My door lock randomly broke on Sunday afternoon and I was locked in the apartment unable to leave the apartment. Amazing experience with Mickey. I was on my way out to do a list of errands on a Saturday of the long weekend when I turned my deadbolt lock to leave and nothing happened. I repeatedly tried opening and the deadbolt literally fell apart. I couldn’t lock my door anymore. I Googled locksmiths, called a few companies desperate to have someone fixed my door ASAP. Mickey answered! He was very prompt, arrive before the scheduled time and had me set up with a replacement deadbolt in 15mins. I'll give negative 5 star if I couId, I don't know how he got all these five star reviews, he would take shortcut to fix your lock and maybe hope the problem will come back so you can be billed again, he cared about cash more than anything else, and he will be totally in combatting mode if you try to tell him to do things properly. ADD: your response is only half truth, I already told you what the problem was, and the expectation was to tighten the two screws holding the loose bolt, if you cannot do that, I'll be happy to pay you $75 service call as agreed, instead, you made the hole on the ground bigger for the bolt to fit in and charge $145 which will actually make the problem worse (as a very minimum, you should have checked with me first if that was what you wanted to do), YOU JUST WANT TO MAKE MORE EASY MONEY, and that was your true and only motivation.

I want to commend Mickey for the excellent service. Prior to connecting with him, I had called another "locksmith" who took my door handle/lock all apart, proclaimed he needed to order a part and if he couldn't get that, we would have to have a whole new handle/lock for our bathroom door. He was there for about 30 minutes or longer and did not look like he knew what he was doing. Subsequently when I called, he suggested that I google to see where the part may be available. When I said that should be his job, he mumbled something and said he'd get back to me. Two weeks later, having heard nothing from the other locksmith, I called Yaletown. They came almost immediately, put the handle and lock back together again and made sure it worked. I don't know just what he did, but he was done in about fifteen minutes and the handle works beautifully. By the way, the first locksmith charged me $98.00 service call even though all he did was take it apart and complain about the quality. Thank goodness there are people like Mickey at Yaletown Locksmith. He is a gem!

I had a horrifying break-in at my apartment and Mickey met me on site at 2AM within 15 minutes; his price was super reasonable and he didn't overcharge me. In fact, another locksmith I'd called asked how much I ended up paying and said "wow, you got a great deal, I wouldn't have been able to match that". Mickey came to my apartment within a super reasonable amount of time to fix my front door handle. He was very professional and an overall nice guy.
