We bought a great set of locks a year or so ago from Always Affordable Locksmiths. At the time of installation the person arrived on time and was very efficient and friendly. We were happy. Then in November 2013, we were more than happy when a guy tried to break in to our house and was not able to because of the locks that Sandi and her team recommended. The guy damaged the door and the frame but was not able to get in! We have since had our door and frame replaced and had Always Affordable come back in to reinstall our new locks (same as last time). Our installer Jeff was not only on time but was pleasant, efficient and very helpful. He even did some onsite work that we hadn't asked for initially! We are thrilled and would 100% recommend Always Affordable Locksmiths.

I had a Sentry safe from Costco that I have had for years. I had it open about 3weeks ago and everything was fine. I tried to open it the other day and guess what I couldn’t remember the code. I came here looking to specifically purchase a high guard Mul-T-Lock padlock for my storage locker. The staff was fantastic, and very helpful! Sandra at the front desk was very helpful, Darrell kept me entertained with some stories, all while Chris pinned up my new lock. Whole thing took about 30 min to complete which, in reality, is fast service for this type of work, and the lock works great! The action is so smooth! Now I've got a great lock on my storage locker, which any thief will avoid given the time it would take to cut, break or pick this lock! Needed to rekey locks that were already taken off doors, another place tried to rip me off by charging a picking fee and a separate rekeying fee and would be a few days of service time. Very frustrated trying to give business to Always Affordable Always Available Locksmiths. I had a good experience with them 5 years ago when they helped with my business so I decided to ask them to do some work for my home. Before proceeding I simply wanted a quote for what the costs would be for locks on 4 doors. We had a new entry way / front door installed. With the new door, we wanted new hardware. I checked out a couple of local companies but settled on Always Affordable Always Available Locksmiths. They gave excellent advice instore when I went to look for the door handle and deadbolt. I wanted a keypad deadbolt so we wouldn't need to use a key. They talked me out of a more expensive Bluetooth enabled deadbolt because of security concerns. In short, the more convenient you make the lock, the less secure it becomes because there are additional vectors that can be used to defeat the lock. I scheduled a service call to have the factory strike plates from the door manufacturer replaced with the strike plates that came with the door hardware. The tech came on time, then talked me out of doing the replacement. He fully explained why; it would look ugly based on what was cut out for the factory strike plates and the factory plate provides just as much security as the hardware plates. I would have been more than happy to pay the service call charge for the education I received, but he wouldn't take it because there was nothing he would do on the call. There are still reputable companies out there that are truly customer focused. Highly recommended.

One of the greatest customer service companies I have ever dealt with. As a facility manager of a large private school I deal with many contractors and Lee, along with his team at Always Affordable, are the top of the ladder. We had a large job done where we installed over 40 intruder multi lock sets only to find out afterwards that there was a faulty mechanism from the manufacturer. Normally a manufacturer would only want to replace sets that were broken, but Lee went to bat and got them to replace them all. I highly recommend them and having used several different locksmiths as well, they are the best of the bunch.

I love when I can post a 5 star review after I came in with an issue. I had purchased an external lock box a couple months ago. It had stopped working and I was unable to get into it. I stopped past and Darrell helped me out. He gave me several suggestions and sent me on my way. I was able to open it and brought it in for inspection. Darrell again helped me. He took the time to test it, sprayed lubricant on it and made sure it was in great working order before he gave it back to me. I’m happy to say that it’s working great. My boyfriend locked his keys in his car and this was the third locksmith we called. Every other place wanted $100+ and weren’t clear about how long they were going to take. We waited an hour for another guy just to call him back and have him hang up on us. Called this place and there was an immediate answer, the lady on the other end was very kind and direct. She gave me a $50 quote plus tax and that’s exactly what it came out to. The guy who came to get my boyfriends keys was very professional and fast. All around we highly recommend them.

While I felt Sandra, in particular, gave us excellent customer service, we were extremely disappointed by the installer. He hand-chisled a hole in our brand-new, $1,200 fiberglass door to get the lock in (something you should only do with a WOOD door, according to my contractor who has been installing doors and locks for 30 years With fibreglass doors, you need to router the hole). This technique could have easily split the door. Luckily it didn't, but it looks awful and the plate did not sit flat. When my husband pointed this out to the owner of this company, he argued with him and said our contractor didn't know what he was talking about. Then he tried to say that he'd "already given us a deal" because the installer had come by our house twice to install our two locks, and they were only charging us for one trip. When, in fact, that arragement for him to come twice for one price was made WELL IN ADVANCE because one of the two locksets we ordered from this company was backordered two months (even though we were told it would be a one-month wait). And so, the installer HAD to come twice to install the two locks. The owner ended up offering us a measly 10 per cent off the cost of labor. Furthermore, the lever on the fibreglass door broke after two months. When my contractor investigated it, he found that the installer had purposely BROKEN the plate off the lever (SEE ATTACHED PHOTO) to fit it into the pre-cut hole in the door, which destroyed the integrity of the lever. We spent $80 replacing the lever on our own dime because we didn't want to have to deal with the owner of this company again since he was so extremely rude to us.

We had a break in at our optometry office and called Always Affordable to come and repair our lock and make some security suggestions. The receptionist couldn't book us in same day unless it was after hours. That said, she was incredibly kind, empathetic to our problem and we were honestly thrilled they could do it the same day at all! I'm sorry I didn't catch her name because I'd like to give her a shout out for being pretty awesome. Their locksmith Dave came by that afternoon and was able to fix our lock and install a metal plate right away. He was incredibly efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. The plate was the wrong colour and he said it would take about 4-6 weeks to get in a bronze plate (this was totally not an issue and our clinic was protected. It just a cosmetic thing we wanted to fix). Literally two days later, he managed to get his hands on the plate we needed and installed it. Take about speedy service! I can't express how happy we are with the service from start to finish. The people were great, the solution was great and the service was incredible. If I ever need a locksmith in the future I can guarantee you these guys will get my business and I'm going to recommend them to everyone. Just awesome.

The person at the front did a good job but was not good at listening and communicating with me. Always begin communications with people listening to understand them rather than listening in order to respond to them. Think of customers to be like unique and delicate locks. Jamming your input impedes solving their problems. The customer service representative should begin their turn to talk after the client has expressed themselves by summarizing what the customer has told them and THEN they can offer a unique solution to the customer's problem. Following this advise will win over more repeat customers. People do business with people they know and like. This is very advanced stuff.

I bought a used vehicle with only one key and wanted a spare key cut. Paul helped me and was fantastic! The fact that the service is mobile itself is so convenient. He was able to take a look at the key, cut it, and try it on my vehicle in 15 minutes or so! He was very nice and thorough in making sure the key was done properly. Run away from this place don’t walk Installer came to our new home and put bars on the basement windows. When he left there were black marks all over both walls. Not sure what he was doing as he had a small ladder. We were very upset and surprised he didn’t say what he did when he was here. Brand new developed basement. Called 3 times to speak to someone over 3 days. No one called me back!!Was told a manager would contact me each time. Then Kevin contacted me said he was the manager and not Sandy. He had too many excuses and told me things happen and he can’t do anything for me. It what happens when trades do work in homes. Was asking for $35 to reimburse from cleaning products to clean the walls. He said we don’t do that. Very argumentative. Told him things happen and to own up to it and a reputable company would do something and apologize and move on. He refused and was very argumentative and didn’t really care!! Was like I was nothing to them. Used this company 7 years ago spent $1000 each time for special locks and $1000 this time. The service has changed and way over priced compared to other companies. Different company now. I recommend using a different company if you don’t want to be over charged and have to clean up after the locksmith!!

Had an issue with a purchase that I made, damaged by the shipper. Kevin was extremely professional and respectful, and made the situation right. A measure of a business' customer service is how they respond to when a customer presents an issue to them. Do they respond quickly, not at all, or only after a customer has pestered them enough and the customer is very frustrated? Always Affordable was EXTREMELY responsive, respectful, and even though I had a problem it was still a pleasant experience. Definitely recommend them whether you have in depth security needs, or just need a new padlock.

Went there to get the keys cut, I dropped off the keys with the younger blond and told her that I will be back in 10-15 mins to pick it up. In that time there was no customer so I assume that it will be ready by the time I get back. After 15 mins I came back and asked the older blond lady that I come to pick up the key. She asked me " for who?".. such a *** question she asked. Instead of asking me what my name is or ask if she will take a look if it is ready. She just said wait for the other guy to help me instead while she is sitting in front of the computer and doing her stuffs. Been waiting for a while and found out that they haven't done anything. Basically, there is no communication between the one who took the order and the guy who does the work. Lack on smiling or apologize for the wait or anything.

Only use this company if you want to be over charged and ignored! I called this company to get a quote, the guy came out, got his $68.25 and then I never heard from the company again. I was getting security glass put on a few windows, or at least I thought I was. After three weeks of not hearing from this company, I decided to call someone else...but I made the mistake of accidentally calling the same company. The woman, who admittedly, was very professional and helpful, told me there was two grades of thickness, a 8mm and 16mm...she used the word "commercial" for the 16mm, so I asked her if the 8mm would be sufficient and she said yes. I was talked into the 16mm, by the man who came out and quoted me...of course I was, because it's double the price!!! Then she found out that I had already got a quote and I explained that no one ever contacted me again. So she told me someone named Axel would be contacting me and that if I hadn't heard from him in 2 days to call them back. It's been over a week, nothing. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? Sure, I'll go out of my way to chase you down to spend over $600...Good lord, it's a shame there's no follow up or customer service these days. I refuse to have to chase a company down for customer service...clearly Always Affordable, Always Available are far too busy to add another client. They should re-name their company "Never Affordable, Never available!! Don't bother people, go to another company that actually wants and cares about your business!

May 11 2019 Purchased a key from these guys April 2017 for my 4runner when i bought it. They programmed the chip and it worked great for over two years until i went shopping at MEC one day. Went into the store after making two other stops. Came back out and the truck wouldn't start, seamed like a fuel pump. So i towed it home for $ 150, i trouble shot the fuel pump back to my C/O relay and called my mechanic who came by and confirmed we were not getting a run signal from the ECM. Diagnosed every relay in the box and nothing wrong with anything. We were starting to suspect the ecm was pooched when my mechanic said, “do you have another key?” Sure do, i grab it from inside and truck starts and runs great. So after 2 hours of mechanic trouble shooting fees (6 hours of my own time) and another $ 200 later; I head down to Affordable Locksmiths where i bought the key from for $110. "Tell them my story" and they want to charge $60 to reprogram the key they sold me that failed. Some customer service that is. May 13, 2019 I am responding to the post by Affordable locksmiths: If dropping a key will cause it to fail, you should inform your customers of that when selling them the key, not after the key has failed. Not all transponders are made of glass, the one you sold me was which was broken with out any damage to the key itself. If you only offer a 1 year warranty you should inform your customers of that before selling them a key for $110. I think a key is a key it should work until I destroy it or loose it. Toyota charges $135 with an unlimited warranty. I did not request a free key, I requested you to reprogram the key you sold me 2 years before. With the broken transponder your cost would likely be $5-7 depending on your order volume from your supplier and the labor is about 15 Minutes all-in. Which you want to charge me another $60 for a fragile key. Comparing a key to a cell phone is inappropriate. Lets compare the Key you sell for $110 1 year warranty to Toyota's key for $135 (unlimited warranty, "we have never had a Toyota key fail"). Finally, I told you this whole story of being stuck at MEC, paying 350 to get the truck home, cost of mechanical troubleshooting while in the store. You still thought $60 was a good price to reprogram the key, despite me telling you I would never shop in your store again, and would tell everyone I know. My final words to you were "I am sorry to hear that, I really enjoyed recommending you guys". I will be posting a Utube Video to help people troubleshoot their 4Runners this afternoon and will make sure I cover your exceptional customer service.

First I phoned a "cheap" company quoting $19 for an open-up on their website - I felt super uneasy with the phone call, hung up and phoned Always Affordable next. Here I was met with professional service on the phone and a detailed quote. Darrell arrived at my door within an hour - which was the timeline given to me on the phone - and presented me with proper identification. He was then able to open and repair my lock in the most affordable way for me. He kept me informed through the process, gave me options for further service, and made honest suggestions about how to prevent another lock-out in the future. When I accessed the company website to leave a review I saw that they have an entire page dedicated to informing customers about locksmith scams - this is awesome to see! I am so glad I trusted my senses and hung up on the first "company" I called. I will definitely be keeping Darrell's card in my wallet for future use!

We ordered and paid in full for a safe for our retail operation near Calgary in mid July. We were told our safe would be delivered in the second week of August. It is now October and no safe. We have received a multitude of excuses, the sales person Sandra did not take our concerns about lack of delivery seriously. I recomend that anyone thinking of using their service not to do so. I used their service in 2008 to have electronic door locks installed. Since the keys that fit the electronic lock was the same as the back door the locksmith offered to match up the keys. I didn't ask for it, it was offered. Would use AAAA again.

I came into the store to look for private locks for our bedroom door. There were several people waiting in a line, maybe key pick up or something. So I waited behind the group but it seemed like nobody was getting help at all, but there was lady in the side counter just staring at the lineup of people doing nothing. I decided to leave the line and just look around the store. Finally the same lady decided to help, but every question I asked her about locks was followed by quick snappy answer like I should know the answers. But you call the office- these ladies do not care about customer service, nor do the ladies feel ashamed when speaking to someone rudely... I was not expecting a service charge nor was I told about it, and when I called to inquire and confirm what the tech was telling me, I got nothing but attitude from the girl who answered the phone, and she clearly said to me "What's wrong with you picking up the phone and cancelling your appointment".. Ok mistakes happen when you are running a business.. This is not a residential call, but a business call.. but WOW!! So then she irritatedly sends me to the manager, and she was a whole heap of fun too.. When I told her what this girl said, she was still on the topic of the service charge that I had just called to confirm, and she "apologized" for this lady, but clearly to them I was in the wrong.. "Customers" should be told, or it should be on their website that their is a minimum service fee when the customer makes an appointment, and then their will not be any questions... The customers should not be surprised by this, or according to these ladies "I should just know this" like it's common knowledge. Then I got the attitude, and they still walked away with the money... I hope it goes just to the tech because this guy deserved it, and those ladies were horrendous to deal with. Either they are not people persons or they are just ignorant to what "Customer Service" means.. I felt bad for the poor tech because ultimately we made the mistake in calling him out, and we didn't need anyone, so I got him to do something for me anyways... But WOW!!

I have a Weiser front door handle with the thumb lever that wouldn't allow the door to open. The inside mechanism was worn out. I took it back to Home Depot but because I didn't have the original receipt - there was nothing they could do for me. They suggested I try Always Affordable Locksmiths. I've used them in the past and have been happy with their service so decided to give them another visit. I expected to have to leave the handle their for a day or two but I was delighted to know that if I waited 5 minutes, the internal mechanism would be replaced and back to me without delay. Locksmith came over, Said there "was nothing he could do" to help open our multi-point locking system which was jammed shut (the mechanism inside was faulty). Instead of helping us he simply gave me a phone number to call and charged me $65 for his "advice". I was so stunned I could hardly believe it, then he wanted to engage in small talk! I was flabbargasted. So his "advice" was to call window and door companies, who gave me the run around. All they do is install new ones not repair them. After 7 phone calls like this I attempted another locksmith. We talked and I told him the issue, he offered to come over and look at the issue, only charging if he was going to take on the project. He completed it, and did something the Always Affordable guy said he couldn't do, which was replace it with a different lock (no multi-point). The multi point was worth $1500 and would have to be sent from Europe. It appears this gentlemen was just not interested in getting the work done, just leaving me with a permanently locked front door. I will never call Always Affordable again, because their "advice" was not only unaffordable, it was wrong.

This is the worst company I've ever dealt with. The technician rekeyed our new house and one of the keys did not work causing us to be locked out. He never tested anything in front of us. He was busy trying to sell expensive locks. When I called them the horrible 'customer service' lady yelled at me and wouldn't let me speak. She said we have to come to their shop to be given a key (both me and husband have demanding jobs and travel for work) or we can be charged a service call for them to come to fix their mistake. When I tried to reason she yelled saying their technicians test all keys. She way implying I am a liar? I asked her if she's serious about yelling at me. Will definitely never work with this company and will never recommend them to anyone. If you value your time and money stay away from Affordable Keys!!!!

Lost my key fob and called their mobile service. Bought a nice looking premium $290 fob from the technician that doesn’t open the back door on our SUV. The technician suggested he copied the key properly and it’s the (“premium”) fob I just purchased. ??? Okay... so maybe this is my lack of understanding. I just bought key programming with a premium fob and the fob doesn’t open the back hatch as the OEM key. A shoulder shrug and off he went. No premium fob and IMO no premium service.

I was referred to affordable by a key cutter at one of the big box Hardware store. They could not copy a few padlock keys so he told me to go to affordable. I was met by a friendly staff and given great service. I was most impressed as the keys I wanted cut were for padlocks on a house oversees. My experience with Always Affordable Locksmiths (AAL) was AWESOME! We inherited an old but very sturdy four drawer filing cabinet without a key and were told by another company that it would be impossible to re-key it. I made another call, reached AAL and spoke with Ty who helped me to problem solve the situation. We discussed several alternatives. Ty offered suggestions that would minimize our costs and by the end of the day my husband had dropped by the store, had a key cut and it worked. I found Always Affordable Locksmiths on a list of the ten best locksmiths in Calgary. I had other business in the area, so chose them. I was not sorry. I took an old trunk that had been locked accidentally (apparently this happens regularily). I found the staff very friendly and professional when discussing the options. I was 5 minutes away when I received a call that the technician had been able to make a key and had opened the trunk without any damage! What great service! The cost was very reasonable. Horrible horrible experience with this company. I locked myself out of my car with my keys in the ignition and dead. I called these people expecting them to be able to unlock my car doors. When they arrive, the employee couldn’t unlock any of my car doors. The best he could do is unlock my car hood. My car hood. That’s it. For 90 dollars. I told the employee I wasn’t going to pay full price for just unlatching my hood so I asked for discount. The employee called his manager, some stooge named Lee Alderman if we can get a discount on the fact that they couldn’t open my car doors for me. Lee Alderman starts crying over the phone because I’m telling him I don’t want to pay for q full service I never got. What he proceeds to tel me is because I failed to give a full description of the keys being in the ignition and the car being dead that it’s not his fault. First, they never asked for the description of the situation the car was in. When I wanted to describe to them that the situation for the car they just said that they go through the passenger door and it doesn’t matter if the keys are in the ignition and they just asked for the year and the make (Which when the employee showed up, he got the wrong information from their dispatcher and didn’t even know what vehicle he was looking for) Second, the employee just told me “We have to work with what we got to open the door” This guy couldn’t even open the door to my car because it was too hard for him, so he settled for pulling the hood latch. I asked for you to open my car not my hood. When I try to ask for a discount the manager instructed the employee to go and close my car hood too. I end up paying the 90 dollars because I just want to go home which was a big mistake on my part because I basically let these people scam me. Anyways Lee Alderman, the manager and stooge of this place. I can’t believe he started crying over 90 dollars. This man owns a villa in Malta, something he’s obviously proud of when he’s showing it off on his YouTube Channel, and he’s crying over 90 dollars he’s trying to rip off. Terrible, terrible service.

Instead, they used the most extreme excuses why the lock is failing. Try to avoid purchasing any locks from this company, unless you like spending the same amount on a service call, that could have been solve by helpful front end staff.

I called this company to come and repair a lock that wasnt working on a patio door. i sent a video of how the lock wasn't working ( seemed jammed). the tech responded , after receiving and watching video, that it was a special type of lock and they would send a trained tech, for this type of lock , out for repair. i set up an appointment that was three days after the call, On the morning of the appointment i receive a call from the dispatcher stating that the tech would not be coming because he thought , after watching video, he probably could not repair the door. I i asked why i wasn't informed of this bfore this morning. the dispatcher made poor excuses, like we tried to call yesterday... a lie because my phone lists all incoming calls wether recerived or not. The dispatcher then started to make other excuses and was very defensive of their actions. no apology for their behaviour. i took the morning off work to be there for the tech. he didnt even bother to investigate the lock issue. the dispatcher was very rude. called another company, sos services, they came out within one hour and repaired lock. excellent service and reasonably priced. DO NOT USE ALWAYS AFFORDABLE>

I was just looking for a quote and it was really difficult to reason with the receptionist. While I'm at work she asked for me to share my location and started texting me... I don't think that was professional but most places wouldn't do that. Gave them the exact location and still wouldn't give me a quote.

Let me start by telling you I won a prize package on the radio and was lucky enough to receive my products for free (which I am so thankful for). Not that that should make a difference in any situation regarding customer service, but from personal experience, it does. Jeff from Always Affordable was over today to install new multi locks on both of my doors as well as my garage door. I was told my locksmith would arrive between 9/10 am and Jeff arrived ready to go at 9am. Not only was Jeff extremely friendly, but he took the utmost care with my installations and my property. He even made sure that my two cats did not escape during his time in the house. He made sure to teach me how to use my pin pad lock correctly and answered all my questions regarding programming, he is extremely knowledgeable, and incredibly good at his job. Now Google reviews... I will never lie to you, there were a few hiccups on the office side of things, that were frustrating. Some unexpected (data base crash and my entire order list was lost) as well as what I consider disappointing and distressing customer service skills. I was given what I consider a "non-apology apology", or "backhanded apology" by someone in management. The issues we had involved the service received (as I was told because of my prize win I had to do everything with management), the service call (only having one man arrive when I was told I must have 2 for the job/circumstances), returning calls (from management) as well as my quoted invoice and pricing. At one point not only was I told I was reading things (emails and quotes) incorrectly but that there were "so many emails back and forth" it was hard to understand what was being asked and ordered. Only to be told in the end I was correctly reading it the entire time, insert the apology stated above. THEN I was told (by management) I would have to REBOOK my appointment to get the job completed as it DOES require two people, when this appointment was booked for a week in advance, AND when my quote states what needed to be done was a two-person job into a basement. But my absolute favorite was when I was told I already apologized what more do you want me to do, when I tried to explain my concerns. If any of my time in any management position I have ever held, in any job, has taught me anything, it is that if you treat people like this, they usually will never return for your services. If I had ever acted the way I was treated by management during this experience, the owner would have stepped in and I would have lost my job. However, Jeff did everything he could to make sure I was completely satisfied and happy with my new home security system. 10/10 Would personally ask for Jeff as a locksmith again. I have never had such amazing customer service from someone before in my entire life. Always Affordable is exceptionally lucky that they have someone like Jeff whose customer service skills really do exceedingly pass others. I want to personally thank Jeff for turning a discouraging experience, for what was supposed to be the most exciting radio win, into a great one. Thank you Always Affordable for hiring such an excellent locksmith as well as for the amazing radio prize.

Excellent customer service from the super nice lady who answered my call to the amazing and friendly locksmith that came the same day around my schedule. Andrew was amazing, friendly and courteous. Explained everything he was doing and how much it would cost. The price was less than half of what other companies quoted me. I could not believe they came the same day, the other companies I called could not. I will use them again and will refer them to all. Thank you so much.????????????????
