I had a great experience today at their Boleskine location. I was panicking because my bike lock was stuck on my frame and the keys would not go in at all, let alone open it. I thought the lock was dead, useless AND stuck on my bike frame for ever, while at the same time my bike was an easy target for theft. Then, I went to Price's Lock & Safe in Uptown (Boleskine). Everyone was very helpful and tried their best to help me. In particular, a huge shout out to Brian, who very quickly (I'm talking seconds!) fixed my lock without damaging the bike. Then kindly and expertly explained what had happened and gave me suggestions to prevent that from happening again in the future. All in all, it was a fantastic experience. I hope I never need their services again (at least not this particular service!), but if I ever do, I will no doubt go back. I've seen what they can do and I trust them. And in particular, Brian. Thank you.

Had to get two new fobs for our van. We bought them online for a teeny-tiny fraction of what the dealer here in town wanted for them...looking at you "Rhymes with Podge". Phoned Price's and spoke to Adam - he was professional, knowledgeable and set up a time for me to stop by. Seriously took him 5 minutes to program the new fobs and cut two new emergency keys. Pro! Total? Less than 1/6 of what the Dealer (bandits) wanted just for the fobs! Highly recommended anyone go this route to get fobs done. Save your time and $$ and get it done right.

We've been open since 1910, and prices has always been part of our security advising and response team. My experiences with other companies has never met the level of care and proffesionalism that Prices offers. I recommend them regularly and I hope you can see them for the professionals they are. please dont mistake them for retailers or salesmen. These guys and girls care about security and they know what they are doing. That is the priority is in security professionals.

Went to the Boleskine location to get a key cut for my CR-V. I've done this a couple of times before at other shops - you have to get the key cut and then transfer the guts of the old fob to the new, empty fob, as the vehicle needs to have the programmed chip in place in order to start. It worked OK to unlock the door so I left to go home and transfer the chip to the new key/fob. I found that the key did not work to start the vehicle - upon closer inspection it's clear that the cut doesn't match up in a couple of spots. I called in to speak to them about this and was told, by a very rude "sales" agent, that I should have tried it while I was there and that if the key will fit in the ignition then it's obviously the programming that's wrong. We went back and forth on this for a couple of minutes and this is the first time I've ever hung up on a business - it was infuriating and was clear I wasn't going to get anywhere. In the end, I've spent $40 on the cut, which wasn't done right, and now have to get it done again elsewhere. Update - thanks for the response. I had a close look at the key and noticed there was a ridge on one side of the key in the cut area. I was able to grind that down to a reasonable degree of smoothness and the CR-V now starts with the key. It seems that it's quite sensitive to this but since it's now working I'll leave it at that.

I came here today as I needed 15 new keys cut for various offices at my work. The service was fantastic. Stephen quickly made all of the duplicates I need within 10 minutes, and had them neatly placed on key rings back in the envelopes I gave him. He even asked if I wanted the # of the office engraved on them and was able to duplicate a file cabinet key that worked perfectly. I waited in my car and he brought them to me and a card reader to pay as they were at capacity inside. Our company will be using them moving forward.10/10

Had Auto keys cut here. They made it very clear that providing our own keys eliminates their liability. I didn't feel it was very honest to suggest our keys could be duds. One of the gents in the back threw out some technical nonsense citing "they must have the correct FCC numbers”, or whatever. To an old lady who doesn't know better that might work to upsell her on YOUR guaranteed keys, but anyways... Our keys worked fine, no issues at all.

Made a copy of my "chip" key for my Toyota quickly and way cheaper than the dealer. If you have a car newer than about 10 years, a plain metal key copy can open the door but won't start it. Factory-installed "immobilizers" have been required on all new cars in Canada since 2007 to reduce car theft. These require a transponder "chip" that is located in the thick plastic "handle" of your key. NOT the same as the pushbutton remote that opens your doors, although that might also be on the handle of your key. Hardware stores that cut keys don't have the equipment to program the transponder chip to match your car, but these guys do.

This place is awesome. was having trouble with my rear trunk lock on my dodge ramcharger and couldnt find a replacement lock anywhere. A guy named stephen came to the rescue. put some special lube on the key even after i have tried penetrant and he got it working again right away. Didnt even charge me a dime. These guys are top notch lock techs no one else can compete with. Thanks again Stephen.

Don't you just love it when you go into a small shop where you're the only customer, you approach the counter where there is a man looking at a computer, you wait for the better part of a minute, then the guy says, without looking up from the computer, "Can I help you?" Poor customer service like this is usually reserved for government offices, where employees know that can't be fired. But it's alive and well at Price's Locks on Jacklin Rd. in Langford. I'll go elsewhere in the future.

Went out of my way to go here for new house keys, thinking that my chances of getting it right the first time would be much better that going to my local (and much closer) hardware store. But it didn't improve my luck at all. Price's gave me eight keys that were all too big for the lock. And, when I turned for correction, there was no apology, no recognition of the time it had cost me to have to do this a second time. Disappointing, to say the least.

Very good experience with Prices today. I was in a bind as my boat ignition key broke in two. We were leaving on a trip the next morning. This is an older outboard and control system so hard to source blanks. I went into Prices and was assisted by Steph (I think). He was very professional, took my broken key and started working through walls of blanks to match it. I came back an hour later and he had produced two keys for me. I needed to get a key copied for my motorcycle side bag. Before going here I already tried 2 dealerships and 2 lock places with no luck other than to re-key the lock. No one could figure out what type of brand the case was. The first key Price cut didn't work, but assured me if it didn't work they would refund me the money or to bring in the side bag. The second time I went in with the side bag and they solved it in 5 minutes. Saved me a ton of money and hassle. They guarantee all keys so they only charged me for 1 key as first one didn't work. I have had keys cut here in the past and all was fine. My last two trips resulted in keys not working properly however. I would go back but the service is not particularly polite. Canadian Tire which is right behind them has equally poor service but at least I can get other stuff there.

SO impressed with Price's Lock & Safe - Edward and Adam came to my rescue on Saturday evening, when my car suddenly wouldn't start in a downtown parking lot. They were highly recommended by a local tow truck company, and such great service. The key wasn't registering with the car computer, so it required figuring it all out, making new electronic type keys - and they had it done on Saturday evening. All with kindness and Edward and Adam went out of their way to help get the new keys to me the same evening, as I was unable to get there until Sunday. Couldn't recommend more highly.
