Do not waste your time calling this office unless you are fluent in French, the absolutely refuse to speak English. apparently they are not allowed to speak English in this office. So much for a Bilingual Country or the right to be served in either official language.

(Translated) After staying at the police station to report identity theft and a call to Revenue Canada, I am informed that an employee of the Jonquière Tax Center has incorrectly updated my ARC profile with the new information from my former spouse (new address, new civil status and benefits requested for the birth of a child). To rectify the situation, I am informed that my only recourse is to send a letter asking for corrections. How could such an error have occurred? This is highly unacceptable. Nothing will compensate for the real lack of recourse to help me, nor for all the anxiety experienced in recent days. (Original) Après un séjour au poste de police pour déclarer un vol d'identité et un appel à Revenu Canada, on m'apprend qu'un employé du Centre fiscal de Jonquière a mis à jour mon profil ARC de manière erronée avec les nouvelles informations de mon ancien conjoint (sa nouvelle adresse, son nouveau statut civil et prestations demandées pour la naissance d'un enfant). Pour rectifier la situation, on m’informe que mon seul recours est d’envoyer une lettre pour demander des correctifs. Comment une telle erreur a-t-elle pu survenir? Cette situation est hautement inacceptable. Rien ne compensera pour l’absence réelle de recours pour me venir en aide, ni pour toute l’angoisse vécue ces derniers jours.

It can go as far as collection agencies and seizures of our bank accounts or other good. But when it is them, they take weeks, see months. I go down to Jonquière this weekend, it's clear that I pay myself a visit. I will not leave without having my check in hand. Are there any who are interested in a class action ???? (Original) Vraiment broche à foin. Ils sont en retard, retard, et en retard. Ils me doivent un remboursement pour l'année 2016, en plus de l'année 2017. Toujours rien reçu. Quand j'appel, ils me disent qu'ils n'ont pas de date à me donner, car ils sont débordés du à une restructuration. Ha ben oui c'est vrai, quand on leurs dois, ils courent après nous pour se faire payer. Ça peut aller jusqu"à les agences de collection et des saisies de nos comptes banquaire ou autres bien. Mais quand c'est eux, ils prennent des semaines, voir des mois. Je descend à Jonquière ce week-end, c'est clair que je me paye une visite. Je ne partirai pas sans avoir mon chèque en main. Est ce qu'ils y en a qui sont intéressés à un recours collectif ????

April 24, 2017 Summerside, Prince Edward Island C1N 4J9 This morning, I received a notice from Canada Revenue Agency, Jonquiere Tax Centre, in relation to Nova Scotia affordable living tax credit (NSALTC). The notice was in English - a reminder of reasons to notify of changes to address, etc. The address was not totally correct, so I telephoned the office to make the correction. The response was in French, and I am not a speaker of the French language. I listened to hear the word "Anglais" in hopes of reaching someone I could speak to in English. I do realize that the call terminated in a French community and province; however, the response should have been given in both official languages, especially when written communication is in English and sent to an English speaking province in Canada. I am sure all provincial offices in Atlantic Canada respond in French and English, and so permit the caller to choose his/her official language. I do trust this will be corrected.
