Service was quick but fraud pricing. Just to open the car door they charged 145$ and 15$ for service call. My car was 2001 toyota with not much technology on it. I called the service around 5'O clock in the evening. I made a mistake of not calling to other locksmiths. When I called them thay said service fees is 15$ and for opening the car door it will start from 35$ depending on the job. When the techinican arrived he understood that I am in hurry to leave for work and charged me 160$ in total which is totally unprofessional.

Toutes les pièces intérieures de la serrure que j'ai acheté chez Rona il y a 18 mois étaient cassées - toutes les pièces étaients en plastique malgré le fait que j'avais acheté la serrure la plus haut-de-gamme que Rona avait en magasin. Il a rapidement remplacé les pièces intérieures avec des pièces de métal et maintenant la poignée s'ouvre comme un charme. Bon prix, bon service, mais encore plus important, j'ai l'assurance que je ne me retrouverai pas incapable d'entrer en plein hiver.

TLDR; tax-like scam, fraud pricing on arrival, stay away. He uses fraudulent scams to steal your money. Last Saturday evening, before his arrival at my apartment, his quote was 30$ for emergency and 145$-175$ depends on the lock. When he came, he saw my lock and immediately he says it’s ASSA and requires another 100$, even though our lock is 20 years old, very ordinary, and low price model without any additional security features. He just picked one lock within 2 minutes. He charged 305$ and when I said it was too expensive, he gave me a ’30$’ discount. How graceful!!! The worst is that he collected another 15% on 275$ claiming that it is for tax (total 316.18$). Later I found that picking a lock is NOT A TAXABLE SERVICE. He charged +15% ILLEGALLY!!! What a creative fraud he is!!! He did not sell or install any parts, so the service is not taxable and he must have known that already. The credit card receipt doesn’t have a tax number either. I later asked him to give me a refund for his ‘honest mistake’, then he blocked my contact!!! Now, I have no other choice but to report his fraud to the police and Revenue Quebec. He claimed to be a professional of 35+ years, but with his rude attitude and dishonesty, he will for sure lose his clientele in Montreal. Who knows, maybe with his paid positive reviews he will be okay.

Changed my lock 5 months ago to "high security". Same day service. BUT when I recently called to get the lock re-keyed, he gave me the run around. Didn't show up the day he said he would and never called to tell me his truck broke down. We resked for another day at 9:00 as I had to work later. By 9:30 he still wasn't there so I called him. I had to remind him what the issue was and he assured me he was on his way. I left my elderly mother to wait for him while I left for work. When she called him at noon to find out where he was, he got angry at her. At 13:30 I told her to lock up and leave. He never showed or called! I called other locksmiths and none of them ever heard of the Maxtech system. My new locksmith told me it was a cheap made in China knock off and I was overcharged. Shame on you!
