We've used a couple different dealerships over the years and only once have we received the type of customer service we have from your staff and that gentleman Winston F has since passed. Winston was all about the customer from the minute you met him, that is rare these days. Unfortunately since we've gotten used to being treated as a number...not so in this case...communication has been A1, friendly,polite but most importantly we were treated like people by Dawn and Erin. I bought an SUV a week ago. It was a painless experience .the sales staff an the service department were very easy to deal with. A lot of Habs fans there though. I took the SUV for a test drive alone . They did the financing , registration ,etc plus installed winter tires and I had the vehicle cleaned tires on and paper work completed in a responsible time . My wife bought a car there in 2011 and is still driving it . I took her car for a couple of oil changes there and the service staff were awesome . I'd highly recommend race auto if your looking to purchase a vehicle .

Worst car dealer in dartmouth! The finance mananger Cathy Jourdy was not helpful at all. She invited us to test drive the vehicles we showed interest in. Then when we got there an hour later all the way taking transit from Halifax she said we would first have to get our loan application approved test drive the vehicle and wouldn't even allow us to look at those cars. When i refused to get the credit check done for the application upfront she mentioned the cars were sold already. I work in the customer service industry and this was the worst experience ever. Better step up and do your job as promised CATHY!

With my first car my interest rate was quite high since I was establishing my credit. My credit was not the best years ago. The only way I could get a car was to take a very high intrest for one year and then they would drop it. Well that was a lie. I called a year later and they laughed and said they don't do that which than I believe he would have said anything to make a sale? I upgraded my car several years later and they dont give you the value of the car back onto the loan they just piled it on top of my new loan. Which sucks..

From my initial inquiry and purchase in December 2017 until now the staff at Race have been excellent! Worked with me to find the best vehicle for the payments I wanted. Very relaxed, stress free car buying experience. All purchase options, warranties, and pros and cons of them explained out but no pressure to add them. I am still having my routine maintenance services completed at the race service department and its a pleasure working with them as well as the sales staff. I was so impressed that I recommended my daughter to them and they fixed her up with the vehicle that worked for her as well and still happy. My next vehicle purchase I’m sure will be through Race and would highly recommend stopping in if you’re in the market for a new vehicle to see for yourself.

We bought a 2013 Ford Escape from Race Auto Group two months ago, and it was a fantastically easy purchase! They helped us with paperwork and financing, getting us a better interest rate on our previous car loan, and a great price on our trade in. It was very low pressure, and we never felt hassled. There was no salesperson dogging your every step, following you around the lot... we were able to take our time, and assess the vehicle to meet your needs (in our case, whether our greyhound would fit comfortably!) We'd absolutely do business again! :D But not for a while, 'Dory', our blue Escape will hopefully be the last vehicle for a while!

Was told no problem when said that I was going to hold off for a moment, and that they were withdrawing my application. Not a good start to any transaction.

Overall customer service was great but when I initially started my application for a trade in I notified them of what my bi weekly payments were at the time and that id like to get them lowered. I went through a week of non stop hassle trying to get all the needed paperwork while the whole time being told everything looks good so far. Come to the day of finalizing everything my bi weekly payments would have been $70 more than what I'm paying now. Needless to say I came home with the same car with very high blood pressure.

It was just one thing after another with Race Auto Group. I saw a Nissan Rogue online that I was interested in viewing and set up an appointment with them to come in and see the vehicle. I was interested in viewing other vehicles but I was specifically coming in to see this one. When I arrived I was informed that the vehicle I wanted to see wasn't actually at the dealership yet. I was annoyed but viewed some other vehicles, making it clear that I was only interested in AWD vehicles. I came back another day to view the Rogue and guess what? Not an AWD as listed on the site. The only reason I came back the second time was because the price was good. That was obviously a mistake. It was a complete waste of my time. While they did apologize for what happened there was just a disappointing level of service, no walk around of the car, no description of features. I would not reccomend buying here.

I would have given a great review having two other vicheals three race auto but recently we went for a third and it’s been an absolute nightmare from the start. We went to upgrade the family truck and we were told all we had to do was go in and sign the papers and done. Well 7 hours later sitting in the office with a 1 1/2 year old we were told we couldn’t even leave with our original truck and we had to take a rental. We said we were going to back out and they panicked and allowed us to leave with our truck. After arranging to have the new one delivered (their was no way in hell we were going back their) they said they were going to deliver that day, and didn’t until that night and had a kid do it. They forgot to give us our plate and permit. Now one month later we are still fighting with them for our plate and permit and also for them to put a stop payment on our old loan which they told us one we contacted our bank it would be done ( they lied) . Every time we call to speak to the original sales person (who didn’t know what they were doing to begin with) we’re given someone else. We have yet spoken twice to the same person. Such a very unorganized dealership, once our loans are up with them we will never deal with them again. Highly unreliable and I recommend going else were!!!

I would like to start off by saying that the last thing I thought I would ever do would be to go out of my way to rave about a used car dealership. I must say, Race Auto Group has taken that stereotype and absolutely crushed it. What an incredible experience. I know, that seems like a strong word, but it's true. I went in there with NO expectations of even being able to afford a 7 year old car and left with a near mint 2013 Chevy Orlando. I had very specific needs in a vehicle and they went above and beyond. Tried to sell me a car an expensive car that had been in an accident. Was told it hadn’t been in an accident “as far as they know” and that it is checked by a mechanic and in good condition. I took it to the brand’s mehanic and it was found that it had been in multiple accidents as it was damaged, repainted, and had replaced parts on both sides. I almost lost 30K on a faulty car. Bad experience for me and a non ethical service from them. I recommend checking their cars at other mechanics before buying.

We bought a 2nd hand Ford Focus 2013, which looks & drives like almost new. The team was very professional, friendly and helpful. They let you take your time to look at different cars and take them for an (extensive) test drive. No rush or commission focused sales person bugging you. I purchased a 2019 Nissan Rogue SV. When I purchased it it was night time and i didn't notice the chip in the windshield, however did hear the belt squeaking and wrote it on the bill of sale. They informed be since the vehicle was under warranty I could take it to my nearest Nissan dealership to have that fixed for free. when I took the vehicle to Nissan, they preformed the usual safety check and informed me the vehicle was out of alignment in the front and rear. When I informed race about this, they 1- blamed it on me and 2- fought with me for 2 weeks before they finally agreed to pay to have it fixed. don't waste your time and money going to Race, go somewhere with good customer service and good vehicles.

Changing my reading from a 5 star to a 1 star rating. I have bought 3 different cars from Race Auto. On my most recent purchase I traded in, I had brand new $700 winter tires on the car I traded in. I had made it clear that I wanted to switch my tires to all season before trading. The employee who was helping me told me that the car I was purchasing came with new all season tires on it and that I would get a $500 credit for new winter tires. The all seasons that came with my kia rio were not brand new and are only 2 points above not being able to pass an mvi. The employee that had helped me no longer works there, and my file was improperly noted. If I could give 0 stars at this point I would. Definately won't buy another car here... I feel swindled. P.S. If you haven't bought a car here and see all the 5 star reviews its because they offer you money towards the service centre for leaving a good review.

Erin was extremely helpful and very well knowledgeable about the financial process and knowing her way around the car I chose. I had lots of questions as a first time buyer and I left with a good feeling and all my questions answered with smiles and professionalism. I did need to bring my car into service with in the first week to have the transmission looked at (it was shifting hard) something I was unused to, and worried something might happen to it in the near future. Had a half decent experience with this dealership. Was much better than many of the others I visited. Walked in inquiring about a vehicle on the lot (wanderd around for a bit inside the small showroom until someone finally asked if they could help me) and was introduced to a sales guy who knew nothing about the vehicle but "could get me the keys" for a test drive. for a bit of a drive. Once I got back, sales staff put a bit of pressure on me to try and make up my mind before I left at the end of the night to buy it or not and I fell into it and signed before I left. Took them a bit of time to get the vehicle ready to go, but the after sales service was pretty good. I felt like they definitely didn't want me leaving unhappy. Not a perfect experience but pretty good either way. The sales manager was by far the most helpful there out of all the staff. The sales guy I dealt with didn't know a thing about the vehicle I was looking at so I felt like I sold it to myself, and the sales manager seemed like he had no time for me.. there was several times he told me who I needed to talk to and where I should be able to find them but didn't bring me to them. The experience hasn't pushed me away from buying from them again, and I definitely recommend anyone who's looking at getting a used vehicle to check these guys out.

Last week I bought a car from here, I had questions for them and asked to speak to the manager and they never returned my calls. I've left messages and still no call returned. I get the run around from them. They gave me new license plate that I didn't ask for, I was charged money for them, returned them to access ns and they said rest of money was dealers responsibly and they refuse to reimburse me for the costs. Nobody returned any of my calls. They also said I would get car mats and I did not recieve any. Terrible customer service!!! Do not recommend.

They sold me a car with 130k km. Sometimes the car doesn't start. Few rust on windshield wiper. Tires is almost done, even though there's a little bit of life into it. I wont survive the winter. Wheels have few scratches. Body paint have lots of scratches. Paying too much every month for finance. The representative was new, so info about the payment wasn't explained well. Overall, poor service. Very disappointed, however it taught me a good lesson. So far, this is one of the worst dealership in Nova Scotia..

They knew exactly how to get us a car. Just like they said they could. Although after looking through our papper work we discovered that the infomation we gave them was altered and not completely truthfull. The woman who sold us the car was overly pushy and out right lied about somethings. Lile the fact that our extended warrenty was not "included" as she said it was. We later found out that it was an extra 1,600 dollars that we were paying for this warenty, even though we asked about it being included and were told it was. When I asked them about this after I realized how much it cost us they reaponded with "well it's a good thing to have." I asked if it was optional and asked why it was presented to us in this manner and again the response was the same "well it's good to have" this is very very dishonest as far as I am concerned. On top of all of this I just had an oil change on this car to come and find out that the oil plug was hanging on by a thread. So beware of what you buy. It seems that there service department is as comcerned about properly maintaining the cars they sell as much as the sales people are about telling the truth. Knowing what I know now about this place I can't say that I'll ever go back. I have a $25 dollar gift card from them which I will probably kever use now out of fear of what they will or will not do to my car this time.

Customer service is good and not so good depending on what is going on. Purchased a car in december had it for an hour and it broke down... They suggested I get it towed to have it fixed and that they would not take the vehicle back. They also charged me $500 for winter tires not on rim and told me over the phone they paid $80. Make sure you look your vehicle over before accepting it and check out all the hidden costs.

Classic bait and switch used car dealer - nice people but careful folks... I had been speaking with a wonderful and nice woman who seemed to be really great. I was pre approved and she followed up several times to ask me if I needed anything. I had agreed to a price with her via email and she told me to come in and we could get all the paperwork done. Once I arrive, it had seemed like no one knew I was coming which is very different than the tone of the email. Anyways, the first person I dealt with was very kind, and personable. I’ll give the dealership that - they have VERY friendly staff that appear to be on your side. It starts to go south when the young lady says she sees the email but she knows they want be able to do the price I discussed. She then leaves for around 30min to discuss. During this time, I hear another sales person telling someone they have amazing credit and have been approved for a great interest rate of 11.9% - if I remember correctly, the person said, “you could even buy 5 cars with your great credit”. Folks...11.9% is a terrible deal - you can get credit cards at lower rates. A typical line of credit from a bank is around 7 - 9%. Dealerships can be great for financing but not all of them tel you the whole picture. After waiting, she comes back and says yea we can’t do the price you spoke with other person but we can do X. This to me, is a bait and switch. The only reason I was there is because I had thought I agreed to a price with a sales person over email. I asked to speak to owner who got very angry and started saying he didn’t approve anything, she didn’t explicitly say anything and that he is not doing that deal. This is a long story but honestly folks be very careful. There seemed to be some real nice people working there so maybe this was just a bad day and miscommunication. Regardless, the owner seemed quite rude. I had thought I had a deal in writing but I guess not. Number 1 rule - have your guard up with this dealership you could easily get baited and switched.

The end of March we were facing the end of warranty on our car, had some household damage that put us in credit troubles and needed a new car. So we went into Race after hearing the commercial on the radio. We said we were there to challenge the commercial that it was too good to be true and with the credit mess there was no way we would get a car. They took our information and said they would see what they could do. We left knowing full well we were NOT getting a new car but it was fun to humor ourselves. The next day we had a phone call from Lori, YOU'RE APPROVED! I don't know what she did or how she did BUT, she did it! We are now proud owners of a 2012 Nissan Maxima and loving every minute of it. I took so long to write my review because sometimes people write them about the service they receive when buying the car but then after you don't matter. Not the case here! We have been in for oil changes and are treated as well as we were when we went in to buy the car. We used the referral program where we sent someone to Race to buy a new vehicle and right away our reward was added to our gift card. They are really amazing at Race Auto, love the service, and most of all....loving the stress free of our new car. Thank you to everyone at Race Auto. You proved me wrong...lol.

The truck i bought wasnt cleaned inside or out, opened the hood and somebody had beat the truck off road before i bought it, the motor and inside of the hood complete mud covered, found 2 chips in the windshield i seen the next morning, i picked the truck up at night, i had speedy repair both chips, every thing else was good.

This is my third vehicle purchase from Race auto my first two experiences were wonderful this third time not so much I had some issues with some insurance which took a little bit of extra time (very pushy) calling almost hourly even though I told him my daily work schedule everything finally went through and I went to pick up my truck thay detailed the truck and made me sign the detail slip before I even looked at it came out to the truck had to wash all the windows on the inside myself and stop at Canadian tire and buy winter wiper blades because the blades are on it were destroyed I don’t know how it passed MVI there was only 1/4 of a tank of gas which is an even enough to make it home for me So I have recommended people in the past will not be recommending any more........ Update After being contact by Joey regarding my issues that I have had he had called me and personally apologized for any inconvenience and rectified the issues I have experienced And I will be recommending race auto group in the coming future as I always have in the past thank you race group And all your staff I will remain a future customer Thanks Sean

We were very happy with the service we received at Race Auto Group. We werent subjected to pressure tactics and we felt free to roam the car lot at our own pace with no pressure from anyone hovering over us looking for a quick sale. We took 2 weeks to search for the vehicle we wanted and we dealt with 3 different staff members during that process. It was very good knowing that we received the same high level of service from each of the people we dealt with. One thing that jumped out at us was the patience that was demonstrated from everyone at Race while we considered our options for a new vehicle. If the vehicle we wanted to test drive wasnt on site, they made every effort to get it to Dartmouth from the Truro site - even if it was just for a 5 minute test drive. I would highly recommend this location for anyone considering getting a new vehicle.
