If you are looking for a locksmith who can provide prompt service, decent price and know-how, I highly recommend you to give Fineline Locksmithing a try. My store entrance lock was broken by a burglar, who also caused minor damage on door frame as well. Most locksmiths I phoned next day told me they only fix lock and I need to find other contractor to replace the frame first before they can come in to replace the lock. I am not sure how often the door frame will be intact when a lock was broken by a burglar. And I was very frustrated after talking to a half dozen of locksmiths. My frustration was disappeared immediately when Curtis picked up my service call. He accommodated my request right away into his busy schedule. Both door frame and lock were fixed perfectly. And he even purchased a special clamp and paid a second visit for this job just to ensure the frame could be fixed properly. I was very impressed by his professionalism and could not be happier as a customer!

Called Curtis from Fineline in Spruce Grove. My truck had been broken into, and I was struggling to re-key the new ignition tumbler to my existing key. I was ready to pay someone else to repair it, but through conversation he realized that I was missing a key piece of information on how to put it back together that was causing my problem. He sent me a text containing a picture of the information I was missing and my truck was back on the road the next day. Rather than charge me to come to my work and fix it, he helped me figure it out on my own at zero cost. That is how you earn return customers when I REALLY need help with a lock issue. HUGE shoutout deserved for that level of customer care, making a frustrating situation (both the break in and the repair) a lot smoother and less painful.

Was referred to Fineline by Action Security Locksmith, as they were unable to rekey locks for a vehicle. Spoke with Curtis, explained the job and he said he would arrive the following day to rekey 5 locks and the car. When he arrived, much later than his "arrival window" he told me he could not take care of the vehicle after all, as it was a large job and he did not have the time. He also insinuated I did not explain the job properly, which was unsure, as I opened by explaining I was referred by another company because they could not take care of the vehicle locks. The door locks were done, but his attitude, lack of consideration and inability to accept responsibility for either not listening or understanding what was being asked of him was ridiculous. I wasn't even offered anything close to an apology, but told to call this place or that, as they work with vehicle locks. I would suggest using another company, as Curtis clearly has no interest in customer service, or trying to make things right - his parting shot was to suggest I could write a review of the company. And so here it is. Avoid Fineline, and for that matter, Action Security, as the only apology they offered was the name of another company I could contact - like I'd take another of their awful suggestions.

I received a quote from Curtis to replace 2 Infiniti Key fobs - $798 + tax; work completed at my home. Dealer wanted $575 all in for OEM fobs so I called AMA to tow my vehicle to the dealership. If you are looking to save a little money this probably isn't the place. Response to Curtis. The 1 start review is a followup afterr reading several reviews indicating that prices were much better than other competitors I was shocked to get a quote that was basically the same as the dealer + an outrageous travel fee. Here is the breakdown between the dealer and Fineline: My costs I bought 2 aftermarket key fobs on Amazon for $60 Dealer programmed the keys for $190 $250 total - (+ AMA tow to dealer) Your keys are NOT OEM (as indicated by you) so I assume you can buy them for the same price as I did. $60 Keys + profit, $120 $190 programming, same as the dealer $200 for travel? $510 Why the $800 quote! I recently had a furnace dealer come to my home for $75 + the $ for the work performed. Not sure where you are located but this seams outrageous for a service fee for a company that markets themselves as an automotive locksmith. Another review indicated she was East of Sherwood Park and got a better deal than the dealership. On the flip side you were very good to deal with and tried to accommodate me on short notice by recommending a competitor. You indicated that you were going on holidays for 2 weeks and the company was basically shut down for that period. From a business perspective this leaves a big gap in service. So, what can you improve? Quite simply the price...

While the dealership stated it would take 5-7 business days to order a new key ,and I would need to tow it to the dealership, Curtis was able to come to my home and program two new keys first thing the next morning. Didnt think I would have to leave this review, considering Curtis and Fineline received straight 5 stars throughout the years. Firstly, I cannot comment on the quality of work, as we never got that far in the business transaction. I required a locksmith for a re-keying service, made a call to Fineline, no answer, I left a message. Later on that day or the following day, I call back again, Curtis answers, we talk about the services I need and he gets me to send him a picture of my keys, I do that right away. An hour or so later I send a text asking him to confirm he's received the picture, no response. A couple of days later, I call back again, no answer. I've decided to not deal with Fineline anymore as I found their lack of communication and interest very unprofessional. During difficult economic times, it appears that Fineline is turning down work and treating customers like they're disposable. Even if you are tied up at a bigger job and do not want to take on a rekeying service, say so, answer your phone and run your business with a sense of communication and respect for your customers. I made a mistake in my earlier review, and posted the wrong name of the individual whom I dealt with. That has now been remedied and confirmed that the right individual was addressed. Regardless, the experience remains the same. Maybe some will have better luck with this business than I had. Best of luck. PS - my project had been completed by a different company, and I couldnt be happier.

Hi Curtis, I've had some issues with the remote control for the car and the key as well. Looks like the key seems to have chipped off a bit which seems to be causing it to jam in the ignition cylinder and the remote hasn't been working at all for a few months now. I can't recall having done anything that would cause these 2 problems. The issue is that I'm actually out of Edmonton now and living in Scarborough, ON, so I was wondering if there was someone you knew here who could help me out with regards to this issue. Appreciate your help again. (My car was a Nissan Sentra 2011 if that helps) Thanks

The key wouldn't turn in my daughters car ignition. They key was fine but the ignition was faulty. The car would not start. Curtis came out and replaced the faulty tumblers in the ignition assembly and fixed the problem. He was very prompt and provided a service the dealership or local Mechanic could not. It saved us a lot of money and because he came to us it saved us from having to tow the car into the dealership.

I locked my keys into my trunk. Phoned two BMW dealerships they said 6-10 days to get a key. Locksurgeons couldn't cut a key. Two more locksmiths said you can't get into the car. Where do i start! He helped my friend cut a key so they could get back too bc too there child he was fast and affordable! Then he took on a project i have troubles for 1 year with. Cutting a key for my rhd toyota celsior vip car lexus and toyota quoted me over 2 grand in total and said i have too replace computers and such. Him and his 100% gurantee service came too my house with his well stocked van cut the key on site and it only cost me a few hundred you cant beat that!
