Popped my cherry locksmith a few days ago with Pop-A-Lock and I must say, the service was exceptional. Brian was patient in understanding what the issues were and was very thorough with replacing the failed deadbolt that locked me out of my house. This is the second time we had a failed deadbolt installed by our landlord's serviceman, but Brian's team came to save the day. Thanks to Brian Kates for coming and changing my front door lock. He was on time, courteous and very quick. He also explained that no one had ever removed the original pins in my lock, that means the developers could still get in with their master key! When Brian did the install he actually strengthened the bolt chamber so the doors feel super solid. I called Pop-A-Lock because of how well organized their website was and because of all the positive reviews. Make no mistake, when you need a locksmith, Pop-A-Lock is the company to call. She was extremely concerned with the security of what will be her new condo. Pop-A-Lock came out to do a consult and is moving a specialty lock she has in her existing home, but what impressed me most was their consultation. They asked great questions and provided her will recommendations that truely fit her need. We got locked out of our main office this past Friday afternoon and the guys at Pop-A-Lock were our saviours! Todd was so polite and professional on the phone and really worked to get someone to our studio as quickly as he could. He kept us updated on the status of how long it would be, and had someone there two hours BEFORE he originally thought! When Brian arrived, he was also extremely polite and professional. He had the lock off within minutes and quickly replaced the door handle. He also noticed another handle that wasn't working properly and brought it to our attention, saving us money (and another headache) as we only had to pay for the part and not an additional service charge. Everyone at Pop-A-Lock was fantastic and made a not so great situation bearable. We would use this company again and recommend them to anyone who finds themselves in a jam (pun intended).

After the frustration of locking my keys in my car, and the failed attempts to regain entry into my vehicle, I resorted to calling a locksmith. The first 2 companies I called quoted me between $100 and $150 dollars to unlock my car, but on the 3rd attempt I stumbled on Pop-A-Lock. Monday morning and I wasn't happy to get some work done on my 20 year old car. The key wasn't turning in the ignition lock and I already had to purchase a BCAA membership to get my car towed back home. I called pop a lock and spoke to a Todd person, who was very on point about what needed to be done and provided me with a estimate so I could prepare for that day. I called on a Saturday and Todd person told me to schedule for a weekday to save money cause weekend rates would be double so I booked him for early monday. Brian was the ignition guy that came out he was a well spoken lad that called 15 minutes before arriving and on time as scheduled and I left him to do his work. A couple of hours later he was done, broke down what he needed to do and the costs for it, provided me with an invoice and was very professional throughout. Had the keys replaced cause the original was too worn, and it would not turn the ignition lock cylinder. He needed to code it using the door key cylinder or something and now I dont' have to take the bus. I would definitely recommend Brian and Pop a lock and would use again. Price ended up cheaper than I expected which is a plus.

Brian and Todd are great guys. I dealt with Todd in discussing the best options over the phone. Brian Rates showed up and cut three keys for half the amount Ford wanted to cut one key. Brian is professional and knows his stuff. Charge out was exactly what was quoted with a hide a key thrown in. Thanks Guys! BTW: person at Ford told me Pop a Lock were not going to be able to program the keys with what I had so be careful who you listen to. You can definitely listen to these guys.

5 star?! wow, time to bring it down a notch considering my time that was wasted. $69 for service call, $69/hr? or it could've been $60, in any case the price goes to a whopping $90/hr after 4 pm because, god knows, they have families to get home to and kids to tend to and if us folks want to take away those precious quality time well its gonna be a pretty dollar. Even though they come to your place, no normal mon-fri and 9-5 workers can expect a decent price. But with all that being said, called in to book for a service that was 4 days away for arrival between 9:3-10 am. When the time comes--whoops didn't schedule me in, but of course because we're in need of help, we can spare the time, our time have no value here. Came at 11am. My time wasted- 1.5 hr. At first couldn't really give me any estimate but assure me that they will find the best rate for me, something like my type of work shouldn't come to more than $300. Furthermore, I told them what I suspect the problem was and my car model and year, and it was pretty sure that it was in the ignition set and they have to open it and see, and still no proper estimate price range, but still assurance in being under $300, which I could bite the bullet for. Took the gamble. Service man came, fiddle around for an hour, told me they have to take off the ignition set which means they have to take off the whole wheel head set, blah $ blah $ blah$. "Its going to be an $800-1000" Me : "no, thank you". Charged me $69 plus tax so $73 for the service call and my time that was wasted? 2.5 hours. No worries guys, on the house this time, but there won't be a second time for sure. Oh and a shout out to Mr.Locksmith Automotive in Burnaby. Same day service, flat rate, no extra charge for after hours, no stupid service call charge. Decency eh?
