I'm extremely disappointed to see that my nursing student who I co signed for is paying 9.99% interest. My credit is stellar so why that rate is so extremely high is beyond me. All the advertisements show very low rates. More fine print I suppose. I think they call this predatory lending practices. How are they ever supposed to get out of student debt at 10% interest? Tell the truth College Ave, be up front. Even the reddit threads say they cannot locate any unbiased reviews for you. You must have someone dedicated to scouring the web for all negative info. Boo! Thumbs down.

Online payment system is a complete joke. They are constantly declining payments with cards that are completely active and already in their system for absolutely no reason besides trying to “prevent a double payment.” Anyways, I’m constantly having to call to process payments month after month. Very inconvenient and frustrating when you’re trying to pay off loans with 12%+ interest more than once a month and you can only call on weekdays to make payments, while interest continues to accrue... Almost seems like a scam to me and way for them to prevent paying off debt faster. Go elsewhere.

I got a loan from college Ave back in 2016. I had a mental health crisis and didn't make payments to anyone for 6 months. That was my bad. My life is back in order, i'm working again as a respiratory therapist and a make good money. The problem? they sold my account to a group of modern day bandits, Simms and Associates. I'm unable to make payments to them and am forced to call them monthly to make payments. It doesn't sound like a huge problem, but it is. The worst part? I would have gladly made my payments and paid interest to college ave. All I wanted was the option of automatic bill pay so I don't have to think about this every month. At first I thought this company was helping me, now I know they just saw me as a irredeemable number.

Supposedly best place to find a student loan. Still very high interest rate, can't refinance it, and I am unable to log on. I've tried contacting help to log in and get a machine each time.

College Ave has been servicing my refinanced student debt for a little over a year now. Like most loan service providers, College Ave has a direct debit option, which allows for automatic payments on a monthly basis. This makes it easy and pain free to manage your payments in a timely matter. However, this past month College Ave debited my account twice for the same payment. Upon noticing this within my personal bank account, I reached out to College Ave customer service, who informed me there was an error in payments for the current month and certain accounts were debited twice by accident. It was further indicated that refunds would be issued in 7-10 days. I was surprised and thoroughly disappointed to find out that this known, material error had to be confirmed by me calling customer service as opposed receiving a phone call or even an email from College Ave explaining what had happened and resolution. Alas, I would not recommend using College Ave for your refinancing needs because of their lack of customer service and the poor handling of this situation.

My student loans needed a co-signer, mine had perfect credit. I just received my reason for denial letter and it says I had no co-signer. Maybe it’s a blessing since the other reviews were all terrible and no matter what you have a crazy high interest rate.

Easy to get money, but website is shady. Very difficult to navigate setting up recurring payments. First payment I scheduled didn't go through, 2nd time I had to do manually. Paid $200 and only $18 came off the principle. Took another loan with a credit union and paid this one off immediately. Use as last resort.
