are difficult to find outside the dealer. (They could cut s key, but not replace the fob). 4 stars only because the staff were great - would have given 5 had they had the fob I needed. Great service though.

I went to get 3 keys cut for my car. I knew 2 were not going to be an issue. But, the third one I had was a Titanium key. After cutting, 2 keys were perfect but the Titanium key would not turn. I took it back with the car and the locksmith checked it grinded it down and made it work. It is very hard to cut a Titanium key. His experience showed in his workmanship.

Stellar, friendly, quick. After my wife lost her car keys, we went to the dealership to have a new one cut. They could not accommodate, and sent us to Acme instead! The guys at Acme found the right blank in minutes, and cut two copies in seconds. They even recommended we stop using the original key in order to preserve it, given its condition. After 40 minutes at the dealership with no keys, we were in and out of Acme with functional keys in 5 minutes. Way to go boys.

I happen to be driving home on lawrence ave e and saw this little key store in a strip Plaza and stopped to try one last try Richard told me the reason why they couldn't copy it and made me 2 more keys. I brought in a broken key from an electronic switch for a divider in a gym. I was hoping that it could be copied. They informed me that it was an unusual key but they proceeded to search for a match, and repeatedly cut different blanks to see if they could get a match. After three unsuccessful tries, they returned my money but still wanting to find a solution, they decided to modify the blanks of the copies that they had made to see if that would work. It was successful! I was very impressed with their professional approach, their commitment to service and drive to solve the problem. Just went there to cut keys for my cottage community mailbox. I live 2 minutes away from the store, and it took me longer to drive there than it took to cut the keys. Very fast and reliable. Prices are great. Staff is great, any key you need cut go there. ESPECIALLY Canada post keys, don't waste your time with home depot, they will tell you they cant do it.

Richard has great customer service skills. I took a broken key for a cargo container, he sized it up, I took it home and it fit perfectly. I also told him I lost a key to the rack for the cargo container and he offered me suggestions and told me there is an easy solution to that problem. I brought the locks back to him and within 2 minutes I got my key and he re greased the locks for me. It is so refreshing to get good quality service!!! I will definitely recommend Acme Locksmith!!!
