Disgusting business practices. I am a facebook friend of someone using their services and they message your friends list demanding that you contact the person and relay their messages. I asked them several times not to contact me regarding personal matters of Facebook acquaintances and they are persistent. I called the company to discuss with a manager and was brushed off. I wouldnt even give them a 1 star if it wasn't mandatory.

Received an email saying my loan application was approved but they just needed 30 day bank statement and info I had already sent them the day before funsing my loan. I sent all required documents then they asked for 90 day statement. I work full time. Have been paying all my bills on time then I get an emailing saying you don't meet our criteria. With no reply as to why I don't meet their criteria. Terrible company.

No problem with loan or service but don't be talked into insurance, got a $3000 loan and in 12 months I have paid $2550 to loanaway and only have paid $500 off of the principal and $1250 to insurance and the rest has been interest which I understand, but that insurance is crazy. It was not a problem to cancel the insurance with a quick call, they just make you think its not an option when you get the loan.

Filled up an application online and shortly got a call from their support. Mark was a very polite and knowledgeable agent, who helped me to proceed and I was approved.

Prompt service. I like that you can take out a loan for 36 month. Much better option than payday agencies. My only one problem with them is that it takes a lot of time to get another reloan. You have to make payment on time to qualify for more money.

Asked for 2000 CAD to do some small house renovations projects and was approved for 3000 CAD. Decided to take out the whole amount so I have more flexibility and I can boost my credit score. So far, everything looks good. Biweekly payments are relatively small. Customer service is responsive but you should call in the morning to get your questions answered fast. I will write another update here shortly. By the way, thanks to Madeline for helping me out with the application. I am not super friendly with all these websites and forms but Madeline helped me a lot. Thanks Loanaway team and Madeline.

I paid into a secured loan to help build my credit after a bad break up. Firstly I was tricked into this loan as I didn’t understand it. And was told within minutes of signing and realizing what it was that it couldn’t be reversed. After paying into it for years, I finally paid it off. I waited 2 months for my funds to arrive in the mail. Then I see it is half of what I paid for. They did a deduction for a “service revenue”. I’ve tried calling and emailing to not get any replies ever from Mimi. Nice way to F over a single mom or anyone for that matter. Your company and customer service are terrible. PS I want the rest of my money you owe me!!

I'm an American I would not get a loan from a Canadian company there is no reason for them to be contacting me. I am trying look up the laws in Canada but I don't believe this is legal in any way. Extremely inappropriate company who blasts your private information on social media. I have received Facebook messages from “Preet Sidhu” asking me to have someone on my Facebook friends list contact Loan Away regarding her “urgent legal matter”. I barely even know the person she is referring to and can’t imagine the damage this might cause if certain people are contacted on her behalf like this. This could highly effect friendships, work, family relationships etc. Extremely inappropriate is an understatement.

Noticed they took my loan out of my account twice, I called it to tell them and get it resolved and the woman told me I was wrong, even if I sent her a screen shot of the proof from my account I was wrong and it was my issue to call my bank. They need to get better customer service reps that don’t raise their voice at you when you’re calling in to see what’s going on. I did end up being a glitch in the app, but she went about it the absolute wrong way! Other than that, I’ve has no issues with them at all.

My first interaction with loanaway in 2018 was OK. Just ok, nothing much. Rates were good but everything was slow. Now is 2020. Very hard year. I applied for a new loan 1 week ago. And you know what? I am surprised. May be their management has changed or something, but now they approved me within a day. Plus, the lady who i spoke to on the phone was soooo polite. And! I have a secured loan and unsecured loan with them , I had 2 payments on each return , arrangement was made of extra payments and I assume those payments covered Both return payments, I called few times before and after 30 days to ask about my secured account balance , and any of those calls they told me I had a past due payments , now I have one 30 day and one 60 day payment late on my credit report, I ask them why I wasn't contacted or mention about the past due in the beginning, I can't get a proper answer , they claim they open 7 days a week and they hardly answer , I won't recommend this company, they don't care about getting paid it assume and they report bad payments , and i am going to report them.

Their website states they will approve you within 15 minutes and you get your money deposited in 24 hours! And I don’t if it’s just me but it took me 3 days to finally get the money. The agent on the phone apologized for the delay stating that because of COVID they have less employees and bla bla bla. I received my 3000 but I believe they should let you know in advance that it may take more time. Other than that everything looks ok

Terrible company. My payments were to come out on the 1st and they took it out on the 26th and refusing to pay for NSF charges. Thiefs, customer service rep mark is very rude. I called back spoke to Mary in collections and she hung up on me. What a rude company. The owner really needs to look into how terrible their customer service is else they will lose all their clients to other companies. Very terrible!!

Never again. Blame the customer for their mistake. I was with them for 2 loans and won't be back. It takes over a week to get your loan, don't purchase the extra insurance you're not approved, interest rates are very high. Customer service very kind over the phone just to find out the dishonesty. My review story starts in 2017 when I applied for my first loan with them. 2 years ago I couldn't cancel my insurance and I had to pay extra. Yes, it's a good idea to have it but when u know that you can pay on time u don't really need. Anyway, I paid off my first loan in 2018 and took another one in January 2019. Since 2017, I was very surprised how many changes they've made. Their website now has a lot of useful articles and they have also improved their online portal. Finally, I was able to loan without any insurance!! That's a big "yes" for me. If u need a small loan - pick Loan Away. For bigger amounts (more than 5000) choose someone else.

Still not the best place to get fast loan in Canada. Rates are very high and they ruin your credit even more by making regular inquiries on your equifax file. But that is not the worst thing that will happen to you with Loan away, even when you eventually pay off your loan, the will not report it to the credit bureau . They intentional do this to keep your credit score low and you will never be able to get credit from anywhere apart from them. Still a viscous cycle to keep the average people down and prevent us from ever owning a house. Loan Away (Mary ) , i have recently paid off my loan in full, pls kindly report it to equifax asap. Last report you did was in July, and its so unfair that you have to leave 6k owing on my file after i have paid you in full. But it takes you only few hours to update new loans on Equifax but takes you forever to update payment... Cut it out pls and update every month like all other loan shack companies like u .

DO NOT LOAN FROM LOAN AWAY. I got a loan from them in 2017 and subsequently had to file for a consumer proposal. Although they have been receiving money every month through the proposal they are fraudulently reporting on my credit that I have misses 58 payments. I have finished the proposal and sent a copy of the certificate of full performance. I have repeatedly tried to request they update their acct on my credit and they have blatantly ignored my requests. They have not even acknowledged my repeated requests. If you need a short term loan, use iCash. Much more affordable and they don't gouge you and rip you off like LoanAway

I borrowed 4000$ from them 4 months ago. Love their customer service. Any question or issue I have - they can solve it. Sometimes it takes a bit of time for them to answer the call but when you are connected to the agent, your question can be answered quickly. They helped me select a good payment schedule. And I also got the insurance plan that helped me pay back when I lost my job. Overall, everything is good. Please improve the speed of your website. Got approved fast and was able to reloan after 6 months. For me, I consider these guys as a good friend who can lend me money when I need it. Suits me best for small purchases, car repairs, or bills that I need to pay off fast. Customers service was always friendly and responsive. It was easy to communicate with them via phone and email.

Another former employee here. Make no mistake about it - the owner of the company is indeed a criminal and barely dodged 142 criminal charges laid against him through his other company, Ontario Energy Group. What this means is that the owner of Loan Away is incapable of making money by honest means. The company will try what it did with Ontario Energy Group and place a lien on your home, which is one of the best ways they make money. If you should happen to encounter any money issues, they WILL call you at work endlessly, thereby embarrassing you in front of your employer and they'll even contact your friends and family on Facebook and tell them to tell you to pay up. Yep, it's pretty bad. As a customer, here is what you should know about the people behind the company: most are young and completely unfamiliar with the financial services industry. Imagine having a McDonald's worker dealing with your money and you're pretty much there. The manager of the collections department is the ultimate brown-noser and instructs his agents to recoup money by ANY means necessary. Anything for a buck. As another previous employee stated here, the owner has a fetish for sports cars and yet, he never pays his staff on time. Funny how he insists that his collection agents put intense pressure on borrowers to repay on time, but we never know when our cheques will be issued. And when you do get the cheque, it's usually at 6pm or so, meaning you have to wait for the bank to open the next days or have a partial freeze. Look, I know that if you're looking at this company, it's because you're likely in a crunch. LoanAway will only make it worse. Read the fine print in the footer - they say they charge between 19.99% to 45.99% interest, but it's ALWAYS 45.99% interest. Think about it - how does borrowing money and having to repay it PLUS an additional half of what you borrowed actually help your situation? One last thing: it's speculated around the office that the owner might be planning to funnel his money back to Russia and leave the country to save big on paying taxes. Terminal scam all the way.

I worked here for almost a year, the owner is super rude and has no remorse for anyone but himself. While you guys get loans from him, he banks big bucks off it. He pulls up to work in a new car everyday Lamborghini, Bentley, Ferrari.. and doesn't always pay the employees on time. Please save your time and credit, the collectors are even worst, they do not following the collection guidelines what so ever. I can hear them yelling at people of the phone from the OTHER side of the office. stay far away from this place unless you are super desperate.

UPDATE: since I provided the negative reviews all over the internet the rude lady Sumati just phoned me from Loan Away and has given me till the end of the today to pay $800 or they are upping it to $1200. I have contacted the Better Busiiness Bureau and seeking legal advice. I recommend anyone going through something similar to do the same. They need to be made accountable. They are crooks. I took out a $1000 loan for 1 year from them back in May 2016. In September I was laid off work (7 payments in) and informed them of my situation. Each payment I made paid into their insurance for situations like this. The first person I spoke with refused to assist me in obtaining the insurance claim information. I was finally able to obtain it through another woman working there and made my claim. The insurance company made 12 payment on my behalf. Throughout this time they still harassed me for payments regularly. After the insurance confirmed the final payment on the account they went quiet. I tried reaching out to them to find out what was remaining to settle the account and they never got back to me so i figured everything was settled. In March 2018 i pulled my credit report to see that they were reporting that i owed them $1700. So again i emailed them with all the details including the final letter from the insurance confirming they had paid $716. Again no response. I finally decided to call and was informed by a very rude lady that now I owe them $1900. She refused to put me through to a manager as well as providing me with her name. I hung up the phone and received a call back from an apparent supervisor who sounded exactly like the original lady I spoke with. Again no manager is available. I offered them $400 to settle this account. She said she would talk to her manager. But I thought her manager wasnt available. She called me back with $800 to settle which is ludicrous. I pleaded with them to even except $600, but she kept saying not possible. If I dont pay them $800 by October they are upping it to $1200. Stay away from this unethical company full of liars and crooks.

I really like the convenience of doing everything online. I didn’t even have to go to the bank to receive the money. They were deposited automatically after I got approved. Took out my first loan in 2018. The application process was pretty fast and easy to understand. Just a friendly advice - use your computer to apply. Much easier. A week ago I found out that they offer second mortgages and I decided to apply. Even though I called them to help me login(I forgot my password), it didn’t take much time to apply again. Update: was approved but Money was funded to the wrong account information which they input through my void check I provided, have yet to receive the loan. Stay tuned! Submitted an application on Sat from an existing profile from a loan that I cancelled a year ago. The system would not let me update my info or log into my account. Monday I called as I had not heard from anyone despite emails and was told I needed to submit documents, I filled out all of the information I was sent by Nidhi and I’ve heard nothing and Tuesday I called back and was told my application was in the credit department but that I seem to have multiple application - one from a year ago that was cancelled and the most recent, I was told that I would get an email today with is Tuesday March 27. I’ve gotten nothing so far. The communication is awful and no one gets back to you! The advertising that you apply in 8 mins and get response in 30 and Money in 24 hours isn’t true this far!!! Very disappointing! What is the delay!!

I received a flyer in my mail from this company yesterday. It said that they offer two types of loans: unsecured and home equity. I decided to to google them and see if these guys are legit or no. Many people say it takes them about 3 hours to approve you but they are still good if you need money quickly as they don’t ask for many documents. I called them. Their agent was pretty polite and informative. He told me what papers I need to present to qualify for a home equity loan and I applied. 2 hours later I got an email saying I was approved. This afternoon, the funds got deposited to my account. Everything is fine. I will write an update shortly to tell you guys more about the process and some tips & tricks to make the application process faster.

Good service. Overall quality is 4.5 out of 5. There were a couple of problems when filling out online application but a girl with the name Jass helped me finish. I took $3000 for 24 months. Biweekly payments are small and comfortable to pay. When you login to online portal you can see the outstanding balance and your payments. That is a bog bonus for me because it helps me to control my loan. I also know that if I pay on time my credit score will become bigger. Being new to Canada I think it is very very important. And also they told me if I pay on time I can take more money in future like after 5 or 6 months.

Never get a loan from this fraud company. I had a loan with them and charged me 4 times my loan amount. They take payments different amounts money out of your account when ever they want to. They will call your job and references everyday then take credit checks every 3 months on you without consent. If you need a loan that bad go to Money mart or cash4u not this company. They make you take there bogus insurance they when you try to use it when you get laid off of your job they always deny it. Once you sign there fraud agreement make sure you know what your reading and what your going to sign. I wish I would of read there 2 star rating as well as all the BBB complaints they have before I got the loan from them as they have screwed over a lot of people. So guys beware there are a lot of other bad credit loan companies that you can deal with that don’t charge you 70% interest rate and are not a bad business company so please do your research.

This type of loan is a high interest rate loan. It should be your last option if you tried other loans before. I took out the loan in Feb 2020. I applied for a reloan in Oct 2020 and the payments were lower and I paid more towards the loan. The good about the loan was that it is done online and you have an account that you can see your payments and track your own account as needed. I was also able to get the loan lined up with paydays as it was different days in the beginning and that was difficult. It gives you a long term short payment option instead of quick payday loans where you pay back within a payday or two. They took out the payments correctly each payday. The cons are the loan is tied to your bank account and requires regular payments and is a fixed expense. The interest is high. It's another loan added to your debts. I decided to payout the rest of my loan as it would eliminate the high interest. The process was incredibly simple and tracked through my email. I set up the day and the full payout payment was removed correctly. My account immediately updated to paid off. I love that as its very transparent.

If is my balance zero then what else you need. Scam company stay away from this. I have to involve my lawyer to work with me order to clear this message and I am still in process for it. This is an awful company to do business with .. the loan officer named Kamiljit was friendly at the beginning of the loan to gain my busines. Once i slipped and fell behind. She harrased me and became disrespectful and unprofessional. She went so far as to lower my credit score with a report of a missed payment without warning. Even though this company did not report my revolving credit to equafax( i was paying weekly and never were my payments reported) .. the 30% intrest rate is ridiculous. This is a company designed to keep low income households scrambling to make payments . And if you miss a payment to feed your family they will haunt your free time with harrasing phone calls and emails . And further more they will destroy your credit rating .. the better busines bureau will here about this . Under no circumstances should these employees be considered professional lenders .. it time for big banks , and credit unions to step in and eliminate these high interest lenders. The woman I was dealing with could not give me a straight answer on why they mislead me. She said everyone who applied previously and was denied got the same message. My thought is if they will mislead you and say your approved based on my previous application, which I will admit it was bad and now it is better and I am still denied on better credit. What makes you think they won’t lie to you as well. Stay away from this company and beware of false messages and misleading statements. I sent them the information that was needed and they came back to me saying that I do not meet their criteria and that I do not qualify for the loan. incredibly disappointed I received a text stating that I pre qualified for a loan so I figured why not its close to x-mas and can use the money. I sent all the information they required, made a few phone calls to findout where I stood in the application process after a week, & finally had someone answer to tell me that my "PRE-Qualified" loan is with an underwriter awaiting a decision. I've waited long enough and I'm no longer in need of a loan from them. I know people are in a bind these days money wise due to our incompetent government that serves the wealthy but please learn from me & don't pursue financial restitution from this company.... This is an update from 2 months ago: after leaving my initial review on a loan I was pre qualified for & having no one get back to me. I was urged to call loan away's customer care team so they can rectify the problem I was supposedly having with their underwriters. My loan was re-opened & I was instructed to send additional documents, which I did cause I thought things would go a little smoother this time around. I then made another call to the customer care team a few days later to find out that my pre approved loan was denied! How does any person get denied on a pre approval? Again I'm not bitter just disappointed. What's the point of pre approving anyone just to go through the motions of the lenders process to get denied!?! I truly am ok with this just please loan away don't send me any more pre approval e-mails thanks.

Poor business ethics! Poor Experience. I have had 4 loans with this company over a course of 2 years. Always paid the balance in full PRIOR to the full term of the loan. Yet the loan they approved me for this last time has a LOWER balance than the last one - no explanation given. As well, I asked for payment forgiveness during the Covid-19 pandemic, and they still try to take money from my account and continue charge me NSF fees. It's a scam just to get you information. Tons of hidden fees that you will only learn about after contract is ready and your personal info was collected. Same documents requested numerous times by a half dozen different individuals. On top of it all there is a ~40% insurance fee that is mandatory and added to the monthly payment (although it says it's optional) you cannot opt out. I received multiple emails stating I was approved up to $5000 loan based on documents I provided but when contract came it was for only 1900 ... again all this AFTER all your personal documents have been collected bye them. Employees are very rude and this is just a scam. Do not do business with them, there are tons of better options around, heck pay day loans are a better and safer option than this company. They also say they are open 24/7 meanwile it took the a week to respond to initial request ... and when they finally responded they rushed you and told you offer was not valid if you don't reply to the same day to them.

At a moment in life when I was deep in debt I had asked for a loan which they denied but explained to me about a secured loan where I would pay into it for 24 month, earn some interest and that they would also bring my credit rating up by reporting to the credit bureau. due to an emergency 5 months before my loan was supposed to be released I had asked them to return the funds. at which the agent and the manager who are heartless ppl by the way kept saying that I should have read the contract and that they couldn't release the funds. up until today my credit rating hasn't gone up or improved and then they say that there will be a 400$ admin fee for doing absolutely nothing for me and on top of that charge me interest in the amt of 39% and guess the amt of interest I will be earning? 1.5%!!! not even banks take advantage of you like this. so none of this is explained initially and when brought up they go through the same old excuse "Didn't you read the contract???" even if you are dying and are in need of your funds they will still hold it hostage trying to milk you of every single cent of interest and their only response would be a cold hearted you have to make other arraingements. DO NOT ...i implore you no matter how much you are in debt ... DO NOT ever deal with this company as they stand to benefit from your despair. and if you sign that contract you are making a deal that is worse than signing with the devil. Update: Just to give you an idea as to how they steal your hard earned money. Been paying them 77.94$ biweekly since aug 26, 2016 for a supposed secured loan of 2000$ until aug 2019 out of which I'm ONLY getting 1600$. So to put it in perspective that's 77.94 × 78 (156 weeks dived by 2 since I'm biweekly) which comes to a grand total of 6079.32$ that they are taking from me. So they are pocketing 4479.32 $ of my hard earned money. And you would think how they could go to sleep at night after committing such a crime?? peacefully!!!!

If I could rate this institution 0 stars I would. I would never recommend this place to anyone to get a loan. They are incorrectly reporting on my credit bureau late payments that I never made and refuse to fix the issue. Customer service is lacking as I've been turned away a number of times on the issue meanwhile other banks, A lenders fix issues like this no problem. What a difference. Never ever again. But after searching the word credit score on the reviews here, it seems that they do this to ALOT OF PEOPLE. BEWARE of these people and refrain from doing any business with them. Hello everyone! I would like to tell everyone about my experience with Loanaway. One year ago, I tried borrowing 5000 dollars from them. Their customer service agent promised me that I would get my money in 24 hours. After 2 days I got an email saying that I needed to submit more documents for my application to be reviewed. I was very disappointed because they told me that everything was OK with my documents and I would get my money in 24 hours. Anyway! I decided not to proceed. On October 23, 2019, I was contacted by the lady from loanaway. She stated that my application was incomplete in 2018 and asked me if I wanted to proceed with it. She promised me that many things have changed since 2018 and I could get my money even faster. I decided to give it a try. I was very surprised how fast I got a pre-approval letter (10 minutes after I updated my info). The following day, I woke up and saw an email that $5000 were deposited to my chequing account. I was also declined by other two sack lenders, so i didn't know what to do. Surprisingly, loan away called me after 2 days and said that they could approve me for a 2000 loan. After receiving several emails of pre-approval, I decided to go ahead and submit required DOCs. I that was yesterday at 2pm. 24hrs later and I have yet to get a response. I tried to leave a msg online, but that hasent been answered either. After waiting in queue for 1hour, I was sent to Jane's voicemail. Got a loan from Loan Away and was making my payments for over a year. In may of last year I fell sick and was unable to work. Could not make any payments for more than half a year. Finally worked out a settlement with Loan Way to stop them from bleeding me to death. Just after the settlement goes through the insurance company finally settles my claim and pays Loan Away what they owe me. I have been in contact with Loan Away since January 23rd and dealing with Pinki and getting no were fast. Have been given the excuse that the manager is making a decision, we are waiting on the insurance company to give us some info and now back to the excuse that we are waiting on a managers decision. The funny thing is that Loan Away was able to make a decision on whether or not I qualify for another loan faster than making a decision on returning my insurance overpayment.

I have a 600 credit score not the best but deffinetely not the worst thats why i applied for a loan from here lol i got approved for a $2500 loan when i asked 1000 and the lady meanwhile after i got denied said theres nothing she can do no respect at all. And i got denied because i make 1200 a month. Shared apartment so i only pay 600 .this place is terrible and doesnt make any sense also went through 4 different representatives for over 9 days and took credit department 5 days to check my credit after 2 reps had no clue how to send my information do not say u approve 85% of applicants with bad credit because this place doesnt if it did almost everyone who wrote a 1 star review here would of got their loan. Especially when u look up bad credit loans and this place appears 9 days of my time wasted when i vould of went somewhere else worst service ever place is junk not recomending and deffinetely unliking the facebook page lol

Their pre-approval doesn’t mean anything. They do hard credit checks and aren’t that helpful when it comes to the application process. Not worth your time and effort. Stay away!

Was happy with loan and payments, however, I recently made a mistake of forgetting to give my new banking information. I have never missed a payment. Instead of checking first, that everything was okay, or whether it was just an error, I received an extremely rude email from the collections department. Very rude and unprofessional expecially given what is happening in the world today. This, so far, is the only company that hasn't reached out, in advance, to offer assistance if needed. Full fees still charged.

They became better and friendlier. That’s what I can say. Two years ago I got a unsecured loan from this company (amount = 3,000$) and it was unbelievably difficult to get in touch with their customer service or collection department. I was waiting on the phone a lot. In addition, it took them more time to approve you for a reloan. Even though i used to pay on time, I still had to wait to get more money. And that was a problem for me because when I needed more cash I had to wait. Now things changed and I can rate my new experience with loanaway. I applied for a second mortgage through them (amount 40,000$). Firstly, the wait time has changed and they approved me fast. Secondly, they can finally respond to my phone calls and emails much faster ( I guess they have more employees now). Thirdly, it’s easier to manage and control your payments. “My personal” account’s features have improved. Also if I call in to ask some questions that always pop up, they explain stuff in detail and dedicate more time for me. In my opinion, that’s a must when talking to a customer. Keep up with the good work

Very disappointed with the company. I applied for a loan and kept calling them to make sure my application was okay. It took a whole entire week after I submitted my application for me to call them and for them to tell me there were issues with my application that no one told me. There was no communication with me to tell me, which is why I’m giving them 1 star.
