When I took a lock to coast lock in Dec. 2018, I was told it would cost $18.oo to cut a key. at the end of the day my bill was $220.oo. I now have a bill$ for 220.oo and no lock. I find coast lock to be very deceiving and dishonest .

Dishonest, Scam Artist. They will install sub-standard equipment and then charge every month to come out and replace it; everytime with a new excuse where its never their fault. Stay away from these people. They try to sell you their monthly service program or expensive hardware that is not needed. Their hardware broke twice in less than 6 months. Their response was to go with a service program and to charge us each time they came to take a look at it. Go with a reputable company.

I own an old Jeep Cherokee. So old, In fact, that when you lose your keys and dont have spares, it a real hassle getting them replaced. You cant simply go to a dealership and have them cut you a new set. Unless you're confident working with locks, then you have to take it to a Locksmith. Thankfully I chose West Coast! I brought it to them this morning around 11am and had it back by 3. Very friendly and helpful people also. Couple that with a nice partial refund from BCAA, and a potential nightmare was easily avoided. Thanks so much!

They charge too much for simple jobs. A key duplicate that costs 20-30$ in dealership, would cost 65$ here. Doesn't make sense to claim you are saving me time for it. I have never seen any service to be cheaper in a dealership compared to a private business. I was told it is a laser cutting and therefore it is very expensive. Searches a little bit and found out laser cutting is not a rare and high tech key cutting that would cost 65$ (and I have provided the blank key). Thanks for replying on my review but your justification to save me time by charging 3x the dealer doesn't make sense.

My husband and I have been looking for a replacement to fix the handle/lock for our balcony door at our condo. After hitting many walls, we were referred to West Coast Mobile Locksmiths. First I sent them an email with pictures of the handle/lock, and Jason replied to me the next day! These guys are miracle workers!!! I went in to get a key cut for my vehicle, (have owned for the past 1.5 years) as I was not able to consistently turn my ignition over. I had tried to lubricate the ignition and rattle the key, but then the same problem occurred again! The key was horribly worn and not an original key. Because of this, it took several attempts to make a key that worked properly. Now it works great! It even worked on the passenger door that had previously never been opened with a key from the outside! As for pricing, I was told $20 to read the key code in the computer and for the price of the blank. I believe they went through 3 blanks, + an hour of labour (x2 people) to solve the issue. Price was $58 including tax. When I compared the keys, I was amazed that it was the same key because they looked completely different! This was on a Friday, an hour before close for the weekend. It might as well have been a Wednesday at 11 am considering the level of service and enthusiasm provided. Will come again for all my key cutting needs! I highly recommend!

The staffs are jerks. I emailed and scheduled a door open. They replied and said no problem just need to give them a call when I am there. My building is just beside their company by the way. I call them around 4pm today. They didn't input my work order, and tried to charge me over time because only one hour left to their closing time. I can even walk from their door to my door in one minute and they have an hour. And the final word from them is too bad, so sad, not my problem.

I've used this locksmith a few times now and each and everytime they go above and beyond. I came in this time to see if they were able to cut a motorcycle key and program a transponder to my motorcycle. They did some research on the transponder and advised I needed to bring the motorcycle down to them to have the transponder chip programed. They cut the key and programed the transponder, double and triple check that everything worked as it should. I have nothing but good things to say about this locksmith! Thank you again and I will be coming back for all my locksmithing needs.

Don't be fooled by their name, they have a storefront, too. If you prefer to install your own locks but you need the expertise of a locksmith to deal with the cylinders, this place is for you. I walked in and had a cylinder re-keyed in less than 10 minutes. They decoded and copied an automotive blade key and it worked perfectly. Don't waste your time going to big box stores for weak locks and poorly bitted keys, come here where West Coast still practices locksmithing as an art.

The service at this shop was amazing! I had just bought a secondhand truck--had it 2 days, and awoke to the passenger door vandalized with a broken lock. I emailed West Coast, got a reply immediately that recommended I stop into their shop. The owner, Jason, evaluated the problem, gave an estimate, an within a couple hrs he had fixed the broken lock, which was quite damaged. He recut a proper key, and cleaned out both door locks. I'm from out of town and went by West Coast's positive reviews as I didn't know of a good local locksmith biz. This business is stellar!! Not overly expensive. Quality work. Highly recommend!!

I do NOT recommend this shop for cutting keys. They cut a car key for me. They ashed me to sign a paper that if the key doesn't work they are not responsible. Then they cut the car key and I could visually see that it wasn't matching the original key. They had to fix the cut. To make a story short, I paid $75 for a car key that didn't work Also, the staff was rude and I had to confront the staff about her rudeness. I would NOT take my service there again.

I am very disappointed with this locksmith. We have a building with high security lock which they the only company that can duplicate the key. I purchased this Building 10 years ago and the This locksmith refused to copy the key. The owner wanted to replace all the Locks 600.00 to 700.00 cost because The previous owner did not change transfer the key records to me. That previous owner passed away and I brought documents to proof that it was my building. After threatening the owner that I will go to social media he agreed to duplicate the keys. Somehow all these 7 keys that he cut did not work And he cut me another 7 and I had to pay for both sets of keys which cost me around 140.00 extra. He said that these keys belong to another lock in the building which I could not find. So I had to put these keys in the trash and I did not get my money back. I deal with many locksmiths for the last 25 years. This locksmith attitude and customer satisfaction is very poor. I will never deal with them again ! They are difficult and unethical business and the only interest they have to charge the customer more and line their own pocket.

I needed to have a new car key cut for a Yaris 2010. Finding a locksmith that's willing to cut car keys is step 1. These guys know how to cut car keys. Next step is someone giving you honest advice and these guys know a thing or two about locks. They make sure before cutting that you have done your homework and have all pre-requisites done. It's not their fault after they cut the key and your key doesn't start the car because it has extra levels of security like a transponder. They have the equipment to check if your key has a transponder chip however, if they didn't source the key for you they can't guarantee the chip inside the key is compatible for your car. They let you know all the BEFORE they cut the key. They cut my key at a very reasonable price plus provided free advice on how to get the transponder working for my car. Excellent customer service!!!

Had to leave a review! These guys did an amazing job on my T7500. The key had snapped off in the ignition! That was my last key! I didn't think anyone could help me except changing the ignition and the locks! Brought it here at 4:00 pm by 5:00 these guys extracted the old key and manually recreated the key from what it should be! 3 copies later I couldn't believe their skill and patience! Couldn't get a key cut anywhere, went to a GM dealership and they couldn't cut one. Went to HD, Canadian Tire and Rona they couldn't do it! These guys are the best I've seen. I used West Coast Mobile Locksmiths services when the key for my car broke off and part of it was stuck in the ignition. I cannot say enough how pleasant my experience at West Coast Mobile Locksmiths was. They got to work on my care as soon as I arrived in a very timely manner. My car ended up having some issues outside of their control which required it to be brought into a dealership, however, prior to having to get it towed they went above and beyond to try and fix it for me. They called in a mechanic, called my regular mechanic I take my car to, called the dealership to explain what had happened, and kept me in the loop every time sometime something came up. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgable and were able to get my key out in a timely manner. Due to the extenuating circumstance (off market anti-theft mechanism I wasn't aware of in my car that made it not start after) I was there a bit longer than I anticipated and was not prepared, they let me charge my phone, call for a ride, and suggested local places that I could kill some time waiting with my dog for BCAA to come and my ride home. The manager/owner was very knowledgeable about the problem, did further research while I was there to see if he could fix it. Unfortunately it turned out to be something only the dealership could fix but he spent lots of time with me after giving me notes on what to say to the dealer in hopes that the dealership wouldn't have to charge me for a lot of the diagnostic testing. I felt the staff there really care and take pride in their work and it really shows. As a female I always have a lot of anxiety seeking out help from any sort of automobile service as I am not very knowledgable and I feel I get taken advantage of a lot. That was definitely not the case with this service, the staff are very genuine and honest, they're pricing is very reasonable, and they took the time to educate me about what was going on and explained it in a way that someone who is not very car savvy could understand. Absolutely wonderful customer service and a skilled group of staff! Thank you to the staff for taking the time and going above and beyond to help me today, I really appreciated all your hard work!!

The new key didn't fit properly into the ignition but they were able to remedy it. They also gave me a card with the code for my key if I need to get another one cut. I had replacement keys cut for my car. I was assured by the owner that they would work fine. They worked for 1 day and then the key snapped in half with one have stuck in the ignition. When I returned the thug behind the desk informed me that it would be a $600 bill to remove the broken key from the ignition. When I complained that it was the key that they had provided to met hat broke there response was "too bad". In my opinion these guys are jerks and I would never recommend this company.

Hey just figured I'd give a big shout out to these guys for there great... Everything to do with keys. There hourly so I usily get around 5 cut at a time, just cause it's really worth it. I look young I guess so the old guys, well he has caricature ( I don't judge). Really well run. Couldn't go the other day, I thought they'd scam her, like most every business, but these guys have gave her the same great service that I've come to love. No scammers here oddly enough, guy must have won the lottery for these rock bottom prices. On another note, I needed a key rfid cut and programmed ( that they don't do) they gave me a number for a mobile service guy that delivers and is $150-300 cheaper than the rest of em, believe me I called every one. I totally recommend these people to every one. If you take my advise than don't say any thing about the great price, to keep it low. Last thing; if you break a key and have a number on it, that's the code, they'll fix filthy cheap, bring them a car lock they'll key it in minutes.

Had two flip car fob key blade need cut, brought it to them , simple cuts like a house key , " they mess up the cut", I can't even turn the key in the ignition, the fob only come with one key blade, They're service says if the key is not from them , they don't guarantee anything . So I have a Honda Civic (2003) which was in bad shape. I couldn’t start it due to the lock cylinder being warped. Honda quoted me with a 1500$ fix, 750$ for new parts, 300$ for labor, key replacements 200$ plus tax. Looking for a more reputable and less costly alternative, a friend told me about West Coast Mobile Locksmith. I called on Monday May 27th 2019 at 1pm and got in the next day not even 24 hours later. NOT EVEN 24 HOURS PEOPLE! Bruce and his team of dedicated staff were knowledgeable and knew that it would be a challenge but were up to it. They completely fixed it in two hours and broke down the process for me and what caused the warped cylinder. Turns out my key was worn down and was wearing down the lock cylinder too! They repurposed it and worked on the car. The grand total? 1500? NO SIR. Try 308$ ONLY 308$. Being a student in college, I was pleased as punch. They are also a family business which is great. Sorry for the long review, but I gotta say, these people are good people! The absolute tip top best kind of people who aren’t scammers or bs-ers. Cannot recommend them enough, amazing people! Thank you once again Bruce and Co! I’ll contact you soon for installing that deadbolt!

I dropped in to West Coast to get some help programming a vehicle key for my Chrysler van. Ryan, the manager, was fantastic; he tested the replacement key fob (which I bought online) and found that it was defective. He then spent about 20 minutes fixing my broken fob by cannibalizing some other old fobs that he had, and, lo' and behold, my old fob now works perfectly. He charged me much much less than I would have had to pay if I went to the local Chrysler dealership, which was going to charge me $300 for the fob and $75 to program it. West Coast Locksmiths is NOT recommended. Went to them to have a key cut for a common foreign import car and they could not cut the key properly. Isn't that a basic service all locksmiths are supposed to perform? Then stated they would call for me to return later and they would try again, but they never followed up or cared to see what happened. I had to constantly call them over a few months but they kept giving me excuses and the runaround. Took the key to a dealership and they stated the key was not usable anymore as West Coast Locksmith started the cut half way and ruined the blank key. I ended up purchasing another blank over the internet and having the dealership cut it in less than 10 minutes. This company never offered a refund or replacement but were happy to charge me for it in the beginning and they ended up making the key unusable. Stay away if you need a key cut. For more examples of their ineptness in cutting keys, take a look at the numerous other bad ratings regarding keys; most of them mention how bad this company is at cutting keys and the bad service they give in not rectifying the problem.

The locksmiths in the store failed to cut a copy of my 2014 Chevy Cruze car key twice while taking about an hour and half of trial and error in the process! The shorter lady blamed me for saying my original key didn't work to begin with, which was false. Furthermore, the two locksmiths working at the time blamed the cylinder on the driver side door for why the copied key was not unlocking the door. We checked with the dealership and they said the copied key was not cut correctly. Finally, I decided they had no idea how to cut my car key and went to another locksmith near metrotown. The gentleman cut my key perfectly within 10 min.

I brought in a ignition cylinder lock for a 09 VW Tiguan. They said they can fix the lock for 95 dollars. They were not able to fix it for me and they still charged me for it. I paid 84.00 for them to do absolutely nothing to the lock. I would not recommend this business.

I was referred to this company by a work colleague approx 15 years ago and have always been impressed with their quick no nonsense service, knowledgeable staff and good pricing. I prefer dealing with a FAMILY business whenever possible! Have had them to my home to change locks and keys cut etc, but today I dropped in unannounced with a large antique chest to see if they could help unlock it as the key had been lost. Great Service !! My Ford F150 was broken into (all door locks and ignition key cylinder) and through sharing pictures and vehicle information, the correct parts were ordered prior (weeks in advance) to having the vehicle towed to the shop for repair. The work was fast (two hours) and all rekeyed to match the original factory key.

Some people tried to break into our animal hospital and they damaged 2 exit doors. I called few locksmith and they all said tomorrow or in 2 to 3 days but how can i leave my door half a way open for 5 days? I called Jason and he was nice enough to evaluate both doors via pictures. He came in a few hours to measure and said he will install protection plate in 3 days but when i asked him we need our hospital secure over long weekend he was super nice to work late to paint the plate and install them the next day. Well in a world where customer service is for the majority extinct i am pleasantly surprised to find myself writing a positive review. I called after hours to WCML with a problem i've never faced before. Someone attempted to break into my car and destroyed the tumbler leaving me with no way of entering my vehicle. This is my first time experiencing such a problem where a coat hanger or other jimmy rigs wont work and within the hour i my call was returned with multiple solutions for my problem. I was shocked as to how the owner was little concerned with making a buck off of me and even more shocked at his vested interest in getting me back in my vehicle. Again i was given many different options as to how to fix my problem and i really felt better after our convo.

I called Westcoast Locksmiths to fix the back door to my house because it was sticking and the lock didn’t work. Along came Jason who was able to adjust the hinges, changed locks around and now everything is fine. Strictly speaking, he could have just said “Sorry that’s not my job” and I would have had to buy theee new doors. He persevered to get the locks and doors working and I was really impressed by his work ethic. Jason told me he and his Dad are second and third generation locksmiths and have been in Burnaby all their lives. Store was well stocked with the appropriate key models that were compatible to mine. They answered all my questions on how they would duplicate my keys as I have never copied a set of keys before. Very fast service. Keys were ready as soon as I was done paying. Told me that if these home keys didn't work (which rarely happens), just bring it back and they will adjust it. Dropped by today to remove my motorcycle rear seat lock. My bike has a high security lock that makes it extra hard to pick. Jason from the shop found a way to easily remove the lock and he ended up not charging me for the lock removal.
