Good and helpful people
They don’t recommend programming key you have
Scam artists!!! I asked them to re-key the lock for my rental property, (assuming it would be around $50 like so many times I have had other companies do that) and they charged me $355.60. I called and asked about the outrageous charges and they said we had to replace the lock because it was stuck. They didn’t bother to call to confirm if I wanted them to do the work for that price. I was on the phone with them for over an hour combined and they don’t care about customers and just give excuses to defend themselves. Call another company and save yourself a big headache!!!
The go to place for your home security needs
Helpful.
$120 to open a car door? You guys are nuts.
Go to place
Got some tubular keys made for a project, very reasonable compared to replacing the lock and keys with new. Very professional bunch of people working there. Only drawback is that they don't accept American Express.
Great service, great crew!
These people are so awesome!! ???????? So helpful and so polite!!!
Needed a special lock. Tried calling, no answer. Emailed them about the lock. They said yes they have it. Got there, waited 20min for someone to assist me. Then told no we don't have those and know of no one that does.
Had what I needed
Needed to get a key made for my Ford Focus. New key was made and tested in a matter of minutes.
Very friendly place, took care of my needs right away.
No nonsense in and out for keys to be duplicated. Pleasant and quick.
They didnt have the specific key I was looking for, but they were able to copy another key for me at a very good price. And i also needed some tape that they man happily let me use. I'll definitely be going there when i need copies of keys from now on. The key they didnt have the cut for was for a storage locker in Virginia.
I highly recommend their services. They were able to create a new key based on a key which had broken in half. I was pet sitting and the only key that I had broke! They were literally lifesavers!
Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. It is great to have experts that you can walk in and talk with. They are also professional key cutters that can duplicate unique keys unlike the machines used at a home center. They have standard locks as well as electronic locks. They also carry a number of models of safes on site. Go talk to local experts, they offer a lot more to our community than just a product. Buy local!
They're awesome! Friendly, well staffed, great prices. They made a key for my scooter after I lost my only copy. It's not a popular brand that most have worked with but they were able to custom fit it. I am so happy with their service from start to finish.
Not particularly friendly, but they are actually there during their business hours, and are able to make most (not all) keys which the chain hardware stores can't do.
Prices are great and fast service
I needed 3 locks on my new home re-keyed. They showed up on time and had the job done in a half hour for a very affordable price. The locksmith was friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
Keys that were copied were flawless. Suburban Lock and Key has so much more than locks and keys. It was really interesting looking at all of the safes while we waited.
Every person that I have dealt with is always very nice and extremely professional. They did a great job on my new locks. Thanks for helping to keep us safe in our home.
I called in needing something that they were not able to do. Instead of just saying "no we dont do that" and hanging up, he gave me advice on how to solve my problem.
The gentleman in the shop are very knowledgeable on 99.999% of the questions you have. Today, I asked the guy, did he know you can speak to some locks using Alexa from Amazon, and the look on his face was priceless????
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, never had a bad key or lock.
Fast, safe, and professional. I'm a Soldier visiting Buffalo and my wife and I got locked out of the car. Not only did he get us back into our vehicle, but he expressed much gratitude for the service of our great nation. It really meant a lot. I highly recommend this company.
Honestly, first time I've had an issue with making a vehicle key and my friend recommended trying Suburban for my Lexus LS400. John was so helpful as well as the rest of the staff. Really, couldn't be any more grateful to them for sorting my issue out. Definitely will be coming back from now on for any and all key-making issues I face.
Fast helpful service
Always willing to help people out!
My Sentry Safe's Dial stopped working, after having it 15 plus years. They had to drill into it to get it open. I brought it in. Don't know the names of the individuals, but it was on a Monday, and both gentleman, one younger, one older, were very nice, even helped cart in the safe in and out of my truck on a dolly. Had to leave it with them, as they were busy. I totally understand that on a Monday around 1PM. I got home, sat down to watch some tv, phone rings, they were already done cracking the safe, within the hour I dropped it off. :) $104 with tax. A little pricey, but they get the job done, thats for sure. I had daily medication i needed in there, and it was not an option to NOT open the safe! Thank you guys for making it a smooth, easy process! -- Jim
Awesome service. Friendly and professional.
The staff here were more than welcoming, they made my key shopping experience pleasant. And they do almost anything key related, even copy "newer" fob keys.
I am not at all surprised about the recent news article. Years ago, I had a problem with one of their locksmiths who was called to re-core a lock. The man was extremely rude, argumentative and ended up threatening me. The next day, I called their corporate office and received a call back from the owner, a Mr. Kroll or Krull. Unbelievably, he was even more hostile than the locksmith on scene. Mr. Kroll took the side of his employee and accused me of lying. I vowed never again to do business with them. Years later, my business had to replace and/or re-key a large number of locks. Our maintenance staff was about to call Suburban Lock and Key, but I quickly overruled their decision and advised them never to do business with Suburban. A few of the vendors I deal with have also related similar stories about the lack of professionalism at Suburban Lock and Key on Delaware Avenue. The recent article on News Channel 4's website illustrates that they have never changed their greedy and unprofessional business model.
The staffs were very helpful!
I needed a master key for a 1974 Porsche 914 that has been in the garage for 36 years. I couldn't find the master key just the valet key that would open the door and start the engine but wouldn't open the trunk or glove compartment. Suburban Lock & Key made me a master key. I couldn't be more happy with the service they gave me. I highly recommend them.
Excellent service
Went there last Saturday around noon and no one was there. It says 24hr emergency service but yet I couldn't get anyone to answer the phone provided either.
Very polite. Changed lock and made new keys.
Quick and professional
Very professional, fast, friendly and affordable service!
Cheap and quick. If you have more than one key for your house, just stop it. They'll rekey a lock for $15. Just get them all set to the same key
Great guys , they get the job done
Very nice guy came and had the car open within five minutes, and a very good price too, I also had a spare key made for $5!
They were very professional and efficient!
Super quick and helpful! I'm so grateful for the help I received
Great staff and great store!
Our usual place to get keys done !!
When my only key to my 2005 Honda broke, I was referred to Suburban Lock and Key. I went to them on the Wednesday afternoon before Thanksgiving. They were able to make a new key within about 15 minutes but once they tried it in the ignition, they were unable to remove it. After a frustrating 45 minutes or so on their part, I offered to have someone pick me up so that they could work on it after Thanksgiving. As it turned out the tumblers in the car had become misaligned - probably due to the wear and tear of aging. They ordered the needed part and went the extra mile by not charging me for all the labor involved in trouble shooting and fixing the problem. These guys are the best!
How do you spell RIPOFF? Easy.... S U B U R B A N. Vehicle key replacement..... straight all metal non chipped key...$175.00. If you have a new car with a chip in the key...$295.00. Better to just call the dealer with your VIN and have a copy of the registration with your name on it.
Good service and follow up on research. Realistic promises on time frame. Very friendly and helpful. Much cheaper than a dealer for a chip key.
Brandon was very helpful and quick
These guys are the best from getting you into your vehicle or just simply making a key. Prices are great and staffs knowledgeable and very courteous.
Excellent service, prompt arrival and an awesome person that did the work. I would definitely recommend them. This was for the Kenmore site.
It was easy to get a couple of keys made here. They are a full service lock shop.
I called Suburban Lock to come open my vehicle. The gentleman that came out was over 30 minutes late and ended up scratching my door leave a noticeable mark on the driver side door. I don’t recommend anyone to use these guys as the seem to be quite unprofessional and that’s to say the least.
Very professional and knowledgeable and helpful.
Above and beyond. Great knowledgeable service and the best prices. Highly recommended.
Always helpful
Good, fast, and affordable lock & key service.
Quick, efficient, and polite service
I locked my keys in the house. Called SL&K at 857am and was back in my house by 920am. In 12 degree weather that level of responsiveness is sincerely appreciated!! The tech was fast, friendly and knowledgeable; and I am really glad that he was the gentlemen sent to help us! Many thanks!!!
custom doors for me. Excellent job and service
My elderly mother had an issue with their store on Delaware Ave. She was embarrassed about being "ripped off," and the issue only came to light months later, when family members found the receipt for work that was supposedly done. By then it was too late for us to do anything. If I'd known then what I know now, I would have filed a compliant with the New York State Attorney General's Office. For anyone with a legitimate complaint, do not use the BBB, they have no enforcement power, and are primarily running a "pay to play" scheme. Businesses that pay a $500 annual membership fee to the BBB get a favorable rating. So instead of the BBB, use the NYS AG's Office.
They weren't able to fix my 100 year old door latch but they tried and were very helpful thru it all.
I have gone to Suburban Lock and Key for decades after finding that many key replacements I'd had made elsewhere just didn't fit the locks. Never happened with Suburban.
The only place to get your lock and keys
Really great. Fixed my lost key issue immediately.
These gentlemen are reliable and very reasonably priced. We will only use them going forward
Had to get new keys made. Other places keys did not work. First try and keys worked. Ill be going back.
Excellent service
Bad for business $200 for a copy of a car key went to Walmart to got a copy for $90 why pay more when you can pay less for the same thing not that desperate
When I tell you I was having a nervous break down when. Been without my car for 3 days, got it towed to Mazda dealership on Sheridan. Their head mechanic ran the program to re program my key, but of course it didn't work because evidently there was no chip in the key to program. Wouldn't that be the first thing you check before you hook your computer up duh... Needless to say I was charged $155. Won't be going to North Town Mazda for any further problems. Thanks Heritage Locksmith for saving the day. Not only did he come back bcz I was stuck in traffic for my appointment. It only took 5 mins to get my car up and running
Fast and friendly
I just today went to the store on Delaware avenue in Kenmore. I drove about 15 minutes to get there for 4 cylinder locks for a project at our church. I went to the counter and explained what we were doing and told him that i wanted locks all keyed alike.this guy all of a sudden went full blown attitude , gave me a look and threw his arms up in disgust. I don't really know what I did or said wrong but all i know is I went out of my way to go to a locksmith to get locks and didn't realize that I would have less problems online. I can spend my money anywhere, how is it such a battle to get service today??? I purposely went to a local small business in our area to help them. Mistake, and lesson learned.
Excellent service
Excellent service

Great service
We use them a lot for a work account. Every time I am there the guys are so helpful and nice. Fast service and reliable!
Great service. Needed a specialty lock. They found one to work for me.
We have an 85 year old oak front door with a lovely but equally old mortice lock. It has been difficult to lock for years, but with a bit of silicone and manipulating, we could get it to work - until recently. Suddenly the key wouldn’t turn in the lock. Time to call in the experts. Suburban warned me when I set up the appointment that an 85 year old lock might not be repairable, and that finding a replacement would be very tough. Then our likely option would be a door wrap lock - not a good look. Danny the young (but incredible!) technician showed up on time and patiently explained the mechanics of the lock to me. He took the lock apart and out to his mobile work station on his truck. He can back in and announced he had found the problem...a bent dead bolt and a lot of dirty parts. He told me he would try to rehab the lock, including carefully straightening the bolt. He retreated back to his truck and spent literally 40 minutes carefully disassembling, repairing and lubing the ancient lock. When he came back and put the lock back in place, it was amazing. That lock worked like new, clearly better then it had in the past 36 years we’ve lived here. Danny was nothing short of a miracle worker, plus he was courteous and beyond patient. I was (wrongly) not expecting a younger technician to have the skills and patience to bring an old and tired lock back to mint condition. Danny did that and more, all with a smile and for a reasonable fee. Ask for him and you won’t be disappointed. Thank you, Suburban!
