J Pauley has interesting selling tactics. I was interested in a vehicle and took the necessary steps to purchase that vehicle. After they ran my application, I was not contacted. I had to contact them, and ask about where we were with the potential purchase. I was given a strange runaround and when I said that I had pre-approved elsewhere and we could use that pre-approval to finance the vehicle, I was told that they do not deal with this lender (a major bank) and that, said bank, has pre-approved dealers. Instead of giving me the options that they should have come up with after running my credit, they did not respond further. We ultimately bought a much more expensive version of the vehicle from another dealer, which we traveled to. So I know this had nothing to do with me. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to get a much nicer, more expensive, better, vehicle.

Had to get three recalls done with the airbag being the single most important one of the three. Got there at a few minutes after 7:30am and was told it would take 3.5 hours. They had me out right at 2 hours for all three recalls. Plus they have a large and comfortable waiting area for you.

Had a Recall on the headlight wiring harnesses. Took it in and was told that one of the connectors was melted and Since the recall is only for the wiring harness I would have to pay to replace the connector and would also have to pay $20 labor to put on ONE new connector.. I questioned them if they had to take the old connectors off to install the new wiring harnesses as part of the recall. And was told they had to take the old bulb connectors off and would attach the new wiring harness to them but since one of mine was melted they couldn't attach the new harness until it was replaced. Was told the recall didn't cover connectors and would have to pay for the part and labor to install it. Why should I have to pay labor to install something they have to remove anyway to fix a recall....

Service dept was awful! No customer service at all. On my new car I asked them to change my oil and rotate my tires for the first time. Got my car and drove off. Went back to change oil again and waited. Guy told me it was ready and he proceeded to tell me last time they didn’t change the oil even tho I told them to change it. So my car went 15,000 miles without a oil change. I asked them about it and they didn’t want to help me or say they were sorry or anything. Just shrug there shoulders. I will never ever buy a car from them again or use there service dept. I highly recommend NOT use them

Called to get keys made for my new truck. I had my own blanks and just needed the keys cut and programmed. Employee told me that my finance papers and bill of sale weren’t enough to prove ownership of my vehicle so they could make my keys. When I asked why those docs wouldn’t work employee lied to me and said it was “state law” that you have to have a title and registration to get a key made. They also quoted me $116 per key just to program the key. Called a locksmith, had two keys made in about 10 minutes for $40 total after taxes. I will not be using this dealership for service on my new truck.

They fixed the recall had on my Toyota Avalon and at the same time I did oil change and tire rotation. This was my first visit at this dealership. Service was good and finish the work on time as they informed. They had mark areas to keep the distance and prevent spreading covid-19 virus. I did see some employees without masks. I do not recommend taking your car to their service center, they charged me $120 to run a diagnostic on my broken air conditioner which only allowed them to tell me what I already knew, that the compressor wasn't working, and then they wanted me to leave it overnight and pay another $250+ to run more diagnostics. When I disputed the payment because all they told me was something I already knew (from previous diagnostics by other mechanics which I told them beforehand), they had no interest in compromising and lowering the price. Don't take your car here unless you're ready for a fat one up the @$$.

Disappointment would put it mildly. J Pauley should be an embarrassment for Toyota. When I dropped off my car for routine service I wasn't even asked my name (which led me to wonder how they planned to contact me when the order was finished). The worst part, though, was the fact that despite the fact that they did ultimately have my number, they never called to tell me the car was finished--or that one of the tires had been punctured by a nail. I only learned this when I examined my paperwork and asked the person who checked me out. I then found myself with a quickly leaking tire on a Friday night at 530--three hours from my destination.

I'm writing a very late review, but it is a review nonetheless. A few years back, I was shopping around for a new or new-to-me vehicle, and found myself at J. Pauley Toyota. My first visit was pretty great. I stated I was casually looking, definitely didn't want to do anything that day, but the sales person still treated me like I was a paying customer, and answered all of my questions and then some. I thought to myself "I will definitely come back here when I'm more ready." My next visit had pretty much the same experience, just with a different sales person. This time I actually went through the sales process and was approved to purchase a brand new Corolla. The next day I was supposed to go in and sign the paperwork, but as it so happened this was also the day I heard of the massive recalls Toyota was having, and I felt uneasy about buying the car. I expressed interest in finding a different model, or something pre-owned that wasn't a Toyota and I was more or less told a flat "no" and I stated I would be going elsewhere. Consequently, I was harassed over the phone for DAYS by this sales person demanding I come in and sign the papers for the Corolla that I did not want to purchase (he even came in to my place of work, I kid you not). I sincerely hope this individual is not still employed in any car lot, as it is the reason I have never suggested anyone visit J. Pauley. However, I will be in the market for a vehicle very soon and will return to see if I can change the three stars to a five.

I feel cheated! When I pull up to service department I talk with the salesman and tell him that my maintenance is on and my tires need rotation. He proceeds to ask me if I needed an oil change I am no just had one a few week ago. He goes on to tell me the reason that my maintenance is on is because the last oil change they did not turn it off and I need to just get rotation which will be $16 I say ok. They get done with it and guy comes in and tell me it done.We head to the register to pay and he says $32 I said hold up tire rotation is 16 he goes into another room to ask a lady and tell him to tell it correct. He aid because I didn't get an oil change with tge rotation that it is higher. I told the guy ringing me up that its cheaper for me for them to do more work???? BS! I have had my oil change there many times and pay $30 for the oil change and rotation among other service they do with it. I was cheated out of money.

I own a Lexus RX 350, with the nearest dealership being over 100 miles away I chose J Pauley Toyota to take a look at my vehicle when my check engine light and other lights came on. They found that it needed a new ignition coil and replaced it. A few days later my alternator went out, but was under warranty with a different shop. While the other shop was replacing the alternator they found that an electrical plug had been broken when the coil had been replaced and had been just siliconed back on. After speaking with the service representative he proceeded to belittle the shop I had doing the work (a shop that had absolutely nothing to gain in pointing out J Pauley Toyota Service's shoddy work). They said I would need to bring it back in for them to look at. However, I have been without my vehicle for almost week so I prefer to have it fixed rather than take it back and forth between shops only to be told it is not Toyotas problem as they have made me feel through this process. I never write reviews, but I spent a lot of money on the work Toyota did to my vehicle and I don't feel like I was treated like a valued customer. Not to mention I sat in their waiting room for over 2 hours without a single update on my vehicle when they were diagnosing the check engine light issue. I finally had to ask what was going on to get information. As a business owner I understand the importance of my customers and I would never treat them the same way if they came to me with a concern.

Today, the customer service was not as good. The attitude that they gave us was pretty bad. When I told them the problem that I have with my car, they talked unhappily. The problem is that if you have a bad day that’s fine, but don’t take it out on the customers as that reflects your company. If I had no problem with my car, I wouldn’t have asked or went to fix it. I hope that today was just a bad day, and strive to give better customer service.

Although I bought my Toyota at a different dealership, I've brought it here for most of my oil changes and tire rotations the past several years. To get to the point, I have never had a problem here and I trust these guys to take care of my car needs. So far I've been very pleased with the service, and I'm right at 100,000 miles on my car. They have a multi-point inspection list that they have always gone over with me after my oil changes/tire rotations. They've always let me know in advance if I was possibly going to need an air filter or anything else replaced on my next visit so I'd have a heads up. There have been a couple of occasions where they've had a lot of people in line to have oil changes, tire rotations, etc and the wait has been a little long, but I try to schedule my appointments on days or times that I'm not rushed. Overall, I haven't had any problems with them and I do recommend them.

I went to J Pauly Toyota To get a front end alignment and oil change waiting approximately 3 hours I was told my car was ready. I paid the bill and drove off and realized that they had not aligned the front end. I tried calling with no success so then I went in person and I was told that I would need to purchase a part and bring the car back in for a front end alignment. I replied well it would be nice if you had told me that you did not align the front end even though you charged me for it. He had a very condescending attitude and told me when I brought the car back in I would have to repay for an alignment which should have been done in the first place or at least I should have been told and had that option. So I had him order the part brought my car back in the meantime my son called the service manager and explained the situation to him and he said I would not have to repay for the front end alignment. The service technician tried to charge me again and said it wasn't on the computer. I suggested he go speak with his service manager. I guess the thing that upsets me the most is that I'm an elderly lady and they plainly tried to take advantage of me by charging me for a front end alignment never telling me I needed a part until pressed and then wanting to charge me again. Very unethical. I called and left a message for the owner explaining the situation. He never responded. They will never get any more business from me and I will not buy a Toyota from them as I was considering doing so before this experience. Everyone should think twice before using their service department. If it was possible to give them a minus five stars I would do so and gladly before I retired I sold new and used cars for years and I would not dream of treating my customers the way I was treated. Just because you may be a elderly and a woman that does not make you stupid

Probably the worst place to buy a car. While I was looking the sales rep wouldn't work with me and was very pushy and set for me to buy a 2015 corolla S. Instead I went to Fayetteville and got me the exact same car, color and even manual one which the sales rep at J Pualey said he couldn't get. It was a good Tire because it didn't blow on me as I was traveling down the interstate, and J.Pauley told me to bring it in and they would look at it. Great service today. I got my Tundra oil and filter changed and I was having trouble with my 4 Wheel Dr. not engaging on my truck. J. Pauley was able to break free the actuator and restore four-wheel-drive capability without replacing the part. In addition they gave me a shuttle ride back to my house while the repair was being done. I don’t know how long this fix will work but I really appreciate them trying to save me the expense of just replacing that part. I only had to pay for labor today.

I was very happy with my purchase. Found the car on Autotrader and made the 2:30 drive. Everyone was great to deal with. My only complaint is they sold me the car with only one key fob. Found this out just prior to signing the papers. They claim the price reflected the loss of the key fob. A new fob cost me several hundred dollars to replace. I would still buy from them again because they represented the car well with videos and pictures.

They looked at my vehicle a week ago and when I show up this afternoon to close the deal, they asked for $1000 more because my used 4Runner trade-in with 25000 miles has worn tires. These were the same tires that the dealer saw when they made me an offer to sell/trade. He now says the used car manager can't certify pre-own my trade because it needs tires, thus the request for an additional $1000. All of the details of the deal were negotiated via text thus creating a legal binding agreement. I guess since they tried to scam me for an extra $1,000, my next step will be the Arkansas Attorney General's office and BBB. I don't appreciate their deception and crawfishing on the deal. It's bad business and this is not the first time I have heard that they do this.

Sorry ahead of time for the long read. On 29 Oct I took my Platinum Tundra to J Pauley Toyota of fort smith for an oil change and the service department wrecked my truck. They said they would fix it like it never happened, so I brought it back the 5th of Nov. for repairs and to get a rental while it was being repaired. They said all they had was a Corolla and told them that wasn't going to work. Well they said they would work something out and fast fwd to Monday the 12th I returned to the dealership and I got a red Chevy truck from Enterprise which was fine for a few day. Thursday Nov. 15th the Service manager called and said my truck was ready to be picked up on Friday. I show up on Friday Nov. 16th and my truck wasn't repaired correctly or completely to my satisfaction. Bill King said they would repair my truck yet again but they had to make arrangements again with Enterprise rental company again. Very disappointed in this place. They were NOT MILITARY FRIENDLY. We found them through USAA car buying service and upon purchasing which was a whole other fiasco we were assured that the paperwork would go through so my husband and I could get the best loan deal through USAA. The dealership does some shady practices to try to get people to get a loan through them and after continuously saying no I feel like we were screwed over because I can not get the good loan deal I originally had. After USAA investigated they found that the dealership did not file the certificate like they promised. I am frustrated and feel ripped off as we agreed to one thing and they did not honor our agreement. I will be discouraging all other military friends from buying from this dealership.

Our experience buying a truck was nice with Lee until we had to complete the finance paperwork with Curtis. Not only did Curtis feel the need to go on a rant about how we needed to keep the gap insurance paperwork in our house in case our vehicle caught on fire and we died, he felt the need to try and tell us (COMPLETELY UNPROMPTED) about how COVID was a hoax, invented by China, the vaccines were dangerous, everyone that has died from covid was going to die anyways etc. My fiancé and I sat there awkwardly just saying mmhmm because we were speechless. When he continued on anyways, even though it was clear we were uncomfortable, his response was “oh you don’t believe me?” to which my fiancé said “oh she’s in medical school”. I am currently a third year medical student and already have a BS in Biology so I do not need a finance guy at a car dealership to explain to me how any vaccines work/spew misinformation at me. But the worst part was his response to learning I was a medical student was “oh well you can’t just believe what your school teaches you. You have to do your own research.” Oh I’m sorry sir, the faculty of my school literally have DECADES if not over a century of combined education and/or medical field experience. I know it’s probably easy for someone like him to talk down on me because I’m a young woman but I will never be back to this dealership and I will tell everyone I know not to go there. When I shared the experience with the sales guy that helped us, he said that Curtis has done things like this several times. Buying a vehicle is stressful enough without an idiot degrading you and talking about global issues he knows nothing about. Also the dealership didn’t even have the decency to give us a functional spare key. They said the battery needed replaced but it doesn’t even work. It may not even belong to my fiancé’s truck.

Great overall experience! James was honest, low-pressure, and very reasonable. Bought a used car at a very reasonable price. Did not purchase the warranty, but the dealership provides a 3-month/3,000 mile power-train warranty. Unfortunately, the car had an issue within a few days, so I called the dealership to see if it was covered. Of course, the issue didn't fall under the "power-train" warranty, so I thought I was hosed. My salesman, James, called me a day or 2 later, thanking me for my business and asking how the car was treating me so far. I explained the issue and the warranty situation. He spoke to his sales manager and they worked with me on a solution. I could tell this was outside the norm and above and beyond, as they weren't required to help me at all. Drop my mother car off for recall servicing this morning 1/07/16 appointment was at 9:00 a.m. He inform me it would be a 2 1/2 hr job over the phone. Had to call at 1:40 p.m to see if vehicle was finish. It was, so I went back to pick it up. Got home to notice new cut/scratch on dash near glove box, rip sun visors near pivot rod, the passenger side headliner was improperly tuck back into place and also passenger side middle pillar was not fully reinstalled. Loved my salesman. He was great and tried to accommodate my wife. My wife is disabled and has had 4 surgeries in the last 12 months on her left knee and left ankle. The buying process took to long for my wife and she had to leave and return the next day to finish signing paper work because she could no longer sit in the show room. J. Pauley needs to provide better seating for people shopping at their location. We drove onto the lot around 2pm. We knew what we were looking for and finally made a deal on the vehicle we found. By the time we agreed on a purchase price J. Pauley only had one customer service credit manager available on duty and there were two customers in front of me. It was around 7pm before we finished the paper work. I needed to finish the paperwork that night because I was leaving town the next day. I made an appointment for the following day at 2pm and arranged for my wife to sign papers, go over vehicle we purchased with the salesman, and pick up her newly detailed vehicle. I had also purchased the clear coat package which was to be applied prior to my wife’s arrival. The paperwork was ready to be signed. However, the Toyota Highlander was still not ready. The clear coat package had not been applied and if you buy that package after the dealership applies the clear coat the vehicle must sit a minimum of 30 minutes prior to driving. I feel like besides are salesman we worked with.... J.Pauley dropped the ball and left a bad taste in my mouth for the dealership My wife was exhausted after the two day buying process and took several days for her to recover

I visited J Pauley Toyota for a scheduled maintenance appointment. No employees that I saw wore face coverings of any kind. Multiple employees came within six feet of me with no face covering. I asked if I could drive my vehicle into the service bay so that no employee needed to enter my vehicle. I was told no. I asked the service department to fix a squeaky window. When the window is put down, it squeaks loudly. This is the 3rd request I’ve made to resolve the matter. The first time, they sprayed a lubricant on the window. The second time they replaced the runner. Today they sprayed another lubricant on the window. I was told by an employee this is just what to expect. The employee said he has the same problem with his own Toyota vehicle and that it is just something we have to do deal with when we buy $40K+ Toyota vehicles. I’d hoped to fix this minor issue before my new vehicle warranty expires. Looks like instead, I’ll just get to deal with it under the advice of this knowledgeable employee. Upon arrival, I placed my maintenance record book, opened to the page to be stamped for this required maintenance appointment, on the seat, so that employees did not have to open my glove compartment, etc. After servicing my vehicle, an employee took the time to close the maintenance record book, and place it back into my glove compartment, without stamping it, without noting the service was completed in the maintenance record book. So I had yet another opportunity to get within 6 feet of a J Pauley Toyota employee who was not wearing a mask. But at least my window still squeaks.

I took my 2013 Highlander SUV in for a 90,000 mile service, and everything seemed fine until the service tech returned my car to me with the engine problem light on (it had never been on before or when I brought it in for service today). The service manager ran some diagnostics and told me that it was indicating a fuel sensor was acting up and he wasn’t certain why that was the case, but he was able to turn off the engine problem light. I asked him how it was not the case when I brought in my car for service, but suddenly was a problem after his techs serviced my car—-he said it was just a coincidence that after his guy serviced my car that this happened.

This dealership pressured my 89 year old mother to trade in an SUV for a used truck. She tried to call them but they were ( the finance man) would not return her calls. This is the most dishonest dealership to pressure my 89 year old mother who could not remember she had even wrote them a check. I would not recommend this dealership to my worst enemy. We are filing a report with the Better Business Bureau. If you don’t want to be cheated don’t buy from them!
