HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! If you are looking for a door lockset or lock change, this is the place to go. Jake was so friendly and amazing in helping me figure out exactly what I needed and was super responsive to ALL of my questions along the way! Gary was the technician who came out to install the locks and he did such a skilled, professional fantastic job. He had to return to put in some lock-sets and it felt like welcoming a friend back - he’s funny to boot! He also gave me some good advice about my garage lock that I really appreciated. Kind and helpful! After moving, I found that my Sargeant safe was delivered with its door locked and I could not get it back open with the keys or the instructions. I called them first, and Rob was so helpful, and first tried to help me over the phone. I explained the issue with this type of unit and lockcode changing instructions I was attempting to use and get back in to no avail. We’ve used Calgary Lock & Safe at a commercial service level for a number of years and we always know what to expect: high quality work with no surprises. What I particularly like about these guys is that their technicians review the work (along with any possible issues that may arise), before they commence the work so that you know what to expect once the job is completed. Further, their technicians have discouraged us from purchasing new part assemblies if they’re able to repair or replace minor parts. The administration staff, especially Rob Lodge, is knowledgeable, concise, and dependable which makes scheduling jobs very easy. Quick and easy to rekey my new lock and get keys cut, decent price as well. Only issue is unless you are looking to spend $200+ on a lock, purchase your own and bring it in as they do not carry lower end products. But will go back again if needed or to possibly get a high security lock.

Excellent counter service! Needed a front door latch and keyed handle replaced. I was on my way again with the lock keyed identical to my existing locks in less than 20 minutes. The locksmith took time to explain possible issues and offered solutions should the default configuration need additional components. Fortunately for me his best guess was exactly what I needed. I wouldn't hesitate to return here for additional services. Ohh these guys also do powered entry doors. They've got a pretty cool see through display that demos the different mechanisms involved should that be of interest to you.

I had a issue with my lock where the key would go in/out but would not turn. Thought I needed a lock replacement. Called Lock & Safe and they were able to setup my appointment very easily and quickly the same day. Gary the superhuman locksmith arrived shortly after and fixed the issue in seconds (used a smart tool to reset the lock). The original quoted price was $76 for the service call and $95/hr for labor with a minimum of 1/2 hr. Gary pushed for not charging me for the labor since the issue was fixed so quickly and the final price was $76. He even gave me a spare Smart Tool in case I run into this issue again.

this guys are so scammers! they don't deserve any business!! I wish I could rate 0 stars. This company quoted me in total 85$ to help me open a locked door. Once this man ( who took over 3 hours on a not busy night) finally got to me and did his 5.5 secs of work asked me for 195$!! There was no way I was about to give him a Penny more then I was quoted . He tried to fight me on it but I wasn’t going to budge . Never again will I call this company, I’d rather be locked out then stolen from. Shame on you people.

Very Expensive!! Stay clear. They charge $76.00 just to drive and knock on your door and before they do anything else they will charge you $90.00/ hour. You pay $76.00 dollars for them to do nothing. Ridiculous!! I am a service plumber and if a plumber is saying "that's crazy expensive" you better beware of these guys!! Response from the owner 6 months ago "Hi Craig. Do you have any more details on to what exactly was expensive? Surely we'll have a solution that will meet your price expectation." I am sorry for my late reply as I have not used your company since. To be more specific in what my price expectations are. The biggest issue I had was the explanation I received for the $76.00 just to knock on the door, it was explained as a truck fee. I am aware other companies in other fields also have this "truck fee" and that charge is a means to milk the customer for more profit. This extra fee, at the very least should be explained on the phone prior to showing up to the customer to avoid surprise and allow the customer the option to decline your service completely. In my opinion. This was not the case in my experience. Other companies do not have this fee and will even give free estimates. A truck fee for any location inside the city limits is ridiculous, you already charge $90/ hour, that should cover your truck fee in the city. As a service plumber I am $90/hour minimum which includes travel inside the city limits (no truck fees). That is reasonable. But $76.00 to ring/knock on my door and not lift a tool or look at the required job, essentially do nothing, then another $90/hour to actually pick up a tool and do the job, "that's crazy expensive" in my opinion. I hope I am clear enough for you!

We ended up ordering all Emtek products and now have electronic access into our home and garage, plus confidence in knowing that our home is secure. The design of one of our doors caused a challenge with the compatibility of one of the products, but Calgary Lock and Safe came to our home to service the product to try to make it work and when it didn't, they ended up replacing it with a better suited product free of charge.We're incredibly satisfied with the level of service we received and will be using them for years to come!

A tech come out to fix a sticky lock and left claiming it was fixed. Later this evening I am the last to leave (company president) and we discover that none of our keys insert more that half way into the lock. We have expensive custom locks and keys with millions in inventory. I am now having to spend the night at our facility because there is no afterhours phone number. VERY DISAPPOINTED.. Late. Expensive. What is the point of making an appointment when people just show up late? Especially for the first call of the day. Hard to justify. The job itself takes less then 5 min and there is a ~$75 service charge plus another ~$30 for the re-key. The prices are absurd for how much the cost is. There are no issues with the service. The employees are good. But the owner needs to seriously re-asses their prices. I would not recommend this place or any other place in Calgary for that matter. Someone needs to open a locksmith business with fair prices.

Mostly good. The only bad was trying to book a service call. It took three calls to get an appointment. One the third call, the phone receptionist was excellent. Asked great questions and didn't pass me on to someone (like the first 2 calls) who didn't end up calling me back. The third call, the receptionist asked great questions, then booked an appointment. The locksmith (Ryan) came out, very professional and personal. Fixed the lock in 15 minutes. Rates were very reasonable. I would recommend them, just get the receptionist to book the appointment!

Wonderful service and staff! I went there to get my car door lock fixed for the first time, they managed to fix it then a couple weeks later it started to lock up again. I called they told me to come in they fixed it again under warranty no questions asked. A few months past(warranty expired) the door locks I give them a call, Steve R tells me to bring my car in and does one of the most amazing customer service I've ever experienced. They gave me a new key(old key warn out), re chipped the ignition and fixed the lock. I only paid for the new key which they took half the cost, I was very impressed and great full. Thank you!! I booked an appointment for a morning visit as I work for a Manager for a larger company two days in advance. I waited at home the whole morning with previous instruction I should recieve a 2 hour interval call that never occurred. Once noon passed I spoke to Brandy who informed me my time will be 1pm which no one before asked if this was ok and unfortunately I had to go back to the office. Dont use this company they will change the time of visits on you without notice.

The key to my condo just wouldn’t open the door and I was locked out. I called Calgary Lock and Safe and they dispatched Gary within the next hour to help out. The representative on the phone also tried that he came in before 5 PM so I don’t have to pay after hours charges, very customer centric! Gary arrived on site and understood the concern. He was very professional and courteous. He first tried to cut a duplicate key in the back of his van and when it did it not work, the next best option was to drill out the lock and change it. He told me the all included price beforehand and once we agreed, he did the job and did it pretty well. Before leaving, he requested for a vacuum cleaner to clean a small debris as a result of the drill and made sure he left the place better than when he had arrived.

Quick and reasonable cost. Arrived, had a look, tried to fix stuck deadbolt, determined no other way but to remove deadbolt by drilling through it. Completed the job in 30min. I installed new deadbolt myself. It was $76 for the service call and $95/hr for the work with a minimum charge of 1/2hr. The job took less than 1/2hr. So ended up paying $130 tax included.

I got a great tip from AMA/BCAA that these guys provide a service of re pinning your door lock (I think that's the right term) if you find yourself with out a key to get into your vehicle. It's more affordable if you take the door lock in yourself by taking your door panel off and uninstalling the lock portion yourself but they'll also take it off/out for you but it's a premium service. Just to know that this is achievable without taking out a second mortgage for a dealership visit is a relief. Great customer service here, don't hesitate to give them a call!

I called Calgary Lock and Safe and spoke with Rob, who was extremely polite and professional. He told me that they would take care of it and within 24 hours I had one of their technicians at my house. After using them to have my business keys cut in the past, I thought I'd give them a try for lock change job. It was for our business and we needed it done quickly. I was booked in for an appointment on a Friday. At 4pm I called to see where they were and they said they were running late so they wouldn't make it. No phone call or advance warning. You hear a lot these days about a lack of trust in reliable locksmiths; my experience with CLS was the complete opposite, from beginning to end. When I called to book the service, the employee on phone went the extra mile to try and help me diagnose the problem. Despite not being something I was able to do myself, I appreciated the effort and was able to have a tech come out the same day. During the service, the tech (Ryan) was very professional and followed all the protocols I could expect during COVID. Despite facing some initial challenges with fixing my lock, Ryan did not give up and found a fix that made the lock even smoother than before. Needless to say he did not stop there, as he helped to diagnose and fix a problem that potentially caused the lock to break in the first place. The cherry on top was that the cost was exactly in line with the quote. I would definitely recommend CLS for their services!

We recently had Calgary Safe and Lock install 4 “ Yale Real Living Locks” at our acreage home. When we first looked at these new type of locks, as Seniors we tended to be leary of the new technology. Not anymore. These locks are controlled right from our cell phones. With the location of the doors , in the past we constantly manually checked to see if all our doors were locked each night. Now we simply go to the menu on our phones and automatically lock all the doors without even getting up. This gives us such a feeling of safety ánd security. Best choice we have ever made on door locks. Our installer Ryan was a true professional. He went thru the menu system with us in detail and made sure we felt comfortable with the mobile application. I took in a vehicle key to have keyed to a new ignition lock and door lock on May 11th and the person at the counter said he would have this done no later than the next day and as early as that day, only a half hour job. He said he will call when it was done. No call came. I went to see if it was ready on the 12th and they asked if some one called me and I said no. It wasn't done, they said we will call you we are backed up. I called in to see if the changes were done on the 15th and they said they would call me. No call came. I went down there to get the lock back from them on the 16th and the lock was done and they said did someone call you and said no. They know how to key a lock but they have no service. I won't go back.

Excellent service! What a nice surprise in Calgary. We had a grip set installed by Calgary Lock & Safe and it seemed to make a bit of a grinding sound. I thought it might be due to the cold weather so I waited until the weather was warmer, but the sound remained. Two weeks later I called them and asked if someone could come and look at it. I was very pleasantly surprised when Adam called about an hour later to say he would be there in about 20 minutes. He explained that the sound was not a problem and that the strike plate had been set forward so that the door seal would be nice and tight to prevent cold air from entering, and he demonstrated this. In addition he showed me how to loosen it if I wished it to be more to my preference. Adam took a careful look at the door and also noticed that it did not hang squarely in the frame and explained why that was. He tightened all of the screws in the hinges and the door now hangs straight and closes very well. He noticed that one of the hinges might have a problem in the future and to keep an eye on it. He told me how Calgary Lock & Safe could fix this, in the future, if the problem occurred and I could not fix it myself.

I have been going to Calgary Lock and Safe for many years now for basic padlock purchases and key cutting so when I decided, 2 years ago, to add keyless entry to my home, I went to the place I knew would have the right solution. I had been searching and researching online but everything available at the big box stores, or online, all seemed to be cheap and flimsy. I made a choice from the available hardware on hand in the CL&S shop. Being a mechanic, I did the installation myself. There was a few months that went by where the lock worked exactly as it should but then it began to act up, making odd beeping sounds and throwing the deadbolt prematurely before the door was closed, etc. I contacted my original sales rep several times and was actually put in contact with the manufacturer's Canadian sales person but I never really got any support or answers from anyone, much to my disappointment. I had spent well over $500 on this lock system and despite it's durability, it's reliability was a far cry from being anything close to acceptable. Over the course of the next 18 months, I was promised some support and solution but it never came. I felt I was being patient and due to some staff changes, I believe my case had fallen through the cracks. At the 2 year mark, I decided I had been more than patient enough and I went in and asked for the boss. Stephen was very understanding and apologetic and asked what he could do to make things right. I explained that I wasn't asking for the world but that I just wanted a solution that would do what it said and that would suite my situation. We reviewed what I had and he did understand the challenges I was having so at least I did not have to spend much time pleading my case. We went over my needs and wants and I was shown the range of currently available products and Stephen provided his recommendations. I made my choice, despite some reservations that Stephen had expressed, and he agreed to order the product and do a 'straight exchange' for my trouble. It took a few weeks to receive the phone call telling me the lock was in stock but I was able to pick it up and promised to return the old set as soon as I could get to replacing it. This took several weeks as I became busy with other more urgent tasks. I was finally able to do the swap a few weeks ago now and am able to provide a review of the lock and my experience with how I was treated. The new lock is functioning as advertised and is even more convenient than the previous lock as it detects our cell phones as we approach our home and unlocks the door automatically so we don't even have to press a button on a key-fob. The better half is finding this to be extremely handy as she often has her arms full when she comes home from work. When I returned the original purchased system, I cautiously asked if there would be any chance of a 'refund' for the difference between the two units as it was a couple of hundred dollars cheaper for the new one (a fact I rack up to being due to advancements in production and technology). Stephen immediately and without begrudging my request, began to make the calculation to determine the difference. I did have the original receipt and he commented how that was of great help to him. Stephen graciously refunded the difference to my credit card and I thanked him for his willingness to work with me to solve my issues. He thanked me for my exceptional patience and asked if would leave an honest review of my entire experience. This is that review. While I am quite certain problems of this length of time are the exception rather than the rule, I have to say that Stephen and the staff at Calgary Lock and Safe were always willing to do whatever they could each and every time I went in to discuss the problems I was having. I am very happy with the eventual outcome and remain a loyal Calgary Lock and Safe customer and I highly recommend them for all your lock and key needs. They truly stand behind their products.

We used Calgary Lock & Safe for installation when we first moved in back in September 2011 for Avw Telav,, now Freeman AV. And had always called for the service whenever we had any lock issues, or re-keying locks that had to be done. We recently had a service done as my key got stuck in one of the door lock. It was an ongoing issue in the past but we were able to pull the key out and not think too much of it. When the service guy came to fix the door, we were told one of our door lock was not installed properly in the past, and the warranty was long over due. As this door is not used often, we did not really look into checking the issue of the lock. I sent an email of being disappointed after hearing the issue to the accounting team after receiving the invoice. In return, I had a response from Lavi that the company extended our warranty to cover the service that was done recently. What I am impress is how quick the turnover of my email was, and Lavi took the time to listen. We will continue using the company whenever we have any service needed, and give the recommendation of anyone to use their service. Thank you.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Had my lock repaired on the rear hatch of my van. It was sketchy, but worked when I left. I immediately brought it back the next day, as it worked every 5 times with the electronic device and very difficult to turn with the key to get it open. The locksmith immediately got it to work with the electronic key. So I left as I was busy working. Then the lock malfunctioned altogether about 3 months after. KEEP IN MIND, I used the lock 20 times maximum in 3 months, so you think it would work. The repair cost me $200!?!?! Now they will NOT honour fixing it and told me to go to a dealer.

Woke up Friday morning to leave for work(Nov 7th) to leave for woke, and when walking into my garage realized that someone had broken into our jeep parked outside and used the garage door opener to gain access into the garage. I was just in there 15 mins ago. Stood at the front desk for someone ... anyone to help me out. One gentleman was sitting at the desk with his face in his laptop and didn't look up once to greet me or to someone will be with you shortly. One gentleman came out from the back twice, he was helping the only other customer in the store. He didn't acknowledge me either and didn't stop for a second to say "Ill be right with you" or "someone will be out shortly to help you". NOTHING, not one word from anyone. As I stood at the front desk waiting. The other customer looked at me and went "wow" yeah WOW alright. So after a 15 min wait with not one person acknowledging that I was even there I left. I have always gone there for my business needs and well, not anymore. Way more friendlier and customer service when they were in their old bay.

I was told to order a blank Mercedes key and to bring it in and they would cut the key but they couldn’t program it. I ordered the key. When I brought it in to be cut they said it would be $65 to cut it but if they screwed it up I would still have to pay for the bad cut. I wish they would have been honest and said they don’t cut sidewinder keys and saved me the time and effort. Be very careful of a business that won’t stand behind their work. I have never herd of a locksmith cutting a key wrong and not standing behind their work . Definitely NOT a place to take an automotive key.

I came in at 4:57 p.m. on a Tuesday afternoon, told the guy at the front desk I only had one question and could come back the following day since I knew they close at 5 p.m. I showed them my condo mailbox key which Home Depot, Rona, Canadian Tire, and the shop behind the food court at Marlborough Mall couldn't duplicate correctly. "Can you duplicate this?" The guy (Steve was his name) who turned out to be the manager, said "Yes." I said all of the abovementioned shops couldn't get it right. The other guy at the front desk burst into laughter saying that was exactly what the guy who came before me said. Less than 5 minutes later, Steve handed me 2 copies of my key. I brought out my credit card, ready to pay. Steve said it was ok and I didn't have to pay since he wasn't sure it would work. I insisted to pay and told them I'd just come back if the keys didn't work. Steve nicely repeated what he had said. I left the shop with the resolve to come back and pay if the keys did indeed work. And they did! I came back today to pay and found out I only owe them $8 per their system. Wow! What amazing customer service from the guys at Calgary Lock and Safe! So here I am typing away your well-deserved positive review. Keep up the good work, guys!

After going to a few shops and having the keys not cut correctly, I tried out Calgary Lock & Safe. First try and the key works! Just went a second time and cut key works perfect. A shop that can actually cut keys that work! Also, the customer service is great as well! Highly recommended!

For some unknown reason my keys ended up locked in my car with the car running on a Saturday morning. I contacted my Auto Club ad it was going to take about 3 hours for them to assist. I contacted Calgary Lock and Safe to ask if they provide this service, the service tech said he could be there in about 30 minutes. The guy showed up was professional and personable, was into my car within 2 minutes. I could not have begged for better service and it was a lot cheaper than replacing my window.

Went to Calgary Lock and Safe to get a electronic deadbolt for my front door. First of all, the great job on the entrance. It looks like a safe and is pretty sweet! A guy named Jake helped me out. He was friendly, showed me my options, and helped me pick out a lock without trying to upsell me on things with features I didn’t need. I went with the Yale T1L. It seems to be well made and high quality. I also like the external 9 volt feature in case your battery’s die. I’ve had weiser and schlage in the past and the quality seems to be much better. 10/10 Will be going back to Jake for all my lock needs.

Poor workmanship . Brought in a 3rd party automotive key to be cut and was told no guarantee despite the $60 key cutting charge (Because the 3rd party key material is an unknown. -Really!) I was told that it's very rare that the key cutting would not work, so I took a chance that the agent knew how to cut a key. I was apparently wrong and the key was misaligned from top to bottom. One can see the difference between the original key and the poor copy. Obviously the key does not work in the ignition (before programming) so I've wasted my time and money. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND Calgary Lock and Safe.
