REVIEWS OF Ally Bank IN Windsor

After years of banking with Ally, I'm done. The customer service is an absolute joke. My debit card expires this month, and I called multiple times this month and was told a new one would be sent to me this month....nothing. Just called again and was told that no card has been setup to be sent to me. The lady then told me that she'd work to send me one, however, I would have to pay a fee to have my card sent to me. I told her I refused to pay for Ally's screwup, and proceeded to wait on the phone for an additional 20+ minutes. My wife and I are going to start shopping around and looking at other banks.

NEVER BANK WITH THEM AND STOP NOW. I used to be a customer of almost 10 years and carried deposits with them but left after their wiring department was incompetent for my personal transactions. But worse, my client was party to a real estate transaction and ordered a wire. Ally Bank initiated the wire but their fraud department snagged the transaction for review for 9 hrs WITHOUT NOTIFYING ANYONE. This caused my client to be in breach of contract and lose thousands of dollars for no good reason. NEVER BANK WITH ALLY!

Took an extra payment out of my account without my permission. They said they would cut me a check that would take 10 business days. Mean while 3 other of my check bounce. They said it wasn't thier fault and refusef to give the amount. Sucks in a nice word for them.

Today Jaran H. premier protection roadside assisted me over the phone. He needs to be promoted and recognized for his professionalism even more so for having a moral compass and righting a wrong that was made with the previous representative. I will always respect a company as well as patronize businesses who possess the same characteristics... Thanks again Jaran H.! You rock

I DO NOT RECOMMEND!! My boyfriend and I are financing a car through them and they keep increasing the price for no reason. When you call them out and they don't get what they want they will start calling your family, even when you didn't give them their number!!

I wished I can do a minus star .⭐️ Ally Bank is trash worst customer service their Lost Prevention team are simply a bunch of liars,I will definitely advise everyone to stay away from Ally Bank as you can see it’s not a personal matter just go ahead and read the other reviews and you’ll see what I’m talking about .

Horrible company for auto loans. Scammers by choice. They wait in prey for a accidental missed payment no notification of any kind until they threaten to take your vehicle. Payments are hard as hell to make whether by phone or app. Then this other services charges you to make a payment. They send you to some other service "expresspay: for payment. Then you have to call wth a ton of information about making the payment. Money Laundering? Hummm

The Trader Sam

Send payout letter with wrong letter head address. Payment was returned, then they wanted to blame me for the late payment..

Tracy Holt-Mancuso

The savings rates may look attractive, but if you have trouble there is no where to go to get your money back. I’m fighting to have my CD accounts released because my husband could not verify a deposit we made when he called to update our address. Beware online banks like this that have no branches.

This is the worse financial experience ever!!! I pay my bill on time till we have a family accident and thanks God no one hurt but unfortunately our lovely Jeep was totaled. my insurance paid the today value and GAP supposed to pay the remaining balance. however, GAP came short approx.$690 due dealership fail to cancel all warranties. Ally in other hand hit me twice with late fees and every time I call I tried to explain but they said it's a monthly payment and never listen to my when I say it's payoff payment and still working with GAP. EVERY TIME I ASKED TO TALK TO A SUPERVISOR THEY REFUSE AND PASS ME ARROUND BETWEEN AGENTS ALLY DON'T CARE ABOUT CONSUMERS. WE ARE NOT WORTH IT TO TALK TO A SUPERVISOR.

Breanna Vinson

terrible company, charge whatever interest they feel like and NOT the fixed rate I was approved for. Also, getting negative reports on my credit report saying balance increased when there is no possible way my car loan can increase when it is paid on time every month. SCAM of a bank.

Michael Sims

WASTE OF TIME!!!! A business partner and I recently opened a joint account. There is absolutely NO customer support. Took thirty minutes to get in touch with someone about a log …

Kimberly A. stretch

Horrible in Customer service and their horrible at keeping records, etc etc! Just all around they truly have everything so messed up!! Just don't get the random issues they continue to drop at my feet!! Smh!!

Terry Fowler

ALLY sent a letter with "ALLY" letter head and ALLY phone number saying ALLY either rejected or appoved a loan through based on pulling my credit. But when the reasons for approval or denial on the ALLY letter DO NOT MATCH the reporting agency that the ALLY letter listed i am told by an ALLY employee that "No one at ALLY can explain this discrepancy", and they referred me to contact the company i was getting the loan for. The company that had NO contact with the reporting agency and NO control over the decisions that ALLY makes.

-5 STARS. It's 2021 almost anything can be done electronically. Not this bank; No e-mail communications, No faxing and mailing is below-par. Do banking, car loans and any other financial business elsewhere.

Have not been here physically but I called customer service 3 times because I didn't have access to my account and I needed the money on the same day. The first 2 people said, "We'll contact you in 3 days. We don't have enough information to help you right now." The third person gave me access to my account on the same day and offered to help me change the account settings.

Carissa J

So I've had this account for two days and let me tell you this is super sketch. Like, really sketch. In the past two days alone, my password has had attempts at being changed like 5 times. My phone banking PIN was changed. I had nothing to do with this. I didn't try to change my password, I didn't try to change my telephone banking pin. Called the bank to express my concerns of being hacked, and apparently "loss prevention" is changing my password? Loss prevention is trying to hack me? That's really weird. So basically I'm being hacked within like two days of having this account and now I have to close it and they're making it a huge hassle. Still trying to get on the phone with "loss prevention" to figure out why they're changing my password and my pin numbers of an account that isn't even a week old. Good thing I haven't even gotten the chance to put any money in the account :)

My experience with customer service resulted in zero attempts to solve or even suggest alternative options to mediate my issue. In fact, I experienced no discussion at all, merely a “No” and a “we will put a note in your file.” I cannot recommend this financial institution and will not use them again. (My issue and resulting request were not complex, and the bank actually suggests that it offers solutions for similar issues.)

Chad Streb

This pertains to Ally Invest... They never responded to anything in a timely manner - I went to wire the balance of my account and they began dragging their feet and making it take as long as possible.. Highly recommend going elsewhere if you want a responsive team handling your investments.

John Kendall

Still waiting on payoff release. Each time we call, it's a different story. We have been waiting for a month. My wife waited on hold for over 3 hours today just to talk to someone. Surprise, no one ever answered. Not impressed. If you are gonna do business, get with the times, or get out!

Chris Black

Trying to offset some of the flood of negative reviews, because while they're not perfect, they're definitely not 1-star worthy. It's true, Ally is not your typical branch banking experience. If you're looking for hand-held perfect and in person customer service, you'll want to go with a local credit union, especially one that doesn't have a call center. However, if you're like me, a bit techy, and manage 90% of your finances online, and don't care as much about person-to-person service, Ally is great. I switched to them primarily because they had the best rates on savings accounts and CDs out of anyone, especially major banks/credit unions who haven't changed their .10% since the 2008 recession. Important to note that part of the reason they have these rates is because they HAVE NO BRANCHES or HAND-HELD SERVICE. My only negative experience (which is why I deducted a star) was when I was trying to close on my house. I submitted a wire transfer request during my closing appointment in the morning at 9:30-10 AM Eastern. Wire transfers typically take a couple of hours to turn around but are deposited same day. The cutoff for wires on same-day transfers is typically 3 PM Eastern, which I believe is imposed by the federal reserve, not any particular bank. My realtor and title agent followed up with in the early afternoon saying the wire hadn't cleared. I had to call Ally 3 times throughout the day, just to figure out what the status was, whether they got the request, ensuring it was authorized and not in limbo, and whether it had even cleared. It did finally clear same-day, but I would have appreciated a bit more transparency, especially during such a critical time for my family.

Terrible, terrible, business! These people are rude, vindictive, and do it with a smile on their face. Ally Bank should not be in business. We are reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and I strongly urge ever other person who posted negative reviews to do the same.

DO NOT FINANCE YOUR VEHICLE WITH ALLY!!! By far this is the worst experience I have ever had the misfortune of going through. All is well as long as there isn’t any issue with your account. I used Ally a second time to finance my 2017 Chevrolet Colorado. Long story short I had issues with my vehicle which were never addressed so I filed a lemon law claim against the car manufacturer. I won my case and was in the process of having General Motors send the payoff to Ally. I called Ally beforehand and explained what was happening and that I was requesting a payoff. I made a very specific request which was continually ignored and I spent many hours on the phone attempting to correct the issue and get the appropriate documents GM required. After that was all done I explained to Ally that I cannot make anymore payments since the request would need to be completely re-evaluated if any changes were made on the amount I currently owed. On July 8, 2018 I reached out to Ally to ask for an extension on my due date which was July 24, 2018. They refused this request and I also asked to have the payment added to the end of my loan which was also denied. I explained that this was the second loan I had with Ally and I had never missed any payments and completely paid off my first loan of $65,000. I reiterated the fact that I had no control over when they would revive the payment but I couldn’t make any more payments as this would change everything. All they told me was that it wouldn’t be late until 30 days after the due date so no help on their part. The payment had not even been late more than 5 days and I was harassed every single day by collections for the payment. Once I had enough I explained the representative that I had called on on many occasions to let Ally know what was going on at every stage. It seemed they didn’t believe my story with the lemon law buyback from GM so I stated I would provide my lawyers information so they could verify what I was saying was true. At this point they discontinued talking to me regarding my account although I had explained the lawyer was for the lemon claim and wasn’t for them. That took time to correct but I finally got access to my account. They reported me as being 30 days late to the credit bureau although I continually explained the situation and kept Ally informed of the status every step of the way. I requested they remove this derogatory information but denied it. I was also reported a second time of 30 days late although my loan had already been paid. Thanks Ally. I have filled a dispute with the credit bureau. This company is completely eased up and not willing to work with customers so this is my honest review of you. Oh and you’re welcome on the BBB claim should be heading your way. You will not get another penny of my money and I would recommend that no one ever use this business. Update 11/28/2018: The insanity continues which made me so angry I had to return here to let everyone know. My vehicle has been paid off for months now and a refund was finally issued for my warranty and service package. I figured this would be as easy as them receiving the refund check and then cutting me a check. This process has taken an additional month and I still do not have my money. I finally got word they mailed it but wow this is just stupid. My warranty refund was issued and Ally admitted to having the refund check. They explained that it took 10 days to process and bunch of other mumbo jumbo which added up on the timeframe when I would get my money back from them. They harassed me every single day at all hours when they thought I still owed them money and now that they owe me money I am chipped liver. BBB complaint is coming your way again. What a useless company please beware my friends.

1/26/22 I'm on the phone now! I've spoken to 4 Agents. None if them speak English and refuse to let me speak to a Supervisor they refused. I was put on hold for 10 mins only to be asked the same info that was asked when I was put on hold! Being denied to speak to someone who speaks English is not right.

Ally is literally the worst company to have an auto loan with. Everyone in customer service is unknowledgable. Each time you call you’ll get a different person who will tell you something different. They don’t review previous notes from previous calls about the same situation as if it isn’t in order from date and time. They also don’t document after a conversation. I had to have them pull the previous call because they kept insinuating that I was lying about a previous conversation. I can not wait to pay off this car or find a way out of this situation because they are horrible. I would not recommend any of their services to anyone I know and I hope YOU reading this comment also rethink any decision think you want to make with Ally.

Leigh-Anne Clabby

I don’t know why there are so many 1 star reviews for Ally... I’ve had nothing but good experiences with them! The wait for customer service is always less than 4-5 minutes, the employees are always polite and helpful, and they have been able to resolve any issues that I’ve had. It does seem like it takes longer for checks to process, but I don’t usually mind. I’ve had an account with them since 2013 or 2014, and I always recommend them when people are looking for a new bank.

Jerome Poisac

I just try to open a checking account. - a basic operation- A month later it was still not done. Each time they screwed something up in the application and asked me to re-apply. 3 times!!! I gave up.

waseem “Waseem Vlogs” _ yousif

Don’t ever take anything from this bank because they are really bad the have the worst costumer service And it’s not even 1 star it’s 0

Alicia Smith

This bank let me set up an account and then I transferred money....then they froze my account. So this bank that I have been with for 2 days has a lump sum of money of mine and locked me out of my account. I talked with the customer service and they said they could not verify my identity.... I have three homes. Maybe that was the case? BUT I told the woman on the phone...I am in business. You have my money and now want to further verify my identification. I suggested MAYBE you should have done that BEFORE you allowed a customer to open an account and transfer money over. NO. Freeze the account and forward me to Fraud to speak to some other lady that is not in the office at the moment. It is okay, I have other accounts BUT wellsfargo or any other bank would never do this. They want me to email my social security card and other IDs...this is not safe. Gmail is not secure. I am at a lost. I open an account to make some high level interest and I then get locked out of my account and my funds are not available to me until I talk with fraud. What a horrible feeling...like cyber space stole my money. Will get this resolved within a couple of days BUT man...this would be a great time to go into a local bank and chat in person with someone. I feel disconnected with my money and I feel like I trusted some random online bank. I am in my twenties so no issue with technology here! Go to your local bank, if there are any issues...it will be fixed.

Erica Bauer

Great rates, great customer service, highly recommend as I am going into my third year with checking and savings.

Paul Flood

They say your checks have been deposited and cleared then hold them ransom for 5 days because you over drafted keeping your account at a negative balance, which makes no sense as they have been cleared and they tell you "money is in your account" . Such an awful practice and very predatory, do not bank with them

Robert Lane

BEWARE Worst Bank there is. no communication just horrendous. Youve been warned

Mike Reitzloff

Do I have to give any stars?? Same as others are complaining about, I have been on the phone with them for almost an hour as I write this review right now. I've spoken with a person for a total of MAYBE 2 minutes of that time. She was very unfriendly and unhelpful. I had an auto loan through them with gap coverage. The vehicle was wrecked 2 months ago. They still haven't paid the gap off, and it's on my credit report. Apparently there was a missing document, which they could have obtained themselves, but I ended up providing it 11 days ago. They said it would take 3 - 5 days to complete the claim. It's still not completed. This girl just said they haven't done anything with the information and it will take another 3 - 5. Meanwhile, this is on my credit report preventing me from purchasing another vehicle. Definitely will NOT be using this bank ever again.

Herbert Boykin

I DO NOT RECOMMEND ALLY BANK! I financed a vehicle with Ally. After paying my last car payment and fees( the pay off amount they said I owe ) they have yet to allocate my last payment and fees correctly. They said once you make a payment over your monthly payment we will allocate the rest to the principal balance. Again, this was my last payment, so they should have use the rest to pay the fees that was on the account leaving me a 1.00 credit. It’s been three weeks and they still haven’t done it and are claiming I owe them. After calling a few times and I ask to speak to someone in America they put me on hold then drop my call. My next step is filling a complaint with the BBB. ????????

Nick Spencer

Paid my loan off in full, they updated my credit report with a false unknown amount, and now they refuse to update my credit properly because of poor internal processes that prevent them from doing so. Really bad company. DO NOT get your loan through them.

Marlando Laud

As a 100% online banking institution they should have robust security options like multi factor authentication for access to your account.

Gordo Radford

Don't use bill pay. It sucks. Customer service is only capable of reading a script and not thinking for themselves. They also utilize some stupid service called "pop money" to makes transfers. Took SEVEN days to do a direct transfer (bank to bank), with routing number and checking account number. This type of transaction should take no more than 2 hours, not a full week!

Matt Bakker

Horrible experience when a problem developed on our account. Ally took payment in full, but failed to post it. Continued to take payments after having been paid in full.

john martin

Like many other complaints: ally auto will delay updating your credit history. (This stalled closing on my house by TWO WEEKS! And ultimately pay an additional 500 for closing fees.) They prey on people with poor/average credit.

Jeffery Powell

I purchased a vehicle from a firm that had financed through Ally. My bank sent the payoff to Ally EXACTLY as instructed which was by mail. Ally was a total pain in the backside to deal with. Customer service will give you canned answers unless you call them out on it. Payment was sent via FedEx and arrived and was signed for at 9:41am the next morning (Tuesday). All that needed to happen was for them to apply the CASHIERS CHECK to the payoff and release the lien. Sounds easy enough, right? WRONG!! The seller called Ally daily for updates and responded that they normally deal only with electronic transactions and since we'd sent a physical check they would have to walk it through physically. After 4 days of this same story, my bank called (Friday) and spoke with Ally customer service and they acknowledged the receipt of the check, but said that it normally takes 1-2 business days to process the release...are you seeing the problem with that answer? It was now my turn to make a call (Monday). I spoke with ELLA and she kept giving me wrong answers regarding the arrival of the check and that it takes 10 business days and other BS. I flat told her that what she was telling me was not true and provided the facts including who had signed for the FedEx package. She placed me on hold for a few minutes and came back on the line with the TOTALLY MIRACULOUS news that the lien had been released! OMG!! REALLY?? This is SERVICE???? So lien released, vehicle in my possession, but of course the title has yet to appear so the vehicle is useless without registration/tags! The time for patience has long since expired, let me assure you. I will be on their case to push this through!! COUNT ON IT!! Another thing you can count on is that I will NEVER be a customer of Ally Bank! NEVER NEVER NEVER!!! Bunch of lying YUCCAMUFFINS! I'll use a REAL bank, thank you very much!! A REAL BANK! CONSUMER BEWARE!!

Lucinda Collins

This "bank" is a complete scam. I was swindled into a loan. Without being told. The absolute nightmare that is Ally. Want to make a payment over the phone? Oh guess what, you can't. Want to talk to someone. Who isn't in a foreign country. Reading off a script. Too bad, because you won't. Can't make a payment with a debit. Can't do anything over the phone. Only online. As soon as I can refinance, I will. Until then, I am making it my soul purpose. To let everyone know. What a pathetic excuse this "financial institution" is. SHAME ON YOU ALLY!

Levi White

DON'T LISTEN TO THE COMPLAINERS There are plenty of happy ally customers, just the unhappy ones come here to leave their reviews (just look at any other bank's reviews, they are all full of angry customers) but it made me mad when I looked at their rating, Ally doesn't deserve such a low one. Overall Ally is fantastic. I've been using them for a couple years now. Switched to Ally because Comerica always tried to charge me fees - never looked back. I haven't payed a single fee with ally even though I've overdrafted like 6 times - every single time they promptly refunded the overdraft fee when I asked. They have high interest rates (1.2% (UPDATE: 1.45% now) on a savings account! Amazing!), good customer service (online chat service is the way to go), no fees. They even pay your ATM fees for you. If you're looking for a good bank, I would highly recommend - that being said, it's not the best for people who can't use technogy, managing an account purely by phonecalls sounds like hell.

Michele Fuscellaro

Poor customer service. I had called to extend my lease and was informed that I would be charged an extension fee. I looked through my contract and it wasn't in it. I called to speak to a supervisor who might I add was arrogant told me there wasn't anything he could do. If I didn't want to pay it I should return it. I lease 2 vehicles with this company not to mention the 10 previous leases. I'm so done with this company and their poor business conduct. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Alan H. DeBoer Sr.

ally closed my account with no notice, and gave no reason when I called. a sham operation at its best!

Hailey Hayes

Worst loan company I have ever worked with. I paid off my entire loan early, in full, then the following month they not only didn’t report that I paid off my loan in full, they put that I was actively behind on payments and still owed them MORE than what my pay-off total was, even though my account with them shows it was paid in full and I received my pink slip, this brought my credit down over 60pts, causing havoc for my credit score since I am intending on getting a new vehicle soon and moving(both requiring credit checks). I do not recommend them as an auto loan lender and I will NEVER be using their services or giving them my business again. Customer service representatives were rude and argued claiming they did not do such a thing, even though it is documented that they did and refused to submit the proper data so that my score can be corrected. I have put in disputes(which can take over a month to resolve), but I am highly upset by this absurdity and unprofessional behavior on their part.

Banks are dead - Instant crypto transfers are the Future

Painter Lady

Extremely happy with this online bank. The website (and mobile phone app) are user friendly. Customer Service Reps, when needed, speak to me like a human being, (not like a robot). Plus, they are native English speakers, and rarely is there a wait. I can use any ATM---and they reimburse ATM fees! (They now use Zelle for money transfers; they discontinued Pop Money.)

B M

Ally Bank doesn't deserve anyone business and can't properly handle calls into customer service so avoid the headache. Go with a bank you can physically walk into because their fees and bad customer service isn't worth it.

Mehmet Tarhan

This financial company is the worst one that I have experienced in my life. I have a car loan with them and they are charging “finance charges” differently every month as you see from pictures. They are not supposed to charge more than average: (month(30)*1.19$(daily interest rate)=$35.7 They don’t even deserve one star!!!

TR Reese

Was very surprised to see the overall low ranking of Ally on here. They give me the best savings rate of anybody, hands down. I use their checking and savings accounts for my emergency fund(s) that I transfer money into from my primary checking account, so I am typically not interacting with the site or customer service very much but you can't get mad at 1.45% interest these days.

Mary Getschmann

I'm really surprised by the low review ratings! I've had nothing but good experiences with Ally. They offer simple, hassle-free banking and have exceeded my expectations. I mainly use Ally's online savings account feature, which has an excellent APY that increases pretty frequently. I have set amounts transferred each week from my checking account into a few different savings accounts and although the transactions do take a day or two to be finalized, they've always come through without a hitch. I can't speak about their loans, credit cards or investment options; but I'd recommend Ally for anyone who's looking for a way to simplify their banking and meet their savings goals. Customer Service is available 24/7 over the phone, and I've always been able to reach an actual human within minutes when I call. The only reason I've ever had to call Customer Service was to open additional savings accounts, never because of a problem. But the reps have always been friendly and informed. Oh, and for mobile users or people who prefer to handle things online rather than over the phone, their app is excellent. I recommend Ally to anyone who asks!

Ron M

I've had Ally as my main bank for a while now but nothing but problems recently that have made me leave them. The app hasn't worked in over a month, prior to that the biometric login stopped working. Notices come through a day or two later after you needed them especially since I can't just easily login through the app

monica na

I have had them since 2013. But how the rates for savings continues to decline

Sonja Murphy

Would give 0 stars but that is not possible. what a horrible company... Paid a vehicle off on the 4th of the month, mailed the release to us on the 14th, said 7-10 days... its now the 24th and NOTHING! We are waiting on this to transfer the tags and renew them, and it took 3 MONTHS to get an appointment with the SOS in MI... Called and was told the canned wait 7-10 days... well guess what waiting is done and nothing! Need the release ASAP and cannot get. Only by FAX (because everyone has a fax lying around their house)... Asked to have a new one overnighted to a town about 45 Min north of Detroit (where ALLy is located) and was told no wait the 7-10 days... Asked them to email due to the time constraint and they said due to security reason they cannot, but here's is the killer, when the car was paid off they EMAILED an unofficial release! And seriously! Email is far more secure than fax... its encrypted... Ally should be renamed to ENEMY of its Customers. no wonder your waiting is 1.7 cars. If ever offered a loan from Ally, I will decline even if the better interest rate! Overall rating- they owe me stars for putting up with their pathetic attempt at doing business!

Nicholas “Nick” Burton

Unless you got 90 days to work through the probationary period of being only able to use 500 dollars a day, than you might want to consider another banking system that doesn't hold you back like that. Was about to wire in home sale funds into this account when i found that out - deal breaker, just went to another bank that doesn't do that.

Anna Bratton

We have been trying to solve an issue for weeks and still can't reach anyone to help us. Their calls keep dropping and we keep getting transferred to other departments.. Do Not Trust Her

Janely Robles

Horrible Horrible HORRIBLE customer service!!!! Stacey was extremely Rude, he should not be in the customer service field & Jetea Griffin Gave me wrong information!!! I complied with my part & they failed me with theres! Never again!!! Don't do it!!!!

Miz Parker

I see lots of negative reviews what's changed with Ally? I got a brand new car through them in 2015 and refinanced with Cap1. I never had any issues paying my note, getting in touch with them or going through the refinance process. I give them 5 stars from my experience with them.

Mustapha Hotait

This Bank operates on Scams. I delivered my car to the dealer in good condition with the clean walk thru at the dealer. I received 3.4k bill for damages. I review the pics online. The car shows damages that weren’t there when I returned the car. I call the bank, and they open an investigation but at the same time they open a new account on my credit without my knowledge with the owed money causing a full hit on my credit leasing to big drop. I call the bank over 6 times and no resolution in sight. They state that they only have two people that can handle it. TWO PEOPLE!!!!! Are you joking. Stay away.

mark szydlowski

DO NOT USE ALLY FOR ANY OF YOUR LEASING NEEDS, I was billed $454 for Hail damage to a jeep compass, daughter had it in college where was she suppose to park it. Make sure you read the fine print you get what you pay for!

Rudy Torres

This experience trying an online bank with Ally, was absolutely below my expectations. So I had the account open for less than a year. Here are my experiences than you might want to know before opening an account with this institution. I opened the account because of Covid, many branches were not open in person. I was initially impressed by the above average APY on interest for checking and savings accounts. Consequently, I opened the a checking and savings account in 11/2020. Over the time, the only issue was I could not access a branch to make cash deposits. Everything needed to be done online and only in check form. In august of this year. I get an email notice that they decided to close my accounts and provided a clause in their agreement that state they can close an account at any time for any reason. The only reason I could surmise is because I disputed a debit transaction, which was declined. I inquired with the customer service team on why, and spoke with a supervisor who explained they don't provide the way. So basically the bank can ghost you and not provide a reason why. I told the supervisor that it was very sad that I have deposited many thousands (50k+) in the time of the account and they could at least provide a reason. Even she admitted that it was sad they don't provide a reason for an account closing. So the take away is a relationship is only good for ALLY as long as they can make money of you. If they want to part ways, you are trash to them and they wont tell you why they don't want your business. STAY AWAY from ALLY, and just open a account with a local bank.

***BEWARE****HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! I would not even give this place 1 star!! I financed an auto loan through them and they jerk you around every chance they get. You overpay, they send you a refund then cancel the checks so your bank charges you for their stupidity. You try and pay the loan off in full and 4 days later they tell you that they "returned' your money to your bank. I requested another pay off, which by the way the price increases every single time, double checked my bank information and SURPRISE it went through with no problem. What a joke!!!!

Drew Rose

Calling in is a joke! Every body is foreign and it's impossible to get someone on the phone you can understand. Try calling into a number they give you in case you get disconnected, wait, you just got disconnected. Call the number they gave you and listen to 5 different sales pitches about healthcare, medicare, roadside assistance, and then get hung up on before even speaking with anyone. Insane

Wendy Wagner

I financed a buick enclave in 2012 with Ally. I had a $1004 balance which I paid with an ARCH withdrawal from my checking account. Now I'm told that it'll take 15 days before they'll release the lien on the title.....SERIOUSLY!!! They have their money but I'm going to lose my buyer because of the waiting period. If I would have dealt with a local bank or credit union this wouldn't be happening. NEVER AGAIN WILL I DEAL WITH ALLY.

Mihail Faina

Horrible!!! Bought a car in 2003 via GMAC that doesn't exist anymore, paid it off in 2008, didn't get a lien release note from them ever, nor they sent one to DMV, now in 2016 when I am trying to sell my car, I am BEGGING them for 5 hours to fax a release note for something I paid 8 years ago and can't get it!!! All you get is a call center somewhere in this world, promises, waiting and frustration!! Nobody is able to give you a manager contact info here in US!!!! And I cannot rate it - NO STARS EITHER!!!

Don Keller

Ally bank uses third party employees in the Philippines to handle banking matters so I wouldn't suggest doing any business with them if you value the security of your financial information. I find it outrageous that American Banks provide personal identities, social security numbers, credit card numbers, and financial records of Americans to third world countries — and then complain about identity theft and fraud!

***

Worst bank ever. They take your money, hold it, and argue with you to get it back. NEVER USE ZELLE with Ally Bank. Worst customer service. 30 to 45 min wait times. This bank is a joke !!!!!!

Paul Bailey

Ally online savings rate WAS one of the highest. It's been dropping and it's competitors have now passed them by.

joshua gilman

Ally Auto employs outsourced customer service to non-US companies...meaning the service is horrible, they are robots sticking to a script so when you need actual, empowered help, you get NOTHING. I would recommend not using Ally financial unless you like being on your own especially if a billing error occurs.

Colin Farrell (Biohazard40)

Once you have a late fee on your auto loan, it is impossible to pay it or any subsequent late fees off. The bank will continue to take the money you sent for late fee(s) and apply that to your principal/interest payment like a floating balance. So, if your car payment is normally 300 dollars and you have outstanding late fees in the amount of 150 dollars your current past due amount will show as 150 dollars in late fees AND 150 dollars in regular car payment. So, (this is the kicker) all the money you paid to cover said late charges, HAS NEVER BEEN USED TO COVER THEM!!! They applied all of the extra funds toward the next payment (ad infinitum). Such that now I owe $150.00 in late fees from 10 months of being late. But my perpetual next payment gets less and less by $15.00 every month. I've tried everything to get rid of this cumulative late fee fiasco. Including mailing in the total amount due on a mailed late notice with balance fees and charges completely itemized with a total amount due in a box next to a box with the words payment to be made: where you transcribe the amount being paid off of the check or money order. Then you tear the payment slip off and send it back in the mail... The bill... with the check... that covers ... everything on the bill, that was itemized....in a single envelope. Payment clears... ALL THE LATE FEES STILL EXIST SOMEHOW...STILL... BUT YOU JUST PAID THEM... BUT THEY JUST WON'T DIE... SO, you phone the helpful bank people and scream your situation at them for 45 minutes, they suggest to you that you just have to get "current" and make a phone payment and all this misunderstanding will evaporate. You get the $, you call the helpful phone bankers back, you make a phone payment in the total amount currently due. Plus a fee to western union (for processing said payment) You ask them to confirm that ALL OUTSTANDING LATE CHARGES HAVE BEEN PAID??? They verbally confirm this payment and the fact that the current amount owed in your car note is $0.00 The next month....? ALL OF THE LATE CHARGES ARE BACK... along with the weird incomplete actual car payment (that IS JUST THE ACTUAL CAR PAYMENT LESS ALL THE MONEY IVE PAID IN LATE FEES OVER THE COURSE OF THE YEAR) CONCLUSION: ALLY LATE FEES NEVER EVER GO AWAY BECAUSE THE BANK WILL NEVER APPLY YOUR PAYMENT FOR THE LATE FEES TO THE LATE FEES. *Noise of me ripping my remaining hair out*

I can only speak from the perspective of a bank account holder. I have yet to finance anything through Ally. I've been with Ally coming up on 5 years now and I've had exactly three issues while with them that they quickly and efficiently resolved: Fraudulent activity that was caught before it affected my accounts, a check clearing at an odd time (didn't have overdraft protection activated) and exceeding my monthly transfer limit. The issue with the card did suck because I was stuck writing checks anywhere that'd accept them. However, that was only for a few days and because I didn't pay extra to overnight/expedite the new card delivery. They saved me a couple thousand dollars, so not complaining about a couple of days of writing checks. The check was my oversight, but I called and found out they don't immediately charge the overdraft fee like other banks. Moved some money into the account and that was that. Last one was again my fault. They have a 6 transfer limit per month. I didn't realize that counted for intra-account transfers, too (savings to checking). I saw a fee being charged and immediately called. I explained and the rep was absolutely understanding of my error. The fee was waived as a one time exception. Ally's banking side has only ever left me with good experiences. Loyal customer and I'd vouch for this any day.

Rachel Fondriest

Most awful bank ever. They pulled money from my account and I had to wait 10-15 business days to get a refund

Daniel Kromke

I mistakenly sent a large payment to to a closed Ally account in January and so far they refuse to return my money. I've contacted them 4 times since January and no response or return of those funds.

Karthik Chaparala

Ally you have given me options to get rid of the vehicle for which i did i sold it to a dealer with dealer buy off option and yet you re showing me due how is that possible!! I mean are n’t we allowed to choose our own vehicle and you charge your customer’s disposition fee i mean what is that!!! I tried to buyout the vehicle i which you wanted me to pay 12000$ just to come out of the lease that too in the time where the whole is world is experiencing crisis ohh my god stay minimum 60 meters away from this company this is a joke!!!

shawn zavicar

Was sent a letter stating that we would be allowed a late lease turn in due to COVID. As soon as the dealerships opened back up we turned in our vehicle. The letter stated that there would be no extra charge due to dealers being closed. 2 months later we get a bill for almost $800 for extending our lease. We have been fighting with them and no they told us if we don't settle for $386 they will report it on my credit. I will never lease with Ally again. What a rip off.

Miguel Santoyo

Worst customer service ever!! Having customer service representatives from off shore trying to explain to you your auto financing is confusing they do not speak clear English and they have heavy accents why are they giving away American jobs off shore when I call I expect to speak to someone who can explain clearly and are just there to push buttons on the computer and make a check do not go through this bank you will regret it

Matthew Chapman

This place is a joke. The worst customer service i have ever experienced. Almost six weeks of contacting them to get the lean release for my truck and still i have no release. Nobody there must communicate with each other. They surely did not have any trouble taking my money every month but for some reason they have the hardest time giving me my paperwork. I would strongly recommend NOT financing with this company.

Ian & Sara Skuta

Absolutely the worst banking establishment!!! Do not recommend. Trying to get through to a person that can help you is impossible, let alone you are on hold for over 20 minutes every time you call. Then the team is extremely rude. Worst customer service I have ever seen. DO NOT USE THEM!!!

Walter Spacher

@Ally is the worst bank ever. I've used them multiple times but will never use them again. NOT a #Veteran friendly business. #USMilitary STAY AWAY. Won't send me the form I need to be able to sell my vehicle to a dealership

Abcdefgh Ijklmnopq

BEWARE- DO NOT TRUST. Horrible company. Sells your information to even unaffiliated companies. Check your accounts they sell you out. Horrible customer service.

Michael Kaufman

ZERO STARS IF I COULD, worst company to deal with... you can spend 2 hours calling, and get NO WHERE!!!!! DONT GO TO ALLY!!!! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!!!!!!

Natalie Chisholm

This is the worst company I've ever dealt with in my life. I have my auto loan through them and I am in the process of refinancing it because I don't want to deal with them anymore! Whenever you call you are routed to a company overseas and those people have no power to do anything to help you. This is the most frustrated I have ever been with a company in my life! If you can get financing through any other bank for auto/home loans DO IT!!! STAY AWAY THEY ARE THE WORST COMPANY ON THE PLANET!!!!

Steven Teet

This company is a joke, ran but a bunch of incompetent people that barely speak English (when calling customer service). Save yourself a hassle and go banking some where else.

Sarah Kulczak

Worst experience I've ever had with any buisness/bank ! They stole from me , they've lied and do nothing to appreciate their loyal customers or any kind of "im sorry this was our error let us fix it" when they screw up! They can faithfully take money from you on time every month for over 3 years electronically but when they over charge you or double charge I must say because that's what they did to me even after I asked and was reassured my lease was over no more automatic payments would be taken out they stated "it will take 10 business days and you will receive a paper check in the mail" are kidding me?? With today's technology you guys can automatically take it out but can't automatically put it back? Also I don't make ally financial wait "10 buisness days" to recieve their money so why am I being treated so poorly for being a loyal customer? I just can't wrap my head around the fact that so many buisness' these days lack such basic customer service especially this one! Oh and also does not help the fact that the mass majority of your customer service representatives barely speak English and do nothing but pass you on from co worker to co worker instead of a manager or supervisor like you asked, so nothing gets resolved you basically get talked to like your listening to a automated service like they are just reading from a computer screen! I'm completely disgusted, definitely stay away from ally if you can you will be nothing but disappointed and screwed over with the outcome sadly.

Mike Meline

If I could give negative stars I would. Held my WIRE TRANSFER for an extra day for absolutely no reason. I wire transfer because the money needs delivered ASAP. I transferred well before the federal reserve cutoff and ally played with my money for a day AFTER I submitted. This resulted in a breached real estate transaction that cost me $3000. If you like your money, like knowing where it is, and like things done correctly, DO NOT BANK HERE!

Kelzey Kuch

I recently financed my car through Ally Bank and it has been the worse experience yet.... They may be a good bank so I am not going to bash them. But with the experience I have had make me not want to ever use them again. I have had my account over drawn twice because they would take out 2 car payments in a month instead of 1. Also, I called to see what I could do. Because I am a college student so there for my money is very limited, they told me that I am the one that presses the pay button not them. But I don't remember pressing it twice. So moral of my nightmare story, please do not finance with Ally Bank when needing a car loan or any loan... You may get into some serious trouble.

Dutch Fork Custom Lures eshbaugh

ALLY absolutely is the worst I have ever dealt with. yeah good rate, but try to get some help on the phone and you get habib from sandstorm who knows where? Had a job change and pay reduction called 2 times for a refinance. transferred 2 …

Tony Lafata

Just a FYI for all of you people in Google land. Do not use Ally auto for your car loans. They are quick to get your deal done. But when it comes to payoff. They are horrible. Three weeks after and still waiting for my payoff letter and lien release. Their answer is a few more days and check again. No time table no remorse no sense of urgency. Avoid them at all costs.

Branden Rauch

Don't do it. Their customer service is comically bad and you will eventually have to deal with them

Steven

**DO NOT USE ALLY IF YOU VALUE YOUR SECURITY** Just confirmed this on the phone today-- they are blocking those that use VPN services from accessing their website or app! As you hear all the time, to improve your security online (especially using free WiFi in coffee shops), they say to USE A VPN! And yet Ally is now blocking us! After being a 10+ year customer, I'll be moving my money elsewhere. Horribly poor business decision they've made. The security equivalent of a sledgehammer!

Heather H

High interest rates, terrible to try to get anything accomplished with them. All customer service outsourced, you can't ever understand them and they can't understand you half of the time. Hold time is up to 30 minutes then after another question is asked, they put you on hold for another 30 minutes. I do not recommend, don't let your auto dealer recommend. This bank is the worst.

cea auto

This is how you treat your customers, you are nothing but scammers. I provide clear evidence and you still chose to lie. Is that what an experienced agent does, measures tires with that much mud on it. It is disgusting how unethical and fraudulent Ally has become. Scamming people is your only way of staying in business.

Ky le

Bad rates even with good credit.

Kush Shah

WORST BANK EXPERIENCE IN LAST 30 YEARS and WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE - I opened a CD with Ally Bank and verified electronic transfer from a brokerage account to Ally account. As with any other such transfer, Ally deposited two small amounts which I verified on Ally website. I thought I was all set with my account and transfer would happen in couple of days. After 3 days, I received e-mail that my account was suspended. I called Customer Service and got a run around and after 3 calls and 3 days of waiting for their response, I just asked them to close my account. I will never do business with them again.

STELLA CAPALDI

I've never seen a Bank that just Doesn't Care about helping their customers like Ally!

bob c

Terrible service I cannot wait till I’m not poor anymore and don’t have to borrow money from slimy company’s such as this one To the high reviews just cause they answered your call and do something any other bank would do for you doesn’t mean they deserve better then a 3/5 it’s when they go above and beyond for you that they get a B or A grade

Eric Carlson

Ally Bank's auto financing website is horrible. For nearly three years, they have not fixed their website program to be able to tell the difference between a checking account number and a credit card number. Therefore, you can't make payments on their site. Totally inconvenient.

DD Major

Was working on a refinance when they dropped the ball on some paperwork. We decided to walk away after they came back with closing costs that were over double the original estimate. Plus the mortgage specialist we were working with left halfway through the process, twice.

Tim Crawford

Inept and getting worse by the minute. Wired money because it's usually immediate. Almost 24 hours later and still "reviewing due to EXTREME wire volume." Horrible service.

Average Critic

Open a savings and checking account around 2011. And some CDs since then. I had no problems moving money around online. I have setup automatic monthly transfer between my local bank and Ally and no problem there. Great rates with no fees. I check my accounts almost daily using the Ally App. If you have checks to deposit, you can scan it using the app. I never requested a loan or open an investment account, so I can't really review their other products. I never needed to call customer service, so I don't know if that dept is bad or good.

Kayla Cereghin

WORST BANK EVER!!! They say that they're more than willing to work with you & don't! They lie so bad! I would NEVER EVER recommend this bank to anyone! They will screw you over so bad & by then it will be way to late.

B. Gage

This is one of those places you review where you wish negative stars were an option. The operators hardly understand English and are in no way helpful. There is an overage of about $1,700 from my auto loan I had with them that is due back to me. They told me to wait 60 days after the loan was paid off, so I did. Then they told me it would be another 120 days from today (the day I called). So 6 months for a refund of my own money; absolutely ridiculous. I will NEVER consider business with them again. Do yourself a favor and steer clear.

Nathan Smith

Absolutely terrible company and customer service. Do not finance a car, house, or anything through them. Cannot count the hours wasted trying to talk to someone here only to be hung up on. Not exaggerating, I have never dealt with a company this bad. 0 stars

Sherry Hudson

BEWARE: After years of banking with the same bank, we had to change due to our bank closing. We decided to diversify our money between Ally and Huntington. Fast forward to 6/20/19 when we had our daughters annual tuition drafted from our Ally Bank acct., on 7/15 we were notified that they school was closing. We have not received our money back. ($16,500). We filed a dispute immediately through our bank but it was denied. (Reg E was cited). At first I understood and continued to pursue with the school without resolution. Then I started to hear from other families that their bank filed a dispute and had refunded their tuition and was acting on behalf of their customer. I don’t know why Ally does things differently but I just know I’m out $16,500 and this wouldn’t have happened if I banked with someone else. I seriously feel like I’m in a scene from Rainmaker. And their dispute department is completely untouchable. They mail you letters when they deny a claim and they only sign it with a first name. They don’t provide phone numbers and if you try to reach this department you’re told they can only email the department. I was even told at one point by the customer service team that they understood and not to worry because we should get our money to be denied via an anonymous letter 4 days letter. Don’t be fooled by Ally, they are not the same as your local bank....know that when it matters most, they are not your advocate.

Jordan Reich

I am also not sure where the negative reviews are coming from they have been fantastic since the day I have had them. Which started almost a decade ago as of now. Would highly recommend them to anyone!

Mr. Honest

Just switched from chrysler capital and had no issues whatsoever paying my note through them. this is my 3rd payment through ally. Every payment i initiated through my routing number through my bank has been returned atleast thats what ally shows on the app. My bank says they never even attempted to take the funds out and its definitely something wrong on there end. They claim my account was closed but i use it on a daily basis so I knew that was a lie. If this issues happens one more time i will demand to either switch to another financial institution or return my car. I feel as though there trying to catch me slipping so i will have all these late fees ect. Funny fact is when i pay using my debit card it goes through but i do also pay a extra fee on top of my note thats why i gave them my account info because every dollar adds up. Next step will be to sue. I have all my documentation. Another fun fact is they know all your info. It was crazy because they ask you to give them all your info. Full social security number and all. They shouldnt know all that info. I dont know if thatvperson has any criminal intent. Everyone should sue just for that

A B

I have had 1 positive, 1 okay, and 1 very bad experience with this company. That bad experience totally over-shadowed the other experience with the bank. Their customer experience left you wanting a crowded Disney park to get a piece of mind. Stay away from this company, my account will be closed by tomorrow, after withdrawing and or transferring of funds. Buyer beware.

John Palmer

Turned in leased vehicle to Extreme Dodge on January 28 2019 , as of today February 29 2019 the vehicle is still sitting in the lot at Extreme Dodge , no inspection done , can't get any straight answers from ALLY as to why , called ALLY and got put through to a service in the Philippines , REALLY !!! That's customer service .... leeser beware !!!

Monique Printz

Literally one of the worse financial institutions. Family is extremely unhappy with the mess this place always seems to cause.

eric

Their servicing over the phone is horrendous. Do these people try everything possible to make it difficult for me to pay my bill? Zero stars.

Gregory Greenwood

I paid my car off and requested the title nearly a month ago. I still have not received it. When talking to a representative I was informed that they sent the title with them listed as a lien holder still. Now they refuse to send another title that is clean.

Fran Edsal

Worst bank they lie about gap refunds they steal your money don’t trust this bank with auto loans

Mike Dilger

Please read this review before signing documents with Ally - Ally is an advertised "online bank" that is some reconstructed version of GMAC. All customer service is provided offshore - likely the Philippines (which is common these days). …

Chris Franks

Worst bank and company ever they don’t care about you. I was transferred 4 times it took me over a month to get a hold of the right person to hopefully get results. I will never finance with this company again. There agents are rude and cut you off and when you raise your voice they hang up on you. If i could give them 0 stars i would. I will never make this mistake again. RUN RUN RUN FAR FAR AWAY!!!!!

Yvonne Judge

Customer service isn't very service oriented. I tried opening an account, the online system failed part way through and told me that the account was not created. Today I get an email that they have taken the deposit from my bank to fund the account. Customer service tells me he put in a ticket and it will take up to 3 business days to fix. Didn't want to listen, kept cutting me off. Talked over me and raised his voice. Really, really, bad experience.

Anthony Sakhria

Don’t waste your time with this bank. Lease with a different company. We extended our vehicle and people constantly call everyday talking about a balance not related to the monthly payment we actually owe. Seems like the departments there aren’t on the same page.

Chelsea Merta

I had Ally for a gap coverage insurance policy. Not only did it take three and a half months to process, but they refused to cover nearly $1,000 of the balance and incorrectly claimed that this was offset by a tire and wheel package that I had purchased from the dealership. I asked to speak to someone in management but she was just as clueless and unhelpful as the rep. Go elsewhere and don’t waste your time. Customer service is non-existent and the whole process is a bigger headache than it’s worth.

Andy Kulaszewski

Unbelievable how long it takes this company to get you lein release paperwork. I’ve had to push back the sale of my car twice now as well as reschedule two secretary of state appointments because their “4 business to clear a cashiers check” has now turned in to a week. I’ve called everyday after on and after the 4th day and they “understand the urgency” and change absolutely nothing. Typical bank, can get you a loan in 15 minutes but once you are of no value to them, why the rush? I will never finance through them again. They pride themselves on having no physical location but trying to sell a vehicle becomes a month long ordeal BECAUSE they have no locations. It is not helpful, they are not helpful, I’d rather take the bus than finance through Ally again.

T B

During the covid shut down, I signed up for an extension on the lease. We have 3 family vehicles leased thru them, we have the paperwork showing that it’s all legit from them. But for some bizarre reason they are now harassing us, Now saying no that’s not the case and we have to return the cars early otherwise we will be charged double. Extremely rude. Full of lies whoever you talk to. Not sure who they hired to help with phone calls but it’s obviously very incompetent staff. Ally might want to check the new employees and how they are handling their job assignments.

Fadi Alsafo

The worst thing that happened to me was that I dealt with them. Im waiting for more than four months for them to send me the Title

My Shade Room

I absolutely LOVE Ally bank. Their Christmas stomer service has ALWAYS been 100% on point. No min balance, free checks, no mobthly fees, hassle free help when needed. Thank you Ally!

Jany Dakar

This companyn just scam me. I ask for prof my bill charge, they tell I'm not eligible becuse Im new customer. I have account for 4 years, they take advntage of me becuse Im foreign and have accent. These people are bad. Please stay away. I will talk to my lawyer I recorded them

Cheyenne Shalosky

The WORST bank I’ve ever done business with. Everyone is very rude, never had a representative that knew what they were talking about, and always have an issue every month, they over charged me and never tries to make things right. I WILL be refinancing somewhere else.!

Corie Fletcher

I’m glad I no longer finance through Ally Bank. They’re the worst company who doesn’t care about their customers. They closed my online account for no reason so I had to pay through a 3rd party service. They make fraudulent claims and they harass you. I wouldn’t recommend this to my worst enemy.

Dennis Whitted

This bank has great rates, but other than that BEWARE! They say they are concerned with your security and privacy, But they refuse to stop sending my social security number and other private information to a 3 year old address, that we did not provide to them for this account. Such a simple request for our security, but they will not do it. !!!

hallie brett

I made a payment before the date of my auto draft and not only did they still run the auto draft, but charged me twice. I keep getting routed to offshore call centers and they are trained to repeat themselves and not resolve issues. I will be refinancing my car with another company and have made a claim with my bank. Next will be BBB. Horrible horrible horrible business practices. They should be shut down.

Katherine Coats

I use Ally for checking, savings, & IRA accounts. No complaints!

Robert Sides

I am returning to edit my review. I leased a 3500 Chevy truck through Ally and paid the whole 3 year lease upfront at the time of purchase Then 2 months before the end of the lease I was going to be traveling and decided to just buy the truck. They wanted extra $800 to purchase the truck early, even through I already paid 100% until the end of the lease. I did get it worked out after almost a week of going back and forth. Not to mention the truck only had 35% of the paid for mileage on it. It felt like an insinuation was being made they didn't believe the miles on the truck. Even the Chevy dealer was like they have never seen anything quite like this, as they put it this should be an easy no brainier. Way more drama then an old retired guy wants to deal with in the future.

Richard Turek

6 minute wait time ? Are you kidding ? I have Ally accounts and have tried to reach Ally for MANY days at all hours and keep getting the 30 minutes or more wait message. Hire more staff or get out of the Customer Service banking business.

3qnox 7892

If you like late fees, this is the place. After missing one payment, making a double payment 3 months later and then another substantial payment to bring the loan "current". They still wanted to charge me a late fee of $106 the day before my "grace period" ended. I would give negitive stars if I could. Smh

Chris Rhino

Terrible for so many reasons. Everytime I call they're experiencing technical issues and can't answer account specific questions. Screwed up my billing and charged me a late fee for it. Absolutely terrible. Avoid this company at all costs. Would score 0 stars if I could.

M Atkins

Ally Bank used to be good with prompt service and high savings rate yield. Now, their service is taking longer to clear check deposits and their savings rate is declining. Ally seems to be regressing instead of progressing while competitors continue to take business away from Ally by offering better rates and customer service. I’ll be looking to move banking away from Ally as a result.

mark s

There is no location to do banking in detroit. The ren-cen location has been closed for 3 years.everything is online

Tania Ellis

I do not recommend that you do any business with Ally Financial. They do not care about their customers The Death Claims Department are a bunch of uncaring individuals who keep asking to speak to your dead relative. They will not comply with a court order. They will not let you speak to a supervisor or give you a corporate complaint name or phone number. Also, if you have an account with them please call and set up your pod- payable upon death beneficiary immediately so that your loved ones don't have to suffer during an awful time in their life. I am recommending that you boycott ALLY and anything to do with them. If you are banking with them, or have a car loan, or mortgage please find somewhere else. They dont deserve your business.

Chris Wingate

Hands down the worst customer service ever. After being transferred 7 times only to tell the exact same story 7 different time i got hung up on. Called back to once again start the process over with and still never reached the It department to get my auto pay fixed. The chat box on the website is unavailable at this time. Everyone I spoke to was very hard to understand. I would highly recommend banking with someone else.

Ken Berggren Jr

Their home loan division is awful. What happened from our approval to the loan falling apart was *mostly* beyond their control. What was in their control was how poorly they communicated with me. People changed a few times in a few weeks and emails took days to be answered. The final issue was the cash to close and nobody even bothered to break the news to me, I had to find it out on my own. I would never have left a review if the ball had been dropped once or twice but having to always play chase is a dealbreaker with something so important as a home loan. Maybe its best to stick with your local bank or CU

B dee

Had my lease with Ally. Turned it in perfect. Days later they found a scratch and wanted $190 for something I did not do.

Tony middleton

PAID FOR AN EARLY 5 MONTH TERMINATION OF MY CADILLAC LEASE> Paid extra for wear and tear Smart-Lease and my CTS was inspected clear at surrender. Ally turned me over to their "Collection Dept" for $500- damage claim? Showed my acceptance of …

I recently purchase a 2019 ram through a fca dealer who recommended Ally. This was a total mistake as ally has the worst customer service I've ever had with any financial institution. All support is overseas and is just HORRIBLE. Lesson learned, I will be moving this loan to my local community bank in the next two weeks. I even called the dealer and told them they should be ashamed of recommending Ally. They agreed that that they've had many issues and apologized So I'm not real happy with the dealer either.

Alabaster Fantasia

I do recommend Ally Bank for a savings or checking account. They do well in that regard (even though they are VERY slow to work with you). Their savings rates are among the best around. I give five stars in that regard. My wife and I financed our car through them and it was awful. The rates were reasonable, but getting this bank to send you the title and verification that you have paid off the loan is nearly impossible. It took two months to even get mail from them! Calling them does help, but it depends ENTIRELY on who you get on the phone. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing here. We would have one operator say one thing, then another operator say the complete opposite on the same call. So, final tally - Excellent bank for storing your money, and getting a competitive rate. But a terrible bank for doing anything else with. I wouldn't even recommend getting a CD here. The second you try something mildly complex, Ally falls apart.

Danielle Chibib

The worst customer service ever!! They lie and never return phone calls.. they give you the runaround never can get in touch with a supervisor make promises to call back and never do they say things are gonna get done and they never are. Worst company to deal with do not ever get a loan from these people..

William Wilson

Alley Invest. This is the worst trading platform I have ever seen. They take your money, and make you jump through sooo many hoops to get it back. They reject your transfer requests, for no reason , and their support can't even figure it out. Minus 10 stars for Ally Invest. Don't put your money at risk with Ally Invest!!

Jim Cords

They are the worst. 5 different calls with 5 different answers of where my pay off check is at. I think they lost it. Do not use them. Each person is useless.
