Shop around. Quoted $22 for service call and $45 minimum to unlock my basement cellar door. Sounds fair, but upon arrival, the tech tells me the charge will be a total $196 after tax!!! I would have appreciated being told a more realistic quote on the phone rather than the lowest quote. Drilling a hole through the lock and replacing the knob would have been at least half that price. And to top it off, it was a basic Rona Factor door knob! Totally disappointed.
