We were in a real bind this afternoon: an Airbnb "guest" had vacated the premises sometime over the past 24 hours after having stolen a duvet cover, matching pillow cases. By 3 pm this afternoon he failed to return the keys to our accommodations for him, in our home. We had two sets of additional guests arriving early evening and needed to change the locks or have them re-keyed as soon as possible. I called several other locksmiths who were either unable to accommodate the urgency of our situation, or who increased their price almost double once I mentioned it was urgent. And then I called and spoke with Adam at The 6ix. Not only was he able to accommodate our time-sensitive request, he did NOT charge anything more than his usual rate even after I explained it was urgent. Adam phoned me when he thought he might be 10 or 15 minutes late, but in fact was within the hour time-frame he initially quoted me. When he arrive just before 7 this evening he assured me that I didn't need replace any locks, but only re-key them. It took him no more than 25 minutes. I would have anyway, but Adam insisted that I try out each of the keys to make certain they all worked smoothly - which they did. I even asked if I could pick his brain about replacing the old hardware on two of my 110 year old doors. He advised against it and provided a range of suggestions - some of which would not have involved him at all! I was very impressed by this man and would have no reservation to recommend his services. What a wonderful contrast to so many other experiences I have had with trades people over the past long while!
