On Oct. 25th, our front door key wouldn't go into lock while my Wife and I were away at work. Our daughter had to contact them asking for replacement of the lock. The entire time the three of us exchanged texts and approved this company to take care of the problem. Initially, at 1:15pm, Angel said he would arrive after 5:00pm. At 3:26pm, he called saying, "If I can come now, it will be cheaper than quoted". He was in for less than 40 minutes. He billed us an additional Labor charge last minute, besides the initially quoted Service Call charge of $65, bringing the total cost to $195 (approx.). Since no repairs to the lock was warranted, but just lock replacement, he shouldn't have charged the added service charge. It didn't cost us any less for bringing him right away as he had originally assured but, we ended up paying more than their competition. We regret for giving them the job. Beware!

Writing this review out of principle, please read before you start business with safeandsecure locksmiths, especially concerning Morstise locks as they will not fix them but rather only try and sell you a new one (505CAD excl. tax and excl. install), which is fine expect if you dishonest about the matter. My Mortise lock broke, a little metal spring lever broke in 2 due metal fatigue (pic attached). I know this as I opened the lock and found the broken spring in there. Then brought the lock to the locksmith and asked if they can order or make this metal lever. Their answer (and to be fair yaletown locksmith had the same answer) that you cannot and should never open a Mortise lock and that it cannot be fixed only replaced. Safeandsecure said the lock is put together with pressure machines tensioning the springs you can find inside the lock. I was skeptic and found out this is absolutely not true (that why I am writing the review) you can youtube this or believe my story. They did already prepare an invoice for me to sign for a new Mortise (505CAD). I was disappointed and took the lock home, I took a metal cutter and cut the lever piece out of a metal strapping coil, bended it in shape, put back in lock, reinstalled the lock, nothing special about that process and put everything back together with 2 hands and 1 phillips screwdriver in 1 hour. To my own surprise it works 100% great. I never worked with locks before. Point being safeandsecure very obviously was not interested in repairing my lock, but rather in selling me a new one, he tried to make that happen by telling me a fat lie. Very disappointed with such treatment, they should not call themselves locksmiths as that implies repairing and making locks, instead they should be honest and state they only sell and install new locks (at least for Mortise locks) instead of telling me false truths in the hope I am desperate (when you front door lock is broken you in a rough bargaining position) and or gullible enough to take their word on it. To be clear I provided safeandsecure with the same pictures that I attached below. Would love to hear your response safeandsecure.

Today when I went in for a personal matter to do with a broken door lock on my vehicle, my experience was very much the same. Shalom assessed the problem and had me on my way in less than 10 minutes, all for the paltry sum of $16.00! Highly recommended!

Requested a price for 5 Emtek passage latches. I was quoted $76 each. It didn't sound right so I called another supplier. Found out that the item typically sell for $12 retail and wholesale $8. 1000% mark up is price gauging. Never again will they get my business. Be aware!!

Highly recommend Safe & Secure. I googled 'Vancouver Locksmith' and went down the list asking all companies for a quote. The first co. that I called was one of the 'promoted businesses'. They quoted $35 for the visit then minimum $35 for the new lock. This quote beat all the others, but the lady on the phone was so incredibly rude, I went with Safe & Secure who's quote had been competitive among the legitimate Vancouver based companies. I later learned that the first business I called was based in the States - they quote low, then send locksmiths who may not even be certified. Often they'll end up charging an arm and a leg. I was so happy I'd trusted my gut and gone with Safe & Secure who had been friendly and helpful on the phone. A nice young guy named Guy arrived to my house within 30 minutes of calling - he was so friendly and I felt extremely comfortable having him in my home. He even fixed something on my lock that I hadn't asked for. Completely went above and beyond.

I arrived at the Shell station on Broadway and Arbutus and discovered that both locking fuel caps on the diesel tanks were damaged. I phoned Safe And Secure and told them the problem. Lior said he couldn't guarantee being able to open the locks but he was willing to try. He quoted a price and I asked him to come. Valiant efforts with the lock pick revealed that the lock was severely damaged, so he drilled it out and I was able to get fuel. Lior and Joseph were friendly and explained all that was happening. I am so grateful for their rescue. Highly recommend them.

BEWARE, make sure you explain EXACTLY what you want to the owner before you let him WORK on your keys. I purchased special HI quality keys that I wanted him to cut and before I could finish explaining how many copies I needed he ran off to the grinder and started cutting. He ruined two of the keys and then gave me some cheap china keys and said he was such a nice guy he wouldn't charge me for them. I don't know why he was such in a rush as I was the only person in the store.
