So my keys were locked in my car because I was grabbing something from it and accidentally closed the door with the keys in. Anyways after hours of noticing, I called this company to open the door for my car not asking an estimate of price due to my thought of it being an easy job and not much labour required asides from driving and 1 minute of work. After the job is completed I ask for a price and he says "180". 180 Dollars, to open a 2004 Nissan Sentra door, which required about 45 seconds of work. "It is because it is way late, past 12 am." Yes I understand it's late, but if it's a 24 hour service, I don't understand the double rate of cost due to the night time, if you guys offer such service. Awful deal. Absolutely not worth the money. Do not use this company if you ever get your keys locked in your car, not worth the money at all.

I just moved into my new house and had all my locks re-keyed by SMC. I called in this morning and a dispatcher was able to send someone here for 1pm. I was very impressed by the quick service. When the locksmith got here he told me my locks were in good condition and offered to re-key them instead of change them. That saved me some money.. many thanks Eddie! ALSO he gave me some free keys! Woohoo!

UPDATE: I RECEIVED A CALL FROM MANAGEMENT AND I AM TRULY AMAZED BY THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY DEALT MY SITUATION SUPERBLY, AND I AM HIGHLY SATISFIED FOR THAT. THEY DESERVE BETTER AS THEY ARE REALLY CONCERNED REGARDING THE CUSTOMER. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THEM FOR FUTURE WORK. The original review is for 'GT Locksmith'. However, SMC, GT, mylocksmith etc. are belonged to the same company. So, I think, this review is also appropriate for the SMC Locksmith. I contacted them to unlock my Ford Fusion because of their good reviews. Unfortunately, my experience with them was really bad. First of all, I am not sure how they operate as I called 'GT Locksmith' company; but, a guy came to my place after an hour from 'Lucky Locksmith' or ‘mylocksmith’ that confused me at first place. Anyway, he had an airbag to put pressure to enter a stick to press the unlock button which didn't take much time - only 5-10 minutes. He then billed me total with tax $161.70 which seemed ridiculously high at that moment - but I kept silent and paid that amount. To verify this third party service price, I then called 'GT Locksmith' about their price. The service call fee was $59 which was okay; however, there was discrepancy in car unlocking fee. They informed me around $30 - $60 bucks, whereas I was charged $95 for that. So, I asked him the reason and he told me to call back later after investigating that. He never called me. The price is questionable and I really felt betrayed. Not to mention, the guy from that third party was waiting too long at my place; and when I started my car - shockingly, he seemed to follow me as if I was stealing a car. It was a total disgrace. I have kept all the records from these guys; and in future, I will not do any business with them nor I would recommend them to my friends and families. To me, I feel that they take advantage of the situation you are in as you can not refuse what they ask at that time. Last but not the least, I asked the third party guy regarding the cost of a key duplication as I needed one. He quoted me total $267 including the already done service. So, it means more than 100 bucks for duplication. I didn't take that service as it seemed too pricey rather I went directly to 'Home Depot' and the job was done by $78. I thought they would be cheap; but, they are indeed more expensive.

I paid an SMC Locksmith (Alexi) over $350 to re-key the locks to my new house. But they were VERY difficult to open in cold weather. I complained to SMC and eventually they sent out another technician (Eddie) to fix things. It took two months and an additional $200 investment to get my locks fixed. Eddie was quick and efficient. If you have any issues, I suggest reaching out to SMC and not the locksmith who did the work.

This is the most unprofessional business i have encountered in a while. After having locked my key in my car i called them to unlock my car. the dispatcher said 30-45 minutes because it was rush hour but said that he had someone available right away. The driver gave me a call right away and said he was just finishing up a job and he would call me the moment he was done to tell me how long he would be... 45 minutes after hanging up i have not heard anything, so I called him back. All he said was the job "took a bit longer" and said he would be there in 45. So now, almost 2 hours later her shows up. Gets the job done and charges $154.00... this is a total rip of. You can sign up for AMA for $110 for a whole YEAR! AVOID THIS BUSINESS. Lacks courtesy of its customers, over charges, doesn't communicate and lacks professionalism overall.

This place is fantastic! I called 4-5 other places to get a replacement tool to re-combo our push button lock at work and they all said it was impossible without the series number of the lock which was faded off. I called these guys and when the tech called me he had it pinned out in minutes which tool I needed and brought it over to us. Showed me how to re-combo it and sent me a link to a video on how to as well. Very highly recommended!

I was setup with an appointment by SMC with a locksmith quickly. Then the time of the appointment came and passed, I didn't receive a call or text. I called the locksmith directly to find out where he was and when he was coming out. He didn't even remember he had set an appointment with me. So he ended up saying he would be by after dropping off something at another job. Over an hour and a half later still no sign of the locksmith. I called again. He said he was on his way to my place. Another half hour later he finally shows up. He did get the job done quickly at my place. However, what I was most unhappy about was, where was the heads up to let me know he was running late. Very unprofessional in my mind. I will not be recommending this company to my friends.

Horrible experience! Locked keys in my car at a car wash. The car wash attendant was nice enough to call a locksmith for me. Was told the driver was free and could be there right away by the main office. When driver called he said he could be there in 20 minutes. I asked the price and he said $100! He said it is because they are licensed and insured. So expensive, but he was "on the way". After 45 minutes I tried to call the driver back, but he didn't answer. So I called the main office again, said I was still waiting and wanted to cancel as I was not comfortable with the price. He was rude and said no way I'd have to pay something as he was on the way, then put me on hold. He never did take me off hold. Finally someone shows up. Not in a company vehicle which was strange to me. Pretty sure it was a different person then I had originally talked to. First thing he does is points to my car door and says oh you see the damage. Then I asked him about a company vehicle and he says "oh this one is in the works" whatever that means. I asked what the locksmith company was called and he said smooth locksmith or something like that. Why does my reciept say daynite towing? Why did it cost so much? Horrible customer service, what a rip off :( Call someone else!!!

I called SMC because my dogs hit the deadbolt and locked me out of my house. The response time was low, about 35-40 minutes ( I had expected to wait longer) but the service was a little different. The locksmith who came to my house tried to pick the front lock for about a minute, maybe two, and told me it couldn't be picked. He tried the lock on the back door, for the same amount of time, and told me that couldn't be picked either. Instead, I was told the lock had to be cut open, so he took a grinder to it, and then offered to sell me a new deadbolt for 20 bucks. Luckily I had another deadbolt for which we have a key that we installed ourselves, but if I had of known that after a grand total of about 5 minutes he would cut open the lock, I would have saved myself the $160 and called my dad to borrow his grinder. FOR FREE.

Although they will accept cash or credit, they require a credit card number given over the phone before they will come out to you. While I understand reasoning to want do this from a company standpoint, I wish that was clarified before I gave them my address. For those of you without a credit card you will have to try a different company.

I would like to share the complete experience. When going to the web site I was given a number to phone for a locksmith in Calgary. The number was for Toronto. The gentleman gave me the number to reach the locksmith in Calgary. Phoned the new number and a receptionist then gave me the number for the locksmith. I explained to him that I required 2 uncut keys and 2 new fobs encoded and informed him that I would come into the city to get the work done. He gave me an appointment time of 2 PM and a location. Upon arriving at the location their was no locksmith. I phoned him and he was still downtown completing a job and he would phone me when he was finished that job. I waited in the city until 5 Pm then returned to Langdon (home). I tried phoning him and it went directly to voicemail (Phone off?) It has now been 5 hours since my appointment and still no call. I would really like to complain about the service, but there was non.

Locked myself out of my house, called Alexey and showed up within half hour. Tried a less destructive method to try to save me money but in the end we had to drill it out. All said and done the knob was replaced and keyed to my other locks for a reasonable price. Would recommend and will be using again to update some other locks around the house in the future.
