I was afraid the cost would be astronomical being it was a Saturday night but the price was fair and far less expensive than going to the dealership. I think this guy wanted to charge me $130.00 to have a key cut and programmed for my 2003 Toyota 4runner. I called another locksmith that was a mobile unit as well that seemed bothered that I did not need the "mobile" aspect of his business and expressed to him I could bring the key in to him to be cut and he continued to ask me for the address where the vehicle was located. Anyway i found A-1 LOCKSMITH IN ARLINGTON TX and I brought in 2 transponder keys for my vehicle that I purchased from Amazon 2/19.99 and had them cut for $2.00ea without any problem, both worked fine after I programmed them of course, by watching a 2 minute video on YOUTUBE. Ace hardware has a no outside key policy as well. Why I don't know, but a word to the wise, PEOPLE ARE LOOKING FOR SERVICE NOT POLICY! If the law is not broken then just do what is asked of you by the customer, everyday, places of business are closing because consumers have access to information that normally they would not be privy too. Consumers will always give an opportunity to a local business until they feel like the service is lacking. Oh and the dealership in Arlington wanted $27.00 per key $7.50 to cut it and $75.00 to program it.

Edit: A new employee created an unfortunate situation. A locksmith tech named Eli called me back and remedied it 100%. Thank you so much for being so professional and replying to me so quickly. You guys are great, and I apologize for reacting the way I did. Please call them when you need them, I misjudged after one hiccup, and I’m sure they will do a wonderful job. I called to ask if someone could come out and take a look at my car since someone tried to break into it and it looks like a piece of a key or something metal broke off in the lock. However, the woman on the phone told me to call a mechanic, even though this has to do with me being locked out of my car and I just need someone to just take a look at it and to possibly open the door for me.So...I guess I’ll look at another locksmith.

Correcrion: The owner contacted me immediately to resolve the issue. The team took extra miles to help me get two keys eventually. Thank you! I called in and had to make appointment for next week. 2 hours before the appointment, they called and let me know the key got delayed. So, I rescheduled to next week. Two days before the appointment, the staff called me and asked me to send her the photo of my key to make sure it is the fob they have. I emailed and received no response. We showed up at the shop at 1pm and nobody was at the office. I made two phone calls and waited for 15 mins outside. We had four people with two cars and nobody was willing to come in to the office and let us in. The staff told me our key got delayed again, from Dallas to Fort Worth. She said it was emergency. It has been two weeks since the first time we contacted them. I expect a different level of professionalism but this place is nowhere close to that. They do not care about their customers and they do not have time to communicate promptly. Good luck with your business. I will never come to this place ever again.

Dishonest about pricing. When I called they had a tech call me back and i asked for a quote which he stated between $59-$89. I have a basic no frills car. Manual locks, and windows. It appeared as though he had the invoice already written out with the price at $89 without even looking at the car. If he was going to charge $89 he should have just stated so in the first place so I could have gone elsewhere. I hate dealing with companies like this. You never can tell how much they are going to rip you off, but rest assure, they will.

I called 3 days in a row about my key stuck in the ignition. I was told they have no techs in the area and to call back Sunday and Monday. I Did so both days. I waited 1.5 hours today for a tech to call me. I called them back they had no record of my earlier call and was told that they will relay the message. 5 minutes later I got a call from a tech/dispatch and was to told That they do not assist with key stuck in the ignition and would need to go to the manufacturer. Not sure if that is the truth but even if so, Why not tell the customer day one and not waste 3 day of my time? I called them back and asked for a manager. None happened to be available requested a call back and doubt it will ever come. I Will be filing a complaint about this to the BBB the Texas AG’s office today.

After calling this place, I could hear that my call was forwarded after about 3 rings. However, the person who finally answered, did not seem very knowledgeable, and instead gave me the run-around. Since they could not answer a few simple questions, I called a different locksmith, who answered my call, answered my questions, and made an appointment for just a few hours later. I brought my Nissan 370z here to get new keys....after 2 hours I finally had one key FOB that could start the car. My problem is I tried to have them make 2 keys to open the doors and 2 key FOBS to run the car....I ended up about 120.00 in the hole because the keys they cut didn't work. Thy said they would replace the wasted keys and call me but I never heard back from them. The young very smart employee worked hard, but couldn't handle this car.

Got locked out of our house so I called Extra Locksmith for some help. I called and got a friendly greeting on the phone and I told the lady on the other end that I was locked out and needed a deadbolt and a glass door unlocked to get in. I asked how much it would cost and she said the service fee was $29 and the deadbolt would be $40 but they wouldn't know for sure until they saw what was needed. She told me the tech would give me an estimate BEFORE he started. He arrived and decided the best way to get in was through the garage door instead of picking the locks on the front. In a matter of 9 minutes he was in the garage. Great, I thought! That was easy. I asked him "How much?" and he proceeded to pound out something on his phone and then said "$129". Needless to say I didn't agree to that so after getting on his phone again and calling in to the office he accepted my offer of $80. Overall, this was a scam from the get go. I asked for an estimate and received one on the phone but never got one from the tech. To go from $69 to $129 is absurd and criminal. Watch out for this company which I am sure is using a dispatch system and is not a store front business.

Worst experience EVER. Had my key broken off in my ignition in my car. The locksmith they sent to “help me” worked on my car for two days leaving me stranded, took apart my steering wheel, starter and still couldn’t fix the problem. Long story short; they did reimburse me for the ignition switch (which was a start) but they NEVER reimbursed me for the horn/airbag switch that goes in my steering wheel. That cost $400 out of pocket (including labor). Their locksmith really messed up my car and never made it right. Do NOT trust this company, go with literally any locksmith in the DFW.

So today I was an idiot and locked myself out of my car :( called the police ugh! Broke my door lock and had to find a locksmith to come unlock my door and fix the broken lock thanks to Fort Worth's Finest, Thankfully I found this place because they were able to relatively easily fix the door lock and opened it from the other side my word of advice even though some places offer free services its not always free take it from me what would of been a simple fix almost turned into a complete disaster my car is my baby!

Terrible. They were hours late after repeatedly saying they would arrive in 30 minutes. They also could not figure out how to reprogram my Schlage FE575 lock -- try Google geniuses. And, even better, they failed to properly tighten the Schlage deadbolt on my front door, so the cylinder is loose and moves back-and-forth when inserting a key. I guess they have never used a Schlage spanner wrench? In summary, a total waste of time and money. Avoid at all costs.

Said I would hear from the technician and they would be out in 45 minutes. 45 minutes later there was no call and when I called back they said the technician would call back. They called back to verify my address and 30 minutes later they still hadn’t shown up. Called another company that was out in 20 minutes.

Pretty disappointed. I called and let the operator know what kind of locks and blanks I had, and that I have a stash of my own key blanks so they would not need to special order them (I have a lock that uses a non-standard blank). I had to text photos of my keys and locks to someone's cell phone number and never heard back. When I called back to see if they'd missed the message the operator seemed annoyed and basically told me that they didn't want my business because "no one can get those keys" (the keys that I have a whole box of, just for this purpose, and can be purchased online by the case). What kind of locksmith can't re-key a lock when the customer is providing the blanks? I'm sure these guys do good work on normal locks, but if you have anything other than a standard Home Depot deadbolt, maybe look elsewhere.
